Iconic pizza chain (since 1946) known for its square slices & soups, plus other Italian & fast fare.
Love Buddys!!! Great pizza, wings, and salads. Service is awesome. Get here early, line seems to get long.
Disappointed in last two visits. Sat at bar, hoping to get service from Mandy. Unfortunately she was hardly ever present ,working in other areas. No refills & pizza took way to long & arrived warm, not hot out of the oven. Your prices are for excellent product & service, & its not happening
We had early dinner, 4:30ish. Missed the rush, not to loud when we got there, louder when we left. Food was very good.
Awesome gluten free pizza! I recommend the 6 mile. Waiter was very attentive.
We had a reservation for 30 people and Shaun did exceptionally well with our large group! The food runners brought out the food in a timely fashion and it all tasted amazing
Everything on Tap is warm dont order anything that doesnt have ice in it lol. Our table was next to hostess stand by door and buss boys and hostes/waitresses smacking each other with towels screaming right in our ears as they were standing literally next to us smh. Pizza was good, everything else kinda sucked.
My first time at the Livonia location, it was nice. I like the way the restaurant is set up, its a large place. The service was on point. The food was so good. I tried something besides pizza for the first time and I was not disappointed. I had 2 appetizers: meatballs and hot wings. I was pleased to see vernors float on the menu, so I had to order one.
Im a little worried about this particular branch. Ive been coming here for a couple decades and can usually count on them, but the quality of their carry out has noticeably dropped. On a non-busy Monday afternoon, I called for an 8-square takeout pizza. After I arrived in 15 minutes, I was told Id have to wait a bit, which I was okay with. However, it took 45 minutes at least for them to make my order, and it was a 4-square pizza, half of what I ordered. While it all tasted good and the staff was genuinely apologetic, Im still not happy about only getting half of what I paid for. I have high hopes that they fix these issues soon.
Buddys pizza. A staple of Michigan. Always wanted to go. But never made it there. After 40yrs in Michigan. I finally made it. So excited to try it. And it did not deliver anything Ive been told or was wanting to experience. Waitress was not too busy. But very slow on everything. Drinks, appetizers, pizza and bill. The appetizers were ok. Drinks. 5 Sodas took about 10 minutes. Appetizers. Buddys bread was a little hard and not warm. Cheese bacon fries were disappointing aswell. Fries were so soggy with hardly any bacon. Pizza. BBQ chicken and the Detroiter. 4 or 8sq are the only choices. Found that difficult to find a way to share and leave feeling full with party of 5. I think the bad start left us unable to enjoy the main reason of coming there. The pizza. That was the best part but still didnt deliver what I was hoping for. After an extended wait time for the check. Finally seen server ro ask for it. Making this an overall bad experience
Somebody asked me to go Id never heard of the place. It has all sorts of magazines say how awesome its pizza is on the wall, best of the state. I have to agree it was really good its. Im definitely looking forward to eating some of the other things on the menu.
Allowed order to be placed on doordash by 9:40 ours was placed at 9:20. Doordash driver arrived at 10:15 and unable to get into building. We called buddy’s and they said “we close our doors at 10pm” and when we asked if the driver could come in to pick up the order they said “no we threw it away when they weren’t here at 10pm.” Doordash refunded transaction.
Best pizza in town! My wife and I, always enjoy coming here. The waitress, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We have been coming here for years, never dissapointed.
This place has been a family favorite for years but recently they changed their menu. The salad dressings (ranch and bleu cheeseare all watery, the draft beers were warm (we tried 3 different kinds), the broccoli soup is awful now and the servers were terrible the last few visits. Time to move on 😢
Pizza was delicious. Had Detroit style, lots of meat & veggies. Perfectly baked. Lots of flavor. My wifes burger was also perfectly cooked and very tasty. Fries were great!
The foid was excellent better than Juicy crab...the setting is nice, great individual, the owner is very helpful.... i give this place 10 stars....verynice
Great restaurant. Been here a few times with work crew and have always had good service. I have tried the Hawaiian pizza and 6 mile. Both are exceptionally well!
Ive been eating buddys pizza for 45 years. Todays was the worst Ive ever had. They said itd be ready in 20 minutes, I was there within 25. Was already cold and had absolutely no crunch. Pretty poor job for $3/slice...
Food was good but it took a long time, and VERY EXPENSIVE for what we are getting..feels like its double what it should be... and i hate having the tip forced upon us,its really not a tip anymore, its a fee..maybe thats why it took so long?
