Broadwater Hot Springs & Fitness - Swimming pool in Helena, United States
We got discounted entry due to temperatures being less then ideal, which was fantastic, but it was not a very user friendly experience for a first timer. The website talks about a membership being required, which the front desk said hadnt been true in a while. We asked about the locker rooms, but didnt get much more information than that. A lot of people carried their stuff (backpacks etcaround the poolside, and you need to keep your wallet on you if you want to order poolside drinks. There was no information about towels and it turns out they did not have them to rent everyone brought their own. Oops! I would have really appreciated some kind of information on which pool was which to help me navigate the experience.
The pool was nice but one person from the staff was very rude and short with us when we informed her we already paid the yearly membership. She informed us it was previous staff error and had to pay new membership fee. I asked for her name to call the management she informed me that she was not going to provide me her name.Unfortunately this will be the last time me and my family will be visiting this establishment.
For the price it was exactly what we needed. Visiting multiple spas/soaks/thermal spas this one exceeds expectations! Not only that the drinks and food served were all amazing.
Great outdoor pools, different pools for different temps, plus a cold plunge. Made for a super relaxing afternoon on a beautiful day. We also enjoyed the best fish and chips Ive ever had. Well be back.
This was my first time here and the wife and I absolutely loved it. They have multiple pools with different water temperatures to enjoy. Enjoyed drinks by the pool side, and just relaxed to take everything in. The staff was very pleasant and informative. Will definitely return.
The pools were clean and multiple temperature pools. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was that you cant bring in your own water bottle.
They charge $20 a person even if you’re not going to go in the pool. Drove from Great Falls for my nephews birthday with my 1 month old and we had to pay $20 for my 1 month old and $20 for me ($40 totaljust to get in as my son is to small to go swimming.
Great place to enjoy a beverage and the food is amazing! Such a beautiful place! We will be back to spend more time here.
There are multiple hot pools of different temperatures. Very well kept and a beautiful place to go sit in healing Hot springs. Very lovely.
First time there, it was fantastic!!! Super clean establishment, good food, more importantly the mineral springs. Different temperatures for each pool. It was GREAT. You gotta go and experience it..
I always love going here! Great time, but felt like we got hustled with the new policy. Never have had hot spring facilities charge $5 for a yearly membership...even after Covid. Cost to get in is average but I could see it be costly for a family. Cant bring in your own drinking water, must pay for their bottle water...which is a hustle. Cocktails are good but a tad over priced for what they are. Soaking water is AMAZING, chlorinated so ya know it isnt fresh every day like at Chico but still feels great. Great job on the remodeling, outside water should be allowed at a workout facility tho. Only 4 stars cause I dont appreciate the hustle.
Several pools with different temps. Nice cool plunge as well. Drinks brought to you poolside and the facilities are very clean.
Always kind and courteous when we go here. The pools are clean and it’s a great place to go out with the whole family!
A great place to relax. Pools are different temperatures so you can find the one you like, from just under a shrimp boil temperature, to where is the snow they use on this one come from in July??? You can choose to be in sun or shade also. A bar and restaurant, gym and fitness areas as well as steam room. Just a great casual atmosphere where the whole family can enjoy a day or evening.
Decided to try this place out with family who came to visit from another state. If youve never been, be warned, it costs an extra $5 per person, on top of the $15 per person entry fee, for a membership even if you will never come again because youre from out of state. When asked why a membership was required, they gave me the bogus reason that it had to do with tracking for covid. But thats not even the most ridiculous part. We had to pay full price to get grandma and our newborn in, even when we told them neither would be getting into the water. Grandma, fine, but $20 for a baby who literally cannot get into the water?!! Just plain greedy in my opinion. Also the bottom of the pools were slimy...
Multiple different pools outside, full restaurant and drinks served to the pools!? Love. Having to buy a year pass to soak.. meh. It is cheap, but a pain. The pools close 15 minutes before posted closing time, you have to go into the sit down restaurant to eat, and serve times to the pool are SLOW is why I’m giving 4 stars. Decent locker rooms, solid store out front, gorgeous views, and live music were nice though! Definitely will be coming back.
I personally wouldnt eat there again. I ordered the boneless wings. They werent even dark meat it was cut up fried chicken breast. So no flavor. My lady ordered the street tacos, they need to change the name to cayenne tacos. They had no flavor except straight cayenne pepper. And I dont mind spice, but Id like to actually taste the different flavors. She couldnt eat it so I tried it, Im not a professional chef, but I know how to cook, and know the difference between parts of a chicken. I might have got lucky with the chef they had, dont know, but for prices, and not being able to or wanting to finish any of it I wont risk it again.
