Budget Youth Hostel in Bad Säckingen

This place is great for the price, I went in November for 44€ the night. I think that costume service isnt that good because the people dont speak English but everything else was super, the room was clean, the shower too, and they even give us a piece of pancake 🥞 so ill give it 5stars 👌

Really affordable rooms at 15 mins from the central. Rooms are clean, washrooms are well maintained. Agor, the house manager does a good job of managing the place, hes friendly, reasonable. He doesnt speak much English but is always eager to help.

Out of the way hostel in Zurich. It is a fifteen minute bus ride to the central station and located close to the river. There are supermarkets nearby and a few restaurants.The manager keeps the hostel very clean. There are only two bathrooms (one which also has a showerand one separate showering room. So at busy times it can be a long wait to use the bathroom. The hostel also has a washer machine and dryer that you can use for five francs.The rooms are at times overcrowded. They are nominally listed as being for 4 or 6 people, but sometimes there will be 5 or 7 people instead. You cannot choose whether you want a top or bottom bunk ahead of time (if the room is fully booked), but if space comes up the manager is willing to let you swap. There is an option to get a locker for a 10 franc (or eurodeposit. The stay comes with linens and a towel.

The hostel is located a bit outside the city, that you can reach with a 20/25-minute bus ride (depending on traffic). It stands in a residential area close to the river and several parks.The hostel itself is okay, with a nice garden and a well equipped kitchen. The common areas are not big enough when the hostel is full, especially the bathrooms that are only 2 (the full capacity of the hostel is 20 guests).Rooms are clean and not overcrowded, even though we booked a 4-bed dormitory room when there were actually 5 beds in the room.Its a bit pricy, but I guess these are the standards of Switzerland.

Totally not recommended,1. Legally, their cognitions contradict themselves. The owner announces here to be a private house, it is then even not legal to be a youth hostel. Should be put on Airbnb but not booking to confuse the travellers. The owner could easily misuse the ownership of domicile, like throw guests out or not allowed them to enter. Even they could forbid you to talk with each other by announcing that it is on their private place.Normally cleaning and laundry for the hostel is not seen in guest area, here is the opposite. Since the management work is on the same space with the guests living areas, they ask you to give them space for their work. I was shocked to see, the receptionist entered the bathroom, took my womens underwear and socks, cannot keep distance and try to provoke and quarrel when I was about to bath. Even he closed the bathroom door, and talked to me on my face, saying "When you leave here tomorrow, and I hope not to never see you again." Is this something a front desk executive is allowed to say to customers?2. Living here, you have very few rights and freedom. They have a very late check in time 16:00, strictly controlled the check in or check out time, not a bit space is given. If you are not happy about their attitude, there will be a big dispute which can ruin your day of travel.They over-emphasize that this is the cheapest hostel in the city, maybe less than 10 CHF difference. However not true, as they will try to take every money in every way. If you want them to keep your luggage for a short period of time, they will charge CHF 10. They clearly have the worst security risk but ask you to pay 30 francs to get a locker. They turn all the dereliction of duty they provide for their guests into what you fail to meet their rules. Guests, beware of such traps and manipulations!

This is the worst youth hostel I have ever experienced, the bad inhuman service cannot be found in another hostel in the world. It is even dangerous if you consider what can happen here.People must be aware, this is not really a youth hostel, but 20 sleeping beds put in a super crowded way under rooms in basement in a small private house. Since there is not enough space, the person who is managing the house has a life mixed with guests, including eating on the same table with you and doing the laundry for the hostel which occupies the guests space to shower, dress and toilet.Thus they somewhat openly give themselves excuses to control people or interfere into personal issues of passengers by telling them it is management. So you must be aware it feels like you are living closely with your landlord with no space to breath. The owner is a Ukrainian lady who I consider rude, heartless, extreme and helpless. If there is anything went wrong, she will never help you, but blindly support her Staff to misbehave further.What is worse is that she hired a Ukrainian guy who is the worst choice to be put as receptionist. He cannot speak any good English, German, French, Spanish or Italian, but only Russian, and communicate with you through goole, he often misunderstand and misbehave. He likes to provoke others very much, cant restrain his desire for control, often commits aggressive and illegal behavior, like hides at the door eavesdropping on your conversations, prevents you from talking to others etc. He takes different behavior to different guests completely based on his own preferences, very unprofessional front desk staff.It seems like the management team is not at all willing to do service but expect the guests to serve them. When disputes and troubles arise, their ask for your compassion for Ukrainians is totally misused and abused here. The management is very bad and chaotic, both in terms of human nature and emotion, and in terms of logic and jurisprudence.

