Byrnes Irish Pub - Irish pub in Freeport, United States
Great Irish pub ambience. Good food and service.
Delicious food, good options, excellent service, affordable and fun.
One of the best Irish Pubs around. Food was fast, service friendly, and the price was perfect.
Usually excellent but last night new (VERY young fellow)in kitchen nearly killed us with French onion soup salter than the sea! Wow! I still like this place- Guinness on tap!
Some of yhe best Backed Mac n Cheese Ive ever had. Very polite and helpful staff.
Good food. Nice atmosphere
We chose this pub because it had clearly marked GF items on the menu. My wife had a GF Killarney Chicken Sandwich, and I had Bangers and Mash. Both were delicious dinners.Jacob was our server, and he patiently spent time with us talking about the area. We were pleasantly surprised to be treated to live music while we ate dinner.
Both the service and food were good.My wife and I enjoyed it
The Shepards pie and other food we had was good. Im lenient with the "stars" but have to give it a 4 because most of the beers on tap were out, and this was a Friday afternoon. I think if I came back on a busy night when one of the bands was playing, Id probably give it a 5-star rating because it seems to have the potential of being a fun place. Stay posted!
We had drinks outside prior to an event. Drinks choices were excellent and the prices good. Great service as well!
Great place to meet friends and enjoy a meal together. Great food and awesome service.
The food is delicious, the drinks are strong, the staff is amazing. Byrnes is one of my favorite spots in Brunswick to eat. The pastrami burger is my favorite thing on the menu, but everything Ive had here is great quality and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely worth a trip if you are passing through the area.
Hands down one of the best places to eat not only in Bath but anywhere around here.
Food is alittle costly and not alot of seating but the food taste was amazing and the service was terrific. Our waiter was terrific and he made my sons birthday a happy one.
Had the Karls burger add bacon on my first time in and this was one of the best burgers Ive had in years. I got it off of a suggestion from a friend and was not disappointed
Great beer selection. Delicious food. Good prices.
Good selection on tap, including ciders (great for people who are gluten free!). Unique selection of appetizers - the blue cheese guacamole was delicious and was available with gluten free chips on request. The vibe of the place was also great. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area next!
I enjoy my Sunday brunch with the staff of Byrnes. They are polite, attentive, and treat my group of friends like family. The dining area is always clean, as are the restrooms. They aslo have the best reubens and corned beef hash in Brunswick.
Good local craft and traditional irish beer selection, great pub food, and friendly service. We had the rubin, Shepards pie, steak sub, the BLT, and the cashelmole with seasoned pita chips. All were very good.
Every time I go home to Brunswick I hit Byrnes. I love to hang out at the bar and eat snacks. I loved the blue cheese guacamole and the house made Wing sauces are pretty special.
Im not one for Irish Pubs, but my friend and I went here when visiting Brunswick. When my order was not sitting right with me, I was able to talk to the waiter and order something different. Got a burger to go, was very good!! Great service! ♡♡
Byrnes is a great Irish pub... The food is great along with a friendly staff. The Guinness pint on tap is exceptional 👌. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere. Guaranteed great time
Great food, atomsphere
6 for dinner. We had bangers and mash bounty burger mac and cheese steak blast melissas pretzels bake potatoe with bacon and side salad. All were served to order and proper temperatures when brought to the table. Drinks were mostly water, one Guinness beer. PepsiCo products. Food was delicious and good portions. Service was attentive at first but slowly diminished. No offers to fill anyones drinks. Prices are average for this kind of environment.
So delicious! The staff is wonderful and fun. The drinks are strong and satisfying. I had the shepherds pie and pretzels and my husband had the steak bomb. It was so so good. Highly recommend.
Food is amazing! Great atmosphere! Wonderful people! I recommend the Irish American Nachos as a starter!!
Friendly service. I love the wings here with the wiskey sauce! Its been the only thing Ive gotten for the past 4 years. At this moment Im bout to leave for the Navy and I chose this place for my last lunch before I ship out.
Even after a pandemic settles for a little bit, Byrnes is still one of the best restaurants around the Brunswick area. The homemade cheesecake is wayyyyy better than the Cheesecake Factorys cheesecake. Thank you for a wonderful night <3
Servers are clearly not happy, not one ever smiles or had any personality. Definitely had better food. Meatloaf tasted like a gyro and to heat it up they grill it and make it crunchy!! And no lemon in my drink like I asked. I could go on and on. But wont be going back!
Great food and atmosphere. I always have a good meal here and their draft list is extensive with many great options.I’d give the food 5 stars but the fact that there’s no changing table in the bathroom (I’ve been here at least 5 times since having my daughter in August, and still no changing table after suggesting it multiple timesdecreases my rating.
