Horrible service ! Horrible food ! Horrible staff ! Horrible management! Decided to go out with a couple of friends to this place and it was the worst place we could choose. We got there at 7pm it was dead at the time, we ordered food and didn’t get it till 8pm AND it was the WRONG ORDER we told our server and he said he would correct it. Around 9 I got up because our server went MIA I asked the guy at the bar if he had any update on my order and he said “it’ll be out in a few minutes”. It was maybe 9:30 and nothing, our order still hadn’t came and our server was still MIA. We decided to ask the guy at the bar again about our order and he had a horrible attitude, he acted as I was bothering him with my order from HOURS ago, said apparently my order wasn’t showing in the system anymore, when he had just said it was going to be out “in a few minutes “ , didn’t make sense I truly believe he never even checked in the first place and just said that. Anyways, not sure what what happened but no reason why an order should take that long specially when the place was dead ! They asked I speak to the manger and he didn’t apologize either he himself gave me a hard time and said I was lying about my order even after I showed him my receipt! What hole experience here was just horrible from the service to the staff ! Never coming back ! Ps. Stayed little after 10pm and I never got my food 😂 ridiculous ! We got tacos across the street from a taco truck and they were delicious!

Great bar. Great staff. Felt welcomed to be there. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

cute bar. I recently moved back to Houston after being away for 10 years. When I lived in Houston it was a Vietnamese restaurant. I loved the way that the building looked. They make a killer bloody mary. There is a decent sized parking lot that you can find a spot in if you go during a not so busy time or happy hour. It is really conveniently located next to Bar Code and JRs which makes bar hopping easier. The only drawback is the drinks are kind of pricey but it is still fun.

Bartender was extremely rude (he’s a lean black guyI simply ordered a drink with a friend and it went left very fast he was inebriated, honestly as a bartender your job is to sell drinks there shouldn’t be any negativity I went in with a positive attitude and left with terrible energy will not be returning.

Went Valentine’s Day and it was dead as a RAT that just ate poison! Bar code and ripcord were the places to be at that night. Hmm maybe it’s the high drink prices or the word got around that you towed my car from your lot on a really slow night when your lot was empty. Ha! I was even promoting your Bar on my Twitter feed and that’s The love ❤️ I get back (towed my car). I’m out $260 maybe we could make up? you know how to get a hold of me🙄

Drinks are way too expensive for what is offered there. The bartender was rude. ("Mature" white with pet hair all over his clothingneeds a reality check.

After not being in Houston for a few years, I had the pleasure of seeing some of my favorite bartenders and personalities at Buddy’s (Matthew, Sarah, Chris, and David especially.Operated by the best in town, the drinks are on point, the crowd is fun and the food is fantastic!

For said block party, Buddy’s definitely did the best thing possible. Require vaccinations or negative COVID tests. On a regular club night, there is less people (not the same thing). Spread = length of exposure to virus x amount of viral load. For large events, I believe it was the best protocol possible. Buddy’s first bar to have a polling station. They have Amazon lockers to help the community out ….. First to lead on getting people vaccinated. Event was outdoors which all doctors believe is the best place to be. No kids allowed as they aren’t eligible for the vaccine. Limited tickets for social distancing. Block party was a partnership with another entity and health care partners. Buddy’s rocks right now. They are making the best moves and putting community first. So I say anyone who complains just wants to make noise while Buddy’s make a difference. Right now, they are making good moves so leave them alone.

I absolutely love going to Buddy’s!! Chris Barry is an amazing guy, and they have great bartenders and great food.

The food here is great and the atmosphere is awesome. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. I will be back!

This was my first time here this past LABOR DAY I enjoyed it all the staff "Chris" was very warmful & friendly& The music was awesome I dance and dance. I shall come again!!

Probably the best bar, ever, in my opinion. It is more than a bar it is a mini community center. I love how depending on the time of day the mood and culture change. I have stuck around and enjoyed all sorts of events. Vaccinations, voting, charity auctions, drag shows, trivia night, steak night and the list goes on! I have met the greatest people here, and the bar service is excellent. The food is really good. People recognize me here and take time to say hello. It is too bad that the specialty coffee and tea did not take off; but it was a great idea to try! The funny thing was, I never in the begining expected to like this place so much.

30$ and no bbq sauce …. Gtf outta here, Arby’s has better food for less money. Only reason for 2 stars was the fries. First and last time buddy

I would not even give it 1 star. The day bartenders Dont even know whats in a drink. The night bartender took my order made it wrong then got mad when I corrected him. He over charged me.

We visited with friends for Wednesday steak night yesterday, and it was simply awesome! Great atmosphere and the best steak Ive had in a long time! Bartender David was fantastic! will be back!!

