Bully Ranch Restaurant in Dillon
Description
Privilege
Food is great here! Pork chop is the juiciest and tasty I’ve ever had! Diego (our server)was awesome. Spencer made the cutest snowman ever. Steve the snowman wants to invite you to check him out!
MoreWow! This place has two of the best burgers I have ever had. Granted, its expensive, but it is in Vail Village at the Sonnenalp and its totally worth it. Both the Bully Bourbon Burger and the Buffalo Black & Blue Burger are fantastic. And the Truffle Fries are great, too. My wife likes the cookie sandwich for dessert. The only downside is that they used to dip it in chocolate and now they only drizzle it with chocolate. You likely couldnt go wrong with anything on the menu. One strange but inconsequential thing is that this restaurant has a 1800s western vibe. I assumed that it was themed after Teddy Roosevelt because of the name. My understanding is that "Bully" was one of Roosevelts favorite words. But no one who works at the restaurant has ever been able to confirm this connection. Either way, its a great place.
MoreWe recently hosted a lunch for our company retreat at Bully Ranch for a group of 27 people and were impressed by the incredible food and experience. Maggie was amazing at helping us coordinate all of the details of our event and was extremely flexible with any changes we wanted. The food was delicious too - especially the truffle tater tots!
MoreGood service. The flatbread pizza was fairly bland for a pizza oven. The elk pasta was good. They were child friendly with high chairs. We had a little wait to get in but the food was fairly quick.
MoreOne of three restaurants located in the Sonnenalp. Not as high end as the Swiss Chalet or Ludwigs but Bully Ranch still has solid tavern style food and the service has always been good. If you looking for a nice pub style experience the Bully Ranch Restaurant is a great spot to visit while in Vail Village.
MoreWe chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and it was absolutely gorgeous experience! All food was delicious. Today I tried the best burger in my entire lifeBut the most of all I liked our waiter 🥰 He was attentive and respectful. He helps us to create unforgettable emotions. I love this place!
MoreCustomer service was exceptional but the food was just okay. Definitely not worth $25 for a burger. The meat had no flavor on my burger and my husband ordered his burger medium rare but it came out well done. But again the staff were second to none.
MoreI’ve known about Bully Ranch for years but never stopped in. I wanted to sit on the patio, which looks amazing, but it was raining the evening we were here. The interior was beautiful so it wasn’t a disappointment to be inside. Our server may have been new but she was friendly and very pleasant. The food was really impressive. I had the fried chicken sandwich with the tomato cheddar soup on the side and it was all delicious. The sandwich was so big that I took half home and it was still a full meal. Overall, this was a great experience.
MoreSo great! Our server, Denise was fantastic! The food was phenomenal! Don’t skip on the Peach & Burrata Salad or the Roasted Cauliflower. The broccolini was A+!
More3 hours to get 1 course served. Food was sub par. No communication about delay. No apology or offer to fix issue.
MoreSo good! We had the rainbow trout and the scottish salmon, terrific!Ordered classic margarita which was amazing as wellHighly recommended
MoreGreat atmosphere, service and food. Loved the bison burger. Patio seating is great.
MoreHad a lovely dinner tonight. Food was worthy. Spencer was our waiter and exceeded our other service experiences in Vail so far.
MoreThe portions are great. The burgers are flavorful and juicy, but not all the food was cooked to the same quality. The fries and tots are good too. The coke is on point.
MoreBeautiful restaurant attached to the Sonnenalp hotel, awesome food and great environment! Shoutout to the Australian bartender Matt, manager Matt, servers Brett, Jackie and Maria, along with the host and supports Fru, Jocelyn, and Lizzy! Plus those that made my delicious food, Alvaro, Josh, Josh, and Vicky 🫶🏻
MoreMeh. Burger was cooked too long and tots were fine. Would compare to Chili’s, but $25 for the burger.
MoreThe service was amazing. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Really made our visit and dine in awesome. The food was also great, a little on the higher price point but as to be expected in the area. Buffalo chicken sandwhich and pretty much any of the burgers were delicious and big portioed. Cant say the same for the flat bread pizzas. The flat bread had no give and was pretty much a saltine cracker with cheese and toppings. But dont let that deter you. Again, the sandwiches are awesome!!
MoreI ordered a vegan burger, it came out with bacon. They attempted to fix it and it came out with blue cheese sauce still. For the cost of the food they should know the menu.
