819 Conti St, New Orleans, LA 70112, United States, New Orleans
Historic, circa-1920 fine-dining spot for high-end Creole fare, plus an intimate courtyard.
Great NOLA experience! Food was delicious. Staff was warm and welcoming. The live music was awesome and even came to our table and took suggestions. Highly recommend!
We had a big area in one of the back rooms for a group of 18 for brunch. The band was so much fun and serenaded us. It was great that not everyone had to do bottomless drinks if they didnt want to. Food was delicious, and they were easy to work with in setting everything up, giving us flexible options if we wanted to order off the menu or plan ahead with private dining setup. We chose to order off the menu and it went great. Highly recommend!
Everything down to the most miniscule detail was absolutely perfect. Our servers were amazing, and took care of us in a way I have rarely been taken care of. It was our final stop of a vacation Ive waited for for most of my life. In addition to being our final stop it was probably the best. Not only would I recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans, I would recommend it as a trip in and of itself. Thank you so much to all the staff who made the experience amazing Ill never forget it, Thank You So Very Much!
This place was good. Gorgeous interior, very cute brunch spot. Food is ok, could be better for the price. Our server seemed to be overworked and had a negative attitude masked with strained politeness, but the manager was AMAZING. He stepped in and met our requests and answered all questions, he was great.
Great jazz brunch. I ordered the Prix Fixe with duck and alligator sausage gumbo and the Peach Pain Perdu. Also tried the Brandy Milk Punch at the servers recommendation and liked it. The jazz trio walked the floor and played special requests for each table the day we went.
Great place for brunch! Went here and had the Blackened Fish of the day; cooked to perfection, seasoned beautifully, and didnt make my stomach hurt from all the black pepper! The rest of family had said that their dishes were great and from my taste tests, they definitely were. The service was great and loved the brunch jazz. WILL come again!
Excellent. Delicious food and beautifully presented, appealing atmosphere, and clean premises, helpful staff, and brilliant service.
Super cool New Orleans brunch. A three man trio who play some jazz for ambiance during brunch. Bottomless mimosas are where it’s at.Highly recommend.
Lighting is dim so I didnt want to use flash for my pics sorry for that 🤣🤣 Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and were very kind. This is more of a formal restaurant and we were so dressed like tourists, we thought this would negatively affect our visit but it didnt. The staff made us feel at home and gave us such delicious food and drinks. Every bite is like biting into a slice of heaven. I am so happy we stopped here. Thank you staff for your amazing service!!
Initially we were a bit upset because we had reservations for brunch and it took a half hour to sit our party. But the amazing servers and food made up for it. The brunch menu was so amazing. I loved my steak and eggs it was just the best. The appetizers all of them were amazing and that French toast makes me want to return just for another meal. Definitely get the bottomless the server def did a great job keeping the champagne poured to the top. Just have to learn to tilt the glass when pouring.
Great experience. Great wine selection and cocktails. We loved everything from drinks, apps, dinner and dessert. I had the bronzed fish which was phenomenal, also tried the filet mignon which was exceptional. The choice of dessert was great. They made the caramelized banana pudding at our table live … great for operational transparency!!! The live production enhanced the smell, flavor and ambiance. Loved it!!!
Very beautiful restaurant, great customer service and the food is amazing. Highly recommend anyone visiting New Orleans dine at this restaurant during your visit. The live band during brunch was a plus as well.
Food was okay, bottomless brunch was the most appealing thing. We had one server who was great but another who was awful. Literally was making faces at us. The place feels like youre dining at a plantation and was quite triggering to some members of my party. I would never go back.
We had an incredibly disappointing experience for my birthday dinner here. Our waiter was completely disinterested and It took over 30 minutes to get our drinks, and another hour plus after that to get our main courses. I don’t know what is going on here but they need to take a look at how they run things. Both of our fish dishes were also overly salted and completely dry. The glass of wine I received had gone bad, which I can’t recall ever happening anywhere I have been. The only reason I’m giving two stars and not one is because they took a couple of the entrées off the bill and the maître d’ was friendly. With so many outstanding options in New Orleans I would give Broussard‘s a pass unfortunately
Lack of service!Had to ask multiple times for drinks. They refused to refill the bottomless mimosas after two drinks. after 30 minutes of waiting for a refill we were informed could only have it to-go. Highly recommend skipping this place $600.00 bill and receive better service at McDonald’s. If I could give zero stars I would.
