Queues to get in where long but you are advised of this when booking online to leave plenty of time. Zoo is looking a little dated but you can see all the animals are cared for. Shame it has to close. But hopefully they will reopen with a bigger premises.

Will be sad to see this place go. But happy that the animals will be moving to more open spaces like the the wild place project. Weve grown up at Bristol zoo, as Im sure many other people have. We took our kids yesterday, a Saturday during the summer holidays and week before closing and it was still easy to get around and even find food and drink with minimal queues. We had a great time.

The zoo itself was awesome, the exhibits were diverse and especially the aquarium and reptile house were really well scaped! Saw a lot of animals I havent seen before and caught some great animal behaviours. Sad to see it closing but looking forward to my first visit to Wild Place later this year! Deducted one star for it taking 30 minutes to park, but that wont be a problem when they move out of the city 💜

An average zoo. Bit overpriced at £48.50 for the three of us but on the plus side, lots of different types of animals and enclosures (even though I sadly couldn’t see half the animals). I am glad that they are relocating in 2 weeks to somewhere 20 mins from city centre as the zoo is in Clifton where everything is really expensive and it must have been so hard to keep the business going. I liked the seals even though they were asleep and the penguins were quite funny/entertaining. I didn’t like it when three keepers came and opened up all of the nests with the penguins in them to collect the eggs. Like I thought the penguins were allowed to raise their chicks in peace? But anyway, good luck to all the keepers and animals at their new location.

Family day out with my Mum, Sister and Niece. This was a Birthday present for my niece. Although we queued to get in, it was less than 10 minutes queuing. It was a very hot day, we took drinks and snacks with us. There is plenty of places to get food and drink but are on the expensive side. There is benches around to take a break. We were there for 4 hrs and didnt see everything, but we did get to see the Seals being fed. Its a nice day out with plenty to see

A brilliant day out! All sorts to see and do.A really well put together zoo with a huge variety of animals to impress you with. The animals are clearly well cared for and treated well by a passionate team of staff. The zoo also makes clear the conservation efforts that they are taking part in worldwide, which is great to see. The lions, the massive catfish and the red pandas were paticular highlights of ours! The zoo is easy to get to via the 8 bus, which leaves from right outside Bristol Temple Meads Station.Fully reccomend!

Lots to see and great for children, especially if not wanting/expecting to see large animals as dont have rhinos, elephants, giraffes, tigers etc. The lions and gorillas are the largest they have so manage small childrens expectations! They have a fantastic reptile house, butterfly garden and lots more.

We stopped off here for a few hours on the way home from Somerset. Although it was busy there was still enough room that everyone was able to see the animals. There is a good mixture of creatures and the zoo is not heavily focused on on particular exhibit. Butterfly house was amazing. I was told all the specimens were form Costa Rica. Could’ve spent hours in there. We didn’t eat at the hood hall here but it was very chaotic in there around lunch time. I would definitely return although they are moving locations soon. I hope the new site has room that the zoo can expand.

Great place and I am glad that I took the opportunity to visit Bristol Zoo Gardens before their closure on Saturday 3rd September 2022 - not been for 20 years or more - plenty of things to see and do and talks throughout the day - there is a list of these as you go inYou can either book in advance or turn up on the day - but worth checking before you doAccessible by bus number 8 (First busor 505 (Bristol Community transportthis bus comes from Long Ashton Park and Ride to Southmead Hospital - this service is pretty good and may be easier to park there rather than at the car park near the zooPlenty of educational things for kids, toilets, cafes, benches (you can take your own)The gardens have always been worth a visit

Cant wait for the Zoo to move to a larger location (at Wildplace Project). Its an amazing zoo, theres lots to see and the animals seem happy & well looked after. It can be expensive for larger families, but the annual membership is a good investment if you are planning to go 5 or more times in a year.

We had a lovely day! Only thing that was a bit of a disappointment, didn’t realise butterfly forest closed earlier than rest of park. I’m going to miss the Zoo and it’s history. My nephew loves it here and despite being 8yrs old he knows the route round and has learnt so much from his trips and his love for all animals is because of the Zoo.

We love Bristol Zoo, our son had a great day. We went early on a week day so it was nice and quiet. The staff & keepers are really friendly and told us fun facts about the animals when we saw them. Im sad its closing later this year so would recommend a visit before this happens.

