Chain serving family-style Italian fare in a kitschy setting featuring red-&-white tablecloths.
My husband and I had breakfast here this morning and I want to say our waiter Jason was wonderful, however, the food was not. The food was served cold, did not have much flavor. My biggest issues was with the glasses of water my husband and I received. My glass was dirty and had 3 rings around of dirt around it, my husbands glass was smudged and had debrie on it. I made the waiter aware, he apologized and offered to get a supervisor. My husband and I wait about 20 minutes for a supervisor that NEVER SHOWED!! I rarely write reviews, but this service was unacceptable. Again, the waiter was fantastic, everything else was a disgrace.
Very great authentic fresh Italian food! Wonderful service! Jimmy was our waiter and he was super fast, funny and awesome! Great management!
Great food, staff, and atmosphere
They offered $5 unlimited mimosas and bloody marys but the liquor was locked up. Nobody had the key and couldnt bother the manager that was in a meeting. I recommend calling first before attempting to get morning happy hour specials.
Official website not updated. Went two days in a row and both times came to a closed restaurant, despite current hours claiming it was open. Signs visible with special meals, leads you to believe the restaurant is open. Ordinarily a great option to eat with daily specials and generous portions.
First of all let me preface this review by saying that people in italy would be horrified by what many americans call an italian restaurant, but rest assured, if your expectations are set right, you can actually enjoy a meal here. They have comfortable booths to sit back and unbuckle that belt to make room for the portions to arrive. Their wine list is pretty reasonably priced and we were able to order a solid italian red for just over $20. We shared the penne with cream sauce, sausage and chicken. The portion was enough to feed an army. There was plenty of sausage and chicken drenched in a very creamy savory sauce with penne cooked slightly al dente. We were not able to finish the portion between the two of us, and we eat a good amount. You will not leave hungry.
Service was AWFUL. There were maybe 15 tables in the whole place and at least 6 servers working on a Friday night. The food was just okay, nothing to rave about and nothing that made me say I want to come back! We couldn’t finish the manicotti or chicken limon, it was not appetizing at all. We were super disappointed!
Very disappointed with service and food. I waited in line to be seated. There was no host there. After waiting a few minutes for someone to come, I then walked to the cashier and decided to get carryout. She took my order and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. 25 minutes later, I came back and it still wasnt ready. Then the cashier who took my order said she had to finish, "checking out the staff" before she could get my food. It was now close to 10pm. After waiting another 10-15 minutes, I finally got my food. I was disappointed right off the back because they advertised that their fried mozzarella was $17.99 but that it fed 3. More like 1. I ordered a vegetarian fettucine custom made dish but there was shrimp inside!
I ordered coffee, orange juice, water with no lemon no straw. I was brought lemon water with a straw. so were immediately off to a bad start. for breakfast I ordered the Waffle Milanese. A poor interpretation of chicken and waffles. the chicken wasnt pounded thin to tenderize ot, this resulting in a tough end product with a sad crust that is described on the menu as crispy. Both of my poached eggs were overcooked with yolks partially set. There was barely any sausage gravy.Im pretty sure zero salt was used in the production of any components.Upon having to pay, we had to wait 5 minutes for the cashier to return from where ever she was, with no mention of an apology for making us wait.THANK GOODNESS we had a comped meal, because there is no way I would voluntarily pay for such a disappointing meal. Will not return, will not edit my rating or post.Choose anywhere else for breakfast.
First timer and thoroughly impressed. Portions were generous and delicious. My chicken saltimbocca was incredible and the lasagna was one of the best my wife ever had. And the desserts; OMG. The cheesecake slice was humongous and the dark chocolate cake was so rich and the portion generous. Have already purchased gift cards for future visits and for friends.
Restaurant was pretty much empty on a Saturday night at 8pm that should have been my first sign to turn around. The portions are family style so they are meant to be shared so this is not the place to go for 2 people especially if you both have different tastes in food. We ordered the fried calamari, the outside breading was very crispy however the calamari itself was very tough and chewy. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken parm. Three large pieces of chicken parm was definitely enough to feed the two of us except for the fact that it was inedible. It was very soggy and lacked any flavor. It didn’t even come with pasta so we ordered the mashed potatoes, again family style, enough mashed potatoes to feed at least 5. They weren’t bad they actually had some taste to it. I don’t think i will be returning here. Save yourself the trouble and drive 8 minutes to Borgata and go to one of their delicious restaurants
Although their customer service is very good I unfortunately cant say the same for their food. The quality is going down. Here are pictures from todays lunch. The salads were good and so was the sangria. But the chicken carbonara had more sauce than pasta along with deli looking ham in it. I was extremely disappointed with the spaghetti sauce and meatball. Sauce was sweet and not very warm but the meatball was very bland. This is my 2nd disappointing visit and now not sure if Im coming back. Hope this get looked at by someone of authority in the company so improvements can be made.