Worried about going here again. Used to LOVE this place. Would spend the whole day there. But the last few times it has been so gross. NOT clean at all. That is huge. The place has really gone down hill. Its too bad.Reading the reviews and social media posts speaks volumes as well. The responses from owners or managers seem fairly snarky, and that rubs people the WRONG way. The reviews sure help to make my decisions.Come on Broadwater. Helena deserves better from you. This would be a great awesome place, and I would love tocome back, but I want to know and be guaranteed I AM NOT wasting time and money.
The pools at Broadwater were so chlorinated it made my skin and eyes burn. There’s no actual locks for the lockers in the changing room and the cash in my wallet was stolen while I was in the pools.
NOT set up for tourism. As a non-resident of Montana the annual pass is completely useless for a one time visit. The annual pass must first be purchased (reason - needed for “Montana health” but staff prompted me to “just put in any Montana address” before admission pass can be bought. The personal information needed to purchase the pass requires a Montana address and their system cannot proceed without this. Towels for purchase only.
An amazing spot! I pulled in on a Sunday afternoon to kill a few hours after a week of hiking everyday and my legs were shot. Cost $20 to get in, a one time $5 fee for a “membership” then $15 a visit. Lots of space in the pools and awesome to have hot tubs right next to a cold plunge.Service was amazing - Molly and Noah (I think it was Noah?were totally charming and on top of their game. Food was yummy - I liked that they offered grilled as well as friend chicken dishes, and beer was cold and delivered fast! A great place to hang out. I’m in Helena for a week and excited to go back for another visit!
Awesome spot. Very friendly staff. Well maintained facilities. We went two night in a row and had a great soak and some good local beers. The different pools and Temps were absolutely perfect to hit that sweet spot when you got to hot or cold. The waitress service at that upper pool was AMAZING. She was an absolute machine. I mean shed take half the pools order in minutes and have 20 beers on a tray back at the pool in what felt like a blink of an eye. She definitely kept us all well libated. Absolute wonder hot spring pools and service!
Had a great time visiting Helena Hot Springs last week!Come back every year and always look forward to relaxing in the warm water ! Thank you!😍
What a great place! I called ahead to confirm all the pools were open. The place is extremely clean, and the staff there was so friendly. It looks like it was recently built and is maintained very well. They have a nice water bottle refill station right by the sauna. The sauna was great, loved the variety, temperature and sizes of the various pools. They have a standard swimming pool there too.The food was good quality, and they have a variety of drinks. I wish they had more healthy options, like blended veggie drinks, but they do have salads. It was very easy to open a tab and enjoy drinks by the pool. The locker rooms were regularly cleaned as well.
Broadwater is nice… enough. The pools are enjoyable and the ambiance is great even though you’re close to the highway. My two biggest complaints: no outside drinks, I want to be able to bring in water bottle so I can fill it with water and please add lockers with set-your-own combos. The hottest pool was nice but for those that want a few degrees more there’s nothing. I will be back to check out the fitness center and other amenities.
Super nice facilities but the big pool was closed and the pool that was open wasnt hot, it was warm. Not sure whats going on but kinda seemed like the owner doesnt care.
Best hot springs in western MT. No Quinns snootiness, no need to stay in an overpriced Fairmont room to be able to use the pool, no Symes bacteria infestation, no Lolo or Jerry Johnson scary derelicts, but clean friendly, family oriented fun plus bar and grill. Really enjoyable.
Gross pools overcrowd poor service and they charge full price for a 4 month old. Even after we called and ask if our baby was full price they said no shes free.
Unfortunately, the price to soak here is outrageous, and they require a membership just to soak once. So it ends up being $20 for one person, especially if you bring someone from out of town it is even more outrageous for them to have to buy a membership . The water was dirty, there was no place to put things, other than the ground. The locker rooms were dirty, and there were tvs blaring outside when you just want to relax and soak. Hugely disappointed by the beautiful remodel being incongruent with the service and environment.
Nothing was open besides one pool. We paid 45 $ for my 3 year old and my fiance and I. And we got LITERALLY 10 minutes in the pool and noone notified us all hot tubs were completely closed. Absolute rip off
Ok facility, the water isn’t hot at all, same temperature in every pool, just above body temperature.I’d give this place 2 more stars if you weren’t CONSTANTLY floating in a pool of dead bugs. I’ve been in natural springs that are totally not maintained that were cleaner then this. Also they don’t allow you to bring water bottles so I guess bring cups to fill at the fountain. Since the bar closes and there’s no way to get drinks. The staff was at least somewhat friendly.
Very nice setting. Modern new facilities for a hot springs with a long rich history. We had a good soak.
Multiple pools closed down. Difficult membership program online. Like we need another membership. Bit it was pretty clean and theres. Beer
We went to soak today and all the pools were terribly dirty. The water was very murky with a lot of black pieces of something floating in it. The sides and bottoms of all the pools were very slimy, I did not feel comfortable walking on it, so sat on the bench mostly. They really need to drain/ clean it more often.
