Privilege
Charming Hilo mainstay, do all you can to stop here on your visit it’s SO WORTH ITMy heart is full after this combo plate! (Chop Steak, Katsu Chicken, Beef Stew, rice and Mac salSuch a priceless experience regardless of long lines, rain, or traffic to get there.
MoreLemme just say I used to work here, and I was trained by Itoshi. Nicest, most badass cook Ive ever met! If this guy is working... ORDER! ORDER anything off the menu! This guy does so many orders in such a short amount of time and he takes so much care into making the orders its mind blowing!Ive been working in the food I dustry for 7+ years, Fairmont, genki sushi, four seasons, Lava Lava Beach Club, and more.... NEVER have I EVER been in a kitchen as good as this one! Everything is actually the cleanest Ive seen, and each order is truly made with Aloha! If I had to pick the one place I would ALWAYS trust ordering from it would be from Cafe 100!I recommend anything and everything! I just ordered a Loco from my boi.... buggah came out in just 2 minutes!😳😳😳 talk about fast comfort food!🤣
MoreI was looking forward to this place, especially to try the loco Moco, but it was surprisingly bland. Decent price, portion size was good for sharing, but the gravy and sauces were just so bland. The super loco Moco was almost wonderful. Ill have to make it at home sometime with good gravy (fried eggs, hamburger, fried spam, fried Portuguese sausage, gravy and rice).
MoreSeemed real hawain food taxi driver and tour guide showed us spot has been there over 62 years saw lots of locals eating there. Food great huge plates lots of food fills you up
MoreSolid place! I came here for lunch with a big group and got the Island girl, our orders took less than 10min to come out and everything was really good! The prices seemed fair and the staff was great to us. As a heads up this place does ask that its costumers wear mask but were still very kind to us and accommodating of us not having any mask on hand.
MoreSimple food done really, really, well. They arent kidding about the short turn around time from ordering to being served. I dont think there is a better value for price paid to sheer amount of food received anywhere on Hawaii. Hats off to the Cafe 100 founder for his service during WWII the man is a literal American hero. Stop by if you are in Hilo.
MoreYou go here for Hawaiian comfort food and Cafe 100 delivers that like no one else! Yes, prices have gone up but so has everything else and Cafe 100 is still going to give you more of a bargain than any place else in Hilo.
MoreFood was always good. But they have a permanent painted sign on the outside window. No Mask No Service. Its an outdoor service! Sheesh.
MoreExcellent loco Moco , downside establishment is still following old COVID guidelines,no seating, no public restrooms, then again most business in Hilo are like this still. Good luck finding a bathroom that isnt full of the unfortunate homeless in the area .
MoreCafe 100 was SO good!! Staff was friendly and covid cautious, which was very appreciated! Food was delicious. We got the bacon and cheese girl, the loco Moco, miso soup and fries. I highly recommend this place. It was a food highlight on our trip!
MoreAs a local this was my usual place on tuesdays for a kalua loco. I went today for a kalua loco to find out they no longer do it. It’s a kalua pig and cabbage loco now.. and it’s disgusting! It was pretty much a mini kalua pig and cabbage with rice, not a real loco moco. Anyone wants a good kalua loco look else where! There’s barely any meat, mostly cabbage. It didn’t even look appetizing and it tasted just as bad as it looks. Bring back the regular kalua loco WITH NO CABBAGE and stop being stingy. Money & food wasted.
MoreNOT vegetarian-friendly. They have Gardenburgers and Beyond burgers on the menu, but only have meat gravy. The cashier confirmed that the gardenburger is vegetarian, but didn’t tell me that the gravy isn’t. The guy handing out the food confirmed that the gravy was meat, but didn’t offer to remake my dish without the gravy. I was unable to eat my lunch.
MoreGreat loco moco! Seriously. We tried three different locos and they were all great. The hamburger was juicy, with a perfect over easy egg, just as we wanted. We also got tripe stew, which we kinda regretted, because the locos were too good.