Very nice, good quality Italian food. The portions were large and they offer very nice lunch specials. I would recommend signing up for their rewards program because they send out coupons often. I would definitely recommend this location as opposed to the other restaurants in the casino.
HUGE PORTIONS! The spaghetti and meat ball special is enough for 4 people AND MADE WITH HIGH QUALITY INGREDIENTS! not over seasoned garbage like most Italian restaurants. Antonios, our server was delightful. Love love love!
Love the place for breakfast the waiter is always Jason and he already knows how we like our eggs. Next time I will take a picture. I really recommend Bucca in Atlantic City next time you have breakfast there.
We ate at Bucas at Ballys casino in AC and it was great!! So good we went there for breakfast too, I didnt even know they had breakfast, and it was amazing!! The server Brian was top notch and the food was fantastic, were thinking about going back to Atlantic City just so we can have breakfast there again.
Really bad all around. Not sure how people are rating it 4+ stars. Horrible food. The service even worse. The waiter just put the main plate on top of the bread plate. I ordered, Peroni draft, the waiter brought a bottle, and then came back, very clearly just pouring the bottle into the glass. The chicken Milanese was rubbery. The shrimp Florentine was raw and undercooked. Do not recommend at all.
This place serves family style!!! A great place for the whole family to eat!!! Located in Ballys
Delicious food and great service. Friendly employees and what desserts. Cant wait to return
The seafood platter is awesome.Chicken marsala is awesome.Meatball is very good.Portions are big.I recommend
Jim was one of the best servers I’ve had in my life. Everytime he passed our table he made us laugh and you can tell he genuinely loves his job. The food was a bit pricy but delicious. Would recommend anyone
The food is good. However,I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The service is poor. The waiter makes an error in placing an order. Be careful, they overcharged you. We ordered a special 37$ for one to share but the waiter brought us food , and then receipt for 2 speacials .
Enjoyed the family style dining, food was great and reasonably priced. A little disappointed with the service especially because they werent that busy. Would definitely go again.
I hate leaving bad reviews but the time I visited this restaurant, I had a bad experience. It first started with our service being poor- the server never came to our table and when the servers did, there were three different people taking our orders. We didnt know who our server was and a new person kept being introduced.Secondly, after the food was ordered, it took over 45 min for the food to come out. I came with a party of 8 and each of our orders were taken wrong so we received them not as wanted. However, the manager was very understanding and felt sorry so he did help us with our bill but it was a shame to leave a restaurant like Buca Di Beppo hungry.
This place is great! I almost didnt want to go here due to the not-so-favorable Yelp reviews, but Im glad we did! The atmosphere was quiet, with a warmth like a family atmosphere. Willie was an amazing, attentive, and kind server. He made my family and I feel at home right away. If you want some good Italian food (I recommend the baked zitiand a calm place after walking through Ballys casino in Atlantic City, this is the place for you!
Absolutely delicious food! Highly recommend for breakfast!
The chicken in my entree was kind of a weird texture so I picked it out. Kids had a big sundae they loved. Food was mediocre.
First time going and heard mixed reviews. Ordered make your own pasta with artichokes and spinach and meatball on the side. Received spaghetti and meatballs and just accepted the error and ate it rather then send it back. But the ultimate “Probably would not go back” moment, we asked to wrap our leftovers and the waiter threw out our remaining meatballs and gave us the rest of pasta and bill with correct order on it charged. Nope your done with us.
Fried shrimp parmesan was awesome. Chef Ragu and the wait staff were perfect. Melt in your mouth. Had to force myself to stop eating. Highly recommend it.
It was a little slow getting seated. It wasnt busy at all and there was no host/hostess. Steve, my server, made up for it! The food was delish and the Italian cream cake was so good. Yummy!
Was there on Christmas day. First, their wine selection of popular favorites are great. Its family style and we ordered from their cook your way menu and ended up with a delicious red, green and white Christmas pasta meal. We ate every bite. Yummy. Would definitely go again.
