Intimate cafe with large windows & armchairs, serving European fare & traditional English breakfast.
Bubbles in Zürich (Kreis 3)
Description
Average is an overstatement. This place has nothing that gets even close to a proper brunch. Omelettes are below average, meat super salty. Don’t recommend it
MoreI love this place!!! Definitely one of my favorite places to brunch in Zurich. Great value for your money; the food is tasty and the service is amazing 🤩!
MoreGreat service, nice food and a good price- a winning combination
Amazing breakfast, service and price! The English breakfast is best in Switzerland!
MoreVery friendly staff .. cozy settingdisappointingly my food was really mediocreordered full English Breakfast mehOJ was tasty though.
MoreVery friendly staff. Very obliging for English speaking tourists and had all the options we were looking for with our dietary requirements. A lovely experience all round.
MoreDelicious, but high prices.. and charged us 4.40 chf too much for a juice we never got 😅
MoreThis is one of best english breakfast i have had .. staff are amazing.. I recommend any fellow English to try this place out .. the english breakfast are just as good as our home ;)
MoreFull English was on point with hp sauce and a pg tips cuppa
First time here was great. I was promptly greeted and my COVID certificate checked. Sat down in the cosy dining area. I came for the cheesecake and was told they had a special pumpkin flavor (as pictured). I took one bite and it put a smile on my face immediately. A mix between cheesecake and pumpkin pie with the crunchy seeds on top is just lovely. Thank you! Will have to come back to try more flavors.Update! December 18, 2021. Tried the original cheesecake flavor and WOW! So so so yummy. Can’t wait to try more :)Update: We have moved from Zurich :( and we miss this place so much! Haven’t found any cheesecake near the level of bubbles deliciousness.
MoreVery relaxed place, if you have a bad day - the food and the owner will make you smile for sure. Brunch menu during weekends (with full English breakfast)
MoreCute Coffe shop with lovely staff. So smiley and welcoming that we felt like home. Food was delicious. We will definitely come back in our next visit in Zurich. Thank you for the experience!
MoreLOVED the food here! The owner came out and explained everything on the menu to us. Great mix of English and Swiss food, made with tons of love. The owner treated our huge group super well. Loved it!
MoreLow-key spot with friendly staff. The amaretto cheesecake was delicious, the uitsmijter was disappointing (bland and very simple)
MoreHad a hearty lunch at Bubbles. Place is packed on a Sunday with the usual brunch crowd. Bubbles serves a good selection for big breakfast eaters but also for those who just need enough to power the day. The Omelette Baena is a unique spicy twist to the usual omelette. Its packed with chorizo, chili, and aubergine, drizzled with some spicy sauce. It comes with slices of toast. Make sure you have a glass of water close by.
MoreTiptop Sunday brunch and very attentive and nice staff. Baby friendly place and amazing pancakes! What else?
MoreOk, not great. Asked for an omelette with not toast on side because of a severe allergy. Brought omelette with toast and told to "just move it to the side". Food ok, not seasoned, and no sauces offered. Quite an unpleasant smell inside.
MoreGreat cosy place in the heart of Zurich. Great food for brunch, English or Swiss style breakfast. Very recommended.
Morevery very friendly staff! brunch was amazing
There are not many options and the service is not so good. We ordered cafe macchiato but got some milk coffee in small glasses. The French toast portion was very small and lacked quality. The tomatoes in the Omelette with onion and tomato were raw.
MoreYummy selection for brunch. Owner/manager was great. Very friendly, spoke English and attentive. Far better service than you often get in Switzerland. Prices reasonable for Zürich.
MoreGreat food, lovely staff but extremely busy so the service was challenged! Go after 13.00 if you are in a rush....brunch was completely full, also book way in advance.
MoreWe have recently moved to Zurich and are on the lookout for good brunch options, and were pleased to discover Bubbles, a great cafe with friendly staff, which served a delicious brunch. We will definitely be back!
MoreI had a super delicious Breakfast omelette with a nice capuccino. They have blanket for cold weather.
MoreMy partner and I try to go for breakfast every sunday. Best scambled eggs Ive ever had in my life. Service is ALWAYS wonderful and the cheesecake is to die for!
MoreCozy place, with polite and good service. The salmon bangle was amazing.
I booked a table for brunch with 3 other friends.. the table was not ready but that was ok we waited patiently however when we sat down we expressed that we were cold and asked for the door to be closed. We were told by the waitress this would be done later, half hour later we asked again for the door to be closed and the waitress asked the manager; a woman called "Denise" who said it was not possible.. later half way through our food, the manager "Denise" asked me if I wanted a blanket to which I said politely that we had been there for over an hour and had to eat my food whilst cold which had been already very unpleasant, and this woman "Denise" literally went and slumped the door close and shouted "Now it is closed" I was very frightened and all the customers were shocked at her inappropriate, unprofessional and extremely rude behaviour. We left very disappointed. It was very obvious that the the rest of the staff members felt tension from their manager. The food was ok but not amazing but felt the manager "Denise" had really bad manners and no idea about good customer service. Also, understand all places need to ventilate all closed spaces due to Covid but this can be done with good communication, without the need to be rude and without customers having to sit for almost two hours feeling cold.Very Bad experience.. I would not recommend this place.
MoreFantastic brunch with an amazing selection on its menu. Friendly and warm staff, including the owner herself. The owner chatted with us and made us feel welcome. Great ambience, plus a nice breeze through the open windows. Would love to dine there again on our next trip to Zurich.
