Stewart St &, Roberts St, Brunswick East VIC 3057, Australia, Northcote
Unique, non-profit centre offering an organic grocery & cafe, nursery & environmental education.
A good park for learning about the environment
Great place for plants and advice. We got worms for out garden here as well
A must visit my partner and I come all the time. It also has a great nursery.
It was wonderful to return after two and a half years and to see that even lock downs did not stop the many projects going on. Lots of progress noticed. My recognition.
Has improved alot. New Cafe and Nursery etc. I took photos with My Canon E.O.S 600D Camera. I went to CERES Community Environment Park with Out Doors Inc.
I like CERES. It is a local community garden and grow fruit and vegetables. It is educational; a lot of children there on day I was there. Its set on and above the local creek. I checked both cafes. Coffees good, can sit on balcony. Tasty sandwich at lower outdoor cafe. Theres always something happening here.
Beautiful, tranquil, urban oasis. Get a beautiful coffee, a bite to eat, some awesome arts and crafts, a great selection of plants and then chill out and listen to the frogs. Its all good!
I always feel "at peace", and "at home" when I spend time at Ceres. Thank you for making the spaces available, and the maintenance, shows, events, and permaculture you make available to everyone. Especially appreciate being able to take a quiet walk with a dog on lead through the grounds.
Great place to walk around with friends and grab a coffee and a toastie from the cafe. Such a nice place to have so close to the city
Fun 4 kids big n small
Im a regular visitor of Ceres Community Park and love the nature of this Park and the gardens.Including information about nature, water facilities, gardening and maintenance. There is a nursery and 2 beautiful cafes. Opportunities for voluntary work as well.
Good service, many healthy options at the cafe, organic fruit and vegies for sale
Niche community park with services designed around sustainable living. The coffees in an edible cup is a great initiative. Cafe unfortunately only caters for vegetarian/vegan diet except for ham & cheese croissants (odd choice). Most produce in the grocery store is made/sourced locally, great initiative.
Great for school kids to learn about the history of Australia and the culture of their indigenous ancestors. I definitely learnt a lot, especially the number of languages spoken prior to Caucasian settlement.
Love the open spaces, cafe and organic produce. The grounds themselves could do with a bit of a clean up though 🙂
If you like gardening and are interested in environmental sustainability, then you’ll want to visit CERES.There are two cafes to whet your appetite and always something to see and or do.
This place is a quirky blend of environmentalism and aesthetic natural surroundings. It is rustic, authentic and functions as a powerful education centre for Melbourne. While not slick, it models possibilities of land use and what educational spaces could resemble for other communities with like passions and vision. Serving school groups and open to general public. To be honest, Ive just scratched the surface.
An oasis. A beautiful space, loved the veggie gardens, seeing the chooks. Nursery is fabulous and the food at the Cafe just yum. A quality place.
Amazing place for a day out. Theres hidden cafes, community garden, and amazing bike paths for you to explore. If its a sunny day and youve got good company, this place is a must visit.
Great relaxing community garden space with playgrounds for kids, chooks, a saturday market and great cafes. Ideal for a family outing.
A quality little park and community area to explore. The overgrown old tram was beautiful. Lots of stuff for the kids to explore. Big playground and mountain to climb. The eco cafe/shop was a little over priced but they have some good stuff and the coffee was tasty. Toilets and parking available.
Excellence example of a community-run urban city farm. Lots of funky little buildings, spaces, and plantings etc. Visit, experience, and learn.Book shop, nursery, cafe/restaurant and produce shop on site.
The cafe was good, its a chill place you can just wander into with the young family in tow. You can stroll about, get a coffee and a snack and maybe chat with some like minds.
Wonderful community space in the middle of Melbourne. Fantastic playground, lots of chooks and crops, great little cafe
Great workshop with Tiger Tribe and the Eco Crusaders . Explored around the CERES and thought it was great to help teach the kids more about the environment.
Great atmosphere. Lovely organic place. Something for everyone. Prices are a bit high in grocery and cafe, but all organic stuff are these days.
Such a pretty natural space in an urban environment. Cafes are lovely with delicious food. Our babies loved having fun in the gardens.
A great place to explore community and environment. Great Nursery and very of the earth. Great destination bike ride place along the Merri Creek.
Took a cheese making course with my wife here. Janet was fantastic. Her course was fun and gave me the knowledge to start making my own cheese at home. My wife and I had a great time and will definitely be back for more courses in the future. If youre looking for a great gift idea or just want to have a bite to eat CERES Community Environment Park is your place to be.
