Stylish, modern chain dining room with Pan-Asian cooking stations and global banquet options.
Nice busy restaurant and staff but food is flavourless and cheap processed meat we did not eat £19 worth of food. We had a small plate and didnt go back for more. I spat alot out as was fatty and yuck
Myself and my partner came to COSMO on the off chance on Sunday. We had to wait a little to be seated, but that was okay as we hadnt booked and the resturant was very busy! When it came time to be seated, we were taken to our seat than none other than a robot - a very smart Spark EPoS Kettybot. I had to laugh as I accidentally got in its way, and it told me to "get out of the way". Cute! I was also absoutley smitten with another robotic member of staff - another Spark EPoS bot, this one shaped slightly like a kitty cat! (Called a Bellabot)A male server immediatley tended to us and asked us what wed like to drink. He was lovely. We then went to get some food, and my... what choice! There were more things to choose from than I could shake a stick at. All of the food I had was delicious and flavourful - Ill have to admit, even the things I didnt like so much (just personal preferencewere very flavoursome. As for the food areas; everything was wonderfully clean and allergens clearly signposted. Food was clearly labelled, and again, there was so much choice! The staff could be seen throughout the resturant, tidying, cleaning spills immediatley, tending to guests, and clearing plates away. I saw servers laughing and conversing with guests as they collected things from tables - its lovely to see happy staff chatting with people. I was really impressed with the range of desserts too, and hey - theres a chocolate fountain!Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitley be coming again. Thank you to all of the staff of COSMO, human and otherwise, for a wonderful visit!
Got in quick , great service and tasty food 😋
So much food to choose from. Different varieties from all over the world. Fresh and all so great. You can eat until you explode. Lol They even have a chef cooking steak, prawns etc. fresh. The desserts are also included in the buffet so make sure to leave room. 5*
Very good food. Loved the Asian cuisines and variety. Must recommend on top of Tangs. Parking is an issue as the restra is just on the high-street. Use Q-park nearby and walk after food.
One of the best all-you-can-eat buffet places in the UK, Cosmos has a wide range of foods and includes some that are missing from other similar world buffet restaurants. The staff were all helpful and polite. The only negative was a personal preference, the tables are quite tightly packed together and this makes it feel cramped and a bit like a food hall.
We ate to our stomachs content. Decent range of dishes and some are cooked while you wait. Cocktails can be better but otherwise a pleasurable experience
First of all… great staff and nice place. The only reason I am giving it four star is because I would personally prefer a lot more variety of Indian food, Mediterranean food etc… otherwise no issues… well stocked on Asian food like Chinese, Thai and Japanese as well.
Lovely place, lots of cuisines to choose from and all the ones we tried were lovely. Extremely reasonably priced, considering the extensive options. Would highly reccomend.
Really enjoyable visit to COSMO. Good first impression as it was our first visit. Staff were all polite and friendly and super helpful. We had a lovely time for my daughters 18th. There was so much variety for food and she loved her visit
We had a nice experience, the waiter was lovely and there is a lot of food variety. The toilets were clean and the atmosphere was nice. The only thing which could be better is perhaps adding more choices for vegetarians. Other than that it was a good day out for us, we would be back😄
So many different dishes, you couldnt eat here if you were dieting. Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, English, American, barbecue, tepenyaki, sushi and desserts! Service not too engaging, but efficient. Really good place to eat if youre really hungry, good value for money.
When I heard about this place, I was quite skeptical, especially after some bad memories with some very low quality buffets in the past. But seeing pictures and reading reviews I thought I’ll give it a go and how happy I am that I did!The place is much bigger than I expected and they serve foods from different parts of the world. It’s the first buffet where I really couldn’t try all their dishes, and I am known for being able to eat a lot!The food was actually not the questionable quality you usually get in buffets and most of the times too sweet, but actually very tasty, with some dishes that really stood up for me for the right reasons (the lamb rogan rosh, the green Thai curry, the noodles). I was also pleasantly surprised by the deserts, a good variety of very tasty cakes, not overly sweet, a soft ice cream machine and a chocolate fountain. The only dishes which I think need some work are the Mexican ones.Other than that, it was an overall nice experience (kudos to the waiters as well, very polite and helpful)I’m looking forward to go there again!
