All-day British chain brasserie and bar with lobster nights and afternoon tea in grand cafe setting.
Had some rounds at the bar good atmosphere
Fantastic enviromnment, friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices.
Quick teatime bite enroute to The Lane. Not the largest of portions, not the smallest of price 🤣 loses a point for atmosphere as we were seated under a staircase...beer choice wasnt the most interesting
We went for an early supper, great service to start with until two very large parties came in upstairs. Staff apologised for the wait.Apart from that, cant fault them.
The food was good but the noise was really bad, even though we were in a private area with curtains only, no walls/door to separate us. Difficult to hear people, would have been unpleasant in the main dining area.
Very poor quality Burger. Should be a staple for a restaurant such as yours. It is not that difficult to make a good homemade free burger - yours tasted like the worst of a discount supermarkets frozen burger. My first choice was a pie but even at 12.15 that was not available. Service shocking
Today the service was not great. Chips forgotten so we got them half way through main course. Only 2 desserts ordered and think they were forgotten too. 20 mins to arrive and one was ice cream!! 3 attempts at getting the bill right.
I ordered a rib eye 5 - 10 mins later the waiter returned and said that there was no ribeye. I then ordered Sirloin over 30 minutes later I was told there was no ribeye. How can this happen, just not acceptable. Really disappointed. My friends fish was cold and had obviously been sitting there waiting for my food. It took around 1 hour from first ordering for our food to arrive. The front of house people were polite and courteous and could not do enough for us.Pints of Peroni cost over £7
Had one of the worst dishes I’ve ever had eating out here last night. I had the “aubergine romesco” which turned out to be two small rolls of pickled aubergine (from a jarin a tomatoey soup (sauce?with a handful of watercress on top of it, and a Parmesan crisp. It was sour, didn’t taste good, and cost £15.50. Service was good though.
Lovely restaurant but very disappointed in the food. I ordered the Steak and Ale pie - what I got was largely a cubed carrot pie. Plenty of carrot but very little steak and in fact very little filling - the filling didnt fill half the pot it came in and sat well below the crust. Ive had far better meals with value for money in pubs and cafes.
Lovely looking place with good food presentation and service, unfortunately the Scallops lacked any flavour and the blackened cod was massively over salted, ruining the meal. Colleagues complained the Fish and chips were tasteless and cold.
Nice place and decent bar options. Pretty busy for a Thursday night but good atmosphere and found seats at the bar
Tucked away down a side road, if you dont know its here you might miss it. Beautiful venue.
The restaurant was empty at the time. I felt the service reflected the mood of the restaurant rather empty and slightly impatient. We ended up only eating started and drinking champagne.
Great visit - very friendly helpful staff. Good facilities. Great food. Had an excellent time and would come again.
We walked in after reading about their wonderful afternoon tea menu on their website only to be met with a waitress that told us that they were only open for drinks and looked at us with such confusion when we mentioned the afternoon tea. Please update your website if youre not offering this menu as we had traveled from the other side of the city just to have afternoon tea at Browns.
Excellent interior and environment, food is British - French inspired, very good , clean and modern
Very nice pub centrally located near Bank. Looks grand from inside and ample of sitting space. Nice staff.
Absolutely terrible service, arrived at 11:30 to be lead to a table and then sat down with a murmuring grunt (something about the breakfast menu). Left there without a single word past this, waited 20 mins (in a virtually empty restaurant to order. Got ignored even when i stood up to ask what/why - then watched a lady just arriving get served immediately. Not impressed.
Passing through London on a Wednesday morning and found l it was a nice, clean, quiet place for breakfast and a bit of work. Plugs were available, WiFi was good, and the waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. The food wasnt great, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I had the scrambled eggs with salmon - eggs were dry and underwhelming and salmon was...there. I had an orange juice with that which was iced and flavourless? It filled a hole I guess, what else can I say.The price was what youd expect in London. Thought I would get more bang-for-my-buck quality and portion-wise.Overall, I did like coming here for the quiet space but will not order the salmon thing again.
This place is a stylish, bright, spacious place. The welcome was nice attentive staff it was a quiet Saturday afternoon. Nice food with British staples on the menu Fish and chips, Pie and Mash and other selections. We will be dining here again.
Service was spot on & the food delicious! Thankyou very much for a lovely late lunch. Would highly recommend!
As said before this is more a restaurant than pub. The food is excellent, especially the fish. The service is great and the ambience good. I would recommend booking though they always try to accommodate. Toilets are upstairs so maybe an issue if you have a disability, though there maybe a lift I recommend this venue
Was here on a work dinner, nice food was good that they printed out your pre order as I always forget. Calamari was soft and tasty and the chicken schnitzel was massive.
