Cabrera's Mexican Restaurant in Duarte

revising my previous post. We were a party of 10. Amount spent on food , drinks and tip was well over $300.00.

Pretty good food but did not warrant the 1 1/2 hour wait for our food. Food arrived at our table in spurts some of us had to wait even longer to get our food. Couldnt understand the extreme slow service since several tables were empty so I dont think it was because they were over crowded. Will not return to this restaurant again.

Very, very friendly. Food was great and plentiful! Will not hesitate to go again. They make you feel welcome!

Will be back. Loved how what I wanted was not on the menu, and the waitres made is happen!! Also our drinks never went dry and our chips n salsa were really good. Special thanks to out waitress who had the patience with our order(we all had different requests)

Food was way too expensive for what you get. one in our group didn’t like it. They wouldn’t honor my gift card. Said they had a new system. appetizer should be before a meal not brought out 30 minutes later with the meal. No specials for Taco Tuesday and Taco day. 1st time to dine there Never again.

The food was delicious but the service was absolutely awful! I got chicken fajitas but the onions were all clumped together so that was annoying. We ordered flour tortillas and got corn tortillas instead. We ordered queso expecting it to be eaten with chips and instead it was melted cheese to put in a tortilla like a quesadilla. That was weird and not what we expected. But we only saw our waitress 3 times. She never came to check on us. She took our order, gave us drinks and brought food and that was it. It was so bad! We had tons of empty drinks, were always waiting for something.

We were one of five occupied tables. It took 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. Another 10 before someone came to take our food order. 30 minutes later, the appetizer shows up along with all of the other food. Server walked away in the middle of us asking for our first refills of the night. Entree was wrong. We didnt see our server again the rest of the evening. Food was decent but not worth the price.

This restaurant is amazing. From the moment we walked until we left they made us feel like family. Lime they knew us.... the foos was delicious and there service was exceptional. I would and am definitely going to go back and recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

definitely coming back! Everything was so delicious! I ordered carnitas, my family all ordered different dishes and we all shared a taste of each others food! Enchiladas beans & rice , the cheese and the margaritas!!! The waitress was a pro and she got all our orders without writing anything down!

Our group got to the restaurant and was greeted by an employee and was immediately seated. The food was great and came out all together. The reason for the three stars is the not so good service at our table. We had several waiters serving and taking orders on our drinks. Just about everyone ordered water which we all wait for a while to get our water while some of us got margaritas right away. I ordered a lemonade and never got it and was charged for it. I will not come back to this restaurant because of the unprofessional waiters serving our table.

Love the authenticity of the Mexican cuisine! The servers are friendly. The green salsa is great and the chips are great!I feel at home at Cabreras.

Great service and good food, a definite for a good meal

Had the opportunity to visit this amazing restaurant today, what a pleasant experience it was. Starting with the cleanliness and friendly environment, I knew I was in for a massive treat! And let me tell you, it was more than massive. I had the house specially “Molcajete”, it came loaded with Carne Asada, Pollo Asado, Queso Panela, Shrimp, Chorizó, and veggies. This is by FAR the best I’ve ver had.If you’re looking to enjoy some AUTHENTIC and delicious Mexican Food…look no more…Cabrera’s is my new favorite spot.Check out the picture below…pure deliciousness!

Wonderful, just wonderful, experience. The food is beyond good. The service above excellent! Definitely coming here on a regular basis when Im in the mood for Mexican food. Our hostess was unimaginably spectacular. She went above and beyond to make the whole family feel comfortable and catered to our every need, thank you Linda G.

Been here multiple times. Always a wonderful experience due to the entire staff. Food is good, drinks are great, service is excellent!

We were in Duarte and we were hungry. I havent been to Caberas in ages.I ordered a chicken chimichunga (sp?). Honey had steak burrito. Both were very bland. No seasoning or flavor. The beans and rice was the same.I doubt I would return again.

The food was really good, but we felt a bit unwelcome. We had two well behaved dogs on the patio, which they said was acceptable when we called ahead, but when we arrived the waitress was disapproving. The food was good enough that I would return.