Its really great to have a proper buffet. There would be long queue to get in so i would advise to book in a bit earlier. The staff were really good and very clean. There is choice of food from different Asian countries. The price is £19 and It gives you access to all the food from the buffet so no extra price and for the drinks you have to add extra. Highly recommended to you guys and overall everything was great.
I used to love coming here. I came here once pre and once post covid. Food was mediocre at best. Deserts were grim. Receptionist was not rude but was just not very attentive either. Just not what it used to be for me. The only good thing is it was very good value and reasonably for the selection of food that there is
Good times will be enjoyed by all whom dine here! A true gem 💎 of a buffet! So so much selection! Heaped fries 🍟 Delicious, plentiful and good value 😋
Absolutely disgusting experience! Ended up throwing up my whole plate of food and rushing up staff decided to just laugh at us and no offer a refund ended up having to go hospital for anaphylaxis shock so going to sue this company and majority of the food is raw when its not supposed to be. Gone down hill majorly would not recommend even to my worth enemy Absolutely disgusting place! Wish I work photos now definitely recommend taking photos for proof as stagg dont care how they treat people.
Posh place, looking really good and very polite and welcoming staff, various tipes of food from pork to beef all cooked differently, sea foods, cakes, fruits and a really nice chocolate fountain. Various drinks with decent prices, overall experience was pleasant, its worth it to have a go for a special night out.
Been here a few times as there is so much variety, you can visit in a group and all have completely different meals. Was disappointed by the lack of choice for main meals for my 4 year old - even the macaroni cheese had loads of peppercorns in it so he wouldnt eat it. The dessert options made up for that in some part - the chocolate fountain was a huge hit. The Indian choices were disappointing, we like creamy sauces and the curries were too spicy for us. The side dishes also had very heavy spices in, but the Chinese options were better. Sweet and sour chicken is normally my favourite but it had lots of pieces of batter without chicken inside, and the sauce was sickly sweet. The crispy duck and pancakes were amazing though. There is a lot of variety and you will always find something that you like, but this visit left us all a little disappointed. I dont like wasting food but there were a lot of half-eaten platefuls.
We went for dinner to this restaurant based on the feedback that the buffet here is mind blowing which it was. Its a sight to see the exhaustive spread and the variety available to satisfy all. The food was tasty and prepared very well. Overall a great experience and a must visit for all foodies.
This was my first visit to Cosmo. The whole family enjoyed the experience, the price is very reasonable, the staff were very friendly and the food was really good. Theres something for everyone and the children get to try new foods without the risk of having cooked a meal or ordered in. My only minor gripes were the queue to get in, having prebooked, and with the frequency the food containers were refilled. You couldnt necessarily get what you wanted without waiting a while and going back to try again. Will definitely be going back though.
Our friends took as here and I gave to admit that the food was really nice, lots of choice ! Indian , Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Japanese and British. Full on ! Huge selection of deserts. If its your birthday u eat for free !!
Not bad food but felt like I was eating in a school playground. Sat down at 9pm on a Saturday so not exactly family time either. Children running all over the place and sneezing on the food ruined the experience. Felt robbed of £20 left hungry because it was so weird. Wouldn’t recommend unless you like eating in a soft play center setting
You can always find an amazing meal at this place but some of it is hit and miss. Today was a disappointment because the chocolate fountain was out of order, pizza was dry and the Mac and cheese not very cheesy so my kids were limited in their choices. Kids options could be improved.I’ll still return because generally it’s really good, the food is cooked well and it’s good value for money when you’re going as a family.
Its an all-you-can-eat buffet so dont go expecting the ritz. But what they offer, they do very well. Its a good selection, staff are friendly and I ate until my belly burst.
The food was good but it’s quite small compared to other COSMO restaurants I’ve been ( and it was a bit priceyI think they should change the table organisation- my partner and I couldn’t hear each other because we was surrounded by big groups of tables that were very loud. Maybe they could separate big groups from small.Staff was friendly.
All you can eat always good, I like the hash browns and the desserts, the best soft serve ice cream and a variety of cake slices. Great grill for squid and pork. Large selection of dishes and desserts.
