An extensive vegetarian menu of familiar Burmese cuisine, with traditional decor to match.
Good soup, good salad. Noodles OK. Always busy because its good food and good value and friendly service.
First time there customer service n food was oustanding!! Our waiter explained to us about the food and what was the compliment to each item we ordered! Will definitely go back and I highly recommend Burma Burma!!
Love taking a small drive to this restaurant. Service is always great and food arrives pretty quickly after ordering! So far havent ordered anything I wouldnt order again. We always order the palata appetizer and rainbow salad, now the coconut noodle soup is becoming a consistent order for us :)
Excellent meal, good service.
Burma Burma is an amazing restaurant for Burmese food. We visited on a Saturday and got a table immediately. Outdoor seating is available. We were a party of 4 and all were vegetarian/vegan. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They accommodated all our dietary needs. We ordered Fried tofu, tea leaf salad, samosa soup, mango tofu, black pepper tofu, pineapple fried rice, and garlic noodles. The food was amazing. Highly recommend.
I am visiting from Sydney and my family ( who have lived in the Bay Area for 40 yearstook me to Burma Burma the night before my departure. I loved the food and the service was fabulous. Special thanks to Helen who helped me organise a surprise for the family.
Loved the Burmese noodles, lettuce wraps and eggplant. Always fresh and hot...Unsurpassed hospitality.
Not a fan. We ordered palata, tea leaf salad, mix veg kebat and Burma Burma noodles. The palata was soaked in oil. So much so that I had to request paper towels to remove the excess oil. Tea leaf salad was quite salty. The mix veg kebat was the only thing we enjoyed. The noodles were soggy and there wasn’t much flavor. Service was slow and the place was packed on Saturday evening
Nice tea leaf salad and pepper tofu. Tea leaf salad has shrimp and you need to let them know youre vegetarian to get the non-shrimp version. The salad was very flavorful and tofu pepper wasnt hot (spicyenough. Adding their spicy sauce made it wonderful. Their fried rice was a bit different with lentils in them. The service was good and my glass of water was never empty!
First time at Burma! Burma! I was seated right away, and I was poured water shortly after. The water was cucumber infused. Server Xiaofang, came right away for my order. Once I placed my order she asked if I had any allergies, that was a first for me.My food was hot and came quickly as well. Everything was good. Service was top notch. I will be going back.
Terrible food quality. We ordered sesame chicken( no chicken , it was all batter and chewy), Mango chicken ( no mango flavor, tastes like sweet soup).
We stop at the Walnut Creek location every so often to have a membership there. Nice food and excellent service. Especial shutout to Cindy that went went above s d beyond to satisfy the customers.Food had some misfires. Especially beef stew that got sent back for being too chewy. Calamari somehow got too much dough on them as well. Well, on the other hand, salt and pepper lamb and sesame chicken were to fight for.Desert - it’s hard to spoil ice cream and semolina cake.
The resturant food is absolutely trash do not come here we BARLY ate the food the total came out to 113 dollars and we gave them 120 and asked for change and they forced us to give a tip of like 30 dollars we said no and just let them keep the 120 and they didn’t even say thank you they said “fine whatever”
Delightful and unexpectedly wonderful for a business team meeting. Shared plates is the way to go to taste everything. Palatas were especially memorable, as were the sweet corn and string beans. Be sure to celebrate a birthday. They made it very special.
A mixed bag, some dishes are packed with flavor and complexity and others were monotone and not worth finishing. The service was fantastic. The dry lamb curry was done well but the Burma Lamb Curry left more to be desired.Calamari batter was crispy on the outside and soggy in the middle.
Good food. Also can take out. Seating arrangements could be better. Ambiance could be better too. $$
Very tasty but not at all spicy. And very different to the food we ate in Myanmar. This one seems more Chinese inspired perhaps. But still very good. Enjoyed the meal very much.
I frequented this place a lot pre-pandemic, but was totally turned off by one male manager there. Everything I asked him was always a No. He ruined the experience for me. I hope hes gone, cuz hes not fit to be a mgr. As for the food, its good!
Fast service and friendly staff, accommodating to all allergies. Have to try the tea salad of course!
Our group ordered Palatable with Chicken Curry, Tea Leaf Salad, Burmese Pal Thai with Shrimp, Mango Chicken, Burmese Lamb Curry, Coconut Rice with Burmese Ice Tea. One of my guests was familiar with these dishes to recommend to share, and we all enjoyed superb dishes for lunch in the middle of a short vacation.
Tea leaf salad and lettuce wrap was the best.Do order homestyle fried rice with tofu and vegetable dry fry.
