really good food for a fair preis
Excellent food quality and very kind personell !
Cute restaurant by the water with a great menu selection. The inside is spacious, so you will be able to get a seat. I had the pasta for dinner and it was a perfect size and very tasty; made me happy!! My husband had the lamb was not disappointed! I wish I had pay more attention to the menu to say if it is for everyone, but I would say check out the menu on the website if you have particular requests! I would suggest you stop for a nice dinner!
Oh my GOODNESS, where do I even begin. I suppose first of all, I can say my boyfriend and I considered this to be the best restaurant we went to on our trip. We ordered a couple of beers and the Dirty Fries and let me tell you, these are the best fries either of us have ever had in our entire lives. I swear, the conversation for the remainder of the trip consisted of at least two mentions about it per day. We were served by a waiter named Petur who was the epitome of professionalism and class. They offered a huge variety of alcohol, the prices were surprisingly cheaper than we expected for the standard at which they operated, and the view of the water with that little bridge was perfect for the setting. We were honestly SO lucky to have decided to stop in!
Went for a beer, but their menu is very inviting
Amazing dining experience. Everything was superb and a very fair price for quality. We had the fish of the day and the steak and they were both excelent. Staff was very nice and made sure everything was okay. A true fine dining experience in Iceland
A superb meal, with fantastic waiting staff. Could not have asked for a better night :)
Very nice and good quality. Also locals are joining that Restaurant.
Unfriendly staff. Better restaurants in the area.
TL;DR - Great atmosphere, view, & service but the food misses the mark. Our group was excited to try out this restaurant on our only night in Akureyri. However, many of the dishes we ordered were average. The Ceviche appetizer, trout appetizer and lamb entrée were pretty nice, but the langoustine pasta was bland and the Lava Sushi Roll was smothered in way too much sauce. For the price I dont think this restaurant offers much value.
Not the first time visiting the place. As always the food is quite good. I had a ribeye steak, which I would prefer to be uncut but its okay. The dessert was very nice, mango sorbet is something Im coming back to this restaurant for. The music is nice and the restaurant setup is very beautiful. The kitchen is closing in the middle of the day so I was the last client before closing. Waitresses speak good English and are nice however, having one client, they managed to confuse my beer and put the orange in it, didnt show much interest in how happy I am with food and forgot to offer me a menu with a deserts, which I asked for myself (not big of a deal). Service could improve a little. Fairly good price for a quality, definitely coming back 🙂
Our waitress recommended the Parma pizza and fresh catch. Both were very good! The interior was nice and had a great view of the harbor.
Outstanding!! Best restaurant we have tried for a long time. We had the cured cod and a local fish for entre followed by fish of the day (pan fried codand prawn linguini. All very well presented and absolute delicious. Service could not be better. And reasonably priced.
Probably the best tofu dish Ive ever had, and the service and atmosphere are top notch.
Good beer, nice view and beautiful decor inside. Service was acceptable and prices are high considering.
Great food and very friendly staff!
Delicious food and fantastic selection of gin and tonics. Great view and cool interior. Wonderful wait staff.
Beautiful building and candle light inside, greeted with a lovely member of staff. Menu was varied and had great complementary Japanese milk bread with black garlic butter and salt to start with our drinks. We shared the potatoe starter and langoustine coconut soup. Followed by the cod with buckwheat and langoustine pizza with white sauce & Parmesan. Food arrived piping hot with brilliant presentation. We were stuffed but had the chiefs special desert….it was brilliant
Service and food were great. A little on the expensive side compared to other options in the area. The menus changes at 545 and 7 for food and their Happy hour ending, so be aware not everything is available all night.
Boy oh boy is the pizza good. The sea fruits are also recommended. All in all good place for yummy dishes.
Just finished lunch here. We both had the cod and it was SUPERB! So fresh! The fries were tasty, the salad simple but pefect. Service was excellent: friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.
Ordered Langostine soup to start and the cod as a main, cod was fantastic - best fish I have ever had. Cooked perfectly and was even beautiful to look at. Heard the other table mention the lamb was out of this world so might have to go back soon.
Decent restaurant. We had the cod dish, the langoustine pasta and the lamb ribeye. everything was satisfactory, not refined but solid. Maybe a bit expensive for what is in the end just an average restaurant.
Great food and service! The restaurant is located very close to downtown Akureyri. It has a small menu, but everything we tried was good and the right portions to enjoy the meal and not end up too full. The ambiance capsule be casual or semi-formal depending on your party. It was a bit pricey, but for Iceland it didnt seem out of the ordinary.
This was a great place, sadly this is not so now. The menu fits on a single sheet of an A4 paper, one side, and isnt very varied. Given the few options one would think that prices would be lowered but they are excessive given the choice and the long time we had to wait for the food (almost an hour)
To small portions for the hefty price, not happy, will not come here again. The chad is like a 2 mm thin slice and the pasta very bad. Meat was good but same problem again, to small portions for the price.
