Burns Shopping Mall - Shopping Centre in Kilmarnock, United Kingdom
Plenty of shops, but found it a bit more expensive than their more local branches nearer home. OK for a day out.
Busy busy busy if you can get there with public transport its less stressful
Its a gd place full of different shops defo worth a visit
Unfortunately this mall is not what it once was. The shops are decent enough and a bit of variety. The biggest problem is the lack of real security around especially at night. Gangs of kids roaming about with a free license to do what they want. Not all of the youths are bad to be fair but there is always one or two that overstep the mark.
Very run down compared to how it used to be mostly discount stores or closed
Wont drop or allow kids to come down here its getting worse this place
Such a depressing place especially CEX who are nothing but legal thrives and cheats. Their staff actually go out their way to rob you very unpleasant experience indeed would rather spend the afternoon getting colonic irrigation TRU
Full.of toothless goons..its like a scene from zombie land
No a bad place to shop plenty of cheap pound shops in there
Everything was open so worth a look around unlike so many others thats half empty around the UKSo well done Burns Shopping Mall stall holders
First time in here for years, vibrant with plenty shops.
To many bad people at night in kilmarnock bus station it is OK during the day going to the bus station
the shops are great, cheaper than others Ive been to, access to toilets, right beside the bus station and the high st, and plenty more shops close to the entrance
Amazing my local and favourite centre staff are all kind and caring and security are there to lend a hand if you need help
Lovely shopping mall. Always spotlessly clean and has clean toilets too
It needs some decent shops to bring in people from outwith areas
Go into most of the shops in mall all very good
Council need to do more with this town centre.
Keep your wits about you with some of the (customers). Otherwise ok.
Always clean & tidy. Its getting alot better, although its much better when the Christmas lights are up.
It was ok the usual shops you expect
Getting into the mall with my lungs intact was difficult. Sadly all the smoking and vaping right outside the entrances turns this into a dump.
Not particularly well maintained, but fair selection of shops. Some main stores have now closed down.
The Burns Mall is almost a certainty that youll go through it after your journey by bus,it has a Greggs,Poundland&a Home Bargains along with an Argos&book store, apart from their music, give the Burns Mall a visit.
Bus station and resident jaikies bring place downSmokers stink place out, minging!!Security? LolShop owners try hard,But place just attracts jaikies and junkies and although supposed to be CCTVNothing ever seems to happen to clear them and bus stationGreat first impression for visitors to Kilmarnock!!
Its just gud shops in it im there twice a week
Place is in such decline. No good shops. Full of junkies. Avoid at all costs
Like many shopping centres in Scotland the Burns Mall is on its last legs. It is in dire need of being completely replaced or demolished entirely as it offers very little save for a hanging out spot for the myriad neerdowells of the town. Currently it houses the usual collection of discount stores, Greggs, Argos and Farmfoods as well as one of THREE Boots the Chemists within 200 yards of each other. It gets a bonus star for being handy if its raining to cut through to the bus station without getting soaking. You probably dont want or need anything in this shopping centre.Update March 2022 - still as bad if not marginally worse. Can I downgrade half a star?
Be okay if public would adhere to rules set out at entry but apart from that nice selection of shops getting be a bit of a ghost town dont think Argos was good as before . But COVID and cost of living going to destroy retail in general
Dont know why anybody can give this a good rating the shopping in the whole of Kilmarnock is shocking the town centre is a disgrace all the power that be have ripped the heart out of the town
Plenty of shops open can be busy at peak times with school kids also plenty of local council car parks within walking distance
Mall was used in proper manner people wareing masks. But it the amount of people at top of mall out side moving doors shouting curing smoking .
No bad. The begging junkies are polite with their passive aggressiveness. The Gregs rolls are always reliably stone cold and you can always be sure to have a group of Neds scuttling about at your shins being loud for no reason trying to scadge a ciggy from you. 3 stars
Shops are pretty meh but the staff do a decent job of keeping the extras from the walking dead out.
Not the best mall Ive visited. Shops are generally budget retailers. Roof leaks like a seive. Original Duke Street was a better shopping area.
BUSINESSES WORKING VERY HARD TO STAY AFLOAT IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES. KEEP AT IT AS PEOPLE NEED JOBS.GOOD LUCK TOO ALL WHO WORK IN ALL BUSINESSES THROUGHOUT SCOTLAND. MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND ALL THE VERY BEST 🎅
A feel we could have seating and wish the enclosed bit was bigger like Glasgow one .But at this time there is alot of vandalism.Am thinking of people that cant stand to long.
Poor and limited choice of shops. Good location for public transport but that is the only positive thing I can say.
Good for its right next too the taxi rank and the bus station for people without cars and you can get mostly everything you want
Very poor place to visit. Not much there at all. Security guards are worse than useless. Junkies left to wander as they please. On the plus side, it is very easy to get to with easy access to the bus station, town centre, taxi rank and Palace Theatre.
Seemed like a nice wee mall. We visited on a Sunday so not all shops were open. We really only needed Argos. Im on crutches and had to go to Costa down the street to use the loo because the mall toilets were all closed. Even if they had a disabled toilet for use with radar keys wouldve been useful, so I was a bit disappointed with that.
Could do with better service and for disabled toilets should have a better lock for the disabled toilet we have the big key but have to use a 2p price to unlock to get in or if the cleaner about not often
Next to the bus station, handy for public transport. Very little parking nearby. Reasonable selection of shops including Argos.
The door going onto the square is perfect for a bit of junkie spotting, it would be very unlucky if you didnt spot these wildlife foraging during opening hours.Great for warning the weans of the dangers of drugs.
Some decent shops but the drug addicts hanging around and not being moved on is off putting and the newly renovated toilets are overshadowed by the overpowering smell of air freshener which for someone with breathing issues is hazardous and you cannot use the disabled toilets without phoning for a key which isnt always possible again this is because of drug addicts abusing the facilities without being moved on
I waited till 5:30pm before I went to the Mall so I could miss the crowds. Only saw 2 or 3 other people so no issues with social distancing. Also there is a large bottle of hand sanitiser across from Farmfoods if you want to cleanse your hands. Im not sure if theres any others as I only went to the pound shop. All in all I had a good experience
I wont lie, this place has really went down hill over the last few years, with shops shutting, the toilets being unmanned now, its clean, dont get me wrong the people who clean the Mall do a great job, but there used to be so meany good stores in the area and so much to do, now its a case of...you only really go near there if you have too...Sad to see really.
Used to be a lovely place, however it has went down hill. The bus station is at the top of the Mall and there can be at times a lot of people hanging about. Leaking roof which have been their for a good couple of months now, which has signs up and barriers up for health & safety.
The shops are great value and staff are always friendly. Toilets not always available and when you have 2 small children thats a nightmare. Also being approached by sellers that pay for spaces in the mall deters me from going on sometimes as they dont take no for an answer. Previously been followed into a shop by one person even though I had told them numerous times I wasnt interested. Shame as its the shops that suffer.
The mall is ok for some shops depending on what your looking for
