Dirty, ANIMAL SACRIFICE - many people refuse to visit the shrines here because of this animal slaughtering practice.

Beautiful tourist place where we see the beauty of nature besides this temple...

Place is good to worship. But animals are slaughtered freely and environment looks a bit bad due to blood. It would be good if the slaughter was carried out outside the temple. Bamboos are available densely.

I was expecting something good ambiance with peaceful management around Budhasubba Temple because it’s so famous all over Nepal.Despite of having good religious value it’s not maintained properly by local governments as well as from provincial level.Seriously this temple deserve more care than this actually got.In the vicinity of the temple, initially there is trend to tie pair of sacred/religious threads in the different area of a temple for the success of the love mainly in the tipless bamboo .There was a trend of writing on the bamboo tree. The young men who came to visit the temple would return only by writing a name on bamboo as it is believed that writing the name of lovers will give success in their love. But, the temple committee has stopped the name writings on the bamboo as the name writings of the bamboo hampered the growth of the bamboo with the increase in bamboo writings.

So beautiful place 😇🥰And a sweet and soft sounds is always playing this place ❤️I am too much addicted to this sounds 💞

Must Visit, it has scenetic view, as well on the top of mountains, very lovely people of Nepal and the Lord Shiva Mandir is as well located little below this Mandir, Pray here anything you will get it wished surely but from pure heart.

Very popular temple of the Eastern part of Nepal. Mostly crowded, bamboo that grows in temple periphery do not have the tip, which can easily be viewed. Also people tie threads in bamboo to make their love last forever. People from all over Nepal and even India visit this temple.

If you want to see chicken and pigs get slaughtered in a temple. Then this is a place for you.

A beautiful place above dharan, peaceful and full of devotees, strengthening peoples beliefs on wishes and trust on god.

At approx 5 km from the Dharan bus stand. You dont need to walk to the temple. A 3 wheeler tempo can be hired @ NRs 150 (for 3-4 personsto the temple gate. Actually they charge for the vehicle whether travel alone or in a group of 3-4 person, the rate is same. You can take your own worshipping stuffs and offerings or can buy there at the gate of the temple. As compared to normal weekdays, its over crowded on Saturdays. Animal (I saw chicken only)sacrifices is allowed. Separate queue for worshipping and for sacrifices. I liked the strands of strings, tied to mark ones wishes, everywhere around the temple.

Loved the experience of being close to the holy shrine of the limbus....feeling blessed after my visit.

The Bamboo trees over here have no tips, the peculiarity of this place. Budha Subba temple is also the tomb of the last Limbu King of Morang Kingdom of Limbuwan Present day Nepal, Budhhi Karna Raya Khewang . He was tricked into coming to Bijaypur-Dharan for a negotiation, then killed by the assassins of King Prithvi Narayan Shah of Gorkha Kingdom Present day Nepal. Budhhi Karna Raya Khewangs soul is believed to have wandered around the area of his tomb around Bijaypur and was said to be a friendly and helpful spirit. Then local Limbu people started worshipping the soul as an old king (Subba or Haang means King in Limbu language / ᤕᤠᤰᤌᤢᤱ ᤐᤠᤣbelieving it to be bring good luck. Bijaypur-Dharan was the capital city of the Morang and the political and economic centre of Limbuwan region. Few temples are also located nearby at close proximity like Pideshwor temple and Dantakali temple.