MoreFast seating and service. Very Vail Colorado atmosphere. Food was delicious.
Hadnt visited since last June. I would guess they changed chefs or something. The menu had major changes. I usually went for their ribs...now they are being too "fancy" with them and they have become too saucy and oddly flavored. The Truffle Tots also seem less "truffly" and werent as good. They changed the side Caesar...taste was better, but portion was smaller. My wife did not like their new version of their trout. Ambience (we sit on the patioand service were excellent as always.
MoreNice place, super attentive and friendly staff. The wagyu bourbon burger with broccolini was delicious. The Caesar Salad with chicken didnt seem worth the price but overall a nice pit stop lunch on our way thru Colorado.
MoreGreat food, great atmosphere, great beer and great service, definitely recommend when you are in Vail
MoreVery cool vibe, great food and service! Jackie took care of us and did an amazing job! The blazing saddles whiskey drink was refreshing and enjoyable. We got (sorry not picturedthe shrimp aquachili, wild boar chili and creamy tomato soup for apps. All were amazing!!! For entrees we got the Scottish salmon and elk bolognese and they were both very delicious. Highly recommend when in Vail.
MoreThe Bully Bourbon Burger was amazing and super flavorful! Highly recommend them and the Truffle Tots!
MoreGr8 service from our waiter Mark, he recommended the desert in the photos i added double chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookie! Delicious!
MoreThe only complaint I could possibly have is that the burger was too big for my mouth, but as a burger enthusiast Im not upset at all! Great fries, great wings, and Brett was very attentive and helpful!
MoreThis is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful ranch feel to it. But the food was a major letdown. I got the Elk Bolognese. I would of enjoyed normal spaghetti more than this dish. It sounded great on paper, but just wasnt working. What really put me off is that it didnt come with Bread or anything. I asked for Parmigiano Cheese. It took forever to get, and then they charged me for the cheese!!!! Holy Cow. You are already charging a ton of money, just give people some bread and cheese!!! Looking around at other peoples dishes, I would say the steaks are they way to go. They looked amazing. Skip the pasta. The burgers looked good as well. Of you want Elk Bolognese go to the Pullman in Glenwood Springs. They set the bar.
MoreAmazing food! I had the waygu burger and tots and brocolini and all were amazing. The 3 other people I dined with also really enjoyed their meals. We visited Vail in May and no other restaurants were open other than this one, but we are glad we found it!
MoreThis place was beautiful. However the bar tender never filled my water or asked me how my food was. I was right at the bar we made eye contact ever 5 minutes or so... I was traveling alone after 3 days in the car I stopped in. I felt out of place and everyone including the staff treated me that way. I ordered a salmon burger thinking I was going to get a salmon patty but it was just a filet on a bun. Had to use a knife and fork to eat it. Honestly I was alone drank only water and dessert I spent 50 dollars 😳. That being said I wanted a dessert and a glass of wine but was never offered so I left. Wont be back.
MoreIve got to be honest. I wasnt expecting much from the ribs at this restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how good they are. I also appreciate they are gluten free. The BBQ sauce and rub used on the ribs is amazing! The meat really does fall off the bone on every single rib. I highly recommend the ribs here. Unfortunately, the service was just okay, but I can over look that this time due to the quality of the food.
MoreI’ve never seen this restaurant before but I came upon it because it was one of the few serving late lunch. I was not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. I sat at the bar and the bartender was always attentive. The truffle and Parmesan tots were amazing. The meatballs were good and the addition of the mozzarella cheese gave it a nice creamy texture.
MoreGreat dinner - the wings were excellent and a must order. So was the bison burger
MoreThe restaurant has a very charming and cozy interior. It was too cold to sit outside. The staff was very friendly and attentive, they made few mistakes but nothing major.I started off with the Whipped Ricotta, it’s to die for. Then I had the Elk Bolognese and it was outstanding.I was with a big group and we all enjoyed our food.Highly recommend!!!
MoreAbsolutely amazing food and service! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon and we loved it. Had some awesome wine with our dinner, too! HIGHLY recommend.
MoreArrived at 5:30 for dinner. Zak, the inhospitable host, offered us a table by door, between two other diners, or at the bar, despite the amount of empty tables EVERYWHERE. Stayed after dinner to watch World Series. Tables were not occupied for over 2 hours after our arrival. Not a pleasant experience even tho food was good and server Denise was lovely and attentive.
