Wonderful experience for a celiac. Great, safe food. Gluten free fryer.

Had the village beef burger and it was excellent, cooked to perfection. Also had the onion rings and they were excellent as well.

I am a pretty complicated customer - this is a great and very accommodating place. I have serious health issues and a severe sensitivity to gluten. I had a traditional burger, sweet potato fries and salad, and it was all great. Cooked well. Good flavor. I appreciate that they are organic, the beef is grass fed, etc and care about the quality and freshness of their ingredients and know about the various sensitivities/allergens many people have. It’s nice to come to a place and be understood and not worry about feeling sick later! Only downside is the gluten free bun - I keep hoping someone will have a tasty one. They are hard to find! Lettuce wrap might have been a better option. But, when I visit SLO, I will come back (and this was my third visit)!

Delicious organic burger, great beers on tap, excellent staff and a relaxing, natural light setting in the dining area. Wish we had a place like this back home!

I am giving you 4 stars because Aidan provided excellent customer service and the Burger was tasty. However, why is a plain Burger 15 to 17 bucks with no extra items? This must be changed and is very confusing to the customer…

Great food with the best staff. They are always great! Amazing variety with lots for vegans and meat eaters alike! Definitely recommend!!!

Food was great! But I was seriously bummed that they ran out of fried pickles!!!!! The other bad thing was the soda prices at 5 dollars each and the meal was expensive enough I couldnt afford them. At the end of the meal we waited and waited for our bill. The server was behind the bar chatting and didnt look our way and did not come check on us except at the beginning of the meal. I dont think the bill should be given too early, but I think it should get to the table before the last of the bites are taken. I doubt well be back because I cant afford the prices.

The elk burger and Caribbean jerk wings were amazing the waitress was even better love it there

So I discovered this place by accident, I needed to use a restroom in downtown SLO surrounded by local restaurants and shops. I popped in asked if I could use the restroom, and the were so friendly and said of course, so since we had already eaten lunch, I grabbed a soda to go.Little did I know this was a healthy soda, with clean sugar. I looked at the menu and all of it was unique clean, free-range, anti-chemical food. They of course had a bar menu as well. We promised to return.We came back the next day for lunch. Ordered some specialty burgers, optional GFO, and fries and sodas. Everything was so light, and delicious. Sometimes when you eat greasy fried food you feel heavy and sluggish afterwards, but this felt like we ate salads instead of burgers, it made us feel ready for a hike or something. Ive never been to a restaurant that specialized in healthy food, and it was an amazing experience.It is in the downtown district, so street parking, metered, good luck on finding parking.

Easy to find but parking is tough. Staff was very friendly and the place was clean and had a public bathroom. Great vegan options. Very fresh and a good value. Lots of variety on the menu. Pricy, at the edge of what would be considered a good value, but I’d still be back. The fries were a touch overdone and needed salt.

I go here all the time for carryout.. Its the only place I found that has Turkey burgers. Wait staff always looks unhappy. They arent necessarily rude, just always look miserable. The Food is great!

Over priced for the quality and presentation of food. Also the service was seriously frustrating. We ordered appetizers for 5 people and had to keep asking for basic stuff, like dipping sauce that should come with wings, fries and onion rings, not to mention no small plates were provided m. We basically ate off of our napkins. The food was “OK” at best.If you’re going to charge prices like they are, you must ante up the rest of the experience!Super disappointed. Won’t be coming back and I really hope they work on the issues.SLO has a lot of restaurants competition and this place is losing. I should have waited at Eureka.

Was excited about the premise of this place, but was a little disappointed - I felt like all the burgers just tasted like regular burgers. We had the Bison Burger w/Crispy Curtain, Elk Burger w/My Deer, and the Ostrich Burger w/California Mystery. The fries were alright, and the onion rings were rather good.

Great Happy hour. The food is delicious…Ostrich & Bison Burgers oh my. The staff was wonderful and friendly greeting us upon entering the establishment. Dry good looking menu with “Build your own” selections or house favs.

My bison burger was amazing with the sautéed onions. Fries and drinks were great as well. Ask for Maria. She treated us great.