Came here for my 4yo birthday and he loved it. Has lots to keep children entertained and a cool little water park which we spent a lot of time in. Wanted to see it before the zoo moved to North Bristol. A good day out 😊

Nice zoo, shame it’s closing soon. A bit on the small size but still plenty to see - we were here for around 90 mins. Staff were friendly and knowledgable. We appreciated the discounted ticket prices due to sustainable travel - would recommend checking the zoo’s website for the code.

Great selection of animals..very enjoyable experience. All the animals look happy and relaxed so Im certain theyre treated well. Great time to see the animals in their daily routine. I understand peoples reservations on animals on captivity but a lot of the animals here are in danger of extinction so Im glad to see their breeding program to help restore the population. Overall a wonderful experience

A lovely, medium sized zoo. Animals in good condition and seem contented. Lots of information dotted around for learning opportunities. Super helpful staff - all so cheerful and considerate! Food outlets are on the expensive side but you could just as easily take a picnic as there are outdoor and indoor seating areas.Seeing the eggs in the reptile house was a winner with my son after he had watched some YouTube videos about hatcheries. Daughter was completely engaged with the underwater sea lion viewing that had loads of space. Good disabled access throughout. Very wheelchair friendly. Staff were extremely understanding of my sons additional needs and catered for him really well. Good day out for old and young. We spent a total of 4 hours there. Arrive early because 11am onwards may be difficult for parking at peak times.

Great little zoo and little is all it is so no giraffes, elephants etc. Easier to walk around than some though such as Paignton! Like a motorway service station, expect overpriced food n drinks! Red Pandas are the stars of the show 😍

We had a fabulous day out, well most of it, the food in the restaurant was absolutely disgusting, overcooked burnt and cold, to the point we had to complain and got most of our money back but I wasnt going to let it spoil my birthday day out with all my family including my first grandchild, he just wanted to crawl about on the grass Bless. Its sad they have to close but I do understand, it was looking a little tired, its grown out of its shell and time to more on to bigger adventures. Im still going to give it 5 stars because it Was a lovely day despite the issues, it was a lovely nostalgic day 🥰 the staff were lovely too

Great little Zoo, doesn’t have quite the array of animal you’d find at other Zoos but had enough to keep my wife and I as well as our 2 year old very happy for 4-5 hours. Imagine you could spend 5-7 if weather was nice and saw everything on offer. Food in the The Hide Restaurant was very nice, though was on the expensive side for the portion size. If you like big portions I would either be prepared to spend £20 per head (for an adultor take a decent package lunch and use the saved money on the gift shop or on the various ice cream vendors around the place. Overall it was a great day out and would go again (though they’ll have moved by the time I’d be inclined to go again).

A very Small but quirky zoo, if youre a zoo lover its worth a visit. Really enjoyed the Tree Kangeroos and Bats. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the gift shop prices were reasonable for a zoo. You can see its age in places but I feel it really adds to its charm.

Highly recommended. My kids loved it. So much to watch. Restaurant facilities available onside. Few from many to watch as follows: Penguins, lion, gorillas, snakes, butterfly is must watch as it involves kids to spot rare blue morphos, flamingos, monkeys and .unhealthy much more. The only thing I was disappointed was parking charges which wasnt included in tickets fee and end up paying £5 for whole day.

Great visit to Bristol Zoo. We took a taxi from the centre of Bristol V cars costing about £8 at 11am on a Friday morning and took the direct bus back from the zoo to Temple meads station when we left. The pre booking on line in advance was very quick and simple. Remembering the zoo is the age it is it still is an amazing place to visit and does amazing work. I would highly recommend a visit. We stopped in the cafe for tea and cake and although I thought the prices were on the high side this was to be expected. The whole visit was very enjoyable.

First the negative, Im not a fan of large animals in small spaces... You can see they arent happy and it upsets me and my family seeing this ..That aside, there is a fairly large collection of animals and insects to see here, you can spend a good 4 hours here and not rush seeing things. Great for the kids ...I hope the move to new premises is an added bonus.

Spent a lovely drizzly day here in January. Lots of indoor rooms so you can still see animals undercover. The Reptile House was great. You need to spend a while looking for the tiny creatures but a thrill when you spy one. Elsewhere, there is a newish area called Gorilla Island . In Winter, you will see them relaxing indoors. Viewing was easy, but again , a weekday is best to avoid the crowds. There is a large eatery on site about half way to stop off for loo trip and refreshments.

Amazing zoo! The exhibits were great and the animals were easy to see. There was a lot of things to do with kids. We spent about 4 hours here with our 3 kids and could have spent more time. We brought our buggy and it was easy to get around everywhere.
