Great value super interesting trip.. thanks Will. A very insightful look at the city’s past
Boat was in good condition, staff friendly and didnt mind a chat when not busy. Bath Ales Gem available at the bar.
Good informative guide. Thoroughly enjoyed this with my two grandsons.
Visited Bristol old docks on one of their boats. The young man giving the tour had a great sense of humour and good knowledge of Bristol history. Great day with the family.
Great Local commentaries.. lovely staff ... be careful boarding if you are frail ... no rush ... very pleasant 45 mins ...
We took 4 children on the city Dock tour. Boat felt very safe with reasonably high sides for added security. Very informative and knowledgeable tour. Children really enjoyed and the 45 minutes went by very quickly. The boat had refreshments on sale and a functioning toilet which were extra bonuses! Highly recommend!
Beautiful trip down the river but disappointed that due to a large group being Late we all had to turn back to collect them meaning we had less time to eat lunch. If people are late the boat should not inconvenience everyone else on the boat who are on time!
Me and my daughter enjoyed the boat trip and learning a bit about the history of the Bristol docks, also well priced and a good experience for the kids.
Great experience and they have a really well stocked bar that has some amazing local products.
This was great. The tour guide come barman was excellent and clearly missed his vocation as a Compère with his humourous quick wit.My only moan would be that he was serving drinks and not telling witty anecdotes to the sights for several minutes at a time...
Informative staff, good boat set up & appropriately priced. Recommend when visiting Bristol.
We took the Hanham cruise yesterday as part of my parents diamond wedding anniversary. The crew were great, helpful and very informative. We loved the variety as we sailed from city centre to industrial Canal to seemingly remote woods upstream. It was exceptionally hot but we could move around and enjoy the scenery amidst the swimmers, paddle boarders and other river users. We would thoroughly recommend Bristol Packet cruises and only wish they had a full day on offer up to Saltford or even Bath!
Person giving commentary very knowledgeable and both very friendly. Ticket office superb as well
What an experience! One of the best birthdays party’s. The crew staff George, Archie and will we’re amazing!! All so helpful and knew how to make sure everyone was having a good time. Thanks for a great evening!Would recommend the packet boat tour to all my mates.
Lovely sedate boat trip from the old city docks down The Avon to the Severn. The boat Skipper provided excellent information and commentary as the tour progressed.
Really interesting boat ride, very knowledgeable about the local area. Really good tour
We had a great night out with these guys. We work close to the water and see the boats passing all day long. We were the last trip this day and I have to say, the cleanness of the boat was outstanding.George the First Mate was an absolute legend and is an asset to this company.Book with these guys and rest assure you will be in for a fantastic trip.
Great 45 minute tour around the docks. Guide was very knowledgeable and funny.
A HUGE thank you to the Bristol Packet Team, who were all great fun and created such an incredible experience for all our wedding guests on a trip from Harbourside to Beeses. The team were very accommodating, ensuring our guests all got to Beeses by river, despite issues completely outside of their control! It was a truly perfect introduction to Bristol for some of our travelling guests, and a brilliant experience for the Bristolians.
Exceptional scones with great cream tea and glass of prosecco. Our Bristol Anglo-Italian Circle loved your harbour and river trip we added Neapolitan songs.
Hired the Tower Belle for a big birthday celebration on Saturday 9July. Our trip was restricted due to the Princes Bridge being unable to swing due to mechanical issues but this made no difference at all. Everyone had such a great time and there was so much to see around the harbour. Thanks so much for such a wonderful trip.
a pleasant couple of hours out on the river, just enjoying the scenery and afternoon tea with my family. little one was super excited to be on a boat too!
We went on the Avon gorge cruise and had a lovely time! Staff were great and the gentleman who did the commentary was so entertaining and funny! We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend it, thank you!!!
A nice, relaxing boat ride of the harbour. Got to take some great photos and get a closer look at some of Bristols most famous attractions. The staff were friendly, although the guy doing the live commentary sounded a little uninterested. On top of that, the cruise itself was a little overpriced.
Excellent 45 minute docks tour with longer trips available.
I have to say this is in my top three river boat trips ever! Interesting, informative, in every way brilliant.Spoiler alert! You get to go through the most amazing lock and see Peregrines and the Severn!
