Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery - Art gallery in Broken Hill, Australia
It may not be a large space but it has lovely light and high ceilings, showing the works off to great advantage. The little shop is a treasure too.
Beautiful old building used to display some work. Very good photo display
Very disappointing. More like a quirky, inner city gallery than a regional gallery. A glorious building, but the art wasnt reflective of the region and its artists work.
Exceptional regional art gallery. Beautiful space. The indigenous work was of a remarkable quality. Staff were warm and friendly and caring.
Dissappointing.... very little art to see
We went there today and found it has been closed since September until further notice big disappointment
A great Council regional art gallery with work by some of the great outback artists, indigenous artists & “Brushmen from the Bush”. Entry is free but you are encouraged to make a donation. The shop has some very nice souvenirs too.
This is a great starting point to explore Broken Hill visual arts.

Outstanding. Such a range of work from different eras. Well curated. Would visit again.
Good variety of artwork on display and free entry. Great place to while away an hour in air conditioned comfort, or if winter warm up a tad.
The beautiful art here tells the story of the local people in the outback. They also sell some art by local artists. Note during COVID times you have to book a session to view the gallery.
Local artists including Pro Hart and Jack Absalom as well as community works. Worth a visit.
It’s a good point for start the town heritage street tour. After a half day walk, go inside the gallery can get more deeply to understand the town.
Fantastic regional gallery, with quality art by MacFarlane, Absolom and Pro Hart to name a few.
We went to a Wedding a nice place to hold the ceremony on a hot day.
Very good regional gallery in iconic Broken Hill with some strong representations from the well known Brushmen of the Bush.
Not only is the building a piece of Broken Hills history and worth stepping inside of on its own merits, taking in the entire gallery is very much worth your time. Currently with visiting displays from Jim Paterson, Clinton Kemp and Blake Griffiths, which were as interesting as they are diverse, it was the homegrown items on display which were my favourite. With works from Pro Hart, Eric Minchin and Jack Absalom to name drop a few, youll be able to soak up some of the rich art history of the region.
Fantastic gallery in an old large building. The building itself is worth the visit. The artwork is interesting and thought provoking. Gold coin donation entry.
