Hip, upscale-casual cafe with imaginative global fare & a lively bar in a tile-roofed storefront.
We couldnt have picked a better restaurant for our first night at West Palm Beach! We ordered tapas style and everything was delicious with a unique twist, including our favorite – duck confit with a vegetable pancake. Our waiter was very helpful with his recommendations (dont sleep on the hot dog paniniand the service was impeccable along with a beautifully dark interior. This place is packed to the gills with beautiful people and make sure to grab reservations, as this place fills up fast.Valet is complimentary.
Everything is good in this restaurantGood job Matias
Celebrated my birthday and couldn’t have been happier with the restaurant, food and staff. Fransisco was a delight. You can tell he loves people and his job. As soon as he came to the table he started smiling and discussing the delicious dishes they offer. Fransisco is so happy and upbeat-he certainly is a shining star for Buccan. The selection of dishes is unique and hard to choose between. We decided to start with the steak tartare (deliciousand then moved to the ceviche-again, delicious. The next dish-the standout-corn stuffed pasta. Oh my-was not what I was expecting. I can’t express the delight my mouth experienced. We split the chicken as the main/large plate. The chicken was pan sautéed and the seasoning was seared into the skin-mouthwatering. For dessert we had the key lime tart-this wasn’t too tart nor too sweet-and a French press local Florida coffee. Delicious!
What an incredible experience eating at Buccan. Just love the taste and variety. The tapa style serving where you get to order bunch of dishes and share the food.We had almost everything on the menu. But I love their mushroom bao (the soft bun with mushroom pattie). I had two!Their falafel was good too.Cookies were yum and of course the creme brulee was love.
I cannot even begin to explain how much of an amazing dining experience my family and I had at Buccan. From start to finish the level of hospitality and execution was on point. Wonderful interior and scenery. Just an all around great upbeat vibe inside. We tried almost everything on the menu. From old faithful dishes that never disappoint like the steak tartar, to the ceviche with a nice twist including the sweet potatoes, to the burrata and tomatoe gelee , to the Hamachi or the duck everything was flavorful and balanced. Homemade pasta dishes are a must as well. The agnolotti was out of this world. Dessert dishes were well executed and playful takes on familiar flavor combinations. Wine list is extensive and well priced. Complementary valet on the way in. If I lived closer this would be my once a week spot.
Buccan was most definitely the best restaurant I’ve tried in a very long time. Oriana’s service was so amazing that I went back the next day with friends, and they were delighted. Delicious food, excellent music and the staff is simply outstanding. Can’t wait to go back!
By far my favorite restaurant in the palm beach area. Amazing food, attentive staff and a must see place on the island.
Absolutely love this spot! Started with the short rib empanadas and mushroom gyoza. Then had the corn raviolis and they were also phenomenal. Finished off the meal with smores. Can’t wait to come back!
Excellent service and the food was fantastic. Perfect place to dine with friends and family.
As they are closed for lunch I dont come as often as I would like to. The food I had yesterday for dinner was some of the best I tried on the Island. Thanks for good service as well. $40 corkage fee for 1/2 bottle of wine is ridiculous 🙄 minus 1 star for that stunt.
Best restaurant on the island. Ambiance, service, and food is exceptional. Rotating menu is even more of an excuse to dine here very often!!
As always, Buccan is a pleasure. This time I visited with my wife. Reservation ahead of time gave us immediate seating on a Sunday at 5:30pm. We brought our four month old daughter, and the staff were very accommodating, although we really did not need any help. The drinks were great, the food was superb, and the service was wonderful. We had Brandon as a waiter, and he was polite, timely, helpful, and knowledgeable. The bussers cleared the table timely, we never had an empty glass the entire time. The food came at well-timed intervals and every bite was delicious. My only problem is that Buccan is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. If it was a little cheaper (e.g. an Old Fashioned for 12 instead of 18 dollars), I would certainly visit more often.I would recommend this restaurant to anyone with the budget to visit. Always a pleasure. We will see you again.
Always fantastic. Never disappoints. Steak tartare, squid ink orecchiette, and duck leg are some of my favorites.
The wait staff was very good and the drink that I had was good as well. The food was tasty. The portions are very small. We dropped well over $100 to have two desserts, two drinks and one entrée. Although the food was good, it wasn’t good enough for me to go back.
Besides the confusion about having a table ready for us or not. The experience was superb. Every bite created a wow moment. The atmosphere is fantastic, and service very attentive. A must if youre in Palm Beach.
