The waterfall is very unique because of the hard water originated from spring water near the waterfall. This water property makes its water crystal clear and does not cause algae or slippery surface. The picnic area is available. You can also get some local meals and standard drinks there. The restrooms are clean and you need to take off your shoes and change to slippers for free before entering the restrooms. A bit of work to keep them clean.

A beautiful park with a super clear spring and a very unique waterfalls. You can walk around on the walkway and not get wet, but the main attraction is to go up, down or both in the waterfall. The water made a lot of the rocks very rough so you can stand in the flowing water and not slip.

Beautiful waterfalls. You can climb up or down inside the waterfall using ropes. Requires a reasonable level of climbing ability. There are toilets. It is recommended to bring a towel and clothes for change.

Really cool and different to your average waterfall, also its free to enter so I would recommend visiting, walk down the steps then up the waterfall using the ropes and stuff, quite a unique opportunity and all the waterfalls look really cool

There are a few waterfalls to check out around Thailand but this was one of our favourites due to the unique experiance of just walking on the waterwalls barefoot with almost no fear of slipping (be carefull on some spots that are covered with algie :))

Pretty cool waterfall to check out, its awesome to be able to walk up it. Not sure if it wouldve been worth the trek had we not have had a friend drive us in our car as its over an hour from chiang mai.. but nice enough to check out and if you bring some snacks its a nice little park to have a picnic at or something anyway !

This is a must see. I only spent an hour there because it was late in the day. Could have easily spent double that wondering around. Its such a weird experience. Most of it is very grippy but do take care as there is the odd slippery spot

This waterfall is amazing, there are 4 “floors” and you can actually climb up and down the whole waterfall since the limestone is not slippery at all.Very nice for a day activity when you’re staying in Chiang Mai !I recommend coming here before 12 to avoid the crowd.

Must do in Chiang mai. Was definitely one of our highlights. No entry fee which is lovely. We only spent a few hours here and booked a grab from town and paid him 1100 bhat to wait and take us home. Could bring a picnic and make a day of it. Just wear your swimwear and leave everything else in the car

We had a great time at the sticky waterfalls, a really great experience to walk up and down them. We were unaware of any private tours for this so we got a taxi to the waterfall which took about an hour from the city. However, there is no personnel at the park so when we wanted to leave we tried to get a taxi but no one would pick us up as it was too far out of the city. There is an tourist office but no one is there and no one seems to have any numbers for taxis. We were practically stranded and had to ask a random couple for a lift into the nearest town.

to be honest my friends did not think much of this place before visiting, it is after all just a waterfall, and there are plenty of those around. they were mistaken (i was not i was v excited to visit just felt the need to insert that fact). first impressions were already positive, like many nature reserves in chiang mai, the facilities are fantastically well maintained, the toilets, changing areas and park premises are pretty much spotless. but you dont come here for the toilets and facilities, no you come here for the waterfalls, and that us one unique experience. as most other reviews will point out you can quite literally walk uo the waterfalls because of the textured limestone that makes up the waterfalls. the route is easy to climb (watch out for a few slippery spots that will usually have algea growing thereand an incredibly enjoyable experience. it is as close to a natural water park as you are ever going to get, and for the amazing price of free! would recommend this to anyone visiting chiang mai, the best way to get here is honestly on scooter because the ride in through the forested road is scenic and pleasant.

This is a very unique limestone waterfall you can climb! It’s very easy to climb except towards the top it gets kind of slippery but they have ropes to help you. Bring mosquito spray! There is a small restaurant on site to grab some food after your hike :)

It is about an hour motorcycle ride from Chiang Mai. The entrance is free. You may find toilets and locker rooms there. There are 4 stages of waterfall. When you are on the waterfall, you are supposed to be barefoot. As long as you do not stand on rocks with green algae, your foot should have strong enough grip (stickyto walk around. I really enjoy the 1-2 hours there.

Climbing down all the stairs to the very bottom then climbing up the falls was such a fun way to get a workout in. We love waterfalls in general but this one was so unique. They had bathrooms and showers as well. We also walked over to see the cold spring.

Such an awesome afternoon in Chiang Mai! We hired a private driver (Chiang Mai Driving Tours on F Bto take us here and the bat cave temple. We loved the viewpoint and the falls were so beautiful, refreshing and surprisingly easy to climb. Highly recommend bringing a picnic lunch because there are so many places to just chill. We regret not doing so. Best of all NO park entrance fee!!

Great family fun for FREE to fill a morning or afternoon! It feels bizarre to be able to walk up a waterfall, but your feet really do stick. Recommend bringing a picnic. Otherwise there is a small kiosk where you can buy smoothies, snacks and a small selection of local dishes.

It’s not worth the hour drive from chiang mai. The bonus star is because it’s free entry, but the waterfall itself it’s so small and underwhelming and there’s about 200 tourists lingering around sat in the pools. There is a good view and it’s in nature which is good, but the overall experience was poor.

One of my favourite places I went too from Chiang Mai! Great fun to climb up the waterfalls, definitely would recommend as a day trip. When we went the nature trail was closed, but this didn’t really impact our day at all we still had plenty to do climbing up the waterfall!