I am a regular in Atlantic City. Id come here quite often. As a result, I will not overreact to one very poor experience. I am allergic to Olive so lets get that out of the way. I explained that to the waiter while ordering, and was quite dismayed that there were many olives in our antipasto salad despite the request to have them on the side so that my guests would not have to do without olives as a result of my allergy. Unfortunately, I had an olive in my mouth and had to spit it out promptly. Fortunately, I did not have any reaction to it. The waiter acknowledged the mistake and was apologetic. This restaurant really needs to be more careful and train their staff more appropriately about food allergy management. That being said, the food is usually quite good and I will come back, though I can assure you antipasto salad will not be ordered by any party I am in.
Buca was good, same as it is in Pittsburgh. I like the consistency when you get a large group you need to serve. The family style service makes it great to share.
The fact you have to hear the Casino announcements is a downfall. But its in a Casino, so what can you do. The food was all my pre marathon meal. It was all fantastic, and I cant recommend the Bucheta enough. Cheese case was so so, but was in a mega chunk that will get plenty of envious stares. The pasta itself was great, all the breads are wonderful.
O M G! Delicious!! Friendly atmosphere, staff was excellent! Ask for Gloria! She was awesome! A must try is the Italian Creme cake!! Its to die for!! Cant wait to go back!! We were there for lunch. Portions were perfect. Ive heard dinner is Family Style so portions are probably a lot larger. Cant wait for leftovers!
Food is delicious, but service was slow. There seemed to be a lot of chaos trying to seat tables even though they had an almost completely empty 2nd dining room. Sat us at a small table that did not have enough room to put a family style entre and a side on. Waited almost 15 minutes with empty dishes and wine glasses for someone to see if we needed a to go box and check. Would go back but only because I love the food.
Service was absolutely horrible! We weren’t greeted for about 10-15 min . Calamari was $18 and we literally got 18 pieces of calamari. Food was definitely pre cooked . Our server Ali didn’t even check on us 1 time. The host was cleaning all his tables and asked him why he wasn’t. He replied that’s not his damn job and he didn’t even care about any of his tables ! Will never return
I visited Bucas for the first time tonight. The pasta dish we ordered was very yummy. The portion was plenty for the two of us. Unfortunately, our service was terrible. The server (I do believe his name was Ali if I read the receipt correct did not want to be there. We sat for at least ten minutes waiting to be greeted. Many people walked by but did not stop to ask if we had been helped. Once our server finally greeted us he did not explain why we had been sitting for so long nor did he apologize for the wait. (I understand things do happenHe took our drink, appetizer, and food order all at once. He dropped our food off and never came back to see if we needed anything or if we were enjoying the food. I ordered a water and primo margarita. Both were empty. He never asked if Id like a refill. The margarita was very tasty so a second round or third would have been nice. The host Vita was cleaning all of our servers tables. She asked him if he was going to help. He replied," It is not my job its yours." It takes a team effort to run a business. We frequent casinos. We have never had service this bad. Like I stated before, the food was good so it was very unfortunate that the service was so bad.
I went here for a late birthday dinner and I was surprised that they let us in due to the fact that I believe it was close to their closing time. The food was DELICIOUS and the serving portion was huge. My date and I shared the meal and still had enough for 2 to go plates (and no we did not eat lightly). For those trying to compare this place with Olive Garden , DONT. This is on a league of its own. While Olive Garden is delicious (LOVE OLIVE GARDEN SO I FEEL A LITTLE GUILTY ABOUT THIS REVIEW), this place just makes you feel like youre eating food in Italy. It feels and taste like a homemade Italian dish made with love. Similar to Olive Garden, the food is served with fresh bread; I dont remember if it came with salad. You dont have to come here all dressed up, you can if you want to. The staff were really nice (AND I MEAN EVERYONE! IT WAS UNREAL). Also a big factor, the place was clean and so was the kitchen. Granted I only saw a portion of it from where I was sitting, but none the less it was clean. To sum it all up:Pros: Delicious food, big portions, friendly staff, and clean environment all for a good price.Cons: NonePricing: For 2: around $45 depending what you order (that was with out drinks).Uncertainties: If you get saladExtra Pros: GET THE CANNOLIS (DELICIOUS& the staff sings Happy Birthday in the cutest way (It is definitely different)PLEASE REMEMBER TO TIP WELL IF YOU GO. HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOY!
The food is flavorful, but the cutlery and tables were not very clean. The server had to change my cutlery. Also the hostess is so slow at seating customers when half of the restaurant is empty.