MoreDelicious local food at reasonable prices compared to other places on the island. My pic is midway through destroying my Super Loco Moco. Soooo tasty!Masks are required to order at the window for takeout and you cant sit outside at the restaurant, but if you walk past the building in the back, theres a park area next to a pond (connected to the oceanwith a picnic table. Thats where we ate and it was very nice.
MoreGood food. The portions are generous on the plates. We got the grilled mahi mahi & loco moco - they were both delicious.Theyre not open for dine-in at this point.
MoreMy favorite burger & local meal place. Prices are reasonable. They sub toss for Mac salad & the give you brown rice options or no rice all toss salad. Call ahead beat the line for fast service.
MoreSome of the best plate lunch and loco Moco on the island. Unfortunately you still have to wear a mask to get any food and no seating at the restaurant. We got a free mask from Safeway and ate in our car (yes, its good enough to even do that).
MoreWe came at 2pm and there is still a line! We shared a super loco, it does feed us well!
MoreArrived at 1 PM. Only ordered a single super loco and a coke and the order took 40 minutes. Still good value but that’s a long time to wait for a single order. The other thing was people that had large orders (5 food items or morethat came after me were served first which seemed confusing. Also of note: Masks are required, even to takeout (current as of 26 Apr 2022).
MoreThis is where we planned our first taste of Loco Moco. It was a fun experience to try a local food but there was no seating available, even outdoors - all the tables were off limits and you had to wear a mask to order at their outdoor window. We ended up eating in the car. The Loco Moco was good and it was my first and only Loco Moco so I have nothing to compare it to but it’s award-winning so I’m glad I tried it. My favorite was the Teri beef burger though! I wish we had that in Texas!
MoreTraditional loco moco. Locals favorite.
Deliciousness and priced fair. They still arent allowing dine in and the bathrooms are closed.
MoreThe original inventor of loco moco. When in Rome…. Or Hilo!!!Very tasty. Take out only. Restrooms closed.
MoreSupposedly where loco moco started- just decided on the original since we had been snacking all day and unfortunately it was POURING when we went.Service was quick and efficient. Ordered the original and it was only $6 and we ate on the car. If you’re in the area it’s definitely a famous spot to come try out.
MoreThe food as usual is great, they are where the Hawaiian favorite Loco Moco was invented. They have not however re opened the basically outside seating even after the County and State have allowed full capacity for restaurants. They have also significantly increased their prices. With that said, the food is very good but the ordering process needs to be shifted back to normal.
MoreLocal grinds and great prices, only place you can get "green river" fountain drink
MoreA wide variety of food that you order at window and take away. Also, call orders in for pick-up available. I had Chicken Katsu and Stephen had large Loco Moco.
MoreThis had excellent reviews. We were looking for a quick lunch since we didn’t have much time in Hilo. They only had takeout and you order from a window like fast food restaurant. It was super busy with many customers ordering and waiting for their orders. We had their special fish loco. We went to the nearest beach, Hilo Bayfront Beach Park, and had beautiful oceanview. Our lunch was delicious and it was the cheapest meal we had so far.
MoreThe loco moco was flavorful. Great price given the typical daily expenses at Hilo.
MoreThe lady who took our order seemed like she was annoyed with us. The food was good but we were missing one meal. And since theyre not open for "dine in" we had taken our food to the zoo for a picnic before we realized we were missing some. Everything tasted good until I found a hair in my teriyaki chicken. Then I lost my appetite...
MoreNice portion and the taste is spot on I enjoy their moco Loco and will definitely eat here again.
MoreTotally local, and liked the vibe. The food was interesting. See pictures. Some very flavorful other stuff, not so much.
MoreGot the super loco and it was pretty good. The gravy is flavorful and the runny eggs are perfect mixed in.
