Best and only place for breakfast. Beats any fast food chain.
Omfg they have this Texas Bbq omelette that literally made me miss the south excellent service guys great food at a decent price definitely coming back for mimosas
I LOVE going here! The food is hearty and delicious and the staff are nice and always around/attentive. The inside is definitely unique, similar to Cracker Barrel in its decor, but personally better, especially with the crooner/50s vibe music. I come here every once in a while as a treat or date with my fiancée - the price can add up sometimes if you do add-ons or upgrades, but definitely worth it - and its never disappointed!
The food was excellent. The service was very good. Prices pretty high... The prices wont keep us from going back at all but will cause us to look at other options from time to time... The eggs benedict were wonderful though...
This place is slowly going down hill ever since the original owners sold out, quality of food isn’t the same, but the prices are outrageous 20.00 for 1 person to eat not including tip. lot of there good waitresses have left due to the new management.
It was all so good we got both the barbecue omelet and the house omelet with choice of two sides. With including both sides it was pretty cheap, I got orange juice and it seemed like it was hand squeezed tasted just like orange slices, pulp and all! Even the customer service was awesome she was so nice and she got everything so quick. Over all is the best!
Great food. Place could use some updating as far as fresh paint goes. Waitress seems to be rushing us but was nice enough.
Food was pretty good. The usual breakfast fare. The Samosa flight was a disappointment. Its says that it comes with a bottle of champagne...butbthey dont tell you that the bottle is a single serving 185ml bottle. Definitely not worth the money.
Took my fiancé to eat breakfast here for her birthday. Service was quick and very caring. The pancakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. Her mimosas flight was an awesome experience as well. 10/10 recommend
The food was great large portions. Waitress did agreat job. We sat in the back room and it needed some interior designing.
The food was good and large portions but, their Male server we had definitely needs better people and server skills! All and all I enjoyed and brought home enough for a 2nd meal.
the mimosas are amazing and the pear juice cannot be overstated. everything is on the more expensive side and the food is mid.
Looked forward to dining here. The restaurant was fairly busy at lunch with limited seating. Server was courteous and the wait time for the meal was what we expected. The quality and taste of the lunch was average. Could have done without flies swarming in the dining area. Restrooms are in need of attention.
Great food here! Lights are a bit dim. They make fresh squeezed orange juice and it is delish!,
I’m a huge fan! Love the service, food & hospitality. Their omelets are large and they don’t skimp on ingredients. The fruit is always fresh. Everyone is friendly and attentive. I was a big Eva’s fan but By Hand and Fork is even better!
Always feels like home away from home when we visit Muncie from Toronto! Today we had a delicious ham and Swiss omelette, meat lovers and hash bowl and a two egg special. All fabulous! Service was great! Love that they remember us!
I have to update my review. I loved it here at first and the waitresses were so nice! Food amazing and mimosas so good. But the last 2 to 3 times I went I had a male waiter who could not have made it more obvious he wanted us to leave. Within 5 minutes of us getting our food he brought the check then like 2 minutes later came and said something like "is everything ok?" (And not the food he had already asked this). He also kept looking at us when he would walk by like he was waiting for us to leave. And this was twice with the same guy. The first time we had been there a while so I didnt question it but the second time we had literally just started eating. I get that they get more tips with more people but please at least let me eat my food.
Great breakfast/brunch place! You really get what you pay for. Server was great and I loved the atmosphere. Will be coming back!
I have eaten here previously, and enjoyed it. They have a relaxed atmosphere, and a varied menu that offers options not found elsewhere. This time I had the spinach, tomato and mozzarella Eggs Benedict. I was only able to eat the spinach tomato and English muffin, as the egg white was still partially liquid.
Very good. Items are ale cart. All that means is it can be basic and cheap, or you can doctor your meal up. However there is a cost to the "doctoring."
Great stop for lunch. Decent prices and decent food. I enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich and some soup. It tasted amazing!
Good food, friendly well trained staff. Prices a bit high, but tasty.