The only eat all you can I can enjoy. Lots of food selections from different cuisine (Indian, Chinese, Japanese - forgive me if I forgot the other cuisines), but I do hope they add more cuisine to make it more diverse. They also discount for birthdays and nhs staff as well. Make sure to book your table if you want to eat here and inform them that it is your birthday on that day to ensure a discount 😅 all in all, great place! You can also enjoy variety of desserts. You also need to pay extra for the bottomless drinks if you want one. 🙂 food wise, it’s good! 👍🏻 I am not a massive eater, so forgive me if I have small portions of meals on my plate. 😂 other photos are from my friends.
Had GOOD FOOD but BAD EXPERIENCE.There were lots of food choices, refilled fast, spacious seating but unprofessional staff. We had reservation for 7 people for dinner - restaurant was not that busy but staff was not easy to call out. Then when it’s time to pay, we corrected it since they charged us more but less people didn’t have bottomless drinks so we told to change it then the waitress came back and told us: “Next time guys, tell us how many people are having bottomless drinks (with rude tone)” - is that proper to tell your customers that? If we were Brits maybe she won’t tell us that 😒 it’s just sad to be treated that way when we chose to celebrate our birthday there. 😔 because of this, we won’t recommend this place to our friends.
Good value, good choice. Bottomless coke was flat, and the mix was a little watery but not too bad. No T spoons for the smaller desserts and the staff were disinterested in finding any. Chocolate fountain not working but pooled Chocolate could be scooped up.
Ingrid is the most amazing host I have ever come across. I was meant to write a review regarding her hospitality after my first visit but forgot. And now we are returning again to Cosmo Reading and I must say a big reason for that is Ingrid herself. Thank you ingrid for looking after the 14 of us :)
COSMO is a great restaurant. The variety of food such as Chinese, Thai, Japanese, ... the food is excellent and easy to enjoy. The service staff is also very friendly, always smiling and helping customers. Especially, Dorjana she was amazing and made my evening very happy. The restaurant deserves 5 stars. Awsome, thanks for everything. 🤩🤩🤩
My son and i have been going to Cosmo for years and over time and ironically since the onset of Covid and everything that went with that, Cosmo really came out on top of their game. Week after week and no matter the time of day they deliver probably the best all you can eat dining experience bar none. We have tried the competition and there is a lot of horrendous restaurants that simply cannot compete and still charge the same or more for a worse experience all round. This is not the place for name dropping but we will leave it there for now. My son and i know good from bad and also know that Cosmo is excellent, period! We have obviously become regulars and we have a good repartee with many of the really friendly staff within. Ingrid at front of house, in particular is extremely professional and excellent at her job and will always go the extra mile to make sure your dining experience is as good as it can be. A family friendly restaurant that caters for every taste and we often bump into people who have tried the rest and never the best, but all agree on one thing, Cosmo is the best out there bar none ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A wonderful selection of Asian cuisine with small selection of squid, prawns and frying steak at the Tepannyaki. Main food selection delectable and varied. Dessert not to my liking but fine if you like very sweet cakes and ice cream
I can be wary of buffets; cold food of questionable age, very salty and slimy. But Cosmo were a real pleasant surprise. Friendly staff, wide range of drinks and of course food to suit every palate. Chinese, Indian, British, American, Thai plus a wide range of dessert options too. Will definitely return.
Sunday Full costs £19 for each adult and this gives you access to all you can eat.I ate all kinds of food and they all tasted good. Drinks are paid for separately except for water.
Well, it was so so... Inside really dark.. And how the tables are arranged its making your eating experience uncomfortable... The food as well it wasnt the best. Rice and noodels pretty dry.. The ribs been very tasty though and they had really good and fresh watermelon chunks for dessert.... But the whole experience I would rate 6 out of 10.
Visits normally good but my last visit on Saturday wasnt good.Plenty of choice of food. I had some chicken tikka which looked and smelt lovely however clearly wasnt cooked properly as I ended up with a really upset stomach about an hour after my visit. It was clearly the curry that was the cause.Desserts used to be suitable for someone with a nut allergy but allergen labeling had changed drastically. This time I could only have ice-cream and jelly which isnt good for someone with a very sweet tooth.Very expensive meal out. Not sure Id go back given how unwell I was after my previous visit and how much I paid for the privilege.
