Burrito Jax in Halifax

Burritos. Bit expensive for delivery. Prefer much burrito but these guys are good too.

I got a large chicken burrito, it was quite nice but a bit expensive. The staff was nice and I liked the burrito, but I could have made one myself at home for cheaper. Overall it was pretty good.

Not worth it when so many better options are steps away. Food was cold and low quality with small portions and stingy with add-ons. Staff were very nice, however, the facilities were gross because the management obviously did not care.

The Portions have been reduced alot . The new owners are horrible and don’t even know what they are doing . Nothing was fresh and the beef bowl basically was cut down 50% from last time i visited . Which was 2 month ago …Dont waiste money here . I was a Jax fan but no more ..

We had never been to one of these places before (not from out eastbut had high hopes. Portion sizes were small, prices were higher than the menus pictured on Google, and the quality was not up to par with all of these things considered. It just didn’t taste good. It tasted old. And cold. 🤷‍♀️ The two women on staff that night were great and friendly, though. Still, safe miss on the food especially with soooo many other options within steps.

Same experience as alot of the other reviews in the last few months. Used to go here to this location pretty often and always enjoyed it. This time it was not very good at all. Was a soggy, bland tasting mess. Disappointing because always looked forward to Burritos from here😕

I use to love this place, last few times has been so, so after getting off of work I was walking past and thought I’d give it another try. I am vegetarian and have been for most of my life, today I bit into a chicken burrito… I honestly cannot believe this happened. I will never be returning again. It’s absolutely Unacceptable.

Food is always great but late now hours constantly vary with no update on this app.Pretty disappointing driving downtown and finding out its closed before midnight on a Saturday night.

Burrito Jax in general is good but at this location the food was cold, rice was hard like it was sitting for two days. Asked for a refund and they wouldn’t give me one, easily the worst location out of the several locations that they have.

Overall, I had an AWESOME EXPERIENCE with home delivered food I ordered here. It was prepared quick too. The custom made Chicken Quesadilla and Burrito Bowl reminded me of my Chipotle memories in the US.However, the Vegetarian Burrito wrap tasted horrible! From the outside it seemed fine. But when I took a bite it tasted bitter and sour like one or more toppings were either rotten or were not fresh/were one of those frozen kinds with preservatives. Ruling out all other toppings that tasted fine in the other two items, it could either be the Guac, Mole sauce (which I selected to add only one strip), or maybe too much vinegar from the pickled onions. The spinach also tasted bitter which I didnt expect assuming them to be as sweet as baby spinach are. Please dont break my heart. I really love Mexican food and I want to eat here again. I know you guys can do better!! :)

I came in on March 6th around lunch time. I ordered 1 quesadilla and two burrito bowls. The quesadilla was very burnt and the rice in the burrito bowls was chewy and disgusting. Furthermore, it’s definitely not allergy friendly (so much cross contamination/using the same utensils).The next few hours should be fun….

Delicious and fast meals great place...Had to edit as recently they are giving less in the bowls and also closong early a lot

Food was good. A little hard to understand the person behind the counter but they were very friendly and good value for $$

I went there yesterday morning. The morning staff was very unprofessional. Dont know single thing about customer service. He wasnt wearing his mask properly. He was touching every where with his bare hands.!!. There was a weird smell in the whole store. I went to use the restroom already having negative vibesWhen i realized that the the smell was actually coming FROM THE TOILET. the toilet was leaking and urine was every where.... never going back there again!!!!! I wish theere was Zero star. Im glad i didnt spend my money in that place.

Quite confident my friend and I acquired minor food poisoning from this location today.For lunch this noon hour he had beef tacos, I had fish tacos. I thought the fish smelled a bit off before I dug in. Should’ve listened to my nose.We are both glued to the can now. (Thankfully not the same can!)This isn’t the first time I ate here but it will likely be my last.

I ordered a burrito bowl, paid 25$, came cold. my bowl was soggy and tasteless. the meat and rice was not warm at all and when i inquired about it, i received no help at all from the staff.never again will i order food from this place.