Great experience! My wife and I are celebrating our honeymoon in New Orleans and decided to have a fancy dinner last night. Broussards did not disappoint. Megan, Mason and Noel did an amazing job making our dinner as wonderful as possible. The drinks were really good and the food was phenomenal. My wife had the Redfish which she claims was to die for and I had Filet Mignon Au Poivre which was juicy and the sauce was great! Definitely recommend for date nights and/or any celebrations.
Too bad its not possible to give 10 stars. We ended up here for brunch unwittingly, and what luck! I can honestly say that I do not believe I have EVER experienced customer service of this level. Ostensibly every other person working there stopped by several times to see if we needed anything, and did so with a warm, friendly rapport. Plus, the food was delightful but an afterthought compared to the awesome staff. THEN, a 3-piece zydeco band came trough and played a song for us by request which was absolutely charming. We will most certainly be back.
The manager Teal is effortless in making you feel welcome, he really went out of his way to chat us up and keep us engaged. Our server was standoffish and unpleasant sadly. The fried brussel sprouts were amazing! We absolutely love the seasonal menu, and the history of the restaurant adds to the ambience and charm.
Everything overall was relatively mediocre, however for the price I’m paying I don’t expect a watered down tequila sunrise complimented by a block of cream cheese on top of a soggy crust labeled as a “strawberry tart.” The waiter was a nice gentleman who assisted in dietary restricted instructions, but when it came to the cocktails and dessert it was a major letdown. I ordered a tequila sunrise as it is my drink of choice, and it was a watered down bitter mess. When it came time for dessert, my husband requested the strawberry tart, and someone who wasn’t even waiting on us came from the kitchen and handed us a bowl of fruit that wasn’t even ripe? Like what? When the tart finally did arrive after a twenty minute wait, we both tasted it. I’m sure if you enjoy Philadelphia strawberry cream cheese on top of a soggy crust you would have loved it. Apparently they can’t do any of the flambe desserts where we were seated, but why not inform us ahead of time or inform use before handing the dessert menus? I primarily attended this location for the bananas foster, and was left with some overly sweet, soggy, and gross cream cheese dessert. Our entrees were an absolute delight, but we wasted about forty dollars on drinks and desserts.
The ambience, food, and service was definitely 10 out of 10. We had a chance to meet Tio the manager. He made our dining experience personable. Our servers knew the menu well. We ordered bottomless mimosas, the Strawberry Praline Pain Perdue, and the Southern Fried Chicken & Waffles. Our food and drinks were simply amazing! We also was able to enjoy live jazz music.
Good stuff and the outside sitting is very nice. Waiters are kind and we struck up a convo with one. The desserts are great as well (we had this kind of pudding or something that I cant remember the name topped with graham crackers).
All around great experience. The staff was very friendly and pleasantly confident. The food was outstanding. It was perfect.
Friendly staff . Great service however the brunch menu not impressive. We were actually disappointed ordered 3 brunch specials and none were what we expected. Crawfish in the omelet was super small. It was super dry. No taste of brie. Will not be back for brunch. Never had a bad experience here at dinner .
What a wonderful ending to our time in New Orleans. The staff was warm and professional. Their food was outstanding! Including a picture of the bread pudding. Yum!
So 4 of us had the chicken and waffles.there really bout 20 in the party. 7 of us got the food. The others were still waiting for their food. We came for 12:30 food came about 2:00. First these waffles were over cooked. We were still trying to cut this dry over cooked chicken. They did not refill water or tea without us asking. Service was horrible. The tea was really good. Order that!! Grits were cold hard lumpy. Horrible. Only ate her shrimp. Steak and eggs; meat was seasoned well. But it was cold. Appetizer of truffle fries did not come out (misunderstanding that the fries was with the steak order). Two orders came out one before food and one with food. Then the waiter took it back because it was a mistake. Wow. $6 fries.