The two bartenders who were working today for Sunday Funday around noon were fantastic! One was a African American girl and the other was an older male in maybe his 40’s. I think maybe both names started with an S. Wish I could remember, but their chemistry and interaction with each other along with the customers made our day and they both sold us into trying something we never would have ordered. They are great together, make great drinks, and you can tell they love their job. Your customer service rock’s and the staff is one of the best in Houston! Thank you for doing something different for a change our community!

I have not been out in years, however I did step out this past Sunday I had a blast!! I like the remodel, also Im very happy to see the new hire Isaac , he is an excellent bartender!!!

Newer = place is better, but their beers are Always barely cool, more room temperature..... Earlier = waited for reopening, only to be forced to watch drag show reruns... Not worth the wait.

Best gay bar in Houston, hands down! Everything from the staff, the space, the events, the restrooms, and the management are absolutely world class. The crowds here tend to be very diverse and mixed. My partner and I feel welcome every time we visit! The owner, Christopher Barry, is a constant presence, checking in on guests to see how their experience is going, engaging them in friendly conversation, showing how much he appreciates their business. No back office management here! Highly recommend!

Friendly bar staff and clients. Got a bit too loud around 7:30 when the evening crowd came in, so we left. $3 wells are a great bonus.

Nice place to get together with friends, but drinks in small plastic cups and are $5.

A friendly neighborhood bar with a great staff. The owner, Christopher Barry, continues to put his heart and soul into turning this place into one of Houstons premiere bars. The Karaoke night is a lot of fun. Steak night is a nice deal on Wednesday evenings. Great DJs keep the music going. Give Buddys a try.

Steak night was fantastic! Marion, the bartender, was friendly and makes the best Bloody Marys in town! I cannot recommend this place enough! Should be voted Best Gay Bar in Houston for 2020. Cleanest, friendliest bar that I have ever visited. Great drink prices. #1 in my opinion! Dont miss it!

Buddys, is the new Friendly Bar in Montrose. Some of many things to mention are: Experienced Bartenders, with excellent customer service, a good variety of beers, and delicious mix drinks. An spacious patio, a dancefloor, and good music to enjoy a great time with friends.

Awesome place, great drinks (great ginger beer on tap!and friendly & attentive bartenders. My new go-to in Montrose.

Finally had a chance to check out BUDDY’S ! On Saturday night for the soft opening ! And I had a blast ! It was my first and final stop, usually roam to other bars nearby but the atmosphere and the drinks were on point, I just had to stay! The DJ was killing it and it was an overall great experience ! Great pricing on drinks and wonderful staff with nothing but good vibes ! Definitely will be my new regular bar to visit in Montrose ! Would definitely recommend and bring my friends 😃👍🏽👍🏽

New place came wi try friends got a simple vodka and cran and had it re made 2 times just wasn’t good at all needs to mix better or something the service was excellent tho! The drink prices are supper good but drink was not made good at all so that’s why I’m leaving this 1 star sorry! But....

Its a fun atmosphere with friendly people. Its the type of bar where everyone knows your name. The drinks are fairly priced. 😘 So bring a buddy.

Recently opened! Delightfully decorated with a modern look and inviting feel without being overly pretentious. Big open spaces and a gorgeous windows overlooking the patio. The bar area is large and well designed for large crowds and/or parties. Super friendly smiling faces serving up your favorite cocktails! The name says it all! A place to meet your Buddy’s!

Great space and fantastic atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and go the extra mile for customers. Big dance floor and the bathrooms are gorgeous--a rarity in gay bars. The patio is spacious and covered. You can even talk without having to scream at each other. It will be one of my first stops when Im in Houston from now on.

Auston Labare is crazy the drinks here are amazing! I got a gin & tonic, a cherry vodka sour and a whiskey sour and they were all great!!!!! Keep up the amazing work Buddy’s. I can’t wait to see so much more fun nights here 🤩🤩🤩

Place was amazing. I love the new look of it really feels like the only modern looking and vibe type of bar. Love that it’s open concept to its patio, makes the place feel bigger. Drinks were amazing and the bartenders know how to make those drinks. Friendly staff as well. They talked to me and my friends and even gave us the tea to what’s to come to the bar and the events coming. Great place

Had an excellent time with friends at Buddy’s this week. Heard the location from a friend of mine and got the chance to check it out. Bartenders were quick to serve me and all were very friendly. They all seemed to enjoy what they did and it showed in their speedy and efficient service. Loved the design of the bar. Had a open concept that allowed to be served on the patio or inside. Good drinks and fun atmosphere. Going to for sure add this as a go to stop.

Very nice place and recommended, bartenders are friendly, it also has a nice patio, and it was really nice that the owner was there having conversation with people there.. it’s definitely a destination for me from now on and i am telling all my friends about it .. good luck 😘