Love your burritos but would appreciate it if youd wrap your food in tinfoil or something to keep the food warm for delivery. Your food deserves the best and a cold burrito is not the best.

I visited Butritto Jax on Sunday night and very disappointed about the food. The staff has no passion and no customer service at all. No welcome and thats alright. Not every single staff is happy with customers or mingle. As long as Ive got quality of taco and burritos, I am still good. The whole buritto was too burnt, not wrapped it well. Taco was soggy with water once I opened the box. I mean I dont know what to say about staff and the Mexican food. Its shame to say that I had a Mexican cuisine for my dinner. I will never come to visit this place again ever.Ps. The boss should train employees better.

I paid 12$ for half bowl with extra things (as per Manager of locatio)n.What is the meaning of paying 12$ when i am getting small sized bowl ? I used to go on another location and they always fill it up.Called on the location to talk with manager and the guy who was taking with me he told me that he put things extra and after that it filled half .Highly suggest don’t go this location.

My First Burrito. Very tasty and delicious. Great menu choices and selection of toppings. Good value for your money.Excellent service. Place very clean. Pleasant staff.Highly recommend. Great location.

Ive ordered online and from in the store on several occasions, and Ive always been satisfied with the quality of the food. The store itself would benefit from improved lighting, toned-down aesthetics, and a visual barrier between the back counter-space and the front counter-space, but thats being really nitpicky for what is ultimately a good fast-food burrito place. I did have a really positive experience here the other day because the guy behind the counter had his sales routine down pat, and his manner and approach to offering the various ingredients was on point. I appreciated the courtesy.

Serves customers without customers wearing masks. Burrito was so-so with the steak being the weakest link. A cheaper “Chipotle” that I’d only revisit at 4am. Didn’t finish my burrito :-/

Good place to have a quick burrito or a a bowl! Food is tasting pretty similar even under new management. Overall excellent service

I like the food and it is affordable restaurant, but I have safety concerns!!The guy who was making my sandwich was touching everything with his hands!Imagine someone touching your salad and tomatoes with their fingers! Even though he was touching and using his phone just before he made my sandwich!Unfortunately, I will never come back to this place!

I think this is the original burrito spot in the city. Still tasty, still not fast. Worth it though, because that crispy outside layer on the bread from being directly on the grill makes it. You dont get that elsewhere, and it adds to the flavour and texture.Always recommended. No photo, cuz I ate it.

I came here on a Friday night around 11:30PM, one of the few shops that were still open at the time. I got the small burrito with half steak half chicken with all the toppings and guacamole. The flavor of the burrito wasnt very good, and the tortilla was quite hard. I wasnt impressed, and the burrito wasnt wrapped very well as my toppings fell out of the back.

Service was terrible. Employees has absolutely no sense of urgency when it came to preparing food , and had to ask 3 times for a drink I paid for because 2 employees were having a personal conversation and joking around instead of doing their job. Whoever owns this place needs to talk to their staff or start fresh.

Wonderful! I thought they had a cilantro lime sauce but they didnt. The employee making my burrito knowing I wanted cilantro went and got some and cut it up just for me on my buritto. Definitely made my day. Great service

Fresh, delicious and fast! They have amazing gluten free burrito bowls, all the meat is gluten free and the only sauce that isnt GF is the mole. I love it! We go about once a week. Good prices

Lots of yummy burrito options here. Food is always tasty, portions are a good size and theres something for vegetarians and carnivores. Took one star off because the price for a combo is a bit high for a lunch meal, you will end up paying $13/14 bucks per person with tip at least.

Excellent burritos with options one would not normally expect on a standard burrito such as yam or cranberry! Their toasting process is truly a delight. The greatest setback of Burrito Jax is how their vegetarian options are not exactly options as much as they are burritos with an absence of meat.

Very good burritos. Not a huge fan of the interior design and seating arrangement. Good for take out but not really a place for a sit-down meal.