Very disappointed at the food, had heard so much about this restaurant but for me did not live up to expectations. Staff though were very friendly.
The location is good, the service was great and the food was delicious.
Clean and nice staff...Food was bland and nothing special.Sorry thats my opinion.
Veggie breakfast here is very limited. However the overall experience is nice for breakfast. Very traditional London establishment
Nice atmosphere and location. Food was good and so was the service. Our choices were dominated by seafood or fish, so can’t comment on the meaty dishes. Prices are ok as well.
Lovely occasion meeting up with a friend for the first time since lockdown. We opted for the set 3-course lunch. The first and last course were delicious and well presented. However, the risotto was overcooked and claggy.
Staff was unprofessional and was in such a hurry to cater to the customers. If your site says you close 11pm you should not be going after customer to leave.
Great please, an amazing atmosphere.I had the mozzarella salad and rib eye steak both were delicious.I will definitely visit again. Please pass my compliment to the team.
Had an amazing time here. Nice place and food, but a special thanks to the staff which have been fantastic.
Amazing food, Guinness and a great Irish coffee to top it off
Brought a group of 26 for dinner, brilliant service, brilliant food, would highly recommend! Paulina and her team were absolutely first class!
Not busy, so nice peaceful meal and cocktails with friends. The fish pie could have had a bit more fish. Cocktails are around £10. Staff friendly and attentive. Restaurant and washrooms were clean. Lovely building
This place is becoming my regular place after work. The management is very friendly and the service is superb. All staff looking after the guest very well. Me personally recommend this place to everyone who wants to enjoy a good food or wants to have a drink with friends. This place is a must visit.
Very stylish location and also perfect for large companies dinner! 💚 We’ve been here with our international sales team and had a fabulous time!🍽🥂🍾
It was early for dinner so fairly quiet but staff were really friendly & we asked to move to a nicer table which was no problem.
Nice friendly staff. However avoid the steak and Guinness pie.It is not a pie! Rather it is a bowl with a short crust lid. Inside was a soup, literally. What meat there was was flakes, it was basically a soup. All this and mash potato for £16. So avoid. I didnt complain as there was several of us and didnt wish to cause a scene. However my friends (2who had the same, had the same experience. It needs to be added that the others in our party had an excellent meal. However this is my review of my experience.
Nice place to have drinks and meal with friends. Very spacious. Plenty of seats when I went on a Friday night (maybe it was because of pre lockdown). Average price for drinks innl City of London. Staff are friendly and professional.
On this particular occasion we were a Christmas party of 8 and unfortunately my food (roast turkeywas gold. I did mention it to the waitress who appreciate me telling he but we didnt really get any apologies etc. Not disappointing to be honest. Oh well, hopefully next time better but I hope Browns read this and ensure food is not sent out cold. It tasted like eating Christmas left overs as it wasnt hot.
The staff were great, polite and respectful. Food was excellent too. I will go there again. Best place to relax and enjoy your meal
Great place to hang out for drink after work or even for dinner. Staff members are great and got some good up-selling skills, to make your evening even better! We’ll be back
I am a regular city diner, but eat in Browns only a handful of times per year. Last week I was served what was literally the absolute worst steak I have ever seen. The meat smelled off and had a metallic tang. The outside was greyish brown and it did not look like it had been grilled. I would never eat in this restaurant again.
Great place, great service. Really enjoyed my food here. Very fine balance between quality and price, followed by glass of prosecco. Team is doing everything they can to provide what we asked for. Its rare to see that in current situation
Nice meal with friends in booth. Great ambiance and service.
I had my hen do here! The staff was very attentive and accommodating to our needs. We also had a private room to ourselves.Food was great too.Although, I have to ask for a less fatty pork belly as mine was very fatty( my friends pork belly has lesser fat). But overall, the food was delish
I had a lunch there. I was disappointed..The half chicken took a while to come. It tasted dry and tasteless. The sauce did not go with the chicken. There is not even some salad leaves or veg on the side for the price of 15 pounds. I do not think I will go back.
2.5 hours after we got there I had to leave without having had dessert served. We had already mentioned the time when it took an hour after our booked time for our first drink to arrive. All had to be paid for in advance as we were a group but I can see why since they didnt do anything until we specifically asked for it.White wine was left on the table warm. meals didnt come and people resorted to eating with 2 forks because a request for a replacement knife was assumed to take too long.picture is of one of our parties meal 25 mins after the rest had arrived. It did eventually turn up missing the sauce. We had a good time because we were always going to, a late meal doesnt stop it but it doesnt help. We just had to laugh about the service and the fact an advance bill meant we had to comit to 10% tip in advance! our organiser took some stick and we are going to ask what it was for and for it to be refunded.
