Excellent educational and enjoyable experience for the whole family. There are many tropical flowers also in there. Visited in 2021 summer time. When you visit Niagara on the Lake, this is a place you might want to check.

Wasnt sure I would like it but very much enjoyed it. Beautiful butterflies everywhere in a lush, relaxing environment. It was a nice relaxing break during a trip filled with busy activities. We sat and watched butterflies and listened to the soothing sound of the waterfall. Would recommend for all ages.

Our visit to the butterfly conservatory was part of our falls pass. It was more informative and entertaining than I had imagined and the number of butterflies you get to interact with was awesome. Take your time reading the signs in the first room before heading to the butterflies and you’ll be rewarded for your new knowledge immediately as you watch the different butterflies at the conservatory. Very clean. Very pretty. See pictures or see it yourself :)

Great way to spend an hour or so, especially when paired with a walk through the gardens. So many butterflies to see! Just be careful when walking around as many of them like to land on the ground and “puddle”. It’s very hot inside so you will not need a jacket or sweatshirt most likely. The conservatory is in a bit of a loop, which you can repeat. Lots of seating everywhere so guests can admire the butterfly world. Would definitely come back.

Wow! What a beautiful conservatory to visit. The butterflies are numerous, varied and very active. The temperature inside was beautifully warm and humid. We got to see a butterfly emerge from its chrysalis form, also really enjoyed the architecture of the building combined with the amazing variety of plants to be found within. You should definitely visit this place if youre ever in the area and have an hour. Also the admission fee goes towards the butterflys wellbeing, who doesnt want to help butterflies!

I visited the Niagara Falls area in Late August/Early September 2022. One day during our visit it rained so decided to go to the Butterfly Conservatory since its indoors. There is an option to purchase tickets online or in person. Keep in mind this area isn’t near the falls. We took an uber to the location. The Butterfly Conservatory is also available via bus. We however learned you have to purchase an all-day pass for $10. It wasn’t crowded when we attended as we arrived when it opened up. After we purchased our tickets there is an informational area where you could read about the different types of butterflies. Don’t forget to grab a butterfly scavenger hunt which is located near the ticket area. We also took a photo which is available for purchase at the end. There is a six-minute movie to watch but we opted out and went straight in. Keep in mind it’s rather warm inside with the butterflies, there is a space near the restrooms (washroomsto hang up your jacket if you have one. Upon entering we were immediately greeted by an owl butterfly. We walked along the path and spotted many different butterflies. There are some sitting areas along the path as well where you can sit and watch the butterflies roam freely. There are also areas where fruit it set out and you can watch the butterflies eat. There was even an information area where some butterflies were in their cocoons. We even spotted a turtle in one of the ponds. There was no time limit, we were able to explore as long as we wanted. There are also staff members along the paths to assist with any questions you may have. Before to check the mirrors before you exit to be sure you don’t have a butterfly on you. Once you come out of the area with the butterflies it leads you to the gift shop where you’re able to purchase butterfly themed souvenirs, regular souvenirs and even the photo taken earlier. We had a great time visiting the conservatory. This is something I would recommend for all ages. There is a beautiful garden with many photo ops available but we didn’t explore outside to much as it was raining heavy.

Well worth a visit.Park at the Botanical Gardens and walk from there if you can. Saves about 5 minutes of driving on a very small and twisty road. The actual indoor area is a decent size, but can get very crowded. We went on a rainy day, and it filled up fairly quickly. The crowds did seem to come in waves, so waiting for people to move along worked for us.You can probably walk through in about 15 minutes, but we spent a good 90 minutes walking around trying to see all the different butterflies. The entire area is landscaped nicely with little streams and small waterfalls.

I really enjoyed viewing the many species of butterflies at the conservancy. Absolutely stunning! Not to mention the extraordinary plants. The environment truly mimics a tropical lush place that anyone would enjoy.I visited on a very busy and crowded weekend and so I will definitely return during a less congested time of the week.

Lovely experience to see and learn about these amazing creatures. Can get a little warm inside the conservatory, so dress appropriately. Get a little overcrowded at times so be aware of being around a lot of people bothers you. Take care while walking not to stand on any butterflies. Would highly recommend. Better value for money as part of a package deal.

2.5 stars. The butterflies were cool to see flying around and often landed on people. There was an interesting welcoming video which taught a lot about the conservatory. The glass room housing all the butterflies had many many interesting tropical plants, which was very cool. Only 2.5 stars because it was ~$40 for two people and there wasn’t much to do there. Seeing all there is to see takes about 10-15 minutes. Far too overpriced.

