CICADA - Mediterranean restaurant in Nishishinminato, Japan
This is my favorite place in aoyama always! Highly recommend for a relaxed and delicious meal! Staff is very welcoming and friendly! Thank you so much Kimura and Chihiro for yet another wonderful experience
Nice and cozy ambience. A good measure of a high fancy western style restaurant. High class but not pretentious. Foreigner friendly. Not too pricey for the quality it delivers.100% recommended.
Easily one of the best Mediterranean food places in Tokyo. A bit pricey, but great food and great terrace. The grilled pumpkin was simply amazing
Great atmosphere and very intimate. We ordered the 8000 yen course, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a little bit unfortunate we got here at 9pm and the waiters were rushing to close the restaurant so they brought out food constantly even when we didn’t finish the previous course.
Exquisite in every sense of the word! From the service, to the ambience to the amazing cuisine CICADA is definitely 5 STAR ⭐️ in every regards.Hospitality GM Brendhan was professional, polite & most personable. He shared several great anecdotes about CICADA & my family were all so impressed! We left with our bellies full & most content/satisfied. CICADA is extraordinary & worth your time & money
Amazing find. everything was delicious from the wine to every piece of food. Service was discreet and hyper pro
the prices of the dishes are a little expensive but the food was delicious, the staff were not very nice, they forgot the water and took a long time to give the food menu, but otherwise the place is beautiful!
Amazing place in the heart of Aoyama. Staff are generally polite but probably lack of experience so service is not excellent. Managers are a bit cold could smile more and be more warmhearted for my personal taste. Food is very good. Interiors are very very nice, but expecially love terrace seats and pool side sofas. Of course it comes with a price but you dont pay only your food here.Last but not least, they have very few vegan options.Salad, asparagus, pasta, bread. But why on the earth you put yogurt inside hummus??
Went for lunch today. Been away for over two years due to the pandemic. Food is just as good. I had the lunch set with bread, 4 different kind of tapas, entree (lamb chops), cheese plate and coffee. Service is superb. Price has gone up quite a bit, yet still reasonable. This is my favorite place for Mediterranean/Spanish food in Tokyo. Highly recommend.
This is my all time favorite restaurant in Tokyo - something I don’t say lightly. Apart from the beautiful interior and outdoor seating area, the service is always professional and leaves me feeling very calm to enjoy my food. What prompted me to write a review today particularly was when I dropped my used napkin on the floor, and a server swooped in to pick it up before I could 😂 so extremely attentive, I’m impressed. Food is absolutely delicious - I would say there are mostly big hits (in love with the hummus and house flatbread out of all thingsand a few so-so dishes (ie the tagine isn’t super authentic but still ok), but regardless come back here time and time again. A wonderful place for dates (the night time atmosphere — are you kidding? So gorgeous), nice lunches, and drinking. I would say this is a fancy but rather approachable restaurant, it doesn’t feel too uptight like other upscale places, but still enough where you feel comfortable. I will always come here again 🤍
Great atmosphere with great food!Staff were super nice! The wine was amazing too.
A beautiful restaurant with great food!
Terrible service. The staff are not hospitable.Have eaten here three times and it’s always the same. This time we were trying to have lunch in the very casual open entrance area got turned away because we had our 3yo daughter with us.Cicada: lighten up - kids aren’t that bad and they are more fun than your staff.
Had dinner with my friend. Food and service were splendid! It suits for any occasion such as birthday and date;Scallops risotto is very good.At dinner, the bread will be charged JPY500.
Fabulous Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Aoyama ! Great ambiance and mood. Great location and very nice area to walk around !The food can be in tapas style or in course. Good for sharing portions.Tajine is very good as well as the sword fish ! The bread is all you can eat and the ice tea!Great for friends dinner or for date spot.Wines are great but for soft drinks I recommend you the home made ginger ale !
It is not often that u get to go to a restaurant u would call "Fancy", but this one definitely deserves the title. Excellent service through and through, dishes are exquisitely delicious, wine selection is wide and interesting. With a good company, this is a place to visit. Not cheap by any measure, but not obscenely expensive and definitely something everyone should experience.