The service here is absolutely horrid, and Id be embarrassed if I were the owner of this establishment. We had reservations for April 15th at 7:30pm , as we were celebrating my best friends bachelorette party, and wanted to have a nice sit down dinner before touring the rest of the city. We chose not to order alcohol as we were going to be drinking throughout the night, and boy did that make the staff show their true colors. Firstly, there are two separate people tending to the tables, one just for drinks and one strictly for food. That made no sense to me. Secondly, we had to ask 3 separate people and wait over 45 minutes just to receive more bread (this would have only been our second helping). The bread did not come out until AFTER the entrees arrived. After not ordering alcoholic beverages, we also chose not to order appetizers due to feeling discriminated against. Our wait staff did not even glance in our direction a single time the rest of the evening. I ordered the Filet Mignon, asked for it to be cooked medium. Usually, at established steak houses (even places like Texas Roadhouse for crying out loud), they will ask you to cut into your steak to ensure it is cooked to your liking. No one asked, no one cared, they just set the entrees down and walked away. I cut into the steak, what do I see? Medium rare. At this point, it had been almost an hour since ordering, and I just wanted to eat and leave, whatever, Ill take the steak. A man wearing a suit and setting tables came around to ask how things were and made a very snarky, nasty comment to us. He approached us and said, "How are things, are they as good as the bread?" and proceeded to laugh in our faces. This tells me that they were talking behind our back, as we had not asked this man for anything yet; this was our first encounter with him. I would think it was a compliment that we liked the food from the beginning, but apparently that meant we were poor and undeserving of good, professional service because again, we did not order alcohol or appetizers. Let me also mention they were not busy, they only had between 4-6 tables on our dining area the entire time were there. Do NOT waste your money, you WILL be discriminated against and the staff will treat you terribly. I wish I could say the food made up for it, but overall, was completely lackluster. Ruined the entire experience for us.
Had a really lovely Saturday brunch here this weekend. They had a jazz band that went table to table, which made it feel very special. Food was really amazing- I loved the pain Perdu! It really was a highlight of our trip!
Overall Broussards was ok.The servers were very nice and polite, but seemed overloaded. This I think is responsible for the mix-ups that occured (lost track of our drink orders multiple times and in general were very slow). We were there for 3 hrs with many long (20+ minstimes where we were just waiting. In general they did not have a good cadence of taking orders and bringing food. The food quality was ok. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly, but my wifes duck was overcooked and the sauce for the red fish was pretty salty for our taste. The desserts were fabulous both the strawberry tart and bananas foster (the flames at the table for making the bananas foster was fun). Overall it was ok, but for the price, probably not worth it. I think they could address most issues with better organization and coordination and a few tweaks to the food.
Starting off with the bad…we arrived for a 1 pm reservation and didn’t get served food until 2:10. This place was half empty. Our server only came to our table twice - to give us our appetizer and the bill. After sitting for 45 minutes with no one checking in or refilling our drinks, we stopped the manager to ask where our food was. 25 minutes later the food finally came out but with no apology. When the server came back with the bill, no words. Complete silence. This is the worst dining experience I’ve had in the city, ever. The food (once servedand ambiance is nice. The three piece band is a nice touch.
Good place for some more upscale Cajun food. The service was very nice and the food was good. The flambé desserts are also quite a show - we had the banana foster (leave some space for that, its worth the show).
Perfectly fine, nothing to get excited about.Food was nice enough, lots of very loud Americans screaming all of the time.Service was excellent. The empire bar inside Broussards is much much nicer and highly recommended
Enjoyed a delicious and delightful dinner in the Prohibition room with a small group of 10. Kudos to the Chef & staff, including the bartenders downstairs beforehand - what a fabulous $5. happy hour cocktail menu too!