By far the best Burmese in the area!Love getting the dried basil chili beef, spicy green beans, and tea leaves salad (with just cabbage)No one else is doing it like them!Only thing that is not so great is the parking lot. Very small spots
Loved the food and the generous seating here. They provided a birthday dessert making our birthday celebration grand.
Nice clean and welcoming place. Warm and friendly hostess and service staff.Went with a friend and was in the mood to eat salad. We ordered tea leaf salad and the mango salad. Tea leaf salad was good as always and pickled mango salad was tangy, sweet and refreshing. Perfect summer lunch.clean restrooms.
I wish I could give this restaurant zero star for the disgusting behavior of the owner of this restaurant! STOP telling people and writing on your menu that you serve halal food here! You serve PORK! You cook PORK in the same area with other dishes. STOP saying its only one dish! You are LYING to the people who come to your restaurant thinking it has halal cuisine! You should be ashamed of yourself and your blatant lies!
Found a new gem in the neighborhood. Love the super quick service, especially when going with toddler / young kids. The food was awesome! Mango salad was great! The jalapeño chicken dish was a treat! Kids loved the sesame chicken which was a suggestion. Young coconut is also a favorite. Overall 5 star and we are certainly coming back!
One word. Amazing 🤩 We ordered a ton of dishes, but my fav was the Tea Leaf salad 🥗 & I am not a salad guy.
The food was really good. Must try tea leaf salad. All the meat options are halal.
We were recommended this restaurant & I’m so glad our party of 8 decided to go before our concert in Oakland at the coliseum. Everything we ordered was so delicious including our desserts!!! Everyone loved the food & I will definitely be back!!
Food tastes good and the service was great. Try the tea leaves salad and they have gluten free options too. Waiter specifically asked if anyone has allergies, which few restaurants do. Their service was courteous and prompt. Try out Burma! Burma!
Loved the Burmese food specially the Tea leaf salad, village catfish curry and Burmese garlic noodles.Loved the ambiance and service.
The flavor of the spices is too strong. If you like Burmese spices, you will love it! Its taste is very unique!!
Came to Burma Burma after a fun day of shopping at the Outlets and generally, enjoyed some pretty good Burmese food, considering the area.We began with the obligatory tea leaf salad which was delivered pre-mixed. I mean, thats ok, but it also took away from the presentation which is one of the more enticing parts of this salad. Having said that, it had all the right ingredients and definitely satisfied the craving Ive had for this salad for a while now. For a second appetizer, we ordered the samosas which were of a good size and stuffed with thoroughly spiced potatoes, onions, and peas. They were freshly fried and delivered piping hot with sweet and sour chili sauce on the side. I really enjoyed this dish - recommended! For entrees, we went family style and ordered the pine nut fried brown rice and nan gyi dok as bases. The pine nut fried rice was delicious with the pine nuts and the brown rice both adding a unique nutty flavor! Recommended! The nan gyi dok was unfortunately not good which sucked because I love this dish. First, the dish was delivered pre-mixed which made all the crunchy bits (fried onions, fried wontons, yellow bean powdersoggy before delivery. Secondly, the curry was unexpectedly sweet which was kind of off-putting. There also just wasnt enough citrus to make the dish pop.For meat dishes, we went with the lamb kebat and the basil/dried chili swai. Both of these dishes, though flavorful, were also very heavy handed on salt. If we didnt have the fried rice, there definitely was no hope of eating them individually. Between the two, I like the swai more. The bursts of fresh thai basil were delicious! The lamb did have mint leaves, but they were definitely hidden by the rest of the ingredients which is unfortunately because lamb and mint are a wonderful pairing. All in all, dinner for 4 was filling and pretty tasty, easily a 3.5. I am rounding down for the service (or lack of). For the pine nut fried rice, we had originally ordered it with shrimp but it was delivered without it. Our waitress admitted that she forgot to put it in...which ok, I guess mistakes happen. While we wanted to send it back, we were also informed by the restaurant that they also wanted our table to be freed sooner rather than later because they had a big party coming. As a customer, it just felt rushed and like we werent a priority.
Good and convenient location. Food was delicious & friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor dine in seating were available. Spice levels was less for us and we should have mentioned to make it more spicy. Based on the quantity provided for entrees the cost seems to be on higher side. No rice options (need to order separatelyfor most of the main entrees.
Delicious with amazing service! Lots of vegan eats! Thank you for taking great care with my concern with mango allergy. Definitely will come back! 💚🌱
Im a huge fan of both Indian and Thai food, so this falls right in the middle, both geographically and flavor-wise! Everything is amazing... not pictured is the Rainbow Salad, highly recommended. Of the pictured dishes, my favorites are the Garlic Noodles (a bit oily, but it was expectedand the Garlic Eggplant. The Lamb Kebab is very tender, very good flavor combination... not spicy. We inhaled the Garlic Noodles with chicken and had to order a second round, but with tofu. So good!