A cozy place to enjoy your dinner. Vera tasty food and great waiters. Would definitely come back!
Their menu was SO good when we came there at the end of 2019. It was diverse and felt like you had many things to choose from. But their new menu is just...so boring? Not even mozarella sticks on the menu. But their staff is always wonderful and welcoming, and the place itself is very cozy and lovely. But the three starts are definitely going towards the staff here.
Very good pizza, fine Icelandic beer, in Nordic style ambient, soft lights and comfortable atmosphere.
The food was awesome. a nice view of akureyri at night can be shot.
Solid food in a cozy environment. The portions are not a joke so dont be surprised to leave with leftovers.A great stop for some comfortable food.
After all the positive reviews I was totally disappointed. The burger was one of the worst I ever had. No taste at all, no seasoning and the very flat beef patty was dry and pressed to a compact hard mass. It was really hard to chew. And that was only the food. Service is not better. First they messed up the order and forgot one of the appetizers. The excuse was a computer error...And when we asked for the bill our waiter acknowledged it and was never seen again.I would not go again and cannot recommend the restaurant.
The good food at a reasonable price! The place it self is cosy, especially if you can snag one of the booths in the back of the main dining area. The furniture is rustic and all wood, I feel it adds to the experience. The staff is usually courteous and willing to help, though from my visits over time I can say things dont happen very fast. That is not necessarily a bad thing though, I feel it gives of the sense that there is no need to hurry like in many restaurants where the waiters are buzzing around you like flies. The food is very good and very reasonably priced. I had the ribs last time I was there and my girlfriend had a pizza (there is a good verity of things to choose from on the menu), we were both very pleased with the food.
We came here two together on Valentines day, and both of were very content. I as a vegan was very pleesed with the food, but every thing else was great. The service is fantastic, the wine and the atmosphere. Strongly recommend this restaurant.
Decent burger. Very nice warm setting and quick service.
It was quiet when I went around lunch, so the food arrived really quickly. Needless to say it was bloody good! Mozzarella sticks and the Bryggjan burger are definitely recommended.
Service and ambiance were great. Ribs were super yummy and chips were the best I’ve tasted in Iceland. Hubby ordered the pasta with lobster and while it was very tasty, for the price the lobster portion could have been a bit more generous.
What a wondeful experience! Handsdown our most delicious and festive meal in Iceland. Chef Clent is the best!
It has been a really good pizza there. Service was outstanding.I really had a problem to decide what to eat, since the menu had really a lot of different choices, so i did go for mozzarella sticks with salsa as starter - they were awesome. The Pizza as main course was super delicious too. They made a mistake with a topping of another pizza and they didn‘t charge the pizza.Would definitely recommend again.
I like the dinning food style of this restaurant. Waiters are friendly and responsive. There is kids menu given for children with painting games inside.
Stunning ribs and pizza. Me and my wife visited one evening and was delighted with what we found. A beautiful building with lovely staff and best of all plenty of locals eating there also (always a good sign in my opinion). Really cant recommend it enough if you are in akureyri and fancy some good food. It isnt in what you might call the centre exactly but it is only a extremely short walk to there!Very very good thanks for your
Great pizza and ribs served here. The price is reasonable in Iceland. The environment is good too.
Food was reasonably priced, for Iceland. Pizza was good but the Louisiana chicken wasnt my favorite. Still, wasnt disappointed. Its also open relatively late, even on Sunday.

Went here for food as we had a coupon from the Iceland coupons book, pizza was delicious and we shared it with fries between two of us. Lovely place, good service, English spoken by servers.
Good food and nice staff in a cosy atmosphere with Icelandic prices. Also seems to be a nice place to go to with kids - saw lots of families and all the kids seemed well entertained :)
Bryggjan honestly has a lot of great food :The locals all like it as far as I know. Ive heard they have the best pasta in town, but I wont vouch for it since I havent tried it myself! 😂Its looks lovely on the inside. Old and rustic but its not actually that old!The only thing thats a little disappointing is that they tend to be a little slow... And sometimes they mix up orders a bit but nothing too major. Its a great place for family and friends or larger groups since they do have a few rooms that are easy to set up for larger parties :)
A really nice looking pizza pub. The place was originally built in 1911 and later converted to a restaurant in the 1990s. The old exposed rafters looked really cool and the brick bar was a cool touch. The staff were pleasant and the odd pizza recipes were actually quite good. Ive never had cream cheese on a pizza but it was quite good.
We went there on a Friday evening. The restaurant was full of locals and we were the only tourists which made us feel good. The waitress was really nice and the pizza were good, although not exceptionnal (The crust was a bit hard). Besides this, it is a really nice location in the town!
