Museum of history, from prehistory to the medieval, in a 1551 building first used for selling silk.
Historical museum in heart of Sarajevo. From prehistorical till Austro Hungarian empire. Buy group ticket for Despica house, Historical museum, Jewish house and Svrzica house.
Vrlo neprofesionalno.
Manji muzej, ali lijep sadrzaj.Ima se sta vidjeti.Sve preporuke!
This is one the finest museums in Sarajevo (the collections are very goodwith very friendly staff who (free of charge!gave me a 20-minutes excursion in English and answered my questions. I was quite pleased and enjoyed being so welcomed. Definitely worth visiting.
In the heart of Baščaršija, you will find a construction with 6 cupolas. It is not obvious, but thats a Museum of Sarajevo. Kind guides will show you the history of Sarajevo and the region. You will get out rich with knowledge and very interesting stories and historical facts about Sarajevo and the Bosnian people. There are a lot of interesting and very old exhibits that witness the oldest periods of civilization in this area. You will be able to ask questions about each historical period and get all answers. I recommend you to visit this museum and enjoy it. Cheers!
An excellent museum! Right at the center of Sarajevo, it offers all the information on the history of this amazing city. The person in charge, who is an archaeologist, will happily guide you through the history paths and everyday life of Sarajevo and will answer all your questions. Spend some extra time in this museum and you will not regret it!
An excellent review of five thousands years of human habitation, how Sarajevo developed and the saving of the Ottoman area from ‘improvement’. All this from an enthusiastic staff, so take time to ask questions. Notable also for 15th Century carved stones that lay over graves, the carvings telling the life story. Something unique and which can still be found on the grave stones in the many modern cemeteries.
Even if its a smaller museum compared to others in Sarajevo, I can guarantee you this is one of the best museums in whole Sarajevo. If you really want to see and learn about the whole known history of Sarajevo and to see many artifacts, this is an excellent place for you! :)
Found this museum (3km entry)by accident. Of particular interest to me was a group of displays of Sarajevo area Bronze and Iron Age artifacts, including the rarely found research on the Celtic/ Celts ( KeltskoIncredible to see that early regional history present in a small museum. Wall descriptions are in Bosnian and English.Only unfortunate part was that the early artifacts were not labeled, but other artifacts were well labeled. I need to return to take in the beautiful pieces from later time periods.A fantastic small museum nested close to a hearty Bosnian restaurant.
I LOVE this Museum! If not one of the Best Museums in the City of Sarajevo!Theres so much detail to this Masterpiece of a Building, with History from Prehistory, Bronze to Medieval, Ottoman and even a short Austro-Hungarian exhibition!Go visit if in Sarajevo!

A nice museum, full of 16th century Bosnian stuff clothe, weapons, lifestile, all around a nice place to visit.
Super
Very nice. You can buy some very nice stuff. You need to be polite with the seller.
Amazing market place
If you want to get you some not original fancy stuff ,this is just the right place. Make sure you talk about the Price with the salesman, you can get it cheaper
Top.
In the heart of the old town and yet no other visitors when I went. This is a lovely 16th Century building, previously used as a silk market but now used to explore aspects of the citys early existence from prehistoric times. It is only 3KM to visit (the cost of a double scoop ice-creamso well worth stopping to see, even if you just have 30 mins to spare. Please support these excellent cultural exhibitions.
Nice museum with interesting details from the history of Sarajevo. Cool displays for pretty cheap, but more things could be labeled with info.
Very interesting museum with beatyfull mockup of the old city.
Great museum
Very nice little museum that holds artefacts from Sarajevo history, from ancient ages to the WW1
One of the most valuable museums in Sarajevo, from neolit period until Ottoman empire age. But, there are no description tags for every piece and lot of them are mixed up.
Great place like small kapaly carsija in Istanbul.... u must see
The museum focus on the evolution and the transformation of Sarajevo. With the admission of 3KM you learn quite a bit.
A great little museum, most certainly worth a visit!
Museum
A very nice covered market with an old ottoman style. all shops inside it have cheap price products specially bosnian gifts. only comment is that it needs a little bit more care from the govermnent.
Nice building from Othomans times, but as a museum does not offer much.
Kapalıçarşıya çok benziyor. Bakım yapılmış güzel olmuş.
They renovated the place. It is in the "turkish" part of the old town. People are selling some nice stuff, but I think the most souvenirs are a bit overpriced. Some sellers are willing to negotiate, but most of them stick to their original prices. Most of the stuff are resold and are not actually made by people who sell them. We found just one lady, who according to her telling, they are making their own jewelry and they even look nice and unique. It is nice to visit this place, but not a must.
Very interesting museum, a must see!
Traditional place, but little bit expensive
Ancient museum, history of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Nice place
Increadible place. Greate atmosphere. According to guides virtually unchanged. Some good shopping opportunities as well.
Small and interesting museum. Its not the bazar in Gazi Bezistan!
Small but nice Museum of Sarajevo.
Probably the oldest mall in Sarajevo. Mostly a tourist trap though. OK for souvenirs I guess.