This place is my new addiction! The food is fresh and homemade, the mimosas are delicious and the staff is fantastic. Whenever I walk in, Im greeted with a smile. I always ask for Evelyn (shes amazingbut all of the staff are great at their jobs. All the stars from me!
Great Service and the menu is the best brunch menu I’ve seen. My wife loves the mimosas and every time we go we both order something new and every time the meal is delicious!
Food was delicious and generous sized portions. I ordered the filet mignon steak tips breakfast, with hillbilly hashbrowns(cheese, onions, green peppers and sausage gravy), eggs and sourdough toast. The tips melted in your mouth & the hashbrowns were amazing! Extremely clean restaurant and perfect service from server, chef, management and owner! I was very impressed. Would give 10 stars if I could🌟
One of the best places to eat in Muncie. Food is always good. They know how to scramble eggs. Not a fried egg patty folded over with a slice of cheese on top. If you have had it you know what Im talking about. Our 2 year old loved the eggs, ate it before his Mickey pancake. Price is a bit higher here for food but the quality from the kitchen is well worth the little bit of increase.Staff, well our waitress was real nice but we also had an adorable 2 year old that everyone had to come say hi too. He loved it and all the attention. Some of the staff dont seem with it, it does appear that managers are pushing the wait staff to continue to hover over tables asking if the are ready even if they are still looking at the menu. It could be worse if they never came back. lol I saw on more than one occasion this interaction with management and wait staff and we experienced it with our waitress. I think managers can ease up a bit on this so the customer does not feel rushed. There is a happy medium here.A waiter did enter the bathroom while I was washing my hands to check himself in the mirror. He just stood in front of the paper towels well after I turned off the water and was facing him, never acknowledged my being there. Almost used his shirt to dry my hands but it appeared more dirty than my hands were after feeding a 2 year old pancakes.Overall, this is a great place that may still have a few kinks to work out but if good food and great service is what you want then By Hand and Fork is the place to be in Muncie. A lot of places in Muncie do not seem to like having customers, but these people love your there and work so you will come back. Everything a restaurant should be.
Excellent good quality, large menu and friendly!By far the best breakfast Ive had in a long time! Food was very fresh, the menu was huge and the fresh squeezed orange juice was outstanding! Will definitely dine here again to try more of their delicious menu. We went for brunch on a Sunday and it was very crowded but we only waited about 15 min. Highly recommend the chicken & waffles or any of the eggs benedict!
Pork fritter is delicious & their green beans are perfectly seasoned. Best I have ever had. Service was very good
UPDATE: brought the leftover omelette and skillet home and fed it to the chickens. They obviously disagreed with our review because they gobbled up those leftovers; however, they consider bug larvae and raw, ground corn a delicacy, so . . .Breakfast for 4 was $58 (before the tip😳Kids: LOVED the pancakes. They had S’mores and Strawberry/Banana. They called it “sugary goodness.”Adults: Gravy was just ok.Meat Lover’s Skillet was just ok.Omelette was AWFUL! Dry and overcookedand the ingredients were so sparse. It wasmostly a bunch of dried eggs.Too many other yummy spots in Muncie to eat. Unless you want sugar-loaded pancakes, pass on this place.
The deluxe salad was very good. Nice and crisp. The rice soup could have been hotter, and kind of bland. The BLT was good.
Delicious food. The gravy is perfectly seasoned and the biscuits are extremely fluffy. Their orange juice is fresh squeezed and the perfect balance of sweet and tart.
Went to By Hand and Fork today while visiting our Cardinal. From the moment we entered the restaurant the staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent - from the most perfect turkey Manhattan to the awesome banana pecan pancakes. Wish I would have tried the Mimosas but I will do that next time. Definite 10/10 recommend.
Outstanding food, service and amazing breakfast
The coffee tasted absolutely awful. They poured from a fresh pot so it wasnt stale but it tasted artificial, chemical even. I couldnt stomach more than half a cup.I had the "South of the Border" omlette with a side of rye toast. The toast was served cold and the omlette was drizzled with a queso sauce that had solidified into an unappetizing paste by the time it was served to me. The omlette itself tasted okay, but everything seemed like it took a while to get from the kitchen to the table.Despite severe understaffing, the service was good. That may be one of the few redeeming qualities of the breakfast I had here.