Everything from the friendliness of the staff the second we walked in the restaurant to the wonderful atmosphere to the deliciousness of the food made this experience incredibly enjoyable. Surprisingly, for a place that you would think is best known for the pasta, they have the best Caesar salad I have ever tasted! I seriously recommend it. I was not expecting the ginormous portions of the family-size dishes. It was fun because I could share and taste my meal AND the food my acquaintances ordered (as we all underestimated the size of the food). I ended up with a lot fettuccine supremo left over because I ordered a small for myself, but I ate it cold the next day after because it was so good.
The food wasnt good nor was it hot. Our server was pleasant if not attentive. We were a group of 12 and we already picked what we were going to order before we got there so it would be easier on the server. Suggestion: the Buca Di Beppo that was in Cherry Hill used lazy-susans on their tables. It would be nice if you had that especially with a large group such as ours.
Delicious breakfast. We ate there 2 days for breakfast. Staff/amazing. We ate there 1 evening for dinner. We didnt realize it was family style and for the 2 of us it really wasnt cost effective for us. It was delicious but from now on when in town we will stick to breakfast. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Family style servings... so order a small plate for 3 or 4 people or you will be taking some home. Service was a bit slower than expected even though it was not crowded. Tasty dishes and for portions, reasonable prices. No single side salad, if salad is ordered, it will serve 4. Main dish arrives with no sides other than bread. Each side must be ordered and it will 3 to 4 people. Only single serve item is whatever you want to drink. Overall, a good time with good food.
Great food and huge portions!!!! The bread and butter are awesome. We had the pasta with spinach and shrimp.in a very light butter/EVO sauce that was perfect. We love coming here when we are in AC! The meatballs are on the list for next time because they looked amazing when they were going by!!!!!KEREZSI REAL ESTATE "Your Property, Our Priority"#KeeepingUpWithTheKerezsis
A spectacular meal. One of the best salads that I have ever had. We ordered a small pasta to split between three for the entree. However, that was even way too much! We didnt even clear half the dish. Nonetheless, it was a delicious meal yet just a bit too much.
Food was okay. Energy was horrible. My group of 4 waited for a booth for over 15 minutes while the plates just sat there and the entire restaraunt was half empty. The hostess did nothing to speed up the process and gave us an attitude when we asked how long the wait would be. Then, the bus boy came to the table and told us he couldnt get us bottled water and gave us an attitude, but was able to bring soda. Made no sense. Then, the waiter took forever to come and when we ordered he shouted out that we were getting a cake for my birthday which my boyfriend was trying to hide. Then, the food took forty minutes to come out!!! When we finished our food, we waited another 20 minutes for food to be taken and we had to ask for someone to come and then another 20 minutes to wait for the check which we had to call more than one waitor for. The waiter had no regard and did not notice how horrible his service was. Never again!!! We left very annoyed and sat there two hours!!!!! Never in my life!
Not the best at all. The hubby and I ordered for take out. The cashier had an attitude already. When we received our food back in the room thereservation was no pasta at all. Called back and said well did you order over the phone or in person and if I had a menu in my hand. I said yes, she says well I hope you noticed when you were reading the menu that the food comes as is and there is no pasta. As first time guest or evening ordering at all it should be mentioned that pasta isnt served with the dish at all. I explained that to the lady on the phone and she said oh well, if you would like to order the pasta you will have to order it now, and come and pick it up right away cause me close in 2 minutes. VERY RUDE. The way Ballys advertise this place, seems like the food and service was best, when it wasnt even close. The food was way beyond cold and no taste what so ever. Never will I come back to this place. This place doesnt even deserve 1 star its full of nonsense.
LOVED THIS PLACE! Went for a friends birthday and was not expecting much. Food was great! Its family style, so dont panic at the prices. If anything, youll be eating from it for about a week. The service was wonderful! The entire staff was incredibly kind and put up with our party of about 10. Its right across from Guy Fieris restaurant, so if you dont want to wait an a ridiculous line, you have options!
Family style. Really Loud music. Clean. Waiter was more interested in this lady that sat by herself he ignored other tables. Chicken parm was $30 for a small. Seriously thin chicken. May have been 1 chicken breast cut into 3 peices pounded out. It was good but expensive!! Speggetti was just thick and tasteless. As we left we heard a group talking about how its never busy there because no once comes back twice. Even though the chicken was good we will not be back anytime soon.
