All-day British chain brasserie and bar with lobster nights and afternoon tea in grand cafe setting.
We were a party of 38 people for a pre-wedding shindig and the whole experience from start to finish was a joy and hassle-free. I dealt with Danny and Kateryna during the process and they were friendly, efficient and communicative throughout. On the night, everything ran efficiently again and with no mistakes made for meals. It was an absolute pleasure overall and I wouldnt think twice about arranging a "big do" at Browns again.
Excellent food and fantastic service. Renata is a true professional, she served our large group of 28 with such ease. Nothing was any trouble and the food and drinks were perfect. Will definitely return if in the area again.
Our 1st time at this restaurant and well be back again! My wife and I attended Browns to celebrate her birthday. The venue was clean and the ambience was perfect for fine dining. The staff were pleasant and cheerful, attentive too.The food we ordered (Chicken Schnitzel and Pulled Lamb shepards piewas of very good quality and presented well on the plates. The egg was cooked to perfection and the chicken tender. Chips were crisp and fluffy inside. The pie was sublime. Chock full of tender pork that melted in the mouth. The broccoli was perfectly cooked. It was also a lovely suprise for my wife to be presented with a celebratory birthday dessert plate and being sang to. It showed the staff paid attention to the reason for our attendance and it was lovely gesture. The Malbec wine was robust and earthy with a lovely orange overtone. The berry belini cocktail was full of zest and bursting that Berry taste. The food loses 1 star for the Black Forest cocktail which I thought had been overwhelmed by a ginger taste. It was still pleasant but not quite what I expected. And lastly the staff. In particular Simona and Bos were professional, courteous and fun too.Overall a very enjoyable evening.Well done team a fantastic visit and well be back again soon.
It was good that they catered for gluten free. Service was very slow considering there were about 5 members of staff on shift and only having 5 tables to serve in the whole restaurant at the time, waitress forgot to order our breakfast so we had to wait a long time. Then when it arrived, items were forgotten on the breakfast and the breakfast was cold.
We just had dinner here. Amazing staff, food and atmosphere!I gave 5 star to the staff only because I cannot give them 6. They have been extraordinary looking after us, so a big thank you from all of us! We will definitely come back.
What an amazing experience! Im so grateful to the team at Browns who helped me host an unforgettable bridal shower, in their downstairs dining area! Each staff member was incredibly attentive, supportive and offered guests a 5* service! The food was really good and accommodated our budget too. I would like to give a special thank you to Jacob and Bas who were so responsive during the planning phase! Thank you all for making the day so special, I couldnt recommend Browns West India Quay any more highly!!!
Booked at a table 19:15pm to celebrate a friend’s birthday and for her to have surf and turf for the first time. Unfortunately they had run out of almost everything including the main thing we came for; no lobster and no steak. Very disappointing! Our waitress (service with no smilekept leaving during ordering to find out what was still available. Limited menu/ options. I would not return or recommend for special occasions.Even though we didn’t get what we can for, considering how much we spent, I expected a bit more at least a service with a smile.
We popped in here on our way back to our hotel for drinks. We were greeted by Joan who was courteous and friendly. We were shown to a lovely seat next to the bar and he took our order. Moments later he was back with our drinks. Very charming and attentive
Great service, but food a bit overpriced. Had to search hard for the asparagus in the curry! The chocolate brownie was really good, although it didnt have the honeycomb ice cream with it.
Nice settings, customer service was ok.Food was cook well but..... is was do bland the family ordered different options of the menu and just found every taste less. No unfortunately I wouldnt waste my time going back.
We had a very special gathering to celebrate friends from near and far having known each other for 50 years. We wanted a place that didnt rush you and allowed us to mingle as a group before having an early supper. The staff lead by Jade were exceptional in every way, very accommodating and professional. The food was excellent as always with great choices for everyone and all dietary considerations offered - we will definitely be back when we return to UK next summer and would highly recommend Browns for its comfortable ambiance, fresh seafood and high quality food and in particular staff that really care and offering real hospitality when so many places are lacking at the moment. Thank you for making our day so memorable.
I always loved the building. Easy to get to. Either by DLR and get off at canary wharf or west India Quay.Food is nice and taste yum. Nicely presented. Price Id moderate.Service has room for improvement. The restaurant is not full but yet we need to wait quite long to be served or settling our own bills.
Late light lunch on a warm summers day in the middle of the week. Table outside in the shade, not very busy. We ordered from the set lunch menu and had the smoked salmon followed by chicken salad. Salmon was OK, nothing special but nice crispy fried capers. The salad was actually a lot nicer than expected - its a chicken salad right. But this salad had lots of unexpected ingredients which kept the interest going and it was very filling indded. Nice glass of house white. Great value for money. Happy bunch.
Fantastic bar / restaurant on the edge of Canary Wharf right by the Marriott. Despite having an upmarket feel its very chilled and relaxed with arguably the cheapest bar prices in the area. The only improvement I would wish for is more vegetarian options on the menu so that we could eat as well as drink there.