26 bucks gets you a pizza thrown together with less pepperoni than little Caesars
So sad. Buddys is the place to go! Great service, food and atmosphere. However Saturdays trip was not this at all. Started off with the wrong drinks being brought but no big deal, it was caught and corrected. Then a very long wait with no communication from our server. They brought out the pizza eventually but did not get the garlic cheese bread we had ordered initially. They agreed to get it. The pizza was not hot, it had been sitting and same with the bread. After the food was brought, we did not see our server again until she brought the bill. Did not ask or refill our drinks, did not ask if we wanted anything else. The food and the service was poor and it was a disappointment from a place we love to eat at.
Love the deep dish pizzas at Buddys! Service was great, as the hostess and waitress were friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy to be there.
Buddy’s pizza is one of my favourite restaurants, I just love the vibe that this place has. The food is also amazing, I love Mediterranean pizza and bbq wings the most. Their service is great even if the restaurant is crowded.
Went on Wednesday night and sat at the bar, summer was our bartender and she was she great! It was my husbands first time and he absolutely loved all her suggestions and drinks! She made us some very lovely cocktails, we will definitely be back Wednesdays for summer!
The service for our 4 corner pizza took 35 minutes to arrive and we had to ask two times regarding our order. When we received it was delivered to us luke warm informed our server and she said OH!The soda drinks are very expensive $3.49 for one small glass of Pepsi. We will never return to this Buddy’s Pizza Do yourself a favor and go to some other pizza parlor for better service and food.
Had a great antipasto salad!! Bought the medium so I could take some home for dinner! Service was excellent. Comfortable atmosphere!
It was such a great place for pizza! Totally recommend. And the bread was amazing!
Its okay. $15 for a 4 square pizza with paper thin ham and pineapple was definitely over priced. You could get more bang for your buck else where. The wings were also small and over cooked. I wouldnt return.
Buddys is always good. Great pizza and so many options or build your own. The antipasto salad is the best!
I visited the Livonia location on Plymouth Road. Justis was so friendly and welcoming. So other than having the best tasting pizza crust, the excellent service will bring me back here.
Pizza wasnt a delicious as I remember it being 20 years ago. Meat deluxe mostly had ground beef in it with 1 pepperoni. The veggie sampler was soggy and no flavor on the batter. Wont go back for another 10-20 years.
Pizza was OK, but I ordered online and when I got my credit card statement is was listed as 105-OLO. No Business name or phone number. I almost had to cancel the card and dispute the charges. I called the Manager and she said she cant do nothing about that. Beware
This chain has really went downhill since they re-designed their image. It was about the time they took Lasagna off the menu. The Livonia store is run poorly in particular. I keep trying it again-and-again based on it historically being good, but continue to be disappointed. I think this place has reached the point of too much expansion and lost its roots and quality.
I went to buddys pizza because I had heard so much about how good their pizza is. When I got there everything was OK. I was seated at a long half booth half table I ordered my drink and pizza.when I got done, ordering, I went to wash my hands. When I came back out, they had seated a family of 2 adults and three children right next to me in the same booth. When I questioned it, they acted like I was unreasonable for not wanting strangers sitting right next to me in a booth. They then wanted to move me. I was there first and had already ordered so I just told the server and host i just wanted to take my food to go. I stood there for several minutes just watching the drink I had ordered sit out . Then stood there for a good while. I then asked to speak to a manager. She decided so would go and talk to the servers and totally ignored me as she walked past me! I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! I noticed the manager had a mask on I wonder, if she is so concerned about the virus, if she would be okay with sitting as close to strangers as they expected me to be, while she is eating?
Had a great time there. Went for a charity all-you-can-eat pizza and salad. Food was good. Loved the atmosphere.
Buddys is back to 100% post-covid operations!Tonight was the first time weve been back after Michigan released its stringent guidance for dine-in restaurants. All of the wait staff and the busboys were all walking with a quick step and moving with purpose, and smiles on their faces! Thats not something you see all the time anymore. The pizza tonight was excellent! We ordered anEast Detroiter adding some pineapple chunks because it sounded delicious. My wife and I noted that the pan edges of the pizza was slightly different than before. The crust seemed a little bit thinner and therefore not as much dough and cheese to caramelize along the edge of the baking pan.Nonetheless, the pizza was delicious. I could really taste the sauce had been supplemented with garlic and fresh basil. If I had any complaint at all, it would be the pizza needed to be adorned with a little more sauce.Thats just a personal preference for me, since I now bake pizza at home and I am in control of how much sauce can go on the pie.Kudos to buddies because they had lots of staff, they were all friendly, my glass was never empty, and I never felt neglected at any time. Well done!