One of my favorite spots for a leisurely lunch or dinner in Tokyo! It feels like a bit of a getaway - the restaurant ambiance reminds me of one that would be at a resort! On nice days, the outdoor seating is lovely. My most recent visit I enjoyed the set course lunch. My favorites were the scallops, lamb skewers, and matcha crème brûlée. I also enjoyed a light and refreshing rosemary Moscow Mule. The staff is consistently so helpful and kind. If you are planning on visiting definitely make a reservation.
Nice location and good quality of the food!Suggested to eat in the terrace!
Very nice restaurant with good service. They really take care of you from the moment you step into the restaurant.I recommend going on a weekday lunch for the best value and to also make a reservation if possible. The food was delicious and we were served in a timely manner despite it being the lunch rush. Would recommend to anyone looking for a slightly fancier lunch than usual!
Friendly and attentive staffs.Delicious desserts!Clean, nice and cozy restaurant.
Attentive staff. Delicious authentic Mediterranean cuisine and reasonably priced, especially lunch course. I love their lamb tagine and grilled lamb chop a lot! People said APOLLO is the best Mediterranean restaurant but I think CICADA is the best. Will continue to dine at CICADA in the future.
Absolutely delicious meal! Wonderful Mediterranean there restaurant with fresh and flavorful dishes. So nice to enjoy these special flavors in Japan. The scallops were my favorite but everything is a must try! The plates are small so be aware but I did the set menu and was very satisfied and full after all the courses.
I loved the atmosphere and interior design.. their lamb tagine is perfect and we also had the Greek salad tapas.. everything was excellent.
Wonderful Mediterranean food served in a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant was buzzing on Sunday afternoon and we arrived early, which, after a short wait, they were able to accommodate. We loved the hummus and flatbread, along with the Greek Salad and the Scallop Risotto. You absolutely need a reservation on the weekend. We will be back!
Great spot for lunch or dinner. The lunch set course is superb value for what you get and the food is delicious. On a nice sunny day would recommend to book outside on the terrace. Bookings definitely necessary! This is a popular spot.
Beautiful ambience with both indoor and outdoor seating. Very unique cuisine and everything tasted so delicious. This place has got both restaurant and a cafe..!! Highly recommend to visit here..!!
We came for lunch on Sunday and got our order very fast, despite the restaurant being busy.We had Greek salad, hummus with flat bread, seafood tagine and scallops with risotto. It was delicious. We were in a hurry so didnt have desserts.Would definitely love to come for dinner
Very nice experience. Scallop risotto is perfectly cooked. Good customer service. Recommend for couple or group dining
Best hummus in Tokyo, stellar vibe, classic date spot, and interesting wines by the glass and bottle.Recommend: hummus, muhammara, saganaki (that they seem to have taken off the menu - PLEASE BRING IT BACK!), zucchini cakes, greek salad, snapper. Skip: babaganoush.
Must visit in Tokyo.Great food, drinks and ambience.Impeccable service at the highest level possible in the world. Specifically Tetsuya-san who had the most professional and friendly service made our night. His wine and food recommendation hit the perfect spot complementing the food and occasion.I would say this restaurant is a can’t miss spot in Japan.
Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Took my chances with doing a walk-in and was surprised to be seated within 2 mins of arrival. The atmosphere here is just amazing and you can really see they put a lot of detail into the design of the restaurant. The staff are extremely attentive and will ask if you need any assistance several times. The selection of food on the menu is plenty but do expect to pay a higher price. The portions vary by dish. The swordfish steak pictured below for $24/2400 yen seemed a bit high in relation to the portion. But my fri nds fish of the day for the same price was a bigger portion. That being said, the swordfish was delicious as well as the cous cous my friend had ordered. Come here hungry or come here with a semi full stomach. I highly recommend this restaurant especially if youd like to have an only ladys night out.
This is fancy and elegant restaurant!! It’s really good atmospheric place!! In the evening the candles make great room!!!!!! It’s romantic place . I felt I am in a resort in a Europe county. Really nice place and good for date. Foods are also perfect!! I had really yum seafoods plate. Enjoy!
Nice mediterranean restaurant near Omotesando station. Has a terrace tables, you get to enjoy good food and drink in the open air environment.