I joined a group of friends. We were celebrating a wedding. The beauty of Cosmo is guests can select the food they like & try different cuisines. The cost of £21 each isnt bad considering we have three courses
The good the bad and the uglyThe GoodWonderful lively atmosphereAwesome variety of mostly Asian foods.. Its ethnic tapas on steroidsThe turkey and beef carvery were pretty good tooIts all you can eat..and eat all I could I definitely did.Great variety of desertsThe badIt costs £20 a head and the drinks are expensive so go there when your hungry and prepared to eat.Its tight for space with tables close togetherThe uglyThere wasnt any. All the staff are pretty good looking too.Would highly recommend
good Oriental foodPork Ribs, Satay, Calamari, Prawns are the best..don’t try Indian (not as good as in any Indian Restaurant)
Very nice place. Very big choice of food from different Adian countries even Roadt with Yorkshire pudding. We selebrating our grandson birthday and he had birthday s treat!
Up from 3 stars. Better experience than the first time. Kind staff, range of choices. Could add fish.Server Cara was brilliant!
Great place for family celebrations. We celebrated my mums birthday here✨ the staff were very accommodating where they helped us choose a quite table and they prepared the birthday candles 🎂 that was soo kind from them! The food was delicious and they had a halal options which was great 👍🏼 the verity was amazing where there was something for each member of our family to enjoy 🤍 there was eastern food, Asian dishes and many more. The desserts 🍨 area was very nice and they were delicious. The interior is also beautiful and the lighting and decor gives a nice calming vibe and the seats are very comfortable. Service is also very fast 💨.Overall it’s an amazing place here in Reading and I recommend making a reservation a head so you won’t have to wait!
Friendly welcome from staff and an efficient service throughout. Lots of choice, although some dishes much better than others. Satay chicken and the curries were decent, with plenty of dessert choices. Would visit here again.
A great buffet and on the most part, fantastic food, reasonable pricing, and very professional service and staff.I highly recommend the Chinese food including the prawns, salt and pepper chicken, and amazing fried rice. The Chinese is what I had most of because it was certainly the best, but there were some other foods like the samosa and deep fried items. However I wasnt overly impressed with the cuisines such as Mexican and the Indian, and the pizza wasnt great either. I think that for a place like this, the focus was lost in some of the other cuisines and they specialise mostly in their Chinese food. Finally, the Pina Colada was decent and the desserts were good, maybe slightly on the sweeter side but some excellent cheesecake all the same.On the whole I would definitely recommend it for groups and those who like Chinese cuisine.
A Bit of a queue to get in, so I would advise to book in advance. But the food variety was great and I really liked some of them. The cocktails were great too. Definitely recommend the shrimp!
I have tried many buffet restaurants. This one is just overrated. Its below average restaurant with low quality cheap food. Another Buffet in Bracknell is much better. So, COSMO restaurant, never again.
It’s really great to have a proper buffet in the crisis of corona restrictions.. their system is really good and very clean and well sanitized. Had a wide variety in the starter side. Shredded duck was incredible. Sushi selections were also good. Almost all the chicken items were really juicy which liked. The teriyaki counter had less options but they were tasty and very quick serve. Loved the red velvet cheese slice. Love to see some more main course items. Great service and very friend stuffs.
Cosmo was always a good place to go for all the family or as a romantic meal before a movie. Even a lunchtime buffet for a business meeting. Its clean and ridiculously organised. Theyre cleaning the tables and sitting the next customer even before your chair goes cold. Me and my partner turned up during a Saturday lunchtime with no reservation and was sat immediately even though they looked busy. Their one way system and asking you to use their single use clothes for every trip to the buffet makes you feel very safe. Dozens of sanitiser stations everywhere. The food in my view is a solid 8/10 for taste and presentation. But a 10/10 for effort and variety. A buffet is not gunna be as fresh as a restaurant, but they pull it off to almost a close match. A little pricey, but the same youd spend on a 3 course anywhere else. Chips, pizza and basic for the fussy kids, sushi and Indian for a taste of the Eastern and everything in between. Highly recommended for a special night out or a lunchtime get together. Maybe not a party for the 1.5 hour time limit may be a push.