Nice place! But Its apparent that they’re more concerned with monetary gain than the security and safety/contentment of customers. You have to buy a lock and the floors aren’t matted, very slippery. Not allowed to bring a personal water in. Steam room doesnt have a hose to spray off benches and thermostat to make steam nor does it have eucalyptus or tea tree oil. Pools are alright but extremely dirty and steam room/sauna are nice when they kick off, otherwise it was slightly underwhelming and overpriced for the content.
My wife and I went for appetizers. She got the chili and salad. It was a lot of food for the price. It was nice to experience the improved pools on the lower end. Looking forwrd to coming back.
Pools are great but the locker rooms leave a lot to be desired. As a Non-Member I was required to pay a membership fee of $5 that is good for one year. Plus $15 fee. That is steep especially as someone who has a family and purchased several hundred dollars worth of food and beverages. At least make the pass good for a discount to the restaurant or have your pass good for 24 hours.
I was very impressed with the mature remodel, after growing up coming here as a child often. The goal is to go to hot springs as much as possible. After experiencing the new remodel... it is not the comfortable relaxing spa vibe hot springs are intended for. Broadwater is one 10 person hot TUB and many large warm pools. If you come at odd day hours, get ready to be splashed by unsupervised children of all ages. If you come at night, be ready to get kicked out 20 minutes early after being piled in with obnoxious drunks. It is much too expensive for the discomforts and there is always something that happens to have discomfort. Hope they can get it together at some point because hot springs are just so special to me.
My boyfriend and I love Broadwater for date night. The pools are kept pretty clean, and it is a festive fun environment, especially with live music on Tuesdays! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes the medium pools are downright cold (not fun when its 20° out and your partner doesnt like the hotter ones). Otherwise an excellent experience.
Great place to enjoy a soak. There are two hot pools, and two a little cooler for lingering. Also cold pools if you overheat or like the health aspect. Theres a bar and grill for food on the patio or inside if its cold, but you can drink your adult beverage or soda while you soak, which is sweet. Great place for relaxing or happy hour.
My family and I have always enjoyed the Broadwater. We were disappointed when they took out the 4+ foot lap pool. Many folks used that pool to rehabilitate body parts after surgery. I do enjoy the new Springs pool, but you can not exercise in it. Now, the large recreational pool seems to either be closed or TOO cold to use - all the time. I joined Broadwater to use the cooler, large pool for exercise. Very sad & disappointed.
Great experience. Loved soaking in the various pools with the kiddos. However, $20 a person is a steep. Also, and biggest turn off for me were the locker rooms. Dirty, and carpet throughout most of them. It smelled moldy and in most places was soaking wet. Despite that, Im sure Ill go again.
Absolutely loved this hot spring! You can drink beer in the pools and its so relaxing. They have separate pools for the kids that are within site of the adult areas so the parents can relax and still keep an eye out. All the staff were super friendly and was all around a great experience.
As a visitor we had to sign up for membership to gain access thats good for a year. I would recommend this place if you havent been.
Best Chicken Tenders I have ever experienced in 43 years of life.- French Fries were amazing; I would rate in my Top 5 of fries ever tasted.- Our Fish tacos were full of flavor and exceptional.- The Hot Spring atmosphere was great, our soaks were enjoyed by all.- Staff here is very friendly.- Highly recommended 👌
Perfect place to be with your family or even alone to get some drinks and having a good time.I was here with my sons and we had a real nice day here. It was totally cold outside and the mix of the air coldness and the hot water was a great experience. I will definitely come back to this nice place. The beer and eating offers are good - my kids a pizza which was yummy.....
I first came here 30 yrs ago!!!! 1991-92! This place has become amazing. Although I missed the diving board and the slide the feel here was relaxing!!
I had to wait for at least 40 minutes to get in after paying $5 per person for membership and $15 per person even for little kids. And the hot springs feels and smells like heated water with bleach added. Not recommended at all
We did swimming on a Thursday afternoon in Feb. taking advantage of toddlers swimming free. Nice pool, only the one big pool/hot pool were open by the restaurant. They are building a new indoor pool and another outside pool areas that were not open. Nice dressing room, clean. Wait service at the pool for people who wanted drinks or food. Plenty of room, with a bench all along the edge. An island in the middle my kids loved walking around.
Very welcoming! The various pools were so pleasant, especially the soaker. Staff were very nice, knowledgeable and professional. Excellent selection of microbrews and a respectable menu. Dine outdoors if you can - the sound inside is miserably high because there are no sound absorbing panels. Really too bad, because the interior is so appealing.
