Bucovina Museum - Museum in Dorohoi, Romania
OK
Very little information in English. Many items have little information in any language, and there’s a lot of “filler” items. This is, at best, a typical regional museum, even with a price of about 2.50€ it’s not worth it unless you really like that sort of museum.
Beautiful, modern museum with very cool expositions. I loved it!
One of the most beautiful museums in Romania.
Superb
One of the best experience I ever had. Each room was dedicated to a different time period. Sounds were motion activated. Even the smell for each room is specific for that time period for a greater emersion. Superb.
Great overview of the history of this troubled part of the world.
Must visit
A nice place to visit. An interesting collections, good atmosphere
Super
Superb
Modetn museum. Comprehensive display of areas artifacts
Another piece of history. The museum its recntly renovated and houses 27 rooms full of history ! I hogly recomand !
This is one of the best museums in Romania. Not only is it new and comparable in curation to top notch places abroad, but the artefacts dating thousands years back or the patrimony of old books by themselves are worth the visitEverything is translated to English and the museum is organized chronologically starting with the Cucuteni culture and even earlier than that moving through a series of 27 rooms through Antiquity, the Middle Ages, Modernity and up to the Communist era and beyond. Sone of the history is a bit sketchy with some rooms being very small, but you definitely get an impressively clear and coherent idea of the history of Bucovina.Archeology buffs will simply love it
Amazing! Recomend to everyone. Rich in history and beautiful.
Passionate people working here, really valuable colle tions.
Nice
Really good museum to get insight about Bocovinas history
Great exhibition about communism period! Wax scenography about Steven the Great!
The museum got a real facelift. Its clean, you can get all info you need. A nice experience for the whole familly. Its quite cheap - 5 euros for a 4 persons familly -. Take the chance and visit it.
Awesome! Havent been here for more than 20 years. They did renovations all over. Id say its at European standards. Very clean, well organized and so admirable that they organize new termporary exhibitions from time to time and you can also see the advertisements about them around town.Only had time to visit the Tibetan Art exhibition, but already planning on the next tour for the Hunting weapons exhibition and of course the permanent exhibition they always have.Looking forward to the next visit 😁
Modern museum, a lot of amazing things to see. Just 4 stars because interactive pad for help is not working properly.
Big, but not easy to find. Has a nice overview collection about the history of the region. English audio guide available, friendly staff.
Great experience, I loved the exhibition s, the museum has been renovated.
Outstanding experience! Its a must see in Suceava!!
Very modern and well planned historical place
A nice museum with a modern exhibition.
Calm and cozy environment inside the museum. You can easily understand the history of Bukovina
Visited in winter when was everything snowy, looked like from fairytale. Do not miss interior of wooden church if you visit.
Very nice journey through the history of the world as seen through the eyes of the locals.
The chronological disposition of Bucovinian history is very intersting and rich of elements.
Must be visited.New way to see history
Renovated, with many historical things to see.
The restoration of the museum was very awesome to see and compare with the old one. They have English explaining the objects which is very nice.
Muzeul Bucovinei is very modern museum. The curators are very knowledgeable and very helpful. Amazing place!
Ok, a place where you can a lot of history very well presented.
A museum for the 21st century, beautifully designed and structured. A must-see for anyone who is interested in the history of Bukovina. While the pride of the museum is the collection of ancient and medieval artifacts, many guests will feel drawn to the exhibits from the more recent past - notably the Communist era.
Great place! A lot of history and great stuff!
A very nice exposition
Interesting museum about the history of Bucovina! It has some great objects. Through 27 (i think, it could be more or fewerrooms you travel through the years.
Lovely staff, lovely wardrobe and expo
Amazing, interactive, educational!
5 stars arent even enough to rate this place. The museum is throughly transformed, changed and improved and it can rival any of the famous worldwide museums. There is a great sense of detail in every room you are walking through. Fantastic source of education for younger generations and also a source of emotions for those who experienced the years of communism.Congratulations to the whole team at the museum and to everyone who contributed to the reconstruction of this marvellous landmark.
Awesome
Very impressed by this museum considering its in a smaller regional city. The exhibits are very modernised and some of the displaysare very creatively designed. Maybe the "treasures" section in the basement is not that impressive since its just remains of coins and relics found in local sites.
Extraordinary things to see, arranged in a modern way, full of symbols and history.
Really awesome! I was impressed by the various exhibition rooms that are arranged in chronological order and nicely decorated. The museum elegantly combines old objects and modern technology creating a unique immersing experience. A must see if you want to get a glimpse of Bukovinas heritage and beauty.
You cannot go to Suceava and not visit this museum :)
I was really impressed with this museum. Everything is brand new and what they have to offer there can get you back into the past a few thousands years in history of those places.Congratulations to the staff there and those involved in the restoration of this museum!!!Perfect day in Suceava.I would suggest to visit also the Fortress and the Old Bucovinean Village.
Recently improved, this museum features impressive and important pieces for the history of the region, from primitive tools and jewlery to medieval technology, documents or clothing, to communism and contemporary history. Takes about 3 hours for a detailed look. Entrance is 15 RON with a discount for students, youth and elders.