I literally just bought my food and left, and am typing this as I enjoy my pepper steak burrito. Staff is super friendly! First time trying Burrito Jax, mmm so good. Will def be back! I wish the sauces were spicier but the burrito is packed with so much flavour, Im not even let down.

The location is small, so don,t expect to stay there while you eat especially if its busy. But the burritos are excellent and the staff are very friendly and happy to help make sure you get a great meal.

Delicious food great for if youre on a diet. My go-to here is a chicken Jaxx bowl at about 350 calories. There is never enough seating.

I just absolutely love the food at Burrito Jax! Its super healthy, prepared quickly by very friendly staff, and definitely affordable. The only reason I gave this place three stars instead of four is that its so damn noisy with music pounding while youre trying to place your order. Maybe Im just getting old but I can barely understand what the staff is asking me half the time and it always seems a little rushed like theres some great emergency. Could they not turn down the annoying music a bit? It makes sense to have that music for the late-night crowd, but Im part of the lunchtime business crowd and I sure dont want to hear it.

Reasonably priced decent food. However, staff seem generally miserable and a burrito SOMEHOW takes 10-15 minutes to make, even when Im the only person in the place. They also throw it on the grill despite not asking me if I want it, and usually end up overcooking/burning the tortilla.

Decent burritos, sometimes a bit of a wait. They grill it a bit too long, but it doesnt ruin it. Great salsas, and fresh ingredients.

This place is amazing. Food is really reasonably priced. It is always so fresh and there is such a variety of options to include in your burrito/bowl. Its a refreshing change from typical fast food that leaves you feeling tired and huge. The staff at this location are so nice!I would have to disagree with other reviewers - this is not really Mexican food, so if thats what youre looking for this isnt really it. Id hardly call it Tex-Mex either. Its delicious, but its not Mexican food.We eat here many times a month and have never been disappointed. 10/10 would recommend.

I like to eat low carb sometimes, so when I go to Burrito Jax I always get the burrito bowl without the rice. Its soo good and filling and the prices arent bad. Service is fast as well.

Delicious burritos! Offers a sweet potato spread that I love, and the side chips are good. Limited seating within, but they seem to cater more for take-out anyway.

I just had my first burrito! OMG it is so good! I was looking for a place I can have a healthy wrap with no meat or dairy. Love it. The only thing missing is egg. Oh well. The flavor is amazing. The young girls in Lwr Sackville that served me were very helpful explained the toppings.I will be a repeated customer!!! YUMMY

A little small on the portions but the food is good. Ive eaten here since these guys have started up and I enjoy the experience even though its not the place for you gigantic burrito. Wish they would give out a WiFi password but none of their workers know it.

It is a small location but really good food. Pricing is fairly good for what you get for a burrito. Fairly clean. Employees are fairly friendly and polite. Music that was being played there was a little loud in volume but other then that it was a pretty good place.

Its good. Like, really good. Hit and miss service though. I ordered a burrito for pickup and when I got there they had forgotten about it. It kinds defeats the purpose of ordering ahead hen its not there when you pick it up.

Great spot to take care of the burrito craving at lunch time. Try out mixing the meat fillings (e.g. 1/2 Jax Chicken 1/2 Peppercorn Steakfor a very tasty burrito.

LOVE Burrito Jax, easily one of my favourite places to grab a bite. Simple, relatively quick, inexpensive and delicious. What is there not to love? Also I find they generally employ some of the more pleasant staff Ive ever dealt with in food service (minus a person here or there).So why only 4 stars? Simple, there is one thing about this place that always manages to to bug me, lack of consistency. There seems to be no general guideline for the employees to follow as per portion size. I have left there with burritos that are honestly half the size as other times Ive gone there. I always love those giant burritos I end up with, but it always makes me all the more disappointed when I get a small one.Overall though, awesome place!

The flavours were very tasty and everything seemed fresh. My only problem is that they dish out very small ingredient portions. Two large Jax burrito bowls are the equivalent of one Chipotle bowl in the USA.