Their food is amazing! Its a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. You will definitely leave here with a full belly. You get a lot of food and the taste is on point. So it is so worth going!!!
Oh my !!!!! Went there with a friend to try it out. Excellent food . Had fried green tomatoes as appetizer. Then had a veggie omelette with feta and American cheese. My friend had waffles with strawberries. It is a bit pricey but as they say you get what you pay for!!! Best omelette I’ve ever had. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Just a great place.
Tasty food and low prices, but service was abysmal because the staff were brutally overworked. Having a server deal with eight jam-packed tables, plus bussing those tables, is completely unfair, and in a city with Muncie’s poverty and unemployment, there is no excuse for it.
I had the house omelet with hash browns and pancakes.Omelet and hashbrowns was delicious but I had no room for pancakes!I will be back.Nice service and atmosphere. Prices are decent for how much food you get!
What a scrumptious breakfast! Our table of six had omelets, pancakes, and chicken & waffles. Everything was cooked to perfection and the coffee was fresh and hot. Friendly staff and a great little local spot!
Oh my!! Such a great local place for enhanced breakfast experience!! Had the fried green tomatoes eggs benedict, heaven on a plate. Bacon was cooked to perfection. French toast so fluffy with crispy edges. The pineapple mimosa was amazing. And my server Landin was phenomenal, kept me hydrated and frequently checked on me. Wish there were more stars to give!!!
The food here is amazing. I usually have the breakfast with my favorite being one of the skillets. Everything seems to be delicious. They have some interesting mimosa’s. Try their Mimosa flight if you aren’t for sure. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. They do get busy in weekends but I have never waited for more then 20 minutes.
We visit By Hand and Fork as often as our schedule allows. We have enjoyed some of their lunch items, but their breakfast is the best in town by far! Theyre usually busy on the weekends, however the wait is usually quick and the food is always out within a few minutes of ordering. The service is top notch and one of the main reasons we keep returning - the staff is attentive, kind and the tenured staff knows our kids names and ALWAYS goes out of their way to say hi and catch up with us. Weve been regulars since they very first opened and will continue to visit regularly!!
Arrived early morning, just after open. Very polite and prompt service. Food was good but not spectacular. Carrot Cake waffle seriously needed a cream cheese frosting/sauce/topping, otherwise ok. Big portion of hash browns cooked well and not greasy! Sausage gravy has lots of sausage yet surprisingly lacked flavor. Mens restroom not dirty. Overall - purdy good but we will be trying other establishments rather than returning.
One word... AMAZING! Waitress, food.. everything you want in a great dining experience...nothing fancy but utterly enjoyable
This place is amazing. It was nice and roomy with wonderful staff and an amazing menu. Their international omelets are delicious, and their pancakes taste homemade. Their coffee is really good, too. They run a tad pricier than IHOP, but its very easy to see why since they serve alcohol and use uncommon ingredients. The mimosa flight is innovative and the parking lot was packed. Its absolutely worth a try.
Amazing food! I got the Greek salad and the corned beef sandwich. The sandwich was outstanding the salad was authentic just what I wanted! A real gem in Muncie!!
We love this place! It is so quaint and friendly, service is wonderful and fairly speedy, and the staff know you after one visit. Weve become "weekend regulars" as they call us and even brought some friends to join. They offer fun alternatives along with "normal" southern foods as well as the local appeal from Minnetrista. Go visit!! Youll love it!!
Fantastic atmosphere, great staff, and food is wonderful. Cant beat the price ! So Happ they didnt let this Gem location die. Also this new banquet room is to die for !
Loved all our food, such a good experience, very nice and friendly staff. And the food was the best, and family friendly place. Definitely will be back! Loved there skillet meals and my 3 yr old loved the french toast! ♡
Visited for the grand opening with some friends. The atmosphere was really nice and the decor was very pleasant. I wasnt impressed with the food as much. I was told it was a southern food restaurant and I wouldnt define it as that. I ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. It is more of a diner menu. I will definitely come back to try the breakfast some time as well.
