Britannia Study Hotel in Brighton

Pretty average to be honest, good location and rooms were clean but not much spark to the hotel. Cafe was out of order so we were offered a cold breakfast in a bag brought to our room. We declined but saw others outside their rooms and just looks like you get a piece of fruit and a small croissant. Staff member was friendly on reception.It was just a place to lay our head so did the job

Great hotel with nice rooms and staff. Location is also great, very close to the city center. The only problem was Wi-Fi that was quite slow or completely out of service.

Terrible service, needed to change booking and they were absolutely no help. Dont stay here.

Britannia Study Hotel is the better kind of budget hotel. Don’t expect anything too fancy, but what they do offer is great value for money. The location is great. Rooms are spacious and have a desk to work on. Beds are comfortable, even if a tad short for a tall person. A decent breakfast is included, and the rooms even feature a small fridge.My main gripe is that both times I tried to shower it took a solid 5 minutes before the temperature would become anywhere near acceptable and even then it would only very slowly become hotter. If not for this issue, I would have probably given 5 stars.

Much appreciated last minute find after a horrific ordeal at another Brighton "hotel".

After a shocking incident with a manager called Emma and her apparent daughter who works there as well and is as nasty as she is, a very upset member of staff showed me evidence and told stories which were horrifying, including incidences of bullying by this manager toward other staff, and the constant mistreatment of guests and workers not being paid.I will be taking this further, as I am utterly disgusted by this person and her daughters behaviour.I would expect the hotel to take pride in its staff and guests alike and not to be treated so disgracefully. I was confused by the name of the hotel at first, but given the incidences I have written about, maybe they need to "study" some RESPECTI would never recommend a place like this where management staff bully other staff and treat its guests so terribly.Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.I am appalled.

Came back to the hotel room, filled with our belongings, after lunch in Brighton. As we arrived at our room, a random couple was leaving it.Turns out that the hotel screwed up our check in and our room was assigned to someone else. We managed to keep our room (the one filled with all our clothes, valuables, and extra moneyand the other couple was given a different one.No compensation, no way of assuring this wouldn’t happen again. I feel scared sleeping here as I don’t know if anyone else will just walk in.

Like most of the respectable older ladies of Brighton who are representatives from a time long past, you can see that in their prime, these buildings were really something special.Today, its very much a case of Fur coat and no knickers. Patchwork internal renovations look good but just call more attention to the unloved corners.

Really clean and tidy hotel, friendly staff and decent rooms. Could have done with air con rather than fans in the heatwave in the rooms, but not the end of the world. Breakfast was good enough, not amazing quality but you get what you pay for. Will be staying again next time Im in Brighton

Lovely hotel! Rooms were nice and spacious for two of us. Quiet roads around. Generally really clean room and bathroom. There was mold in the coffee machine which should be looked into! Breakfast was okay could be more of a variety of fruit not just tinned! Definitely would come again!

Nice staff, building could use a lick of paint and the rooms where very warm but they did supply a fan which realy helped.

Clean comfy rooms with coffee machine, mini fridge and safe.Great location ose to all attractions and 5 min walk to the sea.I would stay again and recommend.

One of the best hotels Ive stayed in at Brighton! Room was spacious, staff all friendly and helpful. Mini fridge and pod machine in room. The hotel was clean and quiet and the shower was lovley and hot and didnt lose pressure.The bed was comfy and pillows were thick. There was a heater and a fan so you could adjust room temperature.Plus, the breakfast was included.Ive stayed in the higher end hotels in Brighton and paid double the price and didnt get that level of comfort.Highly recommend and will definitely return.

The room is clean, location is good, reception attentive and 24 hours manned. Hotel entrance secured. Only thing I would pick on is no mini bar and no kettle to make tea. Breakfast was included for my booking though.

You got to have really low standards to give this place high rates. Just walking from door to the bed our feets got dark of dirts. No slippers, no toothbrush, no toothpaste. On the second day we requested housekeeping. Only bed was made and new towels were placed there. Nothing were refilled. Cups and spoons were left there dirty.The Only good things about this place would be location and staff. Good location and friendly and polite staff.

Housekeeping staff were being very loud and playing music when I was trying to sleep and had the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. Hotel itself was very nice though, very clean and decent breakfast so I would probably come back here. Reception staff were friendly too

You know, it was clean, the bed was comfy, the breakfast was buffet style, varied and tasty. But there was security on the door and the door was always locked so you couldnt just pop in and out, or at least I felt we couldnt. We had to be buzzed in every time. The receptionists were more annoyed with us than anything when we checked in, like we disturbed them from whatever they were doing on their computer. There was no one in the lobby and the place was unbelievably quiet for a city centre hotel. The hotel room was definitely designed by a man, no feminine features, no curtains, no kettle, only a coffee machine with pods, and not enough mirrors, I mean no mirror near any plug outlet so I dried my hair at the door while the nearest mirror was on the far wall. My husband also has a cpap machine and there were no plugs on his side of the bed for this, we had to run the cable behind the pillows, and no plugs for our phones at the bedside. The shower was hot when you got in but turned freezing cold a few times while I was showering. The first morning the breakfast room was empty, this room is literally a room with basic chairs and tables. The toaster and yogurts etc were against a wall on the same tables. Im commenting on this because it was just so basic, no niceties in it at all. There was a wide selection of teas, green tea, Earl Grey, etc, but no regular breakfast tea, and none in the room so I was gumming for an ordinary cup of tea and asked the girl, have you got any regular tea, and I swear, because this has stayed with me, she pursed her lips and said, hmm, the jar at the front with the tongs, and then gave this told-you-so grimace when I spotted it. It was such a rude thing. Everyone working there has an attitude. Except the housekeeping staff, they would smile and say good morning, lovely to see you, have a lovely day. So look, I wont be staying here again.