MoreThis is a long standing local eatery. All the classic local food you need. Loco Moco options are extensive. The standard Loco is smaller than you might expect, but still good for the price. The line and wait is sometimes long. No outdoor seating.
MoreOur first time visiting this place because its the spot for Loco Moco I was told. We arrived early evening and it seemed to have a pretty good flow of business, good sign. Its a fairly large building with a BIG sign so finding this spot wasnt hard. Plenty of parking too so thats always a plus.We ordered the Loco Moco, Fried Fish and a couple of other items, $42 for 5 people so it wasnt expensive. The Loco Moco was good but I was expecting a bigger portion. However, for the price it was a good amount. The patty and Eggs were cooked how I like them and the Gravy was tasty. The Fried Fish was ok but the Tarter Sauce tasted off to me. As for the other items we ordered, I didnt get a chance to try them before they were devoured by everyone!Would we go back? Probably but Id order something else to get a sampling of other dishes they offer.
MoreHome of the original loco moco? Ill take 2 please! What an incredible time capsule of a place. I loved every bite! I now have to have this every time I come to visit hilo town!
MoreA great local spot. Fast inexpensive local food that tastes good. The Loco Moco started and is perfected here. If your visiting and on this side of the island definitely stop in. Plenty of off street parking.
MoreNice diversity of food served on paper and plastic. Low prices, average flavor and serving sizes. Can be busy. Covered seating.
MoreHad high hopes for the loco moco. Parking is easy and the shaded seating area is nice. Service was fast. I like that there’s some variety to the loco moco - we tried the super with Portuguese sausage and spam. It’s good but doesn’t necessarily stand out from other places. Guava juice was refreshing and not too sweet.
MorePlace famous for the vast varieties of loco moco. They also have a selection of daily specials. It’s a fast food place with tables for seatings.
MoreGreat local greasy spoon! This place specializes in loco mocos and they have a ton of variations of the dish. I got the large and was stuffed! Great prices, quality and speed of service.
MoreI think this is the place to go to order loco moco. All of their Hawaiian style good was really good. The American food like burgers and fries are ok. There is plenty of parking, outdoor seating, clean restrooms.
MoreGreat value - limited outside seating under cover. 4 people for $35. Bargain prices. Steak and shrimp for $13. Loco Moco for around $6. Double bacon cheese for $5.50. Quality meats. The only thing better would be adding shakes.
MoreI like this place a lot. If you are looking for a quick and fast local Hawaiian cuisine, this is the place you should go. Price wise is also cheap and very reasonable. We went back there twice because the food is good - quite satisfying for the tummy, I’d must say. This is your very own local comfort food!
MoreNice place for breakfast. Outdoor eating, areas covered. Had Portuguese Sausage with eggs and toast. Place gets busy. Plenty of parking.
MoreFantastic. Came here twice. Simple Hawaiian fare at reasonable prices. Plenty of parking and places to sit. Good customer service and so so many options to choose from! Really great value for money. I had the beef stew, poi, grilled Ahi (fantastic!!). But apparently theyre famous for their loco moco
MoreThe best loco moco I ever had in Hawaii. Price is cheap and food is delicious! Highly recommend to go eat there. Their gravy is not too salty and meat patty is juicy. Shrimp is juicy and tender, teriyaki beef? Pork? is juicy as well.
MoreUgh so good! Its really cheap food that fills you up and its different than what you get food wise from the main land, even though its simple ingredients. I got the Doublr Loco, which is eggs rice meat and gravy but its so damn filling! If your in the area please stop here, you wont be disappointed for a quick, fast food feel bite to eat.
MoreThis place is so good. The moco loco combo comes with fries and they go so well together! And of of the mac salad is delicious. The prices are so cheap too! Definitely a great stop!
MoreVery affordable, good loco mocos. Portuguese sausage loco moco is very good. Covered outdoor seats, only seats 4 per table. Food came very fast and all was hot off the grills. Well worth a lunch stop.