Their margaritas are huge...the coconut was delicious and decadent with Carmel sauce on the rim and drizzled down the inside of the glass. The menu has a good variety of choices and I was happy to see dishes with mole sauce! The chips are served with a red salsa that is mild and fresh tasting and a very spicy green salsa so everyone at the table will be happy. The food was great and the portions are generous enough that my mom and I had leftovers for dinner the next day--of course we did make sure we left room to share an order if churros with ice cream!The staff is friendly and cheerful but did lack a bit on the attentive side. We would definitely go back.

First time here. I had the Chile Verde plate.The Chile Verde was delicious but was made even better by a green spicy side salsa that they gave me. Super good !!

The atmosphere was authentic Mexico. Great service. The prices for certain items were too high, for example, substituting shrimp on a dish. Overall, a good experience.

Excellent great food , traveled about two hours to this place and its well worth it. Large portions of food. And the people helping you treat you like family.

Not really a big fan of their food not the taste I was expecting. Maxs Mexican cuisine is way more flavorful if you want real Mexican food. I really dont know why cabarras give coupons and any hard time when you try to use them. I will not be returning Maxs Mexican cuisine for me for now on right across the street from Sonic

Food was okay, I believe its overpriced for canned food. I get better quality at mexican market hot deli. Service was really poor. They were not attentive and lacked attention to detail. Such as sitting us and checking up on us after to get our order. Waited forever to get our order in and receive our food. No refills until we had to ask on drinks. When our food arrived we had to also ask for napkins and utensils. I guess they think we can eat menudo soup without a spoon and everyone needed forks for their platters. They delivered the food and never brought tortillas that my soup included until I had to ask and refills on drinks. The attention needs to adjusted to at least asking customers how the food was. If they had at least been attentive I would have changed rating to 4 stars. People visit restaurants to not have to cook at home so understand that food is not always going to be the best but we go to enjoy and celebrate an outing in a enjoyable environment and definitely friendly service. Sadly I was recommended this place. Maybe it was because they enjoy drinks and the attention was focused on people having alcoholic beverages instead of the rest of the clientele. It was early Saturday afternoon and servers seemed to only be chatting among themselves instead of checking on their customers. It wasnt even busy for them not to be be able to handle a quick check and tell customers their food would be out soon. They need to adjust their service. 1st time here and definitely last too

Simply the best in this area! Ive said it once and Ill say it again! If the beans are good than its legit! And their beans are great! Seriously, great service (Er w in), (the ladies, you know you are!), el compa, and the barkeep! Y la música, buenísima!!!

Food was good I had the Molcajete... I recommend for you meat lovers...shrimp/chicken/beef/pork sausage/long green onion/cheese & cactus in a tasty salsa

I would never call myself a massive fan of Mexican food... only because most of the time it does not agree with me, but if I was to ever make a Mexican restaurant a regular go to this one would be it.Not only is the food really good... but the staff are second to none.They are easily the friendliest staff ever, very attentive, never leaves you waiting on anything.The Margaritas 🍹 are also excellent.I wish they had more of a beer selection, but I know its a Mexican restaurant and they mostly supply Mexican 🍻 but I wish they took in some microbreweries just to mix it up a little.Great spot, well worth a visit.Again... great staff

The staff was very pleasant. I wish all service people had their attitude. Food was well received by all that partook in the Taco bar that was ordered. Fresh Salsa and abundance of fresh chip.

Perhaps it was understaffed the night we went.Service was very slow. Drinks and Meals arrived long after being ordered. Meals for our party of five arrived 10 minutes apart. Food was tasty but overpriced.

First time here and was not disappointed. Found this place because of the ads on Instagram and the food looked good so figured we try it out. We arrived right before the dinner rush but this place became packed. Servers were very attentive and took our order minutes after being seated. Food came out fairly quick and was super hot and looked good on the plate. I ordered the Champion burrito with pork and Chile Relleno and my wife ordered the fish tacos. The burrito was so big I could only eat half. My wife liked the fish tacos with the exception of the flour tortillas instead of corn. Overall food and experience was very good. Will definitely be back.