We loved the extensive burger menu, how everything was organic, and the friendliness of the staff. Our server Jack knew his beers so could recommend IPAs. We had the bison burger and impossible burger - both were delicious and the latter was really excellent. We got the standard toppings and cheddar cheese and they were good for us. You could get extra toppings and the menu shows which toppings go best with the different burgers. The portions of chips were huge and the aioli sauce delicious. It felt good value for money, especially compared to nearby restaurants which seemed on the more expensive side. A few small ambience and decor tweaks would really lift the place such as playing music (it was noticeable being in a restaurant with no background music, but the chatter and laughter of other diners was a good atmosphereand the tables felt slightly high. Overall I’d highly recommend this place and am very glad we came.

Stopped in for a late lunch. It was wonderful, I am not a vegetarian but decided to try one of their vegan burgers the Beyond burger was phenomenal I added the beanstalk combo to it and got a side of sweet potato fries. My husband ordered their Ostrich burger with the petite pair added to it and he loved his. We also ordered the Green bowl salad that was very fresh and tasty. They also have organic Sodas! We tried their Cane cola and root beer they were heavenly.. Service was very friendly Maria was very helpful and explained the menu very well. She convinced us to try their Vegan brownie which was mouthwatering! Definitely would come back. Was outstanding!

We stopped for lunch at Burger Village on our way to San Francisco. We had a big group all family and Maria took such good care of us! Food was delicious we tried the Bison Burger with the Jalo parkway add on and the Elk with the My deer toppings and a basket of their homemade onion rings! My son had their chicken tenders from the kids menu those were really good we ordered a second order for the table. We also had the Asian kale salad OMG that was so good! Their beer selection is really long and all local from the central coast so I had to try one of them I went for the 805 from Firestone and it didn’t disappoint. We got a bottle of the Pinot Noir as we were celebrating my sister’s Birthday that was also really good. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we also tried the flourless chocolate cake the vegan brownie with a scoop of ice cream and the carrot cake at the end of our meal! We had such a nice time the food was so good I recommend this restaurant.

Ive been here for lunch many times. The food and service has consistently been good. Maria is awsome - she always greets with a smile and is very polite. She takes my order promptly and checks in throughout meal making sure I have everything I need. Excellent service!

This place is amazing! The food is really good and the beer selection is extensive! Maria will serve you with a friendly smile and can recommend tasty items. She’s so knowledgeable about their menu!! Ordered today a bison and ostrich burger. We loved it. I love to be able to taste the food without it being weighed down by tons of spices that dont belong. This is worth eating out for. Delicious. Keep it up. Will be coming back for more.

The onion rings are really yummy. The burgers lacked some flavor. I think a pinch more of salt would have helped. Our server Gloria was wonderful.

The service was great. The beers were great. The menu is....really confusing. Must be a pain for the servers to explain it to every customer.The burgers were very tasty, but an enormous mess half way thru.The fries were cold and soggy.Onion rings were burnt.

The food was amazing. I love that it was all organic and fresh. They have great vegan options, and they have many meat options. Our server Jacob was great. He was fun and very efficient. The food came out quick and delicious. 10/10 would go there again. Ps. Their tater tots are definitely the worlds best.

My experience with Burger Village was absolutely phenomenal. The quality of the ingredients with the pre made menu combinations makes for a very wonderful eating experience for a worthy price. Service was great, as well as the overall restaurant atmosphere, which features various posters and markers indicating where the different kinds of meats originated from around the country. Ill definitely be going back whenever I get a hankering for a hardy meal!

Really nice place, friendly people and good atmosphere. I love their menu. The little plates and way you can mix and match is a great idea. I dont think Ive had a bad meal here and the staff are very knowledgeable. If I had one complaint it is that it gets loud with the windows open, but it is on one of the three busiest streets of SLO. Good for them though for a prime location!

I ate at their place food was fine. lamb burger was tasty. However, a day after me and friend have developed an extremely sore throat. I believe that it was due to the onion rings being fried in bad oil. My throat is extremely sore, stick to just the burger. staff was mainly teenagers to young adults. Food was expensive I would rather eat at in and out. menu was confusing too.

My son and I wondered in here on a Thursday. We got a really good seat by the window. Our server Gloria was awesome and she explained the menu since we had never eaten there. The burgers were delicious and the fries super crispy. My son INHALED his burger and I enjoyed mine. We will be back.