Dear Chef Clay, thank you deeply for a transcending dinner experience. During the whole dinner, I was thinking about you and specifically about ‘I really wish Clay can see everyone’s face after they have this first bite of this dish’ and ‘I really wish Clay can witness how special he makes each of us feel and how the wait staff was so considerate’ and ‘wow, I have been to many fancy restaurants In my life and Buccan is the first one that actually pay attention to the color of clothes we are wearing and change our napkin color!! So I don’t feel self-conscious for the entire dinner that I have white lint on my dark green dress!!! Why hasn’t any restaurant done that?!Thank you deeply for having vegan dishes on the menu to accommodate vegan guests like me.Special thanks to Vanessa our waitress, Vincent the bartender, Andy the restaurant manager, and Flip (probably also a managerfor pampering us and treating us like we are rich or famous or powerful people!
great food and always a busy vibe. Tends to attract younger folks from West Palm and tourists. The owners are fantastic people and do a lot of great work for charity. Overall, a great restaurant.
My guest and I came in tonight to treat my mom for her birthday... None of was were necessarily impressed by the server but I’ve been here many times. The food is great but the service can make or break an experience.I understand high volume environments and work spaces, it’s not an easy fret. Some of the other servers seemed a lot more attentive vs. the service I was getting.I came to truly treat my mom and some of the comments during the service was distasteful and lacked etiquette.Knowing how to read your table is key.The server tonight lacked this simple skill.Out of 8 dishes we ordered, not a single one contained red meat or chicken. The night ended with a dessert for my mom (she’s diabeticand we needed something on the low sugar side. It worked out well and then we ordered more dessert for the table.Towards the end when the check was being dropped off, one of my guest mentioned that they thought there was bacon in the “Elvis” dish.I then asked the server and he wasn’t 100% sure yet he “sold us” on this dish.He had to check the menu and let me know.I have been a pescatarian for over 15 years, I do not eat red or chicken, thankfully it isn’t for strict religious purposes, more for dietary reasons. Not once was I asked about allergies at my table nor was I asked about dietary preferences. I did, however, over hear this same server ask the table next to us for allergies but was not asked the same. This is usually something I’ve been asked when I’ve dined here or locally in west palm beach. When brought to the servers attention, he proceeded to play it off as if it was a joke. When I brought it up, he did not take it seriously at all and never once did he pass by after dropping the bill.I still left a more than generous tip but was absolutely disappointed with how this was handled at the end of the day.Red meat is a major no in my life as it has an effect on my GI tract and I mentioned this during the time I was ordering appetizers for my table. The fact that it was offered, upsold and brought to my table was disappointing. Not the best way to finish out an evening with my mom and our guest.
Absolutely phenomenal! Rarely do I leave a good review, but this place definitely deserves one. It takes a lot to impress me. From service to food and drinks, Buccan exceeded my expectations. It is one of my favorite restaurants. Pricing is more than fair. If in Palm Beach, this restaurant should at the top of your list. Try the empanadas and spicy pork tacos. Both are staples.
Delicious food and impeccable service!!
We couldnt have picked a better restaurant for our last night at West Palm Beach! We ordered tapas style and everything was delicious with a unique twist, including our favorite – crispy duck leg. Our waiter was very helpful with his recommendations and the service was impeccable along with a beautifully lit interior. We hope to be back next time we are in town!
Went for my birthday and the food was amazing, the service is top notch and the menu is so creative. The pasta with sweet corn, bacon and ricotta is a must!
The absolute best restaurant I’ve ever been to! The food and service is impeccable. Definitely a must when in the area!
Fresh seafood, strong drinks, delicious desert, & friendly waitstaff. This is a yea for me- lively atmosphere
In a town with some great restaurants this place is the best. The variety of dishes that all nail it will make your head spin. Tasty and with so many different flavor profiles. I try to go with large groups so I can order as many different dishes as possible.
The food is delectable. Giving you a variety of unique dishes, ranging from all forms of cultural influence. Ive gone to therapy to keep me from ordering the entire menu everytime Im there. Wine selection is top notch, cocktails were crafted by true artists. Its the gem of palm beach. If you havent been, youre missing out on one of the great pillars that is casual, yet luxurious dining.
Absolute pleasure visiting this establishment. Steak tartare pair with Ricotta Cavatelli.
When I think about the perfect dining experience, I can’t help by think about my experience at Buccan. Everything we ordered was incredible, the vibe was lovely, and the service was incredible. The lobster spring rolls are a new add to the menu and they were incredible. This meal was one of the best meals I have ever had and I HIGHLY recommend dining here if you are in Palm Beach. It’s a must!
Very high end and extremely busy even on a Wednesday night. You will definitely want to have a reservation if you plan to dine here. Low lighting really sets the mood. I would highly recommend the tuna, octopus, Pilsner from the Czech republic, spicy tacos, and empanadas. The burger and fries seemed very popular as well as we saw many people get that
First time dining here and it was an exceptional experience. Food was absolutely lights out. Top notch service from Peter V made the dining experience great. Buccan is a Palm Beach County must.
