Brightlingsea Beach - Public beach in Bury, United Kingdom
Lovely day out, nice beach, safe places to swim, couple of food / drink places, kids play area, nice walks, parking is free along in the road or there is a pay and display car park at the end, would definitely recommend
Classic beach, Fish and Chips near by, lovely, safe and clean
Oh dear I dont know where the pictures on here are from. All that was there was a muddy man made beach. We left immediately
Nice, just walking along the water front.
Dont go there is a trap. I dont think you wanna even see whats there.Ive been there and was alot of dissapointment.
Brightlingsea beach. It was a hot weather for a week and We visited this beach during week days to enjoy the breeze and the sun. It’s 2 hours drive from London. There’s a cottages around, toilets are at the car park. It’s a pool sandy beach, good for kids, a foot deep maybe? And if you want to swim there’s a beach, muddy but I don’t mind, me and My kid enjoyed it. A bit of stones so just extra careful needed. I saw some people doing crabbing. There’s a small coffee shop with refreshments which makes very good coffee. Parking spaces is good and there’s a ramp for wheelchair users. Also there’s a play ground and opposite to the parking area there’s a skateboard park. On our way to the beach we also pass a Lido. I thinks there’s more to explore but We run out of time.
Fantastic safe place to take the kids, and loads of parking
Lovely sandy area with a tidal pool, great for kids to play and go paddling in safety. As the tide comes in there is an opportunity to throw a crabbing line over the railings. The tidal pool is only a foot or two deep, and the sand is a bit silty, but thats no issue for the kids. Two big carparks serve the area, so there is never an issue parking. Clean and nice toilets in the carpark, plus a good cafe van up by the tower are all useful on a day trip.If the tide is high its a great spot to watch waves engulf the walkway and tidal pool, even better if that coincides with one of the stunning sunsets over Mersea Island and Batemans Tower.Pretty little beach huts line the promonade from this area and towards the Marina. Its our easiest to reach seaside and back day trip.
Has everything you need for a lovely family day out, beach, can do crabbing, theres a massive field with exercise equipment and to have picnics on, theres a newly refurbished park, a kids beach, outdoor swimming pool, lake with ducks, and theres a mobile cafe with ice cream and coffee. Plenty of parking which isnt to high priced. Its one of my favourite places to go. I ❤️ brightlingsea !
Lovely place for crabbing
Lovely quiet beach. Clean and pleasent.
clean, huge, great for family days out.
A nice and safe area for young kids. Was disappointed that the play area was still closed for refurbishment. The kids had a great time anyway playing on the sand.
First visit for some fresh air and it was fresh. Not busy but can imagine in summer it is.
Always pleasant...nice walkway around the sea coast.
Nice but very cold walk today!!!
Two lovely ladies selling refreshments in a little booth and Max the local well loved cat.
Quite little place it is sectioned off for swimming so its safe for younger ones lovely little beach huts the tower was closed
Great place for family. Kids enjoyed crabbing! All required kit available for purchase on site
Loved it. Great for a family day out 🥰. Playground nearby and lovely beach
Superb sunsets ,and pool to visit
Love everything about this place.
Dont get me wrong the beach is a lovely place. Its just theres so much better places you can go in the area to get a beach feel with better views. This is manufactured beach that is surrounded by beach huts.
Lovely promenade of beach huts and sea views. Great for a short casual walk, some crabbing with children or enjoying some sea air..
Such a peaceful place
Always a good beach and toilets are clean enough. The car park keeps changing but fine to park at, with plenty of over flow. Nice walks for the dogs, and a park for the children..
Took a ride out here from Colchester on a blowy morning. Only one food & drink offering which sadly was only taking cash. I imagine there would be much more life here on a sunny day
Great place with loads of huts on the front great for a lovely walk on the sea front
Really lovely place. Great atmosphere &lots of nice walks here. Good place for a day out.
Lovely clean and tidy place beautiful views and a really nice walk along the sea front
We went crabbing with the grandchildren. Small beach area,(west promenade)with parking and toilet block but no cafe, apparently there will be new facilities here when the building by the lake is completedBrightly painted beach huts along the path next to the shallow beach area. The lido was closed and looked as if it needed some t.l.c,but all this is down to Covid lockdown as it was much better last summer .A short walk along the promenade brings you to the marina with a couple of pubs, shops and cafes and a boat across to the islandA nice place for a couple of hours.
Lovely little seafront with quite a lot of space and areas for various activities so you do not feel on top of each other. Also look out for the friendliest cat who wanders around (George I think his name is, also is not homelessthe rock pool checking out all the crabs that have been caught!
Lovely beach great for kids
Ive loved the beaches around Batemans Tower since I was a child. Relaxing l, calm place with great swimming.
Brightlingsea beach is a backwater thats a bit frayed around the edges but still has plenty to offer in these Covid afflicted times. The beach area has plenty to amuse kids for free. You can go crabbing, kite flying and paddle in the sea water pool which has its own beach. The toilets have been refurbished so are clean and fresh. Open air showers are available along with taps for fresh water. The lido is currently closed but work on it is underway. The boating lake is also shut due to restrictions along with the little museum but the place has a certain charm and Id visit again. Theres a thriving boating community in the marina area and a pleasant picnic facilities near the beach. You need decent weather as rainy day activities are in short supply. It however offers a good day out without the need to spend a fortune.
Great crabbing Spot, quiet with beach huts. No arcades. Paddling area for smalls. Lido currently closed. Nice walks out of the main beach area. Very tidal.
Lovely place, small sandy beach, quite clean good walk along the salt marsh, swimming area
Been years since I came here, wonderful walk along the promenade and paddling in the pool. Fun for all ages
Fabulous family friendly and not commercilaised
Great place for kids. Shallow paddling and fantastic crab hunting.
A lovely, clean beach perfect for toddlers as there is a shallow seawater paddling pool off the beach area, which gets quite warm in the sunshine. There are also toilets and on the Sunday we visited there was a kiosk selling hot snacks, ice creams, hot and CD drinks. The pay and display parking area is large so there were plenty of spaces.
A nice little place for a wonder, lots of beach huts (although currently some are scattered accross the car park due to the high tide back in Feb). The little beach area has a tidal paddling area which is good for the little people, there is also a boating lake and Lido further down the road, as well as a nice walk along the sea wall.
Lovely spot for an afternoon stroll along the footpath when the tide is up or along the small beach when its low tide.Plenty of parking and also a great spot for sunsets along by Batemans Tower
As I am a resident I am biased anyway but this beach, even in the winter is a beautiful sight to see. Great for a nice evening stroll
Had a lovely walk, bite to eat at the new Cafe (which was reasonably priceand play at the park and skate park. The area was lovely and clean too.x
Lovely place to start your morning, walking in morning sunshine
Beach huts! A lido and a lake,The tide was on the turn but managed to have a paddle. Will definitely be going back :)
It was lovely but windy afternoon walking down Brightlingsea Beach with my little family. It was quiet and not a lot of people.
Spent a good 30 to 40 minutes here waiting for a customer to arrive home nearby.Had a really nice cheese burger and chips from the burger van and used the wonderful clean toilets adjacent to the car park.Only slightly bad thing was that as the wind was a little bit stronge it blew the half eaten bowl of chips off the table, probably someones way of telling me to not eat as much lol
Lovely well kept beach, very peaceful.
