Bunker - Fusion restaurant in Loei, Thailand
Bunker in Loei
Description
Privilege
Bunker Restaurant in Bangkok, set in a cool 3-storey building in Sathorn, serves refined cuisine, picking dishes from across the culinary traditions of Europe with the addition of some American bravado. Their belief in strong flavours is apparent throughout the menu: salads are served earthy and partially raw, the cured foie gras is especially creamy, the pasta is rich and filling.Bunker serves immaculate cuisine, but its also a fashionable, intimate space with impeccable service – certainly among the best high-end restaurants in Bangkok.
MoreA very wonderful experience, its worth the five stars that got me here and a whole lot more, the food is very delicious and of high quality. I am glad I came here on my birthday
MoreGood food, nice environment and service.
I went with a group of 4. We were all blown away with the quality of the food. Everything was absolutely delicious.
MoreGreat foods, friendly staffs and nice in/outdoor.
Best dinner we had in Bangkok and we are at some good restaurants. Sister restaurant Eat Me is good also. The pork with mashed potatoes was to die for. I’ve been wondering what that sauce was since we left. The Mac and cheese with ox-tail was WOW. Got to try. A little pricey on the drink side so recommend just being a foody there! Enjoy.
MoreYou can’t miss this restaurant in Banckog, excellent place to enjoy good food and wine. Totally different design, lovely atmósfera and service for enjoy. Thanks for the great time we have.
MoreDelicious mac and cheese and jerk chicken. Sounds basic but it is anything but. Highly recommend!
MoreCocktails at this restaurant were outstanding. The vodka martini was one of the best I have had in bangkok. Oysters were also very good as was the beef tartar.
MoreWe arreive half an hour prior to table-booking, cos we wanted to have a pre-dinner drink - as the BAR was recomended as well.FOR WHAT REASON.... THEY HAD 2 SIGNATURE-DRINKS..... BOTH SOLD OUT (at 18:30 and we were the only ones in the bar....Ok, so lets try a RECOMMEND gin-fusion-cocktail from the drink menu..... SOLD OUT.....Come on, who have ever just got the idea of recomended them?Forget all about Bunker Bar..... TOTALLY WASTE OF OUR TIME. We left, and had a better time next door, where they had all their drinks on the drinks-menu.FORGET ALL ABOUT BUNKER BAR!And Michelin.... get them OUT of your guide or loose your reliability - even though the food in the restaurant was nice, the over-all experience was NOT MICHELIN-LEVEL AT ALL.
MoreGreat ambience, beautiful decor with helpful staff and great modern "fusion" style cuisine. Helps that the bar at the ground floor is top notch
MoreWe had 2 mains, iberiqo pork and chicken with rice —overall good experience and tasty food.
MoreNice interior and exterior architectureGood food but limited optionAttentive staffValet parking.
MorePricey but full of quality. Great food, superb service. See pics urself
Really accommodating with all of our reservation changes. Lovely food and a complimentary starter was a really nice touch. The steak tartare was really tasty!
MoreMy friend and I are at Bunker on our last night in Bangkok. We had last minute changes to our flight and needed to switch the reservation time. Andreas was super responsive and accommodating and to our last minute change. When we arrived to the restaurant with our luggage, the staff (who was friendly and pleasantallowed us to store our bags at the restaurant while we ate. The waiting/serving staff was overall very nice and friendly. We met the chef and the co-owner of the restaurant, who asked how our meal was and spoke with us. The food itself was absolutely delicious - from the starters to the desserts. Food was rich and flavorful, and meat was cooked so well. After we completed our meal, the co-owner helped us find our grab. We were not only impressed with the food, but also with the care, and genuine nature of the staff. Excellent food, excellent service. Recommend if you are ever in Bangkok.
MoreGreat spot, only went to the bar. Cosy and welcoming staff, good selection.
Its a place with good vibe and nice raw touch of finish for the design of the building. However when it comes to the food I feel the fusion or creative parts got overlooked and the actual taste itself is just OK. Perhaps I expect something more Thai fusion but the only good one stood out was the free complimentary tartare. 10% service fee and tax on top made this meal for two rather expensive.
MoreAtmospheric place, excellent food, drinks and service. My colleague and I had a wonderful time here
MoreLooks good! Nice bar!But food tastes normal. So rather feel costly.I recommend for people who go on after dinner, just drinking.
MoreCelebrated an anniversary at Bunker and we Simply loved every thing we ordered! Highly recommending the scallop tots, expect a burst of flavours and textures in your mouth. Squid fusilli and duck adobo were amazing too! Softest duck meat ive ever eaten. MUST TRY key lime pie, it was heavenly. Lovely ambience and great service there was simply nothing we could pick on!
MoreOrdered the 5-course menu (2,000b). 4 of them were one-spoon dishes. Taste ok. The main dish was a 1cm*2cm wagyu ribeye beef steak which surprisingly wasn’t tender. Still hungry afterwards. Good service though. Might go again and try other dishes in the menu.