Great tour of the Bristol docks with a commentary on the history. Unfortunately a low bridge that is presently unable to open prevents the tour from going all the way to temple meads otherwise would get 5 stars.
Lovely cruise up the river with some very interesting facts about how the river was used when it was a trading port, return was a bit quiet as the guide had provided all the facts on the way out to Avonmouth.
Dont expect to see a lot in those 45 minutes. It is just around harbourside. Guide/captain was monotonous so cant say it was quite entertaining.
Great trip around the harbour we got off by the cottage and walked around to the pump house then caught the boat back to the centre
Did the pub lunch trip on Thursday 28th April. Excellent in every way! The skippers commentary was informative, enteraining and interesting, and the choice of pubs at Hanham perfect. We went to The Chequers, and would recommend that too. Overall, a relaxing way to spend a few hours.
Fantastic experience, and our captain and crew were interesting, cordial and professional, and the 100 year old boat was spic and span.Loved the commentary as we sailed around Bristol harbour..very insightful!
Did the city docks tour. Friendly and knowledgable staff made for a great boat trip (45 mins). Nice and relaxing - great to feel fresh air outdoors
Had the cream Tea cruise, very helpful staff and very friendly - great views and a gentle cruise.
Boat trip to the mouth of the Avon and back. Weather was sunny and the river a mill pond. Very friendly and helpful staff who kept us informed with local history and landmarks. Enjoyed some refreshments. Perfect way to spend a Sunday morning.
Didnt take pictures Im afraid but trip round harbour lovely, they even have a toilet and bar, you just boat on the day, at the ticket office in SS Great Britain car park or I did see him taking card payments on the boat. They have trips that go out into the river Severn too.
A massive thank you to the team at the Bristol Packet. We travelled with them for our wedding on the Tower Belle and we and our guests just had the most magical time. The team were so helpful both running up to the big day and on the day and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you again so much and we look forward to travelling with you again soon.
We a lovely on boat docks to avonmouth the views from the water were great this trip is3.1/2hours
Stunning views and good fun to spend an hours sightseeing. The boat had a bar and clean toilets. However having done similar boat trips in other venues the boat we were on was pretty old and no onboard entertainment.
Decent 45min boat trip around the harbour. Captains commentary was informative with a bit of comedy thrown in with was in good humour. Enjoyed and would recommend as decent value to get different view of the harbour.
Great tours of beautiful city. Engaged and charming staff. Knowledgeable and entertaining. Great boat rides from near SS Great Britain.
Thoroughly enjoyed the harbourside boat tour, was good value for money, the tour commentator had a good energy about him, which made listening to him very enjoyable. On top of that he was super knowledgeable, so me and my girl learnt a lot from the whole tour. We was lucky enough to go on a sunny day, which topped off the experience nicely
We took the Avon Gorge trip on a sunny Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hours on the river. They really do fill the boat so not much space for picnics or walking around but plenty of points of interest along the way and the tiny onboard bar served a good range of drinks.
A lovely 45 min trip around the harbour. The skipper gave a great talk, very informative.
Loved the Avon Gorge trip, amazing time, would definitely recommend to locals and visitors
Great boat tour in Bristol Docs, seeing the SS Great Britain, and the Mathew and Balmoral ships in Doc,the packet boat tour was very educational of the Bristol City Docs, with refreshments on board, great for all the family .
Nicely spent time. Good guide, interesting talk... absolutely one of the must do in Bristol.
I take my small granddaughter on this boat trip. She always loves it. People that run it are all very nice and helpful and you get a commentary as you go around the harbour.
Great crews on the boats. Friendly and fun. Had a lovely trip around the harbour.....strange to be a tourist in my old work place.....but so much fun. Cost a little over a fiver for an all day ticket....great value.
Its my home city but love pretending to be a tourist and see the sights and why not? Bristol is full of interest. The captain, is that the correct word for a canal boat driver I wonder, gives a detailed commentary as the boat takes you through the historic Bristol harbour. You will see the replica of the Mathew (unless it is elsewhereand Brunels equally historic SS Great Britain. The trip takes you past the high spire of St Mary Redcliffe church and up to Bristol Bridge all the while with an excellent commentary.
