Busters Diner in Kirkwall

Place was busy, staff , despite that were helpful. Food was good,nachos were good, minute stake was just right, prices were reasonable, well worth a visit.

Extremely underrated place in my honest opinion. The food is decent and the atmosphere is nice. We ordered the mozzarella sticks for starters which were great, their garlic mayo is awesome. We ordered for our main course the double cheeseburger and the pizza with cheesy fries and sweet potato fries which were good and the chocolate fudge for dessert which is delicious.I also ordered two of the Orkney brewery beers and a whiskey for drinksOverall our total came to 40 pounds which is an incredibly fair price to pay for all of this food

American style diner. Called in on the hope to get a table and no problem. The young chap that served us was a bit shy but great none the less. The natcho’s were spot on. Bothe our meals were generous and tasty. I finished with a sticky toffee pud which was great. All £37 inc drinks really friendly atmosphere. Gave a tip as they deserved it for a job well done

It has the classic American style diner kinda food as you would expect. For burgers you get one free topping then pay extra for more, which is interesting. I think onion shouldn’t be extra, but the burger is a decent price so worth adding it to. The cheese on the burger was grated and minimal, so if you’re a lover of dairy maybe get two toppings of cheese. The essence around the burger is the cheese, onion and tomato for myself so I wouldn’t be ordering that again. The chips were really good.

Friendly staff and clean surroundings. American feel interior. Didnt order anything special, fish and chips, which was ok. Nothing special but was still filling. Had the steak and ale pie in the past which was very good. Its very kid oriented, so choose your time accordingly.

American style dinner with some of the best garlic mushrooms this side of the North Sea. Food + prices are fine, no wifi, customer service is ok

Cosy place with friendly staff and delicious food.

The food was OK. The breaded shrimps came with a out-of-the-bottle sweet-hot sauce. The double cheese burger with fries and some garnish tasted fine but not exceptional.The biggest problem was the wait. It took 15 minutes to place an order, another 10 to get something to drink and after about an hour I finally got the seven fried shrimps.

We had a fantastic meal at busters Dinner tonight lovely food and plenty of it great service will definitely be going back and will recommend this place 👍

American style diner with, of course, Scottish takes on American foods. For example, prawn cocktail is not plain boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce, its boiled shrimp coated in Marie Rose sauce which is sometimes just mayo & ketchup. The burgers were good, the pizza was good. The scampi was breaded and not good and the "thick" milkshake was not thick at all. The atmosphere and staff were all nice though and the highlight was banofee pie!

Pizza was more oil than pizza and chips were the same I got the waffles for pudding and they were from liddle and stale with a tiny bit of ice cream in the middle and took about 20 minutes to come to the table

A small but stylish establishment, the food was good with a semi decent range of options which included curry, not what I expected from an American styled diner but the service was very much a one girl band. I could feel the undertones of very poor micromanagement and a lack of leadership. We were the first ones in and had around 10 minutes to peruse the menu before our order was taken. Another table followed 5 minutes behind us and this is where the service was stretched as a third table followed ten minutes after the second. Three tables in a small establishment just big enough to swing your coat off your shoulders without taking someones eye out. Lets put it in terms of manoeuvrability. You are moving chairs to get into your chair. Theres no room for a pushchair amongst the tables so you would have to leave it outside if you had one. As for the staff, they didnt seem very happy, perhaps something to do with the senior manager who seemed to be doing very little in the way of leading by example and was barking orders at the rest of the team from the corner of the kitchen watching the patrons eat. The third table in who had booked for a birthday party complained about the food and it was left to one of the kitchen staff to deal with, something a senior manager is paid to deal with. In fairness the staff member handled the complaint with ease and with an offer to remake the food. Obviously the table refused as they would have been waiting a further 15-20 minutes for food. All in all a 3 star experience. And the 3 stars is for the quality of food and the waitresses (singularservice.

Oh Busters, where to start. I try to eat at new restaurants whilst I’m in Orkney - this trip brought me here.Unfortunately, the food was not good. The burgers were served with cold and unmelted grated cheddar, and were definitely frozen and processed… you live on an island full of cows! I don’t understand the need for a frozen burger, ever. Generally the ingredients just didn’t seem fresh.The decor is quirky (a bit cheesy reallyand the prices were low, but they don’t make up for the lack of good food.We definitely won’t be returning here, which is a shame as it has rave reviews but I’m not sure why.

If youre looking for a nice dinner out in Orkney, I wouldnt recommend here. Its perfectly fine for a quick dinner or dinner with fussy kids, but not particularly nice food. We had burgers - the chips were ok, salad ok but the burger itself wasnt very nice. Really compacted meat (though this seems to be a theme in Scotland), cheap grated cheese etc. Saying that, it filled our bellies and the staff were nice and gave good service.

waiting over a hour then called 5 times before they answered. had not even left yet and when it got here the burger was cold and under cooked and the warp was rubbery like it been in the micro would at least got a laugh from father as all i got was well ...happy fathers day lol sums it all up really

Beautiful delicious food the chili nachos are a must have and the home made coleslaw. Portion sizes are huge and staff are very friendly and helpful. Very chilled out atmosphere perfect for a romantic meal or as a family. This place is a must when visiting orkney. Thanks for a lovely evening guys.

Pizza is great. Pre made bases, wont lie, but really great taste to them. Highly recommend extra cheese, and cant go wrong with a garlic mayo dip. The dips are a quid and large enough to get through even the largest of pizzas there (14"). Diner is American style, plastered with license plates from the states and other decorations. The space itself however is very tight, and it is difficult to move around, but if you want a takeaway you just stand by the door. Waiting time is shorter thanks to the pre made bases, about ~10 mins i find. Its also very affordable compared to other pizza places, and more consistent too. You can always expect a quality tasting pizza from Busters

A really nice diner and take away in Kirkwall, good service and great food at reasonable prices in quirky surroundings. The menu has the usual things, pizza, burgers, hot dogs etc. Id definitely recommend it if youre looking for somewhere to eat.

The staff is very friendly, however, the food is beyond bland. Had two different pizzas which we took 2 bites and tossed the rest. They really need to consider changing the sauce, dough, and cooking the pizza longer. Will never go back.

We were told Busters had the best pizza ever! And they were so right. The atmosphere is great! And the food delicious. We will DEFINITELY be back next time we visit thank you for a fun time.