I love burgers. I have tried at least one at every restaurant I have visited that offers them. None of them come close to the quality of the burger I recently had at this restaurant. It was the greatest beef I have ever tasted and probably will ever taste. Im looking forward to coming back plenty of times in the future to enjoy the same phenomenal flavor experience again and again!

I could not recommend this restaurant any more. Right when we walked in the place was clean, and we were greeted by Maria. We sat at the bar and Maria was kind enough to walk us through the menu and how it worked. I have a soy allergy, so my fiance casually asked her if she had anything soy free, she immediately pulled out a binder with ingredients of everything on the menu and offered to let us see anything that we wanted to order. She was so nice and beyond helpful, we really were impressed. To top off the amazing service, the food was PHENOMENAL. We were very impressed, everything tasted fresh and delicious. Dont skip this hot spot, and sit where Maria is serving if you can!!!

Extraordinary! They make their own fries from scratch, the burgers are organic and amazing, the portions are massive, and the service is delightful. Best burger Ive ever had in my life. This restaurants is a place to experience abundance. We got a milkshake too which was great. Top recommendation! Ill come back here whenever I get the chance to.

We went as they offered vegan burgers. The restaurant itself is welcoming and nicely put together. I ordered the Impossible Burger and unfortunately had an allergic reaction. So I was unable to actually enjoy my meal. :(We assume my burger was cross contaminated. So if you have food allergies I wouldnt recommend.But my kiddo loved the chicken tenders and the fries were good.

Really good service, and gourmet burgers. I tried the ostrich and it was cooked medium, done correctly. The fries leave a bit more to be desired in seasoning, might just be me needing more salt.. I drowned them in house sauce which was good. Good beer selection. Wouldnt mind going back again.

Burgers are not large but very good. Salads are very large, even side salad

This burger place had really good sounding burgers on their menu. Everything looked really fantastic. The burger was fine and in fact it was tasty. I would potentially ordered a burger again. But the fries were completely burnt and the service was extremely slow. The waitress seemed like she wasn’t really happy to be there. We waited 45 minutes for our food and she was the only one person working in the entire place.

Why cant I just be seen as a brother? I dont want people thinking that Im dating my sister, especially after watching Game of Thrones. It was a nice day in SLO, so Lauren and I decided to eat out. Burger Village had some nice outside seating and plenty of vegan options, so thats the place we decided on. Luckily, there werent many people there yet. When there are too many conversations going on, its near impossible to focus on the conversation right in front of me. So when Lauren started talking about the dating apps she was on and her recent dating experiences, I was able to be present. Then she asked me if I was planning on using any dating apps soon. I replied with a definite "no". I told her that the idea of sitting across a complete stranger and trying to make conversation sounds terrible. I dont even have a good fake smile yet. I need a good fake smile to go on a date, especially if Im not happy. Dates are like interviews, I have to dress up and pretend to be this better person. Whenever I would look at my resume or dating profile Id think, "how on Earth am I going to be that person?". People always say, "just be yourself"...thats awful advice. Im really shy around strangers, so if I was being myself on a first date, I wouldnt say a word. Instead people should say, "just be less of what you hate about yourself". If I heard that, I would attempt to form a few coherent sentences with my mouth.Interviews are probably better than dates. If you dont get a job after an interview, you dont need to take it personally. There are so many other factors that come into play than just the interview. If you dont go on another date with a person, how are you not supposed to take that personally? Like its not you, its just everything that makes you who you are? That sounds pretty personal, but I guess you shouldnt take it too personally. I mean there are millions and millions of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes out there and probably thousands and thousands of "perfect" matches for you. The odds of finding one of those perfect matches is highly unlikely. So if you go on a second date...youre on your way to beating the odds.Anyways, when youre on a date, most likely youre gonna get food. How am I supposed to digest that food when my body is in fight or flight mode. I cant be in rest and digest mode when Im trying to live up to this awesome person I represented as myself on a dating profile. After I shared all this with my sister, she suggested that I should get coffee for a first date. At first that sounded like a good idea, but I dont think adding coffee to anxiety would go smoothly.While my sister and I were having this conversation an older man walked up to us. He told us that hed been sipping his beer from afar for the past 30 mins just watching us talk. He then said that he was in Vietnam and was very good at reading people. He proceeded to say the connection between us was special. He must have not heard what we were saying to each other because he thought we were in a romantic relationship. Before he was able to say more, I interjected and told him that we were siblings. He talked to us for a little bit after that and then went back to his table. It didnt help that right before he walked over, my sister and I had ordered a dessert that came out in a pretty display. Apparently, when my sister and I order fancy brownies and talk about our dating lives or lack thereof, people think were dating. Anyways, the food was absolutely amazing and the waitress was super nice!

