The place was comfortable with great foods. We sit out side but if we go back will stay in side. It’s humid and some mosquito is not friendly like staffs.

Overpriced and poor quality food. The pancakes are hard and dry, and the buffet is tiny with maybe 8 options total.

I wish there were more entree-style options on the lunch menu. All they really had were appetizer, 1 salad, tacos and sandwiches. I prefer a piece of meat with some sides, which only the kids menu offered the grilled chicken. The breakfast and the dinner menus looked much better, and they brought back their weekend brunch buffet, which I remember offered a large selection of tasty food. Will be back because the food is still better than what they offer at the pool/beach.

*IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING FOR RESTAURANT WEEK, DONT*They said that for the $50/person we would get a family style meal, but we just shared small portions of plates that were obviously for one person. The burrata and filet mignon were good but not worth the money. The chocolate cake was bad, microwave mug cakes are better than this. We went to Burger King after this.

We made a reservation for the tasting menu and when we sat down we were told they dont do that anymore. They were out of 25% of entrees and desserts on the menu. Didnt feel like a cohesive experience. Was it supposed to be tapas or family style? Was hard to tell because they suggested 2 of the filet mignon "plate" for two people when we had ordered another "plate" and apps to share.Overall, the food and vibe were fine but the experience lacked identity. It was marketed online as a unique experience but was just a basic hotel restaurant.

We’ve eaten here 3 days in a row for breakfast and it has been amazing. All of it! Veronica was our server the last two times and treated very well. She taught us a lot about the culture, where to go and what to do. We also got to meet Anthony the Food and Beverage director who was very kind and informational as well. We will definitely be back. I think I found a 2nd home. Gracias Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

Had a very poor experience at brunch today (Saturday). I made a reservation for 10:30. When we got there they told us it was buffet only $35 adults $16 kids. Ok it looked alright. They took away bacon and never refilled it. Pancakes as well. So I paid $35 for an omelet and some fruit and a pineapple juice. My kids did enjoy it. Nice ambiance out by the pool and the waitress was kind but not worth it unless you can order off the menu. As we left we saw some folks having salads and burgers by the pool bar and looked far better. Self parking was convenient but the machine to exit didn’t work and wouldn’t take a credit card (even though it acted like it would). After talking (in Spanishto 4 people who all pointed us to someone else we just went out the employee gate. Do better Fairmont. A poor end to a wonderful 40th birthday week in PR.

The waiters are very slow, the food is good but in the menu you just have like 6 or 7 options. The view was nice and the hotel to but the should improve that. We ordered like avocado salad and pizza.

Ramen tasted like miso soup and was expensive. We didn’t eat it even though we ordered two bowls. (Didn’t send it back either but waiter did not comment on the fact that we didn’t eat it). The avacado flat bread was excellent and we ordered it twice. Tried wings etc. $17 mojito no thanks. Go across the street to Chilis for better food.

Good food. Terrible service. Waited 2 hours for the food. If youre understaffed then dont accept so many reservations. Give your staff better training. Figure it out. Right now your business model needs serious improvement.

We went for breakfast and it was just okay. The views were great but the service was not. The restaurant wasn’t busy. I think they forgot to put our order in because we waited 35 mins for food and my boyfriends potatoes were still raw on the inside like it was rushed. One piece of avocado toast with an egg costs $19. It’s really just hotel food. Nothing special.

So for starters, I came here with my boyfriend for his birthday and the service wasn’t great. It was very disappointing. The prices are ridiculous for the type of quality food you get. The Mofongo is so bland and lacks flavor. The steak, rice and shrimp was also lacking flavor. The manager came up to us and asked how everything was going, we brought up our concerns and all we got was a “I am so sorry”, she didn’t care to fix the problem… just walked off. The hotel is so beautiful though, but this restaurant should be replaced with another, honestly. There’s so many other restaurants you can go to with better service and better food😁

the experience at Caña was fantastic during our entire stay. Jannette was our waitress multiple times during our stay and was awesome and added an extra something special to the dining experience, she was kind and attentive. All the staff are friendly from the moment you walk in. The best atmosphere out of all the restaurants in the FAIRMONT El San Juan Hotel.

BAD. Absolutely not worth it, AVOID at all cost. I could go on and on about how terrible it was from start to finish between the service, the food, the manager, and the menu. Embarrassing excuse for a tasting menu and restaurant, save yourself the stress and go literally anywhere else.

Menu is too limited, even for a restaurant that wants to look fine cuisine. Food is unnecessarily overpriced, i.e. Ive never seen such a small red snapper "for two"!!! Service is meh.Youd do better somewhere else.

Brought my father to enjoy fathers day and by the time we left he was feeling like we hated him. The food did not live up to the high prices of the restaurant, the waiting time for the dishes are even more astronomical that the prices and the waiter rarely came back to refill our drinks even if it was water. My honest suggestion for anyone that decides to eat here dont try the ramen it taste like salad vinagrette rather than actual ramen.

