Brown's River Falls - Tourist attraction in Courtenay, Canada
Abstieg am Seil, das Wasser ist kristallklar und kalt
A locals paradise. Loved it.
This was so beautiful! A relatively short hike from the road, with a rope to help you down the street part at the end. The falls were gorgeous, the rock formations fascinating, the swimming so much fun!
Pour des moments agréables et conviviaux, tout en respectant les lieux.... Un seul mot formidable...
Trail closed
Nice little place
This was a wonderful way to spend some quality time with family. Beautiful.
Was glad to check it out!
Its a cool little path to get there but kind of hard to find. This time I went the water flow was really strong and it was cool to see, but I went in July and could walk around near the top of the waterfall and that was fun to do too. You do have to climb down a steep hill using ropes to be able to see the waterfalls
It was a little bit hard to find the right trail to the falls. There is no parking lot. The vehicle can be parked on the side of the road. Its a beautiful location.
Hidden gem !Doesnt have a parking space
The falls itself is very beautiful. There’s two within short distances from each other. The trail to the falls is something else. Don’t go right after heavy rain or be prepared to get really muddy. That rope descend to the side of the falls is no joke. Only for able bodied people.
A great place to go anytime of the year, but parking is a bit sketchy along Piercy
What a gem! Google map might send you near by but not to the right entrance. Water is clear, a bit cooler compared with others rivers in the area, spectacular rocks shapes
Very beautiful place and warm water a little challenging to get there 😀
Great place for swimming
Nice falls
Short hike to some great little falls. Beautiful scenery and some good spots to swim
I like going in the waterfall. However! Its wet.
Great spot for a swim, about 10 minute trail walk.
Amazing walk, nice ropes to get you down to the river. Beautiful views at each stop
Well worth finding the proper way to get here. Short walk to the falls. Super cool natural formations in the rock. Some could be personal soaking tub the holes are that deep in some areas. Lots of trails to get down to falls we bet this is a popular time in the hot days of summer, lots of clean lines to jump cliffs into deep water. Amazing little area to explore worth the time for sure. Ropes were installed to make way up/down easier. Follow power line to unsigned trail on right. Take trail we opted to go left then right to get to falls then walked up stream to another trail that brought us back to same trail we came in on. Worth the short hike.
Absolutely beautiful!!! The kids had a blast jumping off the rocks into the water. Definitely 1 of my top 10 swimming holes of the comox valley.
Great spot to relax and cool off!
Highly recommended. Trails are not marked. Park near gate under 3 sets of high voltage powerlines and walk underneath them for about 800m meters then turn right down a little trail then left when you get to river. Need to use ropes to climb down steep bank.
Bit of a hike but its nice :glad to have found a decent river again
Great place to spend time easy to get to caution you will need to climb down a couple of steep hills but there are robes to help.
Great spot to for a short hike. Cant wait to go in the summer when the water is warm enough for a swim.
Beautiful
Hard to reach in fall season
A quiet trail to spectacular falls
Wow,What an amazing place to visit.Weather you come for a swim or just to marvel at the rock formations and pot holes its definitely a place to be seen....If you come from the one side (where they are starting to lay out plans to build a subdivision in 2018there is also a huge frisbee golf course that has been set up in the woods.
Favorite hike in the valley. Bring a scuba mask.
This was my favorite of the falls we stopped at. The natural pools at the bottom of the falls were deep enough to swim in and jump off the top of you dare. The water temperature was perfect. Kids, dogs and people of all age can enjoy this beautiful stop if you dare to hike the steep terrain to get to it.
Do not go here !Seriously ! Stay away !There is nothing magical and stunningly beautiful here! The pools are not perfect for kids to swim in, and the water temperature is not perfect on a hot summer day.( If you already know how amazing this place is, do NOT tell your friends and family.... 😄)
Just dont ask me how to get there 😜
It ok. Ive seen better.
Browns River Falls is one of my personal favorite swimming holes. Its usually not that busy, has a very nice swimming hole that you can jump into from the cliff. There are two ways of getting down to the falls, one is a short walk with a small climb down a steep path, with a rope in place for assistance. The other way is somewhere off of Duncan Bay Main, but I have never gone that way.
Lovely spot, marginal path with ropes leading down steep river bank.
Not the easiest to find but sure is beautiful
Check this place out. I went recently got my first time & plenty of water coming down falls. I had a tough time finding path but fairly straight forward once you find the parking area infront of yellow gate under electric lines.. Definitely worth the visit you can walk there within 10 minutes. Path is a little muddy in one or 2 places & isnt bikeable. Falls are wide & kinda sort but still so spectacular cause of how wide & deep some swimming holes are. Perfect for a summer chill spot or winter fall spring hike.
Just another local Gem to the Comox Valley.
Steep hill to get to the river on one side but someone has put a rope so be careful and all is good
Almost impossible to find and access is all on private property.
Its a small river and Falls but picturesque with a mix of shade and sun on hot days. With Stotan Falls becoming paid use in 2017 - Browns River Falls became much more busy though.
Beautiful scenery
Beautiful scenery and an enjoyable way to spend the day!
Beautiful river with sculpted rock bed. Large boulders erode out of the main bed. The holes which remain are then sculpted and smoothed by the relentless water flow. This creates a surreal landscape of cavities one can walk over during low flow seasons such as July-Aug. Upstream is a popular swimming hole (note, clothing optional!).