Mc Donald’s on its worst day was better than this place. The service was long for a slow Tuesday night. No one was in the place and it took 20 minutes for a raw burger with brown guacamole and cold thin onion rings. Plus all the add on’s are not worth it.

Even on one of their busiest nights they still provided great customer service and got us seated in a timely manner.The food looks tasty but to us, it was average, nothing special unfortunately.

This was my first time here. The wait time was a bit high but not too long considering it was a Saturday night. At first I thought this place was an all vegan place which is not. I ordered a village beef burger with the free toppings, added mayo, mustard and ketchup(because you need to ask for those condiments or else it doesnt come with themthe patty was very well seasoned it was nice and juicy I ordered it with a side of onion rings and they were nice and crispy i got to try all their sides and i can say my favorite ones were the spicy ketchup and honey mustard. I also ordered a straberry/ chocolate shake (because you cant go to a burger joint and not have a shakethe shake was delicious. The prices are okay considering where this is located. By far a nice place to go out on a date or to hang out with some friends.

this gets 4 stars because of the way you order your food. it’s a little complicated but it is made up for in the service and the quality of food. the server helped me to understand how to order and then the food was brought out in a timely fashion. it was fresh, hot, and tasty. i would recommend to anyone in the area, just be prepared to order haha

Ive been wanting to try Burger Village for the past few months, and this week we had some friends come through town who are Vegan. We decided to have lunch at Burger Village because of their extensive vegan menu, their ethically conscious ethos, and their social distancing dining options.I tried the Lamb Pyramid burger, my wife got the Salmon Pacific burger, and our friends got black bean burgers. Our server, Maria, was super friendly and helpful, offering to walk us through the menu and answering all of our questions. I ended up loving the hot sauce for the fries and she even grabbed me a few little cups to go.A day later, and were back, trying new burgers for dinner tonight.Thanks for the great service and delicious food Maria and the rest of the Burger Village team.EDIT: Night two was amazing as well, my wife got the impossible burger with the messy toppings and loved it, I got the Bison Burger with the egg, smoked mozzarella, bbq sauce, and sautéed onion. Our server Dylan was super helpful and engaged. Maria even recognized us and asked how our day was. Thanks again!

If you are able to pay about $40 for one meal, this place is so good. Friendly, food tastes VERY quality. Their elk was superb, and their substantial amount of five guys style fries with the BBQ sauce or house sauce was great!

Burger was pretty good. The day I went we had good service and the waitress (a cal poly studentwas very friendly and explained the menu as well as took the time to be available as needed.As for the burgers they were pretty good and a lot of options (you can never beat a good egg on top of your burger).I would say for the price it would be middle of the road, but definitely would be up to try it again.

Great ambiance that matches the theme of the restaurant. Food quality is what you pay for, and the servers are very welcoming and helpful. Got the Lamb burger and fries with no regrets. Will be back for sure.

Great experience. Excellent service. The server greeted us right away. Communicated throughout our entire time. Checked in on us and made sure we had everything we wanted. Took time to explain the menu and the ability to customize everything. Food was delicious. The fries were fantastic.

After a long day of driving, we stopped in San Luis Opismo for a quick bite to eat. We walked a few blocks and decided on Burger Village. It was nice and busy, so I had a feeling it was going to be solid. After being pleasantly greeted, we headed to our table. Our server Maria was so awesome, and informed us that they’ve only been open for a few weeks. She went over the menu in great detail, so there was zero confusion. They had a great selection of burgers, and I went with the impossible(plenty of Vegan options!everyone enjoyed the food, and the service was AMAZING! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area. Ask for Maria!

Nice food but still figuring out how to cover floor should just have a bartender and have the servers or waiters assigned to certain area or tables