Great value, centrally located, super clean hotel in Brighton. 15 Mon walk from the train station.Excellent breakfast included. Professional, hard working team. I stayed Christmas 2021.

Stayed 5 nights, no housekeeping for 4/ 5 nights and thenonly half done. Had to ask for towels etc from reception more than once.cold water for shower. Indifference to customer service. Housekeeping arrived to clean as I was checking out!! Shambles.

Staff very rude and racist. Visited my mate and on my way out. There was a chuddy blond staff saw me at the corridor and yelled at me immediately at the first sight "you dont belong here" i was shocked and clueless as i did nothing wrong. I replied "i got lost and looking for the exit and she just ignored me and walked away. Crazy!

Rooms are comfortable and functional but whole check in an entrance area is just simply threatening. Constant people jumping in behind you when you use swipe to card to come in. Similarly corridors and lift a constant stream of yoof

Clean room but bathroom had a very musty smell - fan wasn’t working. Breakfast was fine! Would stay again if the price was right.

Very good, but there are serious flaws that do not make up for the daily price. For example, receptionists are not bilingual, despite being a hotel dedicated to foreign students. There is no refrigeration or air conditioning in the rooms, which makes summer nights uncomfortable. Also, breakfast is very expensive

Unpleasant experience, room unclean and experience made worse by staff denying items left behind in the room were there less than 24 hours after checking out. Staff incredibly rude and hung up the phone when calling to enquire about missing property.

Stayed only a night but It was good, for the price you pay it’s a great deal. Very clean and staff very helpful. We were able to leave our bags with them the day we were leaving so we could have a look around the city with the bags with us. Would definitely come back.

Its a nice looking hotel in a good location but during my stay, the staff let themselves down. Began with some confusion over what rooms were available when I spoke to them on the phone and in person, meaning I didnt get the type of room I wanted. Asked for a spare duvet to be brought to the room, and they left it in the packaging with the duvet cover next to it. Also the room wasnt particularly clean with some hair left in one of the corners. Not what Id expect for over £80 a night.

Location is perfect, only 1 Street away from the seafront. Staff very friendly and very helpful, let us leave our suitcase there when we arrived early and let us leave it there when we wanted to spend a bit more time in Brighton before going back. Rooms very nice and comfortable. Breakfast nice range to choose from as well. Only negative was that the shower temperature would fluctuate from hot to cold briefly but thats only a little inconvenience. Overall a great stay.

Staff helpful, room clean, breakfast good. Acceptable for one night stop. Unfortunately the cold water was not working in the shower and the tv remote control was very dirty

Great value for money! I stayed here for two nights and faced no issues. It is situated in a great location, is on the high street and only a short walk from the beach. Due to Corona, breakfast which is included in the price of the room is delivered to your door at around 7am, it is a continental breakfast. I will be staying here again. Only downside is there is nowhere to park your car , I had to park at the regency square car park which is around a 4 minute walk away from the hotel

I stayed in room 214 and was booked for 4 days. A fantastic hotel which I can say as most of my away working hotel stays (and there are manyare not great. Clean and attractive rooms done in cleverly stylish simplicity with HD TV, WiFi, refrigerator, coffee machine, safe etc. A breakfast left outside your room (breakfast room closed due to CovidI had to leave too early to wait for it but it was there when I returned (juice, museli, muffin etcI was called away to another job and got a refund for the 2 nights I could not stay (I had a flexible booking please checkdesk manager was brilliant (guy with beard Tuesday 10th November 17.45, but all the staff I met were welcoming. To conclude, if you want a hotel at a budget price and offer a high standard of stay (more like 4 staryou should book this one.

Room was cosy, not a lot of room between the end of the bed and the wall and no air conditioning but there was a fan which was a godsend in the heat. Mini fridge in the wardrobe and coffee maker on the bed side table. TV and desk. Good size shower. Breakfast was plentiful and included. £64 for the night. Staff pleasant. Seagulls loud, bring ear protection if youre a light sleeper 😄

Very friendly and helpful staff and delicious breakfast. Rooms are clean and tidy and has everything you need. Good location, right in the middle of town and only a 5 minute walk to the beach! Would definitely stay here again.

Clean, tidy, functional. Electric heater quaint. Breakfast was hearty and decent. Croissants were fresh. Coffee very good. English breakfast hit the spot.Felt like upmarket student accommodation. Great location in town. If you want something romantic, better up your budget.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. My room had a safe for valuables, nice towels, and a kettle with condiments.(I didnt look for anything else.)Cooked breakfast was good quality, and there was a good range of other breakfast options.Staff were polite and friendly.

For the price this was a good hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean, breakfast included, very basic. The front faces a pretty busy road, but our room was on the side and was fine. Rooms have a TV. The staff were very friendly. If youre visiting Brighton on a budget this is a good choice.