Locals must love it, was packed. Sat at the bar, had a couple draft beers, antipasto salad, and a 4 peice spicy Italian pizza(wasnt spicy).Weve had better. Probably wont return.
One of the best pizza places and the in building dine in service was amazing and fast with very friendly staff. Definitely going back more often to this location. This is a must go if youre a fan of Detroit pizza
I ordered the Spicy Italian 4 Sq pizzia & Chicken Tenders with Marinara Sauce. I try to try a new pizza everytiime I go to Buddys Pizzia. The Chicken Tenders were nicely breaded. With the marinara sauce they remind you of Chicken Parm. Pizza was awesome.
Loved the pizza but wish they had garlic powder or some Italian seasoning to put on it. Very buttery crust nice and crunchy outside and soft inside. Sauce tasted great.
Wanted to compare with Warren store ordered the same pizza pineapple onion and ham September 29 looks messy this is taken in the car fresh from the carry out. Taste was so so. Not worth $20+ good thing I had a coupon.
Ordered carryout from here and the food wasnt that great for some reason. We ordered their Greektown and Eastern Market Veggie pizzas. It looked as though they were maybe rushing while making them. Greektown seemed to completely lack flavor while Eastern Market was quite flavorful. I have had their Margherita pizza in the past which was amazing. I am guessing it was probably one of their off days or something. Definitely worth a try though.
We really enjoyed the pizza. Very cheesy and tasty.
Okay this is Buddys Pizza and their pizza and Antipasto salad maybe one of the best in the city. Its pretty hard to have bad Pizza so the pizza is exceptional but I believe their Antipasto is the best ever. Ill give this place five stars for food but I took one star away as since they were bought they have taken a few things off the menu I miss, but overall great place.
My Mom is originally from MI but we live in TN now. We wanted to visit and to make sure we got some true Detroit style pizza while we were here. We got Grand River pizza and it was delicious!! Definitely recommend trying one of their locations!
First time at Buddys so I have nothing to compare it to, but the service was great and the food was great too. I ordered a 4 slice Cadillac (meat loverspizza for ~$14.30. I finished only 3 slices. Its a little more expensive than average, but its definitely worth a trip once in a while.
Omg one of the best food weve had! From salad to hot amazing bread with the perfect ranch dressing all before the main course 😋 go and try it. Our waitress was shamiel and shes awesome ❤❤❤. I would go back but unfortunately thanks to the virus were stuck at home and ordering take out is the best option. Omg that 🍞.
Center piece of History always clean always great service the food is traditional its fun always fresh. Ive been coming here since a kid and Ive just come home from Texas and is still the same . you feel the Thick History it in your stomach one of the greatest places to eat the food never disappoints keeping up with the times. Ty Buddys pizzaA big ty AND shout out. To. Our.Hostess: DaphneOur waitress: CourtneyAnd the Kitchen staffAnd a huge thank you to the manager Jeanette doing a great job organizing and running daily operations with smooth accurate and customer-friendly zing!
First things first. I usually dont rate bad. As most tastes are different and its hot quite objective. Also please note we ordered with Door dash and I know they take a piece of the price but even the $13-14 for these tiny Pizzas has to be a joke. Overall quality was meh at best. Which made it even worse. With all of tax, tip and delivery fee I paid $40 for two tiny almost appetizers.First and last time for us. Sorry.
Great place for family, friends or just grabbing a beer at the bar. Their house dressings are great, especially the Blue cheese dressing! The dressing is chunky with Blue cheese and is sure to please the blue cheese lover. As you can see we had an array of items off the menue and everything was good. However, my 6 yr old was not a fan of the pizza. The spinach lasagna was good I had it with the meat marinara sauce and I did find the meat sauce to be a bit salty. They only have two flavors for the chicken wings but they were cooked to perfection. For a family of 5 we spent about $70 before tip and we all had WATER so the prices are average. It would have been nice if they had a family friendly or shareable meal we could order for one price but the food was good.
Went here multiple times on a recent trip to Michigan. Really great deep dish with amazing crust. They offer to half bake pizzas for take out which was still amazing the next day. Recommended to a few friends who loved it as well. Definitely a must go if in Michigan.