Great attraction at Niagara-on-the lake. They have a lot of different kinds of butterflies that you can touch, they have a small waterfall inside. There is a washroom inside but once you leave the area where the butterflies are you cannot go back in. They also have a gift shop when you leave the room with all the butterflies

If your in the Niagara area for just the day, or the weekend, this is a fantastic place to visit! Id imagine it would be less busy on the weekday which means less people and therefore easier to capture photos. I still managed to snap some great photos though, but I did feel at times it was quite packed inside on the Saturday. Parking was $6 for the day as well as a heads up.

I came here as a child and remember being fascinated by the butterflies. I returned as an adult and while it was still nice, $17 for an attraction that, even taking your time, you could reasonably go through in 20 minutes seemed like a lot. I recommend watching their intro video, which explains the process of how they maintain the conservatory, before entering, because it provides a level of appreciation for the amount of work goes into maintaining this place. It is a overall a peaceful escape and I’m glad there is a spot that celebrates such important pollinators.

Butterflies everywhere! The Butterfly Conservatory is amazing! Worth a trip if youre in the area. Dont throw up on the long winding road that leads to it! The gift shop has tons of unique items. Your picture is taken on a green screen upon arrival. The staff then superimposes butterflies onto your hands. You can buy the photograph in the gift shop after you have finished walking through.

I took my kids to the conservatory on our way home from visiting Toronto and they really enjoyed the stop. The actual conservatory area isn’t that big. We walked through the entire route in about 30 mins while the kids stopped and took note of which butterflies they saw. With that said, I still think this is a great activity for kids and adults.

Just beautiful. If you live in Ontario, its definitely one of those places you absolutely have to see once, but will probably not go again for a long time.If youre a photographer and love butterflies though, youll probably find yourself here a lot. There are butterflies EVERYWHERE.I thought the $17/p admission fee was a bit steep but I was in town with my wife and knew it was worth every penny soon as I stepped foot into the conservatory. It was a bit cramped when busy but youll definitely want to go if you have at least 2 hours.

Beautiful Conservatory, it is a good size venue and has plenty of butterflies. It’s humid but very relaxing inside. Washrooms are very clean and gift shop is a good size with lots of nice souvenirs. The Conservatory can be reached through the WEGO Green Line North so it’s easy to reach. We arrived an hour 15 minutes before the closing time but that was more than enough time and we were not rushed by anyone. I highly recommend it.

Proceed SLOWLY. This is an intimate experience, and the slightest of wrong moves can be devastating. This warm conservatory has a winding path that leads you through a tended butterfly nursery. Here are your WARNINGS: butterflies are everywhere continually flying about, landing, inspecting, and circling. #watch your step, they land on the path. #do not step backward without looking, they will land behind you. #Do not swat, they may even land on your nose! #Do not lean back on things, they may have landed on the back of your clothing. #Let your children experience wonder and guide them warmly. <3

This place was the highlight of our trip. Never have I seen so many butterflies flying and zipping around in one place. If youre looking for a nice, relaxing stop for an hour or two, this is it.I felt so full of wonder as I stepped into the conservatory. The lush gardens, stone statues, rushing waterways, and of course, the butterflies! You cant find a single corner of this place that isnt full of lounging butterflies on leaves, feeding on fruit, or zipping in between guests. As you can see from our pictures, we even had a few land on us as we walked around :)We ended up walking around the entire enclosure in about 30 minutes, so we went another round for a total time spent being about an hour. You could definitely spend longer here, many chairs to sit around in and bask in the butterfly glory. At about $17 per adult, I would say this is a must-do! I honestly could go back again right now and cant wait to visit again!

Very beautiful architecture for the observatory. One thing that must be noted is that the temperature of the observatory is very hot to accommodate the butterflies, so during the summer it can be quite difficult to fully enjoy and stay for an extended time with the lack of AC. Over 2000 butterflies are within this observatory so its a wonderful time! I was quite nervous of being near butterflies prior to this experience, however now I find them to be beautiful and peaceful animals. There is a wego stop right in front of this attraction - we purchased the Adventure Pass which includes 48 hours of free wego bus rides which stop directly in front of all attractions included in the pass. I would highly recommend this attraction and the adventure pass.