This place is so damn cool! It took us ages to ride here on the scooter and most of it was a busy highway but it was definitely worth it. It’s so peaceful and in the jungle with loads of butterflies and wildlife. The falls are super cool too. You can totally walk up the whole thing with the help of a rope if you like, and it feels really safe too. Great way to cool off

Busy in high season quiet with locals only during low season. A long motorbike ride from Chiang Mai, Worth the trip but if your coming from Pai then see this on the way or way back. Feels like a dry porous sponge on your feet despite being wet so its very grippy except on crevasses that can grow mould so be careful. There are ropes to help. Bit out of the way but there are shops in high season. Toilets are a squat.

This is one of the few National Parks that has free entry. Its great fun to spend an hour or so walking up and down the falls here. There is a good area for picnics, and one of the two small restaurants has reopened post COVID. They had been checking vaccination status before entry, but no longer do. The government has made some improvements lately, including better steps down and some safety improvements for walking up the falls themselves.

Good to come early at around 11am to avoid the crowd. Entry is free, just need to write your name and contact at the rangers gantry. Heres my recommendations:1. Go barefoot and keep your shoewear in your car2. Bring a waterproof phone cover to take photos while climbing3. Look out for slippery spots while you climb, and be considerate to other climbers4. DO NOT inscribe your initials on the rocks5. Prepare a picnic and some bread to feed the fishes at the nearby pond6. Prepare some insect repellant7. There are toilets to wash up and change, and lockers too, but you need to bring your own lock and keyHave lots of fun and climb safe!

A very beautiful waterfalls where you can play in the water and even climb the limestone falls. There is a staircase to the bottom falls or you can climb up or down the falls. There is a nice grass park with some food stalls. There are also nice shower and restroom facilities. You can take a walk to the cold water spring that feeds the falls as well. A very nice and well kept park. And there is or at least was no fee for entry.

Worth the trip and a lot to do if you have enough time. Plenty of animals rummaging about just out of sight, thick in the dense vegetation. The falls were great, we took the steps down to the very bottom and climbed our way up while exploring each area. Bring a waterproof bag and a bite to eat, as depending on what you do you could spend hours here.. no need for shoes :)

Bua Tong waterfall is the reason to come to Srilanna national park again and again. Its incredibly picturesque, and you can really climb it, because the stones are sticky. Sometimes the place is a little crowded, sometimes it is not, but its always fun to go there. Been there multiple times, will definitely come again.

Good for natural lovers ... it’s not very big waterfall but a waterfall with sticky rocks where you can climb. Almost 1hr drive. It’s called sticky waterfall because the calcium carbonate makes the rock grip, it’s makes climbing easy even with shoes or without shoes.Nice for kids, family or Solo like me 😉A day in nature will refresh us for a month.

Awesome park to explore! You can really easily walk up and down the waterfall, with caution of course. This was part of an all day temple/lotus flower/butterfly garden/lunch/sticky waterfall tour. With some searching online you can find this tour or one similar! So much for your $ I highly recommend.

Quiet beautiful waterfall. No entrance fee for anyone. You can climb down or climb up the waterfall (it’s not slippery and they have provided ropes to help your climbor you can go around it. The walk around the waterfall is about 1.5 km long. It’s totally worth it to visit this place when you travel to Chiang Mai.

Peaceful and very beautiful landscape. You can spend from 1.5 hours playing in the waterfalls, up to a whole day trekking around the national park and drinking mountain coffee.- There is a coffee house and a souvenir shop, you also have toilet, bathroom and shower rooms (which are very clean 👍)- There is also a locker service (you only pay a donationwhere you can store the items you dont want to get wet.

Iconic place! I always visit here whenever I come back to chiang mai. It makes a great day trip adventure with friends. Always cool to experience walking up a waterfall. I’d highly recommend grabbing a motorbike and coming out here or taking a red truck. There are little food shops and restaurants outside from the waterfall as well. There are ropes to help you on some parts of the waterfall. Prepared to get wet and to have a good time!

Amazing place and almost no people when we went there about 10 oclock. It looks very scary and dangerous, but its not slippery and fun to walk/climb around all the different areas if you have steady feet. If not there are footpaths to go around some of the areas. Great fun, highly recommended!

Very fun waterfall that you can walk up and down through it. There are a few branches the water takes giving you multiple paths to explore. At the bottom there is the biggest of the falls. Not very big but nice as it drops into the pond of water. Best to come early to the falls as it will be more fun with fewer people and plan to get wet. Having water shows would be good. If you want to make a full day in this area there are also hiking trails and bike rentals available.

Bua Tong waterfalls, aka Sticky Waterfalls was an amazing day trip from Chiang Mai! There is no entrance fee, getting in is free!We got there by renting a motorbike for 300 baht, and a quarter tank of gas got us to and back from Chiang Mai. It took us about 1 hour and 20 minutes each way. Going via motorbike was exhilarating and offered cool views of local markets and the countryside. Getting there is a straight shot once youre out of Chiang Mai, but I wouldnt say its for the feint of heart because you drive on the highway for a while before getting to the more rural areas.Dont worry about packing food -- theres a small food stand that offers tasty home cooked Thai food for cheap right when you pull into the parking lot. The pad Thai and their mango smoothie is delicious! We went just before sunset, and it was the perfect time to go -- the area gets bathed in a golden light during sunset and the temperature was nice. Its a short hike down to the bottom of the falls and its not difficult to climb up the waterfalls. The rock isnt exactly sticky, but you get a lot of traction and a really good foothold going up. There are ropes at various points to help you go up.If you dont want to climb up the falls themselves, there are steps that run along the waterfalls.Definitely a really cool experience, and I would love to go back one day!