Greatly improved over the decades. Now with two cafes, a green grocer of their own produce, and Saturday market
Excellent Cafe, shops & interesting walks. Inspired gardening and sustainable living ideas to suit most.Moderate accessibility due to some gravel paths.
Had a catch up with my cousin, met up at CERES really loved this place, they have a restaurant, nursery and market place where you can buy veggies and health products, highly recommend this place , will go there again 😀
Lovely to wander around, so peaceful and tranquil. Nursery is a delight, with a great range of plants. A must to consider when doing the rounds of neighbourhood nurseries!
Always a relaxed and interesting place to pass some time. Stopped by the Cafe for a snack after visiting the nursery and ordered, by phone app at the table, and ordered a chai latte and vegetable slice. Service was quick and friendly even though they had a sign up they were short staffed. Worth a visit.
One of my Melbourne Happy Places. You can always find a quiet spot to reflect, a community with which to engage, a playground for the kids or a delicious bite to eat in the cafe or from the fruit m vege hut.Ceres, youve been here for forever it seems but you seem to get better and better. See you again soon.
The grocery and the cafe have a peaceful environment and the staff is very caring. The restaurant was also good at some other we have visited. Brief animal farm experience with the chicken hen and the upcycled playground is a unique area to take your little ones. People should be more accurate using the recycling and the compost bins though. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Wonderful stalls with interesting local clothes, jewellery and even microbats. Loved the cheese toastie. Peaceful walk along Merri creek too.
Absolutely love this place and what it stands for. The plant nursery is lovely and the staff are all very helpful. I keep going back for the good vibes.
Come here if you have an hour or two to spend . When you step into Ceres the first think you need to check out is the cafe and local organic produce section . There are probably more chickens than seated guests in the cafe . There are trails that lead onto separate neighbourhood reserves with a good handful of inclination and hills . So make sure you wear good shoes
Its a great place too break up the walk along the merri Creek trail and grab a great coffee and some delicious food, have a wonder around checking out the displays and gardens some animals and local wildlife can be seen
Its a good place to roam around, enjoy nature and also to catch-up with frens. Having 2 cafe on-site is a big plus. Also check out their Nursery as it have lots of Tassie native plants seeds.
This place is awesome. Expensive, but awesome. Cafe makes good coffee, the shop has since good unique stuff in there, chooks all over the place, nice environment. Parking is touch n go depending on when you come but there is parking up the street. Id recommend yes. I love the fact that they have an EV charging station out the front and a lot of solar.
Went on Monday and it was very quiet. Great if you want to have a walk around without people and buzz. Grocery store was a bit smaller than Id imagine, but still worth a visit for organic vegetables and other organic and home made edibles like trail mix, honey, chocolate, etc. There are other products too worth checking out too if you like natural products. Good coffee but didnt try the food. I think younger kids would like this place - theres even a sand pit with toy trucks. Check out the photos to get a sense of what Ive described. Friendly staff and people here, worth a visit especially if youre in the vicinity.
Awesome place in this central location where you can get a great meal, good coffee, an ice cream for the road and also pick up the groceries.Great place for kids with heaps to amuse them while you catch up with a friend. The atmosphere is particularly friendly and car parking is adequate inside or in the street outside.
Absolutely 👌. Jazz music on Wednesday and Saturday, beautiful courtyard, organic groceries shop had a cafe - byo mugs, sustainable practices, community gardens, propagation workshops, Indonesian garden (wasn’t opened), surrounded by chooks and birdlife. Also a bike repair workshop. Solar-farming. Electric vehicles welcome to pump. A little village, practically if not fully self-sustaining, we reckon? Amazing work.
I love the markets (amazing crafts on offer!!and the amazing nursery and their books and other wonders for sale. I come here for eco training, workshops and events, school holiday programs and occasionally a casual visit (I live on the other side of town).
Awesome vibe, beautiful gardens and surroundings. The grocer shop has a great range of organic and local goods and produce, including bulk grains, honey, eggs, tea and herbs. Theres a calendar of events with music and markets at different times.
Great experience with very friendly interactions. Restaurant, nursery, market and grocery all were worth the visit as was a general walk around.
This wonderful place rich and full of many organic and engaging activities for all ages, a paradise from the outer edges of Melbourne city. Recomded for all, a must for all!
Ceres is wonderful, we order their veg box plus lots of extras every week and visit as often as we can. Theres lots to see and do, the cafe and farmers markets are a standout.