A Beautiful place where butterflies are cultivated. Fly about in a climate controlled setting. You walk amongst them in a garden full of their favorite flowers. If you are lucky, and still enough, they will land upon you. Watch in awe and amazement as these wonderful creatures move about amongst visitors, and themselves. A very interesting and informative short film gives you a quick lesson on their life cycle, and feeding habits before you are introduced to their environment.

What an experience! Went to Niagara Falls for some hiking. We realized the conservatory was just down the street and so it was decided we would take a look. The tickets are 17 dollars and there isnt really a time limit for how long you can stay which was nice. Inside it is nice and toasty, there is lots of tropical greenery and many exotic flowers. Of course the place was swarming with butterflies which was incredibly beautiful!I felt like a princess seeing those colorful butterflies fly around and even land on me!I also found a pair of beautiful butterfly earrings in the gift shop.In addition, staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing that was a little annoying was the fact that the conservatory was packed with other people, maybe they should have like a maximum number of viewers at a time to keep the place calmer and safer for the butterflies 🦋

A beautiful escape! I felt like a kid again. It is warm and humid inside - wear layers if it is cold outside. The parking machine did not work with my credit card and luckily I was able to pay for parking online. It is quite small inside and you will find yourself having gone through in no time. Watch out for butterflies resting on the ground, although Im not sure if you could easily step on one accidentally.

The conservatory is beautiful. The butterflies are active. Getting to see so many different species is wonderful. The scavenger hunt for them is sweet. I’d love if the finding all of them meant the child earned a small souvenir. It was VERY crowded when we were there. Most people were masked, but some were not. Overall it was a beautiful place and the staff were helpful and polite. Worth the ticket price for sure.

After experiencing the mighty power of the Falls, this is a very peaceful place to unwind. There are hundreds of beautiful butterflies 🦋 flying around here in a beautiful tropical paradise. It is quite warm and humid here so it creates quite the juxtaposition from outside in the Winter or even early Spring. It is great that you can take as much time here as you like. Kids love running around here trying to figure out creative ways to attract butterflies to land on them with varying degrees of success. The hatchery area is fascinating with so many butterflies at different stages of development. There are always staff members there to answer questions too.

This is lovely place to hang out even winter time... it has very lush garden with thousands of butterflies. The blue ones catches my attention. 😊 There is a window spot for larvae and caterpillars too. Im amazed of the feeding plates with cut up fruits for them. Lots of parking. We purchase the entrance cost 25 dollars for adult and 17 for kids 5 to 12 yrs old. This includes 3 tourist spot activities. Butterfly garden, The journey behind the falls and the Niagaras fury. We enjoyed it. I highly recommend it for tourists.

Its a beautiful place! Super warm in there so dress in layers if youre coming in the winter as the parking lot is a walk from the doors. Its a bit pricy considering how fast you go through it. Want to go to a warm place that has butterflies all year around? No better place than to come here! Its not a very big place but you can easily spend an hour to an hour and a half here if you circle the conservatory a few times while you try to spot every type of butterfly there (they give you a neat butterfly scavenger hunt flyer when you first enter).Parking is not free ($3/hourso you may want to look into the Niagara Park pass.I recommend making sure your kids are not scared of bugs or it may be a short run through the conversatory.

Since we had a wonder pass they just ushered us in without explaining anything. There is a coat area but I think you have to ask for it. It is very warm once you go in with the butterflies. Its nice to just find a place to sit and watch as the butterflies dance around you. Be ready because they will most likely land on you. Butterflies like bright colours, so if you want them to land on you try to dress for it. We lucked out and didnt have to wait but it can get busy and there was a line as we were leaving. Might be good if you get there early. You can walk around as many times as you like but once you leave to the gift shop it is done. Take lots of pictures and just take it all in. This attraction is one of my favorites when going to Niagara falls.

It was awesome! I can spend all day watching them. Exceed my expectations. It was a great experience. There were so many butterflies that will come and sit to your hands. Really enjoyed! Only thing I want to say to visitors that people need to watch out while walking. I found some people walking and not watching. Some butterflies lying on the floor and people stepped over them without knowing. It broke my heart. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN WALKING. Highly recommended.

It was about $40 for me and my boyfriend but honestly it was totally worth it. It takes about 20 minutes to walk through if you stop and take pictures/look at the landed butterflies. The hatching butterflies were so beautiful. There was a gardener who was working and he was doing his best to trim any plants that werent needed and pick up whatever hurt/dead butterflies he could. Its not as hot as everyone complains about and the butterflies are super photogenic!