Great visit. Wait staff was perfectly attentive. I ordered wings with sauce on the side....nice and crispy, and most importantly no coating. Burger was cooked as asked. My companions ordered the Poutine and raved about it, they also were pleased with the bangers and mash as well as the open faced pastrami. Looking forward to our next visit!
Awesome place. Love it!!! Chill people and delicious food and cold beer.
We love the pub baked potato with chili and cheese on top. Its billed as a side but it is a huge potato and it eats like a meal. The John Henry Milk Stout on draft is my favorite. That one was tapped out on this visit but the Cole Porter on draft was a fine second choice.
Nice casual pub that was very comfortable and had plenty of TVs to watch the hockey game. The food was very good, I am doing this review 6 months after we had gone there so I don’t remember what I had, but I remember it was very good and that I was impressed at the time. We will go back next time we are on vacation in that area again.
We went this Sunday to have the advertised Irish Breakfast. The only thing that qualified as a good Irish breakfast component was the black pudding. The sausage was not a banger, too meaty not enough filler. The back bacon was more like ham and over cooked. The beans were American style sweet baked beans. No brown sauce. It wasnt a bad breakfast but wasnt what was expected.
We went to the one in Brunswick, and as always it was awesome. The server was spot on and attentive, sadly I dont remember her name. The food was great and came out fast. It was a Friday after the lunch rush, so it wasnt very busy at the restaurant. Check the place out.
Not a good experience. Ive eaten here a few times and food was good however this time it was really awful. The Mac and cheese was dry and rubbery. No sauce at all. Looked like it was microwaved. Guinness gravy was awful. Seemed like a brown can gravy.... Not good at all. Will not be back.
Cold Smithwicks and excellent pub food. this posted 3 weeks ago, went in tonight 2/27/19 during Red Sox trivia, met cool old Veteran named Bill, bought him a beer and got overcharged for 2 Smithwicks.Bartenders explanation was my wife ordered 2 beers extra. If your into getting robbed as a hobby, Cheers N go for it. She was sitting next to me the whole time, that didnt happen!I dont want confrontation so I left.Had great conversation with a great elder Veteran, however I WILL NEVER FREQUENT YOU PUB AGAIN.Great Job Bartender Lassie, I hope your $ 10 overcharge and 6 buck tip was worth the explanation to the boss.
As I have said before, nice atmosphere that elevates to great on music nights. Food is good pub fare, dont expect anything fancy, they dont do fries, but that is fine as their mashed potato with Guinness and onion gravy is awesome.
Five stars is simply not enough. Great food and friendly staff. Live music several nights a week in a welcoming Irish pub. Cant ask for much more than that. Will certainly make this a regular visit as its an enjoyable time for all ages.
An authentic feel, on the smallish side, warm friendly atmosphere and very good food. We had a blast. The Tuesday night Celtic players were very talented and enjoyable without being overwhelming. This will be a regular weeknight for us!
Been here a few times while waiting for a train. The service is good, the food very good, and the atmosphere is great. Lots of beer options and a wonderful Irish pub menu. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are excellent. No fries, but the kettle chips are fine substitute. Lots of TV and good people.
Spent a very enjoyable afternoon here. The food was very good, the Guinness was very cold and the service was great. Our waitress,Kira, was friendly, helpful and funny. She made a good afternoon even better. Would definitely come again if we are ever near Brunswick again.
Really enjoyed the variety of food, but especially the Irish and new England regional beers on tap. Definitely recommend stopping here if your in the area.
Great place to eat and spend time with friends over some drinks and great food. I had the shepherds pie and loved it! The beer selection was good and the staff was friendly. The poutine was subpar though because it wasnt really what poutine was supposed to be. I love the atmosphere here and will definitely be back!
Atmosphere is casual and friendly. On Wednesday nights they have one of the best trivia nights in town. The host is fun and not pretentious at all. The food is fine, what you would generally expect of an Irish pub, though I wish there were more meatless options.
Amazing drinks and music! The staff and the food are also great! Get there early and stay late! The leprechaun!
Great Sunday afternoon Irish music sing-a- long. Locals were friendly and welcoming. Great service at the bar. Good food.
We ended up here kind of as a fluke, but sure glad we did. We had a large party and they got us set up in a timely manner. The food was excellent across the board. Very good local (MEbeer selection. The next time we are in the area we will definitely be back.
We are regulars there, love the whole menu. The only thing that surpasses the great food they have is their wait staff. Elaina, our fave, is just adorable, processional and attentive. She adds a whole other level of enjoyment to our trips.