Tried the Tea leaf salad for to go and it was pack neatly. The dressing is quite different and the seeds, beans and shrimp powder gives that unique taste. I am thinking what should I try next? Their place is also neat, organize and observes proper social distancing their staffs were also very nice.
I had to try Burmese from long time and I landed to this place. Definitely it didn’t disappoint me. We were 4 of us and ordered 4 different dishes.Samosa salad: dressing and taste was very unique.Khao sue : it was ok. I expected lot more flavors.Burmese Garlic noodles with shrimp: good but lack of spice.Palata with coconut chicken curry : it was the best dish ever! Perfectly balanced spice and aroma.
Went there with friends ordered samosa salad, palatable with chicken coconut curry burmese noodles with shrimp. The good quality is good but the portions r a little small but you will content.
One of my favorite restaurants in the Bay. Burma Burma has been our go-to during the pandemic especially for outdoor dining because they have heating lamps, good lighting, and consistent high quality service and delicious food.
Came here mid last summer before outdoor dining had closed. They had hand sanitizer at each table and staff were following proper protocols to keep guests safe. I definitely recommend the tea leaf salad and lotus chips for appetizers! We ordered fresh young coconut since it was hot out too.
Food has good flavors. Next time I will skip the pumpkin salmon. I liked the house fried rice with chicken but found it very oily. The paratla was good with the veg curry. And so was the Indian-Burmese rice.
4 of us dropped in for lunch.Quickly seated and orders taken efficiently. For shared appetizers we ordered the Burmese Samosas and The Tea Leaf Salad. The samosas were hot and tasty. And the salad a perfect complement, crunchy, fresh and cool to the mouth , but tantalizingly tasty .I tried the Eggplant Curry with Brown rice and it was very very good. Will return soon!
The best ever Burmese/ Asian fusion- hawaiian inspired food in town! From appetizers, main course to dessert, everything was just almost perfect! Really authentic! Price is right. perfect ambience and friendly staffs serving you with smiles. Love the desserts fried banana with ice cream, you can’t go wrong coming here with hungry stomach and leaving full and satisfied. I would love to come back here whenever I’m in Dublin.
Had the mango chicken, shrimp fried rice, duk noodle and plum wine. Food was okay. I came with 3 others and they thought is was good. It was not horrible but it was different. If youre looking for a place that I new or different check out burma burma. Staff was friendly and prompt but it felt like they were trying to kick us out to service other people. I did not appreciate the push from the waiter of having to order more because it wasnt enough. But honestly for an a la carte place, 4 people and 3 dishes would have been enough food.
This is a very popular place around here. I got to know about it thorugh some colleagues and decided to give it a try. The place was super packed , partly my fault for picking up Friday afternoon lunch here. The good part is that the service is really quick and we got our seats for two in about 10 mins. The waitress who served us was awesome, even with all the business going around , she took the time to explain us whats recommended and stuff for first timers, we ordered a good mix to try different things. I loved the palata and chicken curry..soo good! The green beans were hitting the spot too. The beef was good but wouldnt say the best I had. Overall, definitely recommend this place.
Menu was simple to understand and reasonably priced. Server were prompt in bringing orders out. It is casual eat out place food tasted good not over the top but it was my first time with Burmese food. Portions were decent.
First time having Burmese food and Im glad I gave it a try. They have a very friendly and attentive staff. A nice selection of vegetarian food options. The samosas were very good. The noodles were a little bland and lacked the extra veggies we requested, but overall not bad. Will be back to try other veggie selections on the menu.
Lots to enjoy! This was our first time, I got the garlic noodle with roast pork $11 for my 5yr old, and the egg and okra curry for myself. The garlic noodle was made of thin, flat, but narrow noodles, which reminded me slightly of Malaysian meepok. My kid very much enjoyed the dish, and declared she wants leftovers for school lunch the next day! My egg and okra curry was very different than your usual curry.. not coconut milk based, rather you get a lot of sweetness from onions and tomatoes. You get about two large eggs (hard boiled and friedhalved, and okra was perfectly cooked. I look forward to coming back to try other dishes, though someone already declared she wants the same noodle dish. :)
Burma Burma was terrific. The food may have been the best Burmese food weve had, and weve been to many of the high end places around the bay area. The tea leaf salad was great, albeit a bit oily. The tofu and vegetable was similar to fiery tofu Ive had elsewhere. Their Indian rice was quite good, like a biriyani. Our server was great. He was fun and personable, did a great job serving salad. The only service issue was the hostess was pretty disinterested and bordering on rude. Still everyone else was great.