Ok, so today was my first Buccan experience. I went to the sandwich shop. I will admit I was “hangry” but it didn’t help to wait 40 minutes for an uncooked sandwich. I do feel like there has to be a way to execute this better. I was thinking what a horrible experience this was and then… I took a bite of my beef carpaccio sandwich. All was instantly forgiven! That is the BEST sandwich I have EVER had. Kudos to you! Thank you! Next time I will order online. Also, I am now looking forward to dining in your restaurant!
Service was thorough and attentive. The empanadas are good and My duck confit was delightful and creative, playing off chicken and waffles but with crispy duck and pancakes instead. The octopus dish had a nice char and still juicy. The white truffle pasta was a home run. The texture of the truffle melted in my mouth, aromatic, and flavorful. Their layered banana desert was not too sweet and very tasty and I shouldve ordered another one. The smores desert is rich and decadent.
Gotta give my two cents. Was able to get a last minute reservation. The customer service is great. The food was excellent. Small plates are decent portions but can be filling so make room! Cant wait to go back. It was such an experience and great for all occasions and groups.
It’s a 3.5 star experience. Bit of a mixed bag but would try it again to see. Had high expectations and went for a friends birthday dinner. Started off good at high table by the bar with cocktails and apps. Our waiter Mack was spectacular- knowledgeable and proper. Then we were show to our dinner table, that’s when it all went downhill. The main room acoustics are so bad that none hears anyone - so we were sitting surrounded by people screaming trying to talk to each other with food flying off their mouths. What a scene! We asked to be moved and got a high top. We settled down, chairs were a mess sinking, tried not to fall in. Our new waiter looked very displeased from the moment we arrived. After we ordered a bottle of wine some lates and a cocktail, he disappeared. None came around to ask if we wanted more food, we poured our own wine. Since this was a birthday dinner, which we had mentioned days before arriving when we made the reservation. None seem to recall it and when we mentioned it to our new waiter he looked confused and offended. Never had such an odd experience before, the friend talking to him is the kindest gentlest person and brought it up as reminder. He went away in a huff, came back with some desert and candle, threw down the plates and left. We made the best of it but the whole experience became an awkward thing. Wouldn’t have expected it out of such highly praised establishment. Cocktails were good, the bottle of wine we poured for each other was great. Best spot at the place is the bar or the height tables by the bar! I wouldn’t sit anywhere else. Go and have a ball - and if you want decent service and someone to pour your drinks and wine ask for Mack (he knows what gracious service and hospitality is!
Had a wonderful dinner with my wife. We shared 4 tapas, a large plate, and dessert to make sure we got to enjoy as much as possible. The steak tartar and the short rib empanadas were our favorites, but you cant go wrong with any menu item. The servers were friendly, attentive, and the food came out quickly. Looking forward to returning.
We just finished eating here for my birthday. We’ve heard so many great things from friends who swore that this was the best place. Curious, we decided to check out this hotspot and see what the hype is all about. Needless to say, it was a total culinary experience and we loved every minute of it. Everything we ate was superb and the service was exceptional. We started off with the tuna crisps. The tuna was fresh and the wonton crisps mixed with the soy sauce, spicy Mayo was perfect with a nice crunch. The steak tartare was perfectly seasoned and had a yolk that gave the the overall dish a nice texture. Add shaved truffle and paired with grilled bread and it was spectacular. One of my favorite things. The short rib empanadas were highly recommended by many and they were delicious. Plenty of meat inside and with the aji and salsa it blended well and the same goes for the spicy pork taco. They were so juicy and you can tell the meat was marinated for a long time. Biting into the taco, the juices exploded in my mouth and even dropped on my plate. I’m not exaggerating. All of that being said, the star of the show and the one dish that will forever be in my food hall of fame is the sweet corn agnolotti. That was one of the most incredible dishes I’ve ever had. They were purses filled with ricotta, and bacon on the inside. The perfect combination of flavors all in one bite. If you go to Buccan please try this dish. You won’t be disappointed! We ate fresh chocolate chip cookies which were also really good and made fresh to order.Overall, our experience was A+ and we will certainly be returning for an encore. For the ambiance, the level of service and the incredible food the price is very reasonable. Such an amazing way to spend my birthday.
Our experience was exquisite. From word etymology when we asked the origin of the restaurant name to cuisine expertise, our server was extremely attentive. He seemed to anticipate our food and drink needs without being overbearing or pushy (I believe his name was Tom). He made my husband and I feel we were his only guests. The outdoor seating was cozy and intimate and all of our food was superbly prepared and presented.
Had an amazing time with our group of four. Drinks were well balanced and booze forward which was a plus. Food was flavorful, appropriately portioned and overall the combination of both and the ambiance made for a wonderful evening catching up with friends. Would definitely recommend this when you are in PB.