Renata was great! Her attention to detail made us feel special! Today’s lunch was amazing! Great food and atmosphere. Will definitely come back!
Have visited several times in the past and was eagerly awaiting to come back. Impeccable service from Renata, put us at easy, allowing us to enjoy ourselves without being overbearing. Fish pie was sublime and so was the steak on the bone.
Restaurant is cosy and welcoming, with tasteful decor. Interesting choices in the menu. Highly recommend the cheese board to finish with a glass of port. Attentive service from Renata with an edge over every other restaurant in Canary Wharf.
Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in West India Quay. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in mouths. Absolutely the best meal, I would like to thanks SIMONA , Highly recommend!
Theo building is spacious, beautifully designed and cleaned. Food was very good and they Aldo carter for any food preferences. Renata couldn,t have been more friendly.
Popped in here the other day and was initially greeted nicely. We then told them we would like just a coffee and some drinks and were then, what felt like dismisses to the back as the waiter told us to take a seat ‘on one of the tables in the back or corner’ We were then told we had to go and order at the bar which was completely fine but the vibe was completely off. The rest of the area was clearly being waited on whilst we had to go to the bar awkwardly and order our drinks. Nonetheless we ordered our drinks but sat down slightly concerned as the iced coffee looked very watery. We expressed our concern that they did not taste right and we were faced with the same disgruntled waiter. He then proceeded to make patronising comments as if we were incorrect and begrudgingly took away the drinks. Two new coffees came back which looked more up to scratch however they had not topped up the ice and the old half melted ice was still floating around the cup and they hadn’t added the syrup which we reminded them we had paid for. Overall, it’s not what you expect from a nice place like this. You actually get better service in Greggs (And a better coffee!). Such a shame but I would suggest avoiding if you just want drinks and avoid if you want nice service too.
Setting, ambiance and service outstanding. They have a very special gluten free menu, which is superbly executed upon. A shout out to Renata for looking after us so well.
The food was delicious, plates were really well presented and they came super fast. An extra star to great service from Renata. Super recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner out.
The prawn and chorizo starter was so good we ordered twice. The venue was spotless and service amazing. Special thanks to Renata for the suggestions on wine and cocktails. We had a lovely time.
I came in a week or so ago, the food was really good but what made the experience better was Renata. She made sure we we happy all time and even recommended the best choice for us to drink and eat.Thank you!!
Lovely lunch with my family on Monday! Enjoyed the view by the river! Service was excellent by Monika our waitress who looked after very well! Will definitely go back soon
We had a fantastic family meal at this restaurant. The fresh fish of the day was delicious and everyone’s food very tasty. Our waitress Renata took very good care of us. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time and look forward to visiting again.
We came in a group of four and we set outside on Monday.Great options on the menu and when the food arrived we were very happy as it was even better then the description. The service was amazing by Renata, I would say 5 star.would definitely come back.keep up with the great job guys.
Great find. Excellent food and the wine menu offers options varying in price range and featuring different regions. Service was smooth and Renata was kind, nice and professional
My reservation was at 8PM but we arrived way too early and since the restaurant was not too busy at the time, they accommodated us.Renata was the one serving us during our dinner and she was fantastic! It was too warm inside the restaurant. The air-conditioning was not doing its job properly.
I used to love this place but the last time I went was not a good experience. My sons took me for my birthday and the service was so disappointing. They even made me feel bad for taking up their time. Very dismissive and poor. The portion sizes have been noticeably reduced lately. To spend that much money and leave feeling like a nuisance was disturbing. Well go elsewhere in the future.
The host Jade was amazing!!! Not only did she set the honest expectations around waiting time she was welcoming, polite, kind and very hospitable. The service was A-class. Please thank the Chef and Jade for our lovely dining experience.
We had a great meal, just what you expect for the cost, but the highlight of the evening was the brilliant service from Renata. She was the perfect host and was well informed about the menu as well as being good fun and very efficient.
I visited today and I was not impressed at all, I have been dining at this restaurant for 12 years and its merely going downhill, first of all we waited so long to be served once we sat down that I had to get up and call a waitress to attend to us, we then ordered a Sunday roast chicken each but were served roast beef (this was reported and they eventually served us what we orderedand all of the waiters were not being attentive at all, they were not looking to see if anyone wanted their attention, you had to either stand up or wait forever until a waiter rushed past you to catch their attention, they were busy talking and laughing amongst each other and just generally being inattentive and uncaring. This restaurant used to be great, the staff used to be attentive and professional but unfortunately that is no longer the case, expect to wait a very long time to be attended to once you sit down and have a very hard time getting any waiters attention. Just a very poor experience, especially when youre paying a high price and service charge. The staff need training, I was not the only one who looked fed up and were desperately trying to be served by a waiter. Overall extremely disappointing and underwhelming, this is no longer our go to restaurant for a Sunday roast dinner.