Not super impressed by the place. It does have a good vibe and the service is awesome, but the food was not all that. Actually it was a huge disappointment. We ordered garlic fries that were literally floating in oil. The chicken in spicy chicken burger was extremely tough and dry.

Came to this place with the friends. Waitress was rushing us through the order then forgets to put my steak in order. Had to wait an extra 30 minutes for a medium well steak after everyone eats food. Once got my steak was rushed on eating and getting bill situated by them turning lights off and on while sti in restaurant. They could not figure out how to split bill and we made it easy by numbering every item. Will not come back again.

Absolutely amazing! From the valet, to the hostesses, to the waiter, everyone we encountered was so welcoming, nice, and personable. We were greeted by everyone we came in contact with and directed to where we were trying to go. They all made us feel like they were appreciative of our business. Our waiter, Frederico, came to us almost as soon as we were seated and explained the menu to us. He took our orders and the food came out very shortly after. It was hot, delicious, and we both had great portions. It was my birthday and they gave me a complimentary virgin piña colada! We were seated right in front of the pool and the view was beautiful. We will definitely be back if we come to PR again!

Not sure where to start. This must be one of the worst overpriced restaurant in the history of all restaurant visited in any Europe or USA vacation ever . What makes it even more bad is that the Food was not good and the food serving per plate is very small for the price . After attending this place all 6 of us stayed hungry and $350 Loss and ended in another better food place for alot better price. This place does not deserve 5 star but will say service is good is just the food was a total joke .

Not bad but not worth the money. The presentations of food is nice, but taste ordinary.A bit disorganized because of COVID. We waited 25 mins with a reservation and they never called or texted when a table was available. The waiter didn’t come to fill our water during the meal. We also waited more than half hour to get our check.

Went for breakfast. The menu was not as big as I liked. I got the acai bowl, it was mainly yogurt and really not a lot put into it, The place was beautiful and as is the San Juan hotel. I was truly disappointed after reading reviews of the place and Chef. Mimosas were $17 each, thats pretty insane

I am giving this place five stars because the service is wonderful and I think the food is decent. The manager, along with the entire staff is very friendly and they go above and beyond, My only criticism would be the prices. $8 for a black iced coffee is a bit ridiculous. I live in midtown manhattan so I’m use to paying a premium but that’s just unreasonable. If the pricing were a little bit more fair, I would have spent more time here. Nonetheless, the staff and the food is great! I love the manager here too!

Completely overrated... we waited more than 2 hours for 4 plates and the restaurant is operating at 30% capacity, I cannot imagine if they operate at 100%.Just to add the experience after eating... food was not great... all the potatoes were burned and overcooked, pancakes were difficult to cut, acai bowl... only thing that looks like the acai was the color... it was a purple greek yogurt plate...

The view is great, and that is why they get away with their pricing. Their food - not so great. My steak was a $10 cut that they charged $60 for. No flavor, no sides.Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone besides for having a nice place to drink.

Gorgeous, delicious, very fancy. Be sure to go see the amazing big tree by the waterfall bridge. Id eat here many more times if we were still around. Dont let the door man tell you you need a reservation. We sidestepped him and found the places literally empty at 6pm and happy to give us the best table in the house. Other people started showing up later

First time in PR and wanted a fancy local place this was amazing. The food was more of an appetizer style, as the plates are in small sizes, but the flavors are unique. Totally worth the experience. Service was the best Nelson our server was very busy but he took time to check on us and explained the food very well.

It was good, not great, but definitely acceptable. We had the breakfast buffet for $30 per person and included eggs, bacon, sausage, seasoned potatoes, fruit, oatmeal, pancakes, and a waffle and omelet station. The omelet was really good, as was the rest of the food. Other than the omelet, which was freshly made, the rest of the food wasnt really hot though, which was a bit of a disappointment. Service was good though.

First off, the staff here need to be recognized for their focus and dedication to customer service. Dining here for breakfast was delightful, and the amount of guests that come and go in a short period of time was impressive. We selected both menu based options as well as the buffet, and neither choice disappointed. The buffet offered typical options such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast, breakfast potatoes, assorted fruit, pastries, and toast, but also offered meats and cheeses.

CAÑA by Juliana Gonzalez is a staple in the El San Juan Hotel! We ate here three separate times (breakfast, lunch and dinnerwhen we didn’t want to drive somewhere to eat. Let me start off by saying that I eat only plant based so the options were pretty limited but the staff was usually willing to help me out (my non vegan friends enjoyed the food as well!!The lunch and dinner are fantastic! My favorite two dishes were the eggplant spread and the guacamole with root chips (toooo good)! The side of coconut rice was out of this world as well. Of course the cocktails are fantastic too. I only have two negative comments about CAÑA, the breakfast is atrociously overpriced and lackluster with pretty much no vegan options expect for some fried plantains and beans and overall the service wasn’t as quick and attentive as we liked but we summed that up to a relaxed resort vibe. To conclude we thoroughly enjoyed CAÑA because of its accessibility when we were really hungry, unique dishes and of course the view!