Simply outstanding!!! Outrageous!I dined at Buccan upon the recommendation of a friend. I spent the afternoon shopping in Palm Beach, touring the island, then grabbed some dinner. To say I enjoyed it would be an understatement. The Florida Grouper Ceviche was outstanding! The flavors were perfect, just spicy enough, the fish was fresh, and the portion size was generous for a small plate. The Sweet Corn Agnolotti was simply the best thing I have tasted in ages - maybe ever! It was delicious! Sweet, savory, crunchy, delicate and fulfilling all at the same time. It was unforgettable! Do NOT miss this. The Seared Sea Scallops were delicious, and the sauce was unique. The Prime Beef Burger was very flavorful, cooked perfectly, on a brioche bun with tasty fries. It was worth the three week wait for a reservation. I will definitely, 100% positively, return!!
Delicious food, great atmosphere, not too noisy or fussy and beautiful lighting. All the things that make a great restaurant. Our server was fun and straight to the point. Service was fast, bordering on maybe a little too fast. Separate bar at the back so drinks never take too long. The pastas were fantastic as well as the baked oysters and the biscoff s’mores
What a great dining experience! (Meals rated 1-5We started off with the Tuna Crisps, (5then the Korean BBQ Brisket (4then onto the Short Rib Empanadas (4the Florida Grouper Slider (5+ not picturedour main course was the Seared Sea Scallops (3.5 finally the award winning chocolate chip cookies (4)The service here was great, our waitress was knowledgeable and witty. The environment is sexy and luxurious, but the wait staff has red Converse Chuck Tailors on which was a bit funny but a nice touch.Bathrooms were not working on this night which was a bit awkward given the type of restaurant this is and location.I would definitely recommend this restaurant And I would visit again.
We really enjoyed our experience at this place. Each and every dish that we ordered, including desserts absolutely hit the spot. They had placed their tables further apart from each other to accommodate social distancing. All the waitstaff had their masks on 100% of the time. Service and recommendations were fabulous.
Everything you would want from a dining experience and more. Food was delicious. Definitely recommend the Crispy Duck Leg.Every person on staff was warm and welcoming, if they made eye contact with you- they asked how your food was and if you were enjoying yourself. Good food gets you in the door, great service keeps you coming back!
Wow, what an incredible restaurant. We went twice on our one week vacation, it was so good. Reservations are tough, but an ample bar, high-top tables, and a communal table all on a first come, first serve basis make eating much more accessible. Everything great especially the high quality wait staff. All dishes were excellent, the true standouts were the broccolini, the fried chicken sandwich, and especially the hot dog panini (would have never thought). Also tried and excellent include the tuna crisps, short rib empanada, and snapper mochequecha. For dessert, the smores tart was outstanding, closely followed by the key lime tart.
I went here with my boyfriend for my birthday and the food is absolutely delicious. The small plate portion sizes are perfect, so you get to taste a little bit of everything! I definitely recommend this place for a date night, family get togethers or fun occasions.
Best ravioli I have ever had. If you like corn, you need to try this very special ravioli with sweet corn. The ice cream sandwich was also dreamy. Both mind blowing tastes. Photos below;
Wifes Co-worker recommended this place to try. Walked in and was immediately seated and given a warm greeting. Our server Matt was outstanding. Very knowledgeable on the menu and was very attentive.Judging by the atmosphere and service we thought that it might be one of those places thats really expensive and we would leave hungry or food that was too over the top but this wasnt the case. The food was amazing and just the right portions. The chefs in the kitchen are really a master at their craft and it was displayed beautifully in the dishes that came to our table.Immediately was blown away by the empanadas and tacos. Our main courses/dessert were to die for.We will be definitely back.
Nice layout, with a bar and lounging area up front, a communal table dividing the lounge area from the restaurant proper, and more high tops with a direct view of the prep area. Beef empanadas were amazing, shrimp scampi was good. My dates half portion of fusilli with lobster was so good she wouldnt even share. :(
Went here on Valentines night, it was packed as expected we couldnt even get a reservation, so we were given the option to eaither sit at a high top chair or sit at about of a smaller table, we opted to sit at the table; however our table had no tablecloth which we didn’t mind, it would have been nicer with one though. When our server got to the table he was quick to inform us about items on the menu and very helpful when we were deciding to order. He was always very prompt and attentive to not only us but his other tables as well. The food was the absolute pinnacle of fine dinning fantastic complex rich flavors in ever dish from start to finish. it was truly a culinary experience. If you are looking for fine dining is west palm go no further than Buccan.
so good. so good. so good!!! the empanada, the shrimp, lava cake/ice cream, and the squid ink pasta were all one of a kind!!!! so great! scott was the best waiter. will come back tomorrow