MoreWe decided to find a restaurant near our hotel that was of high quality but without the exorbitant price tag that many of the surrounding restaurants had, and thats exactly what we found at bunker. The atmosphere is pleasant (more on the hip side than romanticand the food was innovative, with great portion sizes for the main course which is always appreciated. Most importantly however was the attention we received from the staff. Extremely professional, friendly and welcoming, really thankful to them for turning our dinner into special night.Well worth the price!
MoreBunker is one of my all time favorite places to dine in Bangkok. It’s super chill, has a great atmosphere with its coolIndustrial decor and the hip hop and funk music is the best, brings me back to the 90s. The menu is always a hit, my favorite dishes are the scallop tots (omg!!!, so good), the squid Fusilli is insanely good!! The Bao bun is so good too and the French onion bone marrow is sinfully delicious
MoreProbably the best service Ive ever had in my life. Went here for a wedding anniversary, they really spoilt us and made us feel special. The cocktails are excellent too.The attention to detail with the interior design really makes for a very special experience.
MoreExcellent cuisine. A great example of how asian food should be in a fine dining world. New sharing menus are more bistro like and are not as good as course menu. Cocktail menus are modern and extensive. Wine selection is quite limited but chosen with care.
MoreThis was our second time at the restaurant and it has been even better than our first visit. The 5 course menu consisted of some innovative signature dishes like Tomm-Kha grouper and local-produced salad that will never disappoint anyone. My main dish was one of the most perfectly cooked duck I have ever tried. The restaurant is now changing its menu with more sharing dishes but I would highly recommend everyone to try their tasing menu and experience Bunker at its best.Tips: they do a happy hour cocktails, beer and wine till 8pm and they do pour a generous serving of wine by glass. ;)
MoreFood and service excellent and surprisingly very good value, our table of 4 all impressed. The short but innovative menu had us trying and sharing many dishes, all well executed and innovative. Some starters can be rather small whilst the mains portion rather big (which I personally like). Will definitely return.
MoreAmazingly friendly service that offers a decent selection of wines, beers, and cocktails. Come for the drinks but stay for the ambience. Set in a beautiful brutalist styled structure, filled with svelte retro furniture that removes you from the world outside. But if outside is your thing outdoor seating is available on a beautiful balcony with good evening viewing.
MoreOver priced and small portions. Wished id gone to the mitchelin star blue elephant instead. Felt uncomfortable with the waiter staring over us. Dont bother going! Main meal and one drink for 2 of us in excess of £70.
MoreAMAZING. My wife and I did the 9 course Bunker taking menu (she did the vegetarian versionwith the wine pairing and it was incredible. Definitely should be on your go-to restaurant list for Bangkok!
MoreAmazing food and drinks, great service
Pretty sure I went at the wrong time of the year, Valentine’s. It was super busy and they cranked the price up. We ordered the 5 course valentine special, took them 3 hours for the total duration. The food was not that of a michelin star quality as they advertised. Very limited parking space. The service was sublime but was occasionally interrupted by the head chef yelling at the sou chefs for “where’s my sous-vide”. If you like the vibe at Hell’s Kitchen, this is pretty much the closest you can get at this price range.
MoreAn lovely restaurant with magnificent meal and service.Price is somewhat expensive but actually worth to pay
MoreGreat restaurant with a nice wine selection. Innovative cooking, good service.
Second time here and still like it. Good fusion food with great service. Fun atmosphere. Shared the 9-course tasting menu with my family and the staff were understanding. Recommend you try some of their cocktails 🍸🍹🥃
MoreBrought my wife to celebrate her birthday here. Every moment spent here was awesome. From the moment we got down from our ride, someone was already picking us with an umbrella due to the rain. Service was top notch. The food was simply devine, we had never had such wonderfully prepared meals before, we can literally feel the hard work and dedication the chef(sput into every dish. The Tiger prawn starter had so many layers of taste that every bite was different (and delicious). The Alaskan Cod was the gem, never had we had fish so well prepared (and im quite picky on my fish), the lime & salt sauce was refreshing yet mild enough that it doesnt cover the "freshness" of the Cod. Also had lots of surpises throughout the whole night, thank you so much to the whole team for giving us a wonderful & unforgettable experience. Hope to come back again the next time were in Bangkok.
MoreVery good price for the atmosphere. Nice space inside with exposed bricks and sailor jerry tattoo art on the walls and mood lighting. Dishes ranged from 130-220 (depending on how many patties you get for burgers). Good wine and beer selection. Fancy place for modest prices.
MoreNice interior and plenty of interesting spaces including a downstairs bar area, dining on the second floor, and an indoor and outdoor bar area on the third floor. Food is quite pricey even for Bangkok standards, but it was well presented and tasty although a bit small on some of the portions. Recommended for the experience if you dont mind paying 1000+ BHT per person for a meal and a drink.
