Buns Burger Shop in San Juan

When there at 9:30pm. They close at 10:00pm everyday. One of the girl that works there didnt even say hi and when I started looking at the menu another girl told me they were closed while cleaning. Go to Burrito Social theyre service is great and they will take orders before closing.

Fries are not crispy at all, but other than that this place would be 5/5. If you’re American, I would definitely recommend getting a single patty if you normally get a double back home. One of their patties is equivalent to an American double.

The onion rings were soft like their french fries.

Great place to get food late. Make sure to get a shake.

Ive given this place as many tries as I can. Ive gotten soggy fries almost every time Ive gone, and I even ask for them to be extra crispy. I did tonight, too, and they were soggy and the burger was soggy and worst of all there was a hair in it. Its not a horrible place if you eat there, but I would strongly advise against taking it home.

Buns is a great island version of 5 Guys ( I actually like it better). Great fires and burgers including a solid Beyond Burger option. What makes Buns unique is the wide array of beer and the hot sauce wall....so many of both to choose from. Spice it up with hot sauce and cool it down with a local beer.

The closest thing to legal crack in existence. These burgers are fing amazing.

I tried the Beyond Burger w/ onion rings. Our experiencia couldnt be better. We loved the way they took order and serve the food, so fast amd effective. Price was really affordable. If you like burgers youll love this place.

The people who work at this location are great, but Buns should consider a name change to Cheeks.

Decent hamburgers and fries. The onion rings could have been cooked a little longer. They have a wide variety of beverages and milk shakes.

This a great place to stop to end a drunken night! Or even just a bite to eat after a day at the beach! This was right across the street from our air bnb and boy was I pleased. At first I was thinking who goes to PR to eat a burger. Well it was just too conveniently located not to at least try it out. It was right before closing but didn’t take long for food. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed a nice breeze coming in off of the ocean. I would return here when visiting the island again. Oh yea, and the food was delicious 😉

Slow service and the workers arent the friendliest but the food was pretty good.

Not a big fan, the veggie burger wasnt that great. The fries are terrible and that was confirmed after 3 times. They slice the potatoes too small and they are full of oil. They get soft and soggy very quickly. I wont be returning. Employees were friendly.

It was okay. I went here on a recommendation. I was far from disappointed. A burger is a burger is a burger. Really for me its always about the fries. And i get it that its hard to do fries well, but those fries werent it.

BUNS is Five Guys 2.0. Better quality of ingredients and more options when it comes to sauces. I think they have over 10 sauces here. My friends and I stopped by for lunch. We ordered the chicken sandwich, chili & cheese dog, classic and bacon cheese burger with cajun spiced fries. Each burger comes with complimentary lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, potato sticks and sauces. I think the cheese, potato sticks and fresh beef made the burgers great for me. They didnt taste frozen. The way the burgers were grilled with a nice char on them added some great texture. Price wise this place will not having you spend much to get full. My burger was a bit larger than your average burger. My friends and I really enjoyed our experience here. It was fun trying a bunch of sauces with our yummy burger and fries. The restaurant was spotless and the staff was really friendly. We finished all of our food and left stuffed. Located right by the beach and downtown San Juan. This is a great place to enjoy a nice meaty burger!

This was by far one of best burgers Ive EVER had. Hands down. The burgers where juicy, nicely sized, cooked medium or well done, you can get anything on it from a fried egg to cheese sauce. The bread is almost like a sweet Hawaiian roll bur without the sweet. They serve beer and the fries and onion rings are heavenly. If youre near here or any of the locations in San Juan, this place is a MUST.

Well at least the beer was cold. Burger buns were once frozen and because of that freezer burned. The fries were very small , with small pieces and also cold. Wonder why this place gets the reviews it does . Not ever returning.

Good burgers, sides (fries, onion rings and sweet potato friesFootlong hotdog is good but the bun is a bit chewy. Which is why I took one star. There is no parking which is the motive took another star.