Service was ok. Bathroom was clean, but had a chemical smell nor sure if it was detergent used. Outside dinning was available. Heaters were ok because they did not have enough to heat for everyone in our party. Service was not the best. Prices were great slightly higher than Im used to for the food. Food was good.

Our food was absolutely amazing today! I want to say Thank you to Alex for a wonderful job. Alex was so helpful with our mini catering order and he was able to accommodate the delivery to us here at City Of Hope. Thank you to the cooks the fajitas and all the fixings were yummy . We will order again soon . yuuuuuuummm :)

My first time here, friendly and very clean, priced right for 2021, had delicious mole enchiladas - see photo. Tasty chips and salsa.

I recommend the Tacos Mexicana (Carnitasand Chicken Quesadilla with all the trimmings on the side, they give generous portions and food is cooked well. I always get takeout from this place, and even though it usually takes a little longer than other places, like nearby competitors, I know its because the food is freshly prepared.

They have great food! I was there for my birthday and had the Champion burrito, queso fondido....delicious! They sang to me, it was a great time! I gave 4 stars because they took just a little bit too long to get our drinks out to us. We sat inside and it was not crowded but they have seating outside. Might be why we got off to a slow start? I really like their food, Ill be going back!

Great Fajitas!!! My wife had her "favorite salad ever!!" Super friendly staff, excellent food.

Came by for breakfast and some football. They have outside seating and TVs under the tent, so why not. They do follow social distancing rules and enforce masks, etc so all good from that perspective. Food was really good and they offer free chips and salsa, so great place to hang out for a bit to watch the game. The two knocks, which were not deal breakers but can use some improvement was service and the salsa. Service was hit and miss. Good when servers were around, but were MIA for long stretches. Probably inside in the A/C waiting for order and stuff, but hell, I would have preferred being inside with A/C on too on a hot Sunday morning. If we have to deal with the heat, I think the servers can do the same. Second was the salsa. I love onions, but both their green and red salsa was full of big chunks. My GF doesn’t like onions, so she couldn’t eat any of it and I had to work my way around it. Again, not deal breakers but certainly room for improvement.

My Mexican friend’s favorite Mexican restaurant. We just got a chance to try out this restaurant. They have two branches I am aware of, one in Duarte and the other one is in ARCADIA. But I heard they have two other locations in Pasadena and Irwindale as well.We dined in the Duarte one today for lunch. The restaurant provided outdoor dining with social distancing and disinfection measures. All waiters and waitresses wear masks and face shields.Foods are fantastic here. Personally I feel they have better Mexican foods then El Torito. My burrito came with great taste and a lot of fried beans and rice. My wife’s fajita was delicious with sizzling beef and veggies on the hot cast iron plate. The chips were a bit different than what I used to in other Mexican restaurants as it is quite thick. We ordered ice teas to cool ourselves down. Overall it was good food and a pleasant dining environment with good service.

Friendly service, delicious food. However, I did not see any notice of a 3% surcharge, and had I not paid attention to the check, I wouldnt even know I paid it. I think it should be posted somewhere, at the entrance or at the table.

So glad we stopped in to try! A cozy restaurant with great service, good food selection and delicious everything! The chips and salsa, especially the mild chunky salsa had great flavor, the chili relleno with enchilada combo was amazing and the carnitas chimichanga burrito was the best I ever had. Everything came fast and fresh, all workers were friendly, helpful and quick; it was a great dinner experience.

So Delicious OMG .... would definitely go back .... the flan was so delicious tasted just like custard 😍

Being a Saturday night, Cabreras was hopping and stomping with Karaoke, it was loud but fun to watch...mostly singing in Spanish...chips and salsa were great, wife & I split fajitas trio; tasty and delicious...enjoyed it and received excellent service, no attitudes...hats off to the waitresses who were as happy and cheerful as the atmosphere, made sure our water glasses were full, brought more chips and salsa, checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was fine and to Manny Cabrera for taking the time to introduce himself to us. We will be going back! Sorry cell phone battery was depleted; managed to only get 1 photo.