MoreCozy traditional Swiss breakfast cafe in Wiedikon Zurich. Attentive service, menu in English and German. Loved the Pirate Plate menu option at 0 CHF (see photo🙂
MoreGood place for brunch, reasonable prices but smallish portion sizes
Absolutely delicious. Reasonably prices too for Zürich. My omelette was huge but tasty
MoreThis is my fav cafe in Zürich! It took me a while to to find a cafe that isn’t overpriced, is open on a Sunday, isn’t crowded all the time, has a varied menu (with a brilliant British hot breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans!), with staff who are genuine and friendly. Selfishly don’t want to promote them too much as it might mean a busier cafe ;but jokes aside they really do deserve great success. Only cons are the decor is a little outdated but it’s not so important to me and perhaps keeps the annoying hipsters and their mobile phones away :P
MoreSuper cute cafe with very friendly staff and yummy food
Good breakfast and brunch options and decent prices. The place could use a renovation and also the menu could be slightly "modernized"
MoreNice place to eat English breakfast in Zurich. Warm staff too.
Honestly was not a big fan. The prices were cheap for Zurich and unfortunately it showed in the food. I got very white toast that was super boating. And everything else was just very bland. Won’t go back and won’t recommend. Not even good coffee.... I’m sorry. The cheesecake did look very good though. So I would maybe go back only to try that. Otherwise, never again.
MoreAccommodating to English speakers. Super friendly staff. The coffee was great. Tried the Uijsmiter and it was excellent.
MoreI’m so impressed by this place! It’s been ages since I met staff that was *this* friendly and helpful and nice and they made everything about my Sunday morning perfect. Great English speakers also. When it comes to the food, they have a good variety of extremely tasty meals (if you can eat medium spiced food, go for the Baena omlette!). Will definitely come back here and totally recommend it.
MoreGreat food and extremely friendly staff! We were made very welcome by the staff, and they surely made our Sunday morning! We came for brunch and we were surprised by the great selection of food, it’s exactly what you’d wish for! From bagels with any kind of desired topping to eggs under any form, their food is so great! Portions were large as well so come hungry!I highly recommend the Baena Omelette, which has Chorizo and pepperoni, and has the perfect amount of spicy so that you can enjoy eating it.Here I have also had my first sweet omelette! It’s entirely gluten free and it came with bananas and chocolate sauce, I was pleasantly surprised to try that.If you wanna go to probably the best brunch place in Zurich, make sure to visit this one!!
MoreGreat breakfast, and very friendly waitresses
Friendly staffs. Good food. Good coffee. A bit pricey but we’ve expected in Zurich.
MoreUnfortunately very long wait time. We asked after 40min and they responded not very friendly that if we give them 30 more seconds they will bring it. After another 5-10min they served it but forgot something which they only commented with „that‘s what happens if you stress the kitchen“. No apology at all. It‘s a pity as I liked the place in the past and food is fairly priced. Some waiters are also really friendly, but if they can‘t react well to a delay in the kitchen and blame it on the customer I guess it‘s not where I want to go on a Sunday again.
MoreWe have been here a couple of times and really enjoyed lunch before. Today we went for breakfast and it was disgusting. Way too much cheese on everything causing our plates to drip in grease. The waitress was nice, but when you get the news from the kitchen thats how its suppose to be, you know its time to not come back again. Especially when ordering the uitsmijter, a typical Dutch dish. I ordered it with bacon, which normally means the ham is replaced by crunchy baked bacon. This was not the case, the bacon was awful and the uitsmijter was covered in a thick layer of cheese. So I even paid extra. Overall a very bad experience. The waitress apologised, but clearly not in the name of the chef, who doesnt seem to realise that there is a table with 5 dutchies. When you dont finish your plate and provide this feedback, the absolute minimum a place can do, next to apologising, is offering a coffee on the house or a discount. That did not happen.Sorry, we liked your food and service and have been at your place multiple times, but with this poor quality and lack of customer focus, well bring our money somewhere else and will not recommend others to visit your restaurant. No more Bubbles for us.
MoreAbsolutely amazing place!! The full english breakfast is truly the best and the classic cheesecake as well (I havent tried the others, but Im sure they are also delicious :).The staff is super friendly and the hostess is super nice and cares thay the food they serve is the best quality possible.Very much recommend it!
MoreMy girlfriend got their cheesecake and she enjoyed it. It’s closer to American cheesecake, unlike German käsekuchen. As for breakfast, it was decent. I wouldn’t necessarily travel across town for it, but it’s close to many of the hotels near the train station.
MoreExtremely cozy and relaxing ambient, very nicely kept, and lovely food! Staff was also super friendly and fast
MoreWarning: the menu is in German and they dont have an English menu and the staff speaks limited English. But the food was delicious!A great brunch place with outdoor seating on a beautiful morning. The menu is seasonal. I went in October so in the pics are the house salad, pumpkin soup, pumpkin quiche (which was more pumpkin than egg), and a traditional German meat dish with traditional fixings.
MoreIncredibly disappointing omelette which was empty, bacon covered with burnt fat. Far below the level even of my modest culinary skills. Mediocre coffee. This earned them one solitary star.Beautifully complemented by a coughing, spluttering smoker to my right wafting smoke at me whilst I ate. Lovely.
MoreNot bad for brunch - the chorizo omelette was big and delicious, the BLT bagel too!
MoreGreat Brunch/Breakfast place. Really good fresh pressed Orange Juice and the Staff is so attentive and really friendly. A pleasure to sit outside but also really cosy inside. Food is fresh and affordable.