I wanted to rate this restaurant so much better... This is my family name from Louisiana, and decided to visit for my birthday. First off, i was shocked that they did not have bottle prices for wine at the table. Our beverage waiter greeted us by telling us how tired he was, and how much work his job is. Later he asked my friend if she had any drugs on her to help (ritalin or other). They were never were prompt on clearing our plates. My sister had a missing side dish, that when they brought it, had a main ingredient missing from it. My duck was overdone and very fatty on the top. The strawberry preset menu looked good, but we were disappointed that 1 of the two desserts were already sold out and they didnt offer another option. The strawberry cake was so dry it was sandpaper. We would have sent it back, but no one checked on our table all night. We did notice they took great cake of 5 or more tables, they just didnt care about ours. I had better donners under $20 than spending $200 at this restaurant. Manager blaintantly ignored our table while making her rounds. Overall very disappointed and shocked when i see so many good reviews for Broussards.
What can I say, if telling you all 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed brunch for a few hours filled with MANY cocktails, a three piece band that came to woo us, the wait staff who truly cared about any and all guests. So clean and gracious. Celebrated our friends bachelorette the BEST way possible here. Would ABSOLUTELY come back for more. The brandy milk punch is to die for. Appetizers were so incredibly thought out and executed perfectly. Wish the breading for the chicken on the waffles stuck a bit better and was a bit more crunchy. All in all top 5 places in NOLA for me to come back to.
Came here as a last minute brunch/lunch and were not aware of having to reserve a table, even though there were plenty ready for people who were showing up half an hour or an hour later. We got seated at the bar where we had two nice bartenders serve us. My sister got an omelette and myself a cheeseburger. The burger was huge, juicy (med rareand delicious. Her omelette didnt have much if any crawfish, but lots of mushroom, so she didnt finish it. We thought wed have to be dressed very nice, but for lunch/brunch nobody was, which was odd considering the decor. When it comes directly to what I ate and the service, I would say to go and order their cheese burger if you want something thats not seafood.
The service was great, and the drinks were too. Steak was very favorable. Steak was a little thin so be careful with how you ask for it to be cooked. The Josephine Benedict was very good but eat slowly its not a lot of food.
Great spot for brunch, spacious formal dining area, excellent formal service. The only downside is that it is a little expensive, but it is not a bad value. The staff will go out of their way to accommodate and requests you might have.
Delectable pork belly MM! Would come back for that. Also had the smoked duck leg. Both of these are their signature dishes - if signature dishes mean lots of sour and bitter sauces, then they nailed it. I personally was not a fan of how acidic the sauces were. It made for the duck to be difficult to eat.Otherwise, a great area and beautiful courtyard dining area. They don’t ask if you want to dine inside or outside, so let them know if you want to dine outside.
Nice facility, the food was good but not spectacular, especially for the price. We had the special Thanksgiving meal. The turtle soup was excellent. Wait staff was good but clearly overworked.
Our experience at Broussard’s was as elegant and elevated as a dinner on titanic. Chandeliers, pastel colored walls, and plenty of champagne. It’s amazing how they can make you feel like you’ve been transported back in time to get a taste of what fine dining in New Orleans would have been like in the early 1920’s.We decided to start off with ordering the bottomless mimosas. They were very strong but worth it! Unfortunately since they were strong for some, two people opted to just have one mimosa. Our waitress did not update our bill to reflect that.I ordered the steak and eggs which was absolutely amazing. I really loved the amount of seasoning! The cook was spot on, the perfect medium rare. I highly recommend this dish for steak lovers. The Napoleon Benedict that was ordered was also very good! The hollandaise sauce was so flavorful. We really liked the kick in the chicken and waffle dish! The chicken was fried well and still very juicy on the inside. The best part of the whole brunch experience was that there was a jazz band! Nothing beats a good jazz performance and they really outdid themselves! I would visit again and next time it would be for dinner.
1990s themed dinner was a blast. Great food. Great drinks. We always make Broussard’s one of our stops when we come to the city.