MoreWe were visiting in Vail in mid October, which we were NOT aware was considered off season. We took the transit, which is free 👍 and convenient if you dont want to drive and try to find parking, to downtown shopping. It became cold and snowy so we looked for somewhere OPEN to eat lunch, what a great surprise. We ordered the Bully Bourbon Burger, they only serve wagyu beef, we both agreed best burger we have ever eaten and the tomatoe soup was awesome not your everyday tomatoe soup. The atmosphere was awesome, laid back class and very friendly. Not cheap but you are in Vail, but worth it.
MoreGood steaks, nice ambience. We had the best server we’ve ever had in the US. Sigi made an average meal exceptional with her passion and positive personality. Come for the steaks stay for the server.
MoreThe ambiance is really nice, things are super neet and that whole atmosphere is great for a nice dinning experience, the service is good, but it could be great, Food is really good and is adequate to the price and place its situated.
MoreOrdered the “Grilled Palisade Peach” salad. We got canned peaches on our $18 salad. When I specifically asked about the peaches, I was reassured they were grilled - they lied to my face. They were mushy, tasted like syrup, no grill marks, and no skin. They didn’t even try to mask it.Total waste of money and you don’t get what you pay for. Also, they changed their entire menu. The nachos were not what they used to be.
MoreFantastic menu selection and great prices especially for Vail. The Bavarian pretzel app is a MUST! Also had the fish tacos and bourbon glaze burger. Both were delicious. Tomato cheddar soup was interesting..not my favorite tomato soup I’ve ever had but not bad. The service was quick and very professional from start to finish. I definitely recommend a reservation on Open Table.
MoreGreat environment and great food. Very diverse menu and excellent service. Brett our waiter was awesome and the food was outstanding.
MoreBeautiful restaurant with excellent service and delicious food! We were so lucky to enjoy one of the last pleasant evenings on the patio. Cameron took great care of us! Recommend the BFC - Bully Fried Chicken sandwich with the truffle tots!
MoreMy wife and I will definitely come back when we visit Vail again! Our server Vincent was friendly and had great recommendations. The food was great (the Chicken Tortilla Soup and Bully Bourbon Burger especially)! The cherry on top is that the bathrooms were the best Ive ever seen 😂
MoreAfter a hiking our first 14er, we were ready for a great meal and Bully Ranch did not disappoint! The atmosphere is playful with a Western theme. Sigi was our server and she was fantastic-with a suggestion of the Wagyu beef burger and truffle tater tots-it was a perfect way to end our day. We were more than comfortable in our hiking gear there.......all attire was welcome.
MoreService was good and the food was mostly flavorful. I appreciate their thoughtful ingredients. We shared a big plate of nachos from the appetizer menu, as pictured. It was pretty filling. We both had chicken tortilla soup, which we did not enjoy much, although we liked the recipe (wasnt much flavor somehow). We still rank this restaurant as one of the best experiences on our last trip. Casual and welcoming environment. Will visit again.
MoreVery Texan style ambience. The ribs were good so was the trout. Big Texan portions friendly service is the catch here.
MoreWarning - the portions are huge! We ordered nachos, Ive skied smaller :The beef tacos with truffle tots is a meal for two also. We used three boxes to bring the rest back with us. Quality of food was decent and service was friendly (people from all over the world come to work there). Prices are quite high, I uploaded a newer menu, but if you share very reasonable!
MoreThe food was exceptional. I had the Durango burger with 7x beef. It was a large, flavorful and perfectly cooked burger. For a side, I had the coleslaw and it was great. The service was friendly and very attentive. Diego was our waiter and he was perfect. I recommend the draft Vail Blonde.
MoreWe had a great experience here for lunch. We had a big crowd, 9 adults and 3 kids, but the wait staff was attentive and worked as a team to take care of us. The wait was reasonable, kids menus and crayons were provided, and the meal was delicious. The nachos are HUGE and the artichoke dip was probably the best Ive ever had. Burgers are the real deal, and I will return again. The desserts were an amazing end to the dining experience.
MoreTheir Pretzel appetizer is the best! Service was good, despite being busy. Dined outside on the patio, overall a very pleasant experience with a fun and family friendly atmosphere.