My new favorite place. We went on Monday lunch time and the restaurant is packed. Great vibe with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Quality of food is justifiable for the price. Everything was delicious. Lunch course was 3,900¥ which include unlimited flatbread+hummus, choice of appetizer, choice of main dish, choice of dessert and coffee or tea.
Great ambiance, great food 👌🏻 quite pricey for a lunch course. ¥5000/person.Pretty hard to reserve the outside seats but I’d recommend them since the indoor lighting is pretty dim. Well, I guess good for romantic dates but definitely al fresco if you’re with girl friends.
Very nice restaurant in aoyama. They have many healthy food from Mediterranean area. I recommend to you to try risotto.
You can also visit here in Lunch place. Go when weather is great and take outside seat. Price is bit high but worth it. Inside seat is also huge and dinner menu is great with Mediterranean area menu. Employees have proper manner. Will visit this place again
I loved this place. I loved all the dishes I ordered. You must try the bread and dips. This was my first visit to an authentic Mediterranean restaurant. The staffs seemed to be confusing a lot with our orders, maybe because of the language gap as all the staffs could speak Japanese. The non alcoholic drinks are not good, I tried 3 from their menu but none of them were satisfying. You can order hot tea though, as they have amazing flavours.
A favourite in Tokyo! This is part of a family of restaurant brands in Tokyo - TY harbour, Ivy Place etc. all great!
Amazing restaurant. Great atmosphere, kind service, delicious food and drink. Price is not reasonable, but totally great.
Stunning place with the most amazing terrace for a fresh dinner. This place is all about the wine, with a huge selection of old world ones, and a few new world exceptions.Although everything they cook looks and smells amazing, I recommend tou try the scallop risotto if you are hungry, or go lighter by ordering tapas if you feel like trying a few different things (their simple manchego cheese and dates tapa is absolutely delightful).
Been here few times, quality and taste is excellent. Highly recommend Lamb Chops..
Outstanding Mediterranean cuisine. Great service and love the outdoor seating. Lots of shared plates to try. Don’t pass on the prosciutto stuffed calamari. It’s delicious.
Awesome place with a fantastic atmosphere and delicious food, highly recommended. The price tag wasnt exorbitantly expensive for the quality of food, the atmosphere and the friendly service. My new favorite restaurant. Absolutely recommend the chickpea hummus with flatbread, and the spinach with currants and pine nuts!
Fantastic Restaurant. The atmosphere is second to none and the food is unreal. Great English service here as well. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a date spot and great Mediterranean food.
In love. Great date spot. So many tapas options. Not ridiculously expensive. So many different types of seating options and environments within the restaurant that you could visit 4-5 different times and have a completely new experience. Extensive menu with many options of different tapas and mains. Recommend getting a mix of tapas and a bottle of champagne. Romantic. Enjoy with dear friends or your +1.Note - walking directions in google maps are slightly off. Cicada is directly behind the building that the map ends at. Walk around the building and you’ll find a small alley that’ll lead you to Cicada.
Would recommend making a reservation on the weekends as it tends to get crowded. The food was really good and the terrace seats were nice. The scallops in the risotto were really well done and the Portuguese spicy chicken was very juicy.
great atmosphere - very romantic and lively. we didn’t sit outside but it looked like it’d be nice in the spring or fall. the food is also very good, in particular the lamb chops and the pita with hummus and babaganoush. a lot of mediterranean flavors that are hard to come by in tokyo.the only thing that was subpar was the couscous, which was dry and flaky (almost like panko- it was supposed to be eaten with the stew but it added nothing to the dish. i honestly preferred the stew alone.it’s pricey, but not unreasonable for the quality. dinner for two came to ~¥11,000, but we also avoided the pricier dishes. this is a good spot for a slightly upscale date.
Fancy venue to gather with family or friends. A bit pricy and quantity in the plate is small but the taste is amazing. Real Mediterranean cuisine, worth trying. Enjoy a savoury meal at Cicada.
we missed the restaurant as it closed at 3:00pm (take note to find out when you are comingbut was able to enjoy a late lunch in the outdoors patio. Was a nice but limited choice of food in menu that was exceptional upon delivery. We tried the veggie burger and club sandwich and both hit the spot, great fries (shoestring and salted, and good beer from TY Harbor brewery on Tennouzu Island.