The burgers here are really delicious!!! Very tasty burger patty, juicy and good flavours! Bun was also soft and delicious! I also love that this place allows you to have sauces options for its little sauce station! It’s also very well priced for food. Chocolate milkshake was also excellent.The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was because the fries were soft and soggy and not crispy. May be because they had not been made exactly at time of my order.Would 100% go back! The burger was definitely a repeat meal :)

Maybe it was the time if day I was there. Website said open until midnight. They were closing down when we got there at 9:45. Was rushed through ordering. Once I got back to the room, I bit into my burger and instead of mushrooms which I clearly ordered, I had kraut on my burger? Who eats that on a burger? Only reason Im giving 2 stars is because my wife enjoyed her burger

I had this place on my “must check out” list while in San Juan. While we were unable to get there due to unforeseen circumstances, I decided to order me a burger via Uber eats! Granted, a burger is HARD to get right from a delivery place but their ratings on Uber Eats were pretty high! I didn’t think it was great. Fries were cold but tasted like they would’ve been better had they not been. My husband asked me was the burger as good as anyone I’ve had, I had to be honest. No. It tasted like a 5 Guys and me, I’m not a fan of them really! Oh well... they’re off my list of wanting to try!

Because of Covid, there’s a max capacity inside that slowed things down service wise. But after one bite, everything was worth it. This affordable restaurant’s best feature is it’s double bacon cheeseburger (though all the burgers are great!). I was stunned out how delicious the burger was—medium well, moist, flavorful burger sauce, and all around the best fast food burger I’ve ever had.

Good beer selection and burgers are delicious. Only feedback is that the fries are not as crunchy as I remember but it couldve been that I went near closing timePSA If you are a tourist visit the area, please be nice to the staff. Be courteous, patient, and kind.

Fast Service, Amazing Food, and a Vibrant place to eat and hang out with friends and family alike. Especially having the convenient side tables outside, and even better under the night time under the cool, warm lights.

I got a chicken and Looked really good. But It was not well cooked slimy and still pink in the middle and I literally could not eat it. The beer was great.

Overall pretty good food quality and nice place to get a burger. However, the fries (big portionwere a bit too soaked in oil and tasted ok but nothing to write home about. A bit pricey ($14 for a double burger meal).

You can never go wrong with BUNS. Last burger I ate was 2 years ago (Jan 2017at this very place. Came back this year (Jan 2019), ordered the same thing and it was just how I remembered it. Delicious & perfectly seasoned. 💕 #bunslove

Buns was very convenient to our hotel and was open late when we arrived. It is a basic fast food shop - nothing fancy. Seating available outside (look out for pesky pigeons). They will give you a pager for your food. Nice assortment of beers for a small shop. Burgers and Chicken available. Icees area also available and a nice option. Lots of sauces to choose from as well.One of my daughters LOVED the shoestring fries! Even when we went to Hard Rock next door, we had to go next door and bring some fries over ;)The food was good - nothing special - but it was good!

Great burgers - sure to please if youre a 5 Guys fan. The sauce selection is what really drew me in though. Loved trying all the different types, most of which paired really well with the burger.

Everything on the menu is great, especially the bacon and cheese burger and their Buns sauce. Though, their fries tend to go towards the slightly burned side. Even so, I highly recomend this place.

love all the different sauces they have that you can dip your food in! which is perfect cuz sometimes the burgers need a little sauce since they cook them medium-well. we always get: garlic, A1, passionfruit pepper, and mae ploy sweet chili. shoyu and wasabi would be nice additions if anyone is reading this ;)

Friendly service and very tasty burger and fries, with a multitude of novelty sauces in addition to the "Buns" sauce for condiments. Not a place for a quick bite but the wait was worth it.

The food was fine. They give you enough fries for 2 in one serving. Their was more food than me or my husband could eat. I wish the fries where crisper.

The staff is very nice. It is really busy here. There is a bit of a wait to order and get your food so dont come starving. The food was good. I had bacon cheese fries and a cheese burger, both were good.

This is probably the best burger Ive had all year and I never expected it to come from Puerto Rico. This place is a must for all travelers and tourists in the area. The burgers were very tasty! The meat was seasoned and cooked well. They have good toppings and great beer selection. The cajun fries were awesome!! Definitely a good first stop!Second stop: Hot dog was good but the bun was all wrong. Its more for a sandwich. The chili cheese fries were ok not homemade.Overall, a good place for a burger when you have a fried egg as a topping😋