The food was amazing! The service was so delightful. I enjoy coming here because the people who work here are so kind and friendly. It’s a lovely restaurant and I always leave full and happy! They helped me celebrate my sister at short notice! It’s such an awesome place to go🌸
My husband and I went to Brown’s at Canary Wharf. The menu had some great options and we were looking forward to spending a couple of hours there but it seemed the servers were not interested. The food was okay but the service was below average. No one came to take our order, no one gave us the drinks menu, no one asked us anything. The place wasn’t even full and even it was that’s not the service you expect. The servers had the most blank expressions.. a smile really doesn’t cost anything..By the way our dessert never came. Horrible service, never going back there.
Avoid the fish and chips.Fish full of bones. Batter flavorless. Fish tasteless. Add more tartar sauce to get through one of the worst fish and chips in England.
Great location in Canary Wharf.Good menuWe had coffee & chicken 🐔 & chipsBeautiful insideGood toiletsStaff were super helpful & courteous
Excellent service from a lovely polish lady. She recommended special salmon with glass of white wine. I really enjoyed. My husband had schnitzel and spinach. Also delicious. The atmosphere and service 5 stars!
One of the unpleasant experiences I’ve had in a pub/restaurant. A manager looking lady was trying to fix the seats and menu for us which I hold my patient not to rate one star. Calamari and Scallops’ dishes were tasteless and staff is poorly strained. I will never go back again.
Smallest brownie but super delicious eheheh.. yhiugh not the
Nice atmosphere for a family Sunday roast. Good size portions and caters for everyone from meat eaters to vegetarians. The kids size meals are nearly as big as the adult portions.Reason for 3 stars is because previously we booked a vegetarian afternoon tea in advance and on the day the tea set that was served to us was not vegetarian. When you alerted staff that is wasn’t vegetarian the food was taken away and when returned it was clear that just the meat was removed sandwiches and we were not given a new tea set. The staff wasn’t friendly when we told them about this and we have to write a letter to head office who kindly gave us a voucher to apologise for this experience which we used on a family Sunday roast.
We hired the downstairs area of Browns West India Quay for our engagement party and it was absolutely fantastic. The team including, Jacobo, Tabs, Rui and Anna were so helpful and accommodating to our requests. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a fairly large yet still intimate setting for their event. Prices are reasonable too and food tasted really good!
On 16th March we had our wedding celebration in this cosy and beautiful downstairs bar. From the very beginning of planing this day, people working there were supper helpful, polite and willing to go extra mile to make sure every detail was up to our requirements. Food looked amasing and tasted supper good. Service was outstanding. We even got a surprise performance from one of the bar members.Thank you to all for making our big day so special. With loveSigita and Ricardo
The food is good and the staff are very friendly.Overall great brunch experience
We hired out the downstairs (Cellar Barof the venue for a Corporate event and I cannot recommend it enough. The team from our initial enquiry and throughout the whole process were very helpful and accommodating. The venue is ideal and we had 200 clients and partners attend. All attendees were also very complimentary of the venue, location, service and quality of the food we had served at two different intervals.
Genuinely one of the best meals Ive ever eaten. Just hearty, comforting, delicious food with great service. The decor is so relaxing and the staff really made an effort even though Im sure there were no doubt plenty of other places theyd rather be on Christmas Eve!The starters were just okay (calamari was soggybut the portions right the way through were huge, just how I like! And the mains were cracking. The lamb and the pork belly dishes were divine, as were the desserts, and the wine menu was fab. The mulled wine tasted almost medicinal, in the best way possible.I will surely be back when Im next in London. 5 stars!!
Lovely Sunday roast at Browns. Cosy warm and welcoming and attentive staff. Had scallops (x4for starters, they were small but very tasty. I opened for the half roast chicken with all the timings (see menu). Beautifully cooked and delicious, I couldnt finish the plate (I can eat a lot). No room for pudding but polished off a few drinks. Martini glass Cocktails a little on the small size, long island ice tea for the win. Thank you Browns we will be back
Really good portions, lovely service but the excellent customer service team. They went out of their way to help decorate the table for my friend’s engagement party 🎉. Food was also very delicious 🤤
The service and staff were super friendly and attentive, the decor is nice, the food is a bit under whelming. The dirty martini was lush though. We had the squid, chicken skewers and chips. We didnt stay for a main and decided to get dinner from somewhere else.
Browns - West India QuayGreat experience and food at Browns Canary Wharf as expected at any Browns brasseries. We ordered a selection of four mains, including the Sunday roast. All mains were cooked to perfection. The sirloin beef was succulent and the roasted vegetables was amazing. The fish and chips were fresh and very tasty. The only issue we did have however, is that we ordered a chicken burger with specific allergy requirements. We requested that the burger did not include tomato as one of our members was allergic to this. When the burger arrived it had tomato inside it. This was however quickly replaced, but by the time it was changed everyone else had finished their food. We did get a sincere apology from the manager and we happily accepted this as mistakes happen, so if you have a food allergy, ensure to check the food before you eat it. The desserts was very nice as usual, the chocolate brownie and apple crumble in particulate was divine. Overall, as a person who eats here regularly, I would highly recommend this branch of Browns