Das schlechteste Hostel, in dem ich je übernachtet habe, ich kann es nicht empfehlen, der Service ist schrecklich und es gibt keine Kommunikation, das Personal an der Rezeption spricht kein Englisch oder Deutsch und behandelt Sie sehr schlecht. Wenn Sie die Möglichkeit haben, einen anderen zu wählen, empfehle ich einen anderen Ort.The worst hostel Ive ever stayed at, I dont recommend it, the service is terrible, and there is no communication, the reception staff doesnt speak English or German, and they treat you very badly. Local um pouco complicado de se achar no maps.

Bon accueil, bien propre et multiculturel. Le personnel est également très disponible.

On a réservé pour 2 personnes mais cest annulé sans notre accord. Enfin on sest fait viré pour ce quon a déjà booké et les frais dannulation nous coute 157 euros sur Booking.com. Lemplacement est assez difficile à trouver.

Only 2 showers for 20 people. Thats makes things complicated especially in the morning and in the evening.

Really small house with only one person hired as staff. It is okay if you are staying for a night and are looking for something cheap. They charged me extra for linens and it is lights out at 11/12 like a boarding school.

Very nice walls and welcoming. We’ll be back in the future.

Отличный молодежный хостел по лучшей цене в городе. Красивый вид из окна на город. В хостеле чисто и тихо, есть удобная терраса, где в любой момент можно подышать свежим воздухом. Рекомендую всем.

Хороший и отзывчивый персонал, внимательно выслушали, аккуратно поселили, угостили кофе и шоколадкой, отличный сервис. Хороший и ухоженный дом, с красивым видом на Цюрих. Рекомендую всем.

Exakt 13 Minuten vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt. Ich hab mir die 1-Stern Bewertungen durchgelesen und finde es unangemessen, weil das Preis-Leistungs-Niveau hierbei meinetwegen stimmt: 25€ die Nacht. Ungefähr 10€ upon arrival für bedsheets und noch einen anderen Service hab ich vergessen. Die Jungs, die das betreiben sind Ukrainer und haben meiner Meinung nach das Herz am rechten Fleck.Was natürlich stimmt. Sicherheit wird hier nicht großgeschrieben, sondern Einfachheit und Vertrauen. Die Zimmertüren der mehrbettzimmer bleiben offen.Außer super vorsichtigen Personen kann ich das Hostel jedem empfehlen. Bei weiteren Fragen schreibt mir auf Insta: levi2512bro

Dont stay here. Overbooked and they had me sleeping in the dang dining room on a couch. A pretty terrible couch. Anyone who gave this place more than one star any time recently must have been paid.

Very awkward location too far from center. But was the cheapest. Staff were not very friendly hardly understand English.

Never ever, even get closer to this place. The two Russian speaks merely a few words of German and English. It is just like a private house and has nothing to do with being a hostel. It definitely does not deserve the price and thankfully it is pretty hard to figure out its exact location. Bear in mind that, you will also endanger your belongings security as well as your life.

Unorganzied! I booked a bed in a 8 bed room. They have overbookings and now they want that i stay in the kitchen on a couch a long with a nother guy!!!! Went to lots of places but never experienced before.

Good place for a day or two. Breakfast is good but unfortunately theres too few bathrooms for the people there.

Nice & cheap place to stay in Zurich ! And even it is cheap, the breakfast is included :)

Very good hostel. Building very clean and tidy in a pleasant and calm environment. Staff was very helpful. Can easily go to citycentre in 10 minutes.

It is not a hostel, rooms without a key, whoever enters the room.<br/>Very noisy washing machine, we booked a three-bed room and they put us in one of eight.<br/>The bathrooms are not clean, and there are very few (2), sometimes there is no hot water in the showers, (there are only two showers and dirty),<br/>The treatment of pesonal is nefarious and unfriendly, you can only communicate with them in Russian or German, they do not know English.<br/>Breakfast is from the previous day and in poor condition, Many mosquitoes, and spiders inside the sheets. I repeat, people from outside come in because there is no reception at the door, they dont give you keys or a card to enter, 24 hours open all the doors. (A Korean was robbed of the laptop, and in the dining room sleeping on chairs or on floor. FLEE FROM THAT SITE, GO AWAY.<br/>POSITIVE: THERE IS A PERSON CALLED ALEX (GOOD PERSON), GOOD LOCATION

This is not a hostel! I wish I had known this before booking! Youre basically living in someones house, you cant come and go as you like because you dont get any keys. As I solo female traveler, the fact that you couldnt lock the room at night and the fact that I had to ask someone to unlock the front door when I wanted to go out made me feel very unsafe, like a prisoner. Floors dirty, bed sheets not even dry when I got them and you had to pay 2 CHF/night at a BUDGET hostel. AVOID!
