Bruce Bay Cottages & Lighthouse in Thessalon

We stayed in cottage #2 while visiting our son in September. Loved it! The owners are delightful and so helpful. Our little cottage was the kind I remembered as a kid. It provided everything we could ever need. It was clean and so comfortable. The wood stove made everything warm and cozy. We have booked a week in the summer, I think that says it all. I cant wait! Thank you for a great experience.

This place is run like a top. The woman in charge is sweet as pie and as helpful as they come. The cabins are wood heated, but we got to test our fire making skills for the first time in a while and honestly it fits the setting. The views are immaculate, the trails and the surrounding town are great, and youll fall in love with the cabin itself. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

Rented the lounge for a workshop. Great venue, owners provided top service at the last minute for us when another venue cancelled, reasonable cost and couldnt beat the beauty of the bay!

I really cannot say enough good things about this beautiful location, and lovely people. Its been 5 years since we started coming to Bruce Bay Cottages and although the cottages are absolutely lovely, the lighthouse will always have our hearts. You will never regret any time spent on these magical islands. Thank you Pat and Larry for another lovely stay. See you next year!

We stayed one night on the way to Thunder Bay, Pat is very nice and helpful. Cottage has its own access to beach and very quiet. Beautiful View, very clean cottage. Recommend for family vacation and friends reunion.

The drive up north to Bruce Bay Cottages was spectacular. It was a 7 hour road trip for us (myself, girlfriend, and the catbut was worth every minute. Arriving to our cute little cottage overlooking the Bay was a fairytale dream. We spent the weekend on the water, enjoying the campfire, and siteseeing Lake Superior and stopping at Chippewa Falls for some fishing. Will def make a trip out again sometime, 5 out of 5 stars!

We just stayed in the lighthouse for the past few nights. It was a something we have been looking forward to since we booked it much earlier this year. Pat was great at keeping us informed with covid info - and any changes that would/would not affect our trip. Fortunately, everything went smoothly. We had a complete no-contact visit, with the lighthouse and both islands all to ourselves. It was wonderful to just enjoy this complete winter wonderland oasis. Our dog also took full advantage and romped through the trails. We managed to get out for a cross-country ski too. Pat even added a personal touch by putting a fully decorated Christmas tree up for us in the main room at the lighthouse. WONDERFUL experience... also, the sunrises that we got were fabulous!

Want an amazing place! It makes for the perfect get away! The island is beautiful and extremely private. All of the cottages are right on the water, there are sand beaches, fire pits, kayaks, wifi, beautiful hiking trails, and a lovely host. Thanks for everything! 🙏

Great spot for a relaxing vacation! Awesome sunrises and sunsets on the water, nice trails to walk, free kayaks and canoes, and a cozy wood fireplace.

Clean, extremely pet friendly with rustic cabins built in the 1920s. Wonderful walking trails with a gorgeous views to reward you. If youre staying long enough that youre going to cook several meals and enjoy your food preparation time I advise you bring a few mixing bowls and sharp knives. Otherwise very well supplied including towels and bedding.If you like the paddle youll have several choices of what to go on to the water in.Fairy swimmable beach with diving Rock just off the screened porch. And seeing the young eagle fly over a few times was the highlight of my visit.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Very pleasant and accommodating owner.

Its a cute little place with great scenery however, the cabins (at least cabins 3-6are just too close together, which would be fine if I were friendlier 😀. Also, be advised there is no tv and the wifi is only accessed by walking to the end of the drive-way ( not very far)

Paradise found! So much to explore and discover here in any weather and any season. Affordable, well appointed, immaculately cared-for cabins. Pleasant, welcoming hosts and a beautiful, peaceful, natural setting with access to kayaks, canoes, bicycles and a WiFi hotspot all included in the rental cost. Only eight cabins and the lighthouse are available for rent so it will never be crowded.

Cabins were a little close together for my liking, but other than that, this was a nice camp site.. A few different beaches to check out, decent hiking trail. Will probly return for another trip in the future.

Rustic cottage with everything you need to enjoy the outdoors! Firepit at your cottage, canoes, kayaks, bicycles, and firewood all provided! Bring your groceries and personal clothing etc. Linens and kitchen things all here! Even heated with a wood fired stove/space heater! Great relaxing time and nice area!

What an incredible experience at Bruce Bay cottages! We stayed in cottage 4 right on the little beach. It was the perfect size cabin for two, with everything you could possibly need. The property is beautiful and hosts incredible energy!! Make sure you ask Pat where the meditation rock is ;I am dying to come back and spend more time at this peaceful little cottage on the lake. The kitchen was super clean, has everything you could need, warm water, great shower and even a bed on the veranda if you want to sleep out there and wake up to the sound of the lake. Heads up! It’s heated by a central fireplace so if it’s chilly make sure you pack well, and know how to light a fire.10/10 would recommend !

We enjoyed the weekend so much that we plan on coming again for a longer stay. Beautiful, spooky and quiet. So much to do.

Relax the minute you arrive. The owners, Pat and Larry, have amazing cottages with lots to do to escape to nature. Forgot to bring something? They do their best to accommodate, just ask.

Cute comfy cottage. Well supplied, as far as blankets and dishes. We should have got food before reaching Bruce Mines. Thoroughly enjoyed using the complimentary kayaks, canoe, and row boat on Bruce Bay. Didnt have time to use bicycles(also complimentaryor walking paths. Hope to make our next stay longer.

We absolutely love this place. The owners are very sweet and welcoming. The cottages are so well maintained and cozy. There are so many little details in each cottage that make it feel like home. Beyond that, the grounds are spectacular. I could not recommended this place enough. Great for family or couples.

Super friendly owners, great amenities, beautiful lake, free kayaks, canoes and bikes. Cottages are terminally charming and surprisingly spacious. Cant miss this place if youre anywhere near the area.

Ive never felt so accommodated. Cozy rustic cottages great for families of all ages. We go back every year.

This is my 2nd time this year coming up to these cottages. The managers Sean and Holly are great! They are very accomodating and the cabins provide everything you need for an amazing stay (short or long). The cabins are super cute and each one is a bit different. There are many things to do as well, canoes, kayaks, sailboats..EVERYTHING for you to enjoy! There is a grocery store super close and a nice local restaurant, LCBO. Things at your convenience. Amazing.