Well we had very high hopes for this restaurant we were very excited to get a reservation, because were were going to finally try banana foster dessert. Its a beautiful restaurant loved the ambiance. The waitresses were fantastic and the bread is wonderful. But thats were the buck stops. We ordered a Cesar salad but it was way to heavy on the dressing the anchovy taste was overwhelming. We ordered the oysters broussard they were insipid and soggy. My husband ordered the turtle soup he said it was ok. I did not try it.I ordered the veal with jumbo lump crab. My plate was luke warm when it arrived and it was not seasoned. I put some salt on it and it was ok at best. The lump crab as cold I though that they would maybe heat it up with the sauce but it was not left in the sauce enough time to warm up. It was not very good quality because it was full of little pieces of shell. My husband ordered the duck breast medium, it was over cooked. And the brussel sprouts were grossly salty and burned. The waitress was very nice she took the plate back to the kitchen, when they brought it back it was raw and the brussel sprouts were still burned. We were so dispapointed we just paid and left. The hole point of going to this restaurant was because we really really wanted to try banana foster. But we were so dispapointed we were afraid it would be awful too.Again the hostess and waitresses were fantastic. Its the kitchen that was awful.
No one was happy with their food. My food was cold and had to be sent back and I got my food when everyone was done eating. The risotto was bland. The lemon bur blanc on the veal was so so sour. I had just a few pieces of lump crab. My veal was tough, which I thought was impossible. The jam on the duck was thick. The scallops were small. The gumbo was just ok. Service was just ok but they were short staffed. They were nice though. We were seated after our reservation. We went to celebrate my birthday and I wish my birthday dinner had been better.
Great restaurant. The price was very fair and portions were really generous. Probably the best pork chop Ive ever had.
Absolutely the best place on Nola to eat for a laid back wonderful dinner or for brunch. Ashley, Jonathan, Stephen, and Megan are the best servers and will not leave you wanting for anything. 10/10 will be back.
The food is amazing. They have live music customer service is on point they need a 10 star. I had a great experience this was my first time in Louisiana and I will go here a thousand more times. And the fact that I do not eat pork they still have options that I can eat!!!
Mocktails were heavy on the sugar.Food was served timely and tasted fresh.Server:They have an interesting system, with a "captain", a Main, and a walker. In theory could be helpful, however we were often left with empty glasses or unanswered questions and were unsure who did what. But all were very pleasent!Cleanliness/environmentCourtyard was quiet and well lit - very much a soothing and calm atmosphere.
So this is definitely the place you want to go for beautiful indoor / ourdoor atmosphere! Very professional hard working staff, and great bartenders. The specialty drinks are spot on. The "MR.BIG BLUES" cocktail is highly recommended by my wife. She says "ladies, you will love it." If your looking for an upscale bar with fresh ingredients this place is for you..So, about the food, neither one of us cared for the "chicken alligator sausage gumbo starter." The flavor was absolutely fine, there just wasnt much in it, really brothy. The starters /apps are portioned small for the price, but tasty. The crawfish tails were very good. My wife had the eggs benedict and liked it alot. After evaluating all the delicious choices I finally settle on the "Broussards Burger" and I am so glad I did. If you love a tender n juicy burger with all the timmings, and BACON, then this burger is for you. The burger came with carmelized onions, tomato jam all melted together with cheese in a fabulous deliciousness that you really have to experience for yourself to appreciate! (The bacon jam was off the hook good)! I would get that again. Anyway, bring a friend and come check this place out. Come causual or dress to impress. Youll be glad you did.
Have been there on New year eve, the staff was awesome, ambience was good and the food was amazing. Being a vegetarian I was skeptical for food but my server told me that she will ask the chef to prepare something, so she got vegetarian pasta for me and I would say it was the best. Also my husband and his friends ordered seafood which they told was amazing too. If you are looking for a fine dining restaurant, I would say it’s a go to place
Celebrated a friends 25 anniversary and had a great time and a great meal. The oyster/bacon appetizer was incredible. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of it. Ask for Lionel, he will take care of you.