MorePretentious overpriced local hipster place -> restaurant and bar.Drinks are decent but overpriced, the value is simply not ok.Food could not convince me. Location is pretty good (in Sathorn).I hardly see a reason to go there but no reason not to go as well - if you dont mind the broken value ratio.
MoreMy review is supposed to be three stars or under but their service earns (very deservinglythe fourth star.Ok, the reason it couldve been a three-star review : The main dish my husband ordered unfortunately had a little mishap (wont mention the detail because it was not a huge deal. Additionally, his chicken was a bit sour, but fortunately my husband happens to like sourness. However, from the description of the meal it didnt sound like it was going to be sour so it was a little disappointing. I ordered a lobster ravioli with black truffle. The taste and smell were fresh but in my opinion the dough was a bit chewy. Were they going for al-dente? I usually prefer al-dente but this one seemed a bit underdone. Now, the reason this place deserves an extra star: they just down-right know how to serve their customers! We mustve gotten ten apologies from four different people. Of course they didnt charge us for the mishap dish but they also offered us desserts on the house. Three of them! It was a very nice touch. But the food aside, I really appreciated their lady waitress genuine smile and apology. Team Bunker, shes a keeper! And thanks for escorting us out, manager. Good job on that!
MoreExquisite, chic, and a tender feeling of home mixed into delicious food and spectacular drinks. Been here a couple of times, still cant get over their beef ribs for two. Their desserts won me over for a person born without a sweet tooth!
MoreThe food is truly amazing, they use finely picked ingredients that are professionally prepared and blended together to make food that is both unique in taste and deeply satisfying. My only complaint is the food portions. I think Its too small. If youre coming here on an empty stomach, be prepared to order more than you think.
MoreI lived in New York before and to be at Bunker is like going back to my big apple. Food menu is very adventurous it might seem to be hard to get for "conservative" diners but if you are looking for something new this is the place for you. The restaurant is very beautiful, the cocktail is great and the service is very friendly.
MoreWe stumbled upon this place rather by incident while taking a stroll through Bangkok Silom district. The building stood out, we did a quick check online, made a reservation and went for it, not sure what to hope for…This place is an absolute gem in the heart of Bangkok. The ambience is casual (don’t wear shorts though), young and fresh but with respect for etiquette and tradition. They had tunes by J Dilla while pouring excellent wine hand picked by their sommelier Andrea. It just felt absolutely right. Andrea even apologised for a slightly bigger and “loud" table. For us, it only added to the ambience. :-)After having a cocktail, we had a talk with Manop (the manager, super friendly guyabout some recommendations and went for the fixed menu with wine pairings. We were ready for whatever was coming to us but we couldn’t expect anything like this. From the small appetizer consisting of a madeleine cake with salty butter, to the carrots, Veal agnolotti and Wagyu filet mignon, everything was absolutely perfect. We’re from Belgium and used to good food and fine dining, but this was beyond every expectation. The best damn food I’ve had by far. It’s at a slightly higher pricepoint for Thailand (we paid around €95 per personbut worth every last penny. Don’t forget Arnold (the chefworked at a 3-star (3!Michelin restaurant and ran the kitchen of Aldea (1-star Michelin). When you take this into account, their pricepoint isn’t too bad.Even though i didnt tell them it was my 30th birthday, every minute felt like I did tell them. Thanks for the amazing evening everyone and good luck in the future!
MoreWe went to Bunker for my girlfriends Birthday, they made us feel special. The service was extremely attentive. The food was excellent with a wide range of wines. We choose a lovely Rioja wine, I had lamb shoulder and my girlfriend had wagyu beef filet mignon. Both dishes were cooked excellently.
MoreI really like this restaurant and bar because it is so different. Bunker feels like a fortified WWII compound with thick concrete walls. For patrons seeking a view outside, the third floor has an open balcony with good views of the Sathorn skyline.Within these walls, Chef Arnie creates innovative dishes influenced by his classic training at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and his vast experience working in the kitchens of three different Michelin Star rated restaurants in New York City.Wine is an important part of the Bunker experience and there is no one better to help you select the perfect bottle than Andreas the Beverage Director. He has assembled an impressive wine list from the new and old world. He is friendly and happy to talk about wine but wont intimidate you.
MoreThe food had a distinct American Asian fusion character which is enjoyable. Bare concrete contemporary feel. Service was great. Chef is trying to be everything to everyone. Choose your direction and specific culinary character and pursue excellence in it. Greatness is in simplicity and fresh products. Recommend for a western oriented meal.
MoreTop SpotSampled 7 dishes, all of which were excellent.+ one gets a nice view into the open kitchen, good service and good drinks.A bit on the pricey side but in the end you get what you pay for.Highly recommended!
MoreGood modern western food here. Unfortunately the cocktails were disappointing.
