Bridgepointe Hotel and Marina in New Bern

For the price, I was totally unimpressed. Half the staff spent most of their time smoking outside. The other half were less than friendly.Rooms were outdated (by 30 years or so), shabby and run down. Nothing appeared to have had a good scrubbing in quite awhile.The "continental breakfast" was the usual runny eggs with mystery-meat sausage. For $240, I expected far more than I got. Even the pool and side entrances were closed.Not much to recommend this place, in my opinion.

This is Carolyn Friday,we was at Bridgepointe and Marina September 23- 25 2022 for a wedding. They were so professional in handing our reservations of 12 rooms. Samantha who worked the front desk deserves a five star. She was very courteous. Everybody enjoyed the rooms and breakfast was wonderful. The views of the river was beautiful too. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New Bern NC.

Ive been in worse hotels. But Ive definitely been in better hotels. Most hotels are better. The Shower and bathroom is tiny and the faucet leaks. There was garbage on the floor left over from the previous guest. The TV sound kept cutting in and out at random. And Im not sure if theres mold on the wall or not. But I started feeling pretty sick after being in the room without the A/C unit engaged.The first morning, someone spilled maple syrup in the elevator, I could see the drizzle on the floor along with all the tracks from the people throughout the day, well into the evening. Maybe it was there in the morning. I stopped taking the elevator.Otherwise, linens looked clean, and the shower was hot with good pressure.

The least clean room Ive ever experienced in my hundreds of hotel nights. After checking in and arriving at our room, we were very unhappy with the piles of cracker crumbs on the sheets that had been made up.We left for another decent hotel and lost our deposit.Dont stay unless you can handle hot and dark hallways, and lots of unsavory characters milling around.

Samantha was the main reason we turned around and stayed. Its an older style hotel but you can see the effort they put in to compete with the higher end hotels. The incidentals fee was high ($100but I think thats based on previous bad experiences with some guests who book through 3rd parties. The breakfast wasnt great compared to the competition but there was an effort to make it good. They have great potential in the property itself. I would definitely suggest to change the lighting in the hallway along with the ugly outdated carpet. The pool was slightly green. The rooms were clean so I had no worries sleeping. The bathrooms are incredibly small but functions the best they could be considering the location and square footage. The view from the banquet is incredible. Thank you Samantha for helping us and allowing us to stay.

We loved the pool and free breakfast! The kids had a blast. The beds were clean in the rooms but the floors... oh my goodness, were they filthy. My daughter spilled her water by the bed and when I went to soak it up with a white towel, the towel came up dark brown. The floors have definitely not been cleaned in years. Vacuumed but not deep cleaned. We had to wear socks the whole time because our feet were getting dirty from the floor in the room. It was that intense. Like carpet from a 90s bowling alley that was once a colorful and is now just brown and black from years of filth lol. But we had to stay somewhere for the night and it was the cheapest available option. We mainly just needed the pool and waffles for the kids, but I wouldnt shower there or walk around barefoot in the room.

I dont know how this gem has anything less than 5 stars. For the price and location on the water it is amazing. A short walk to downtown New Bern dining/drinking. Staff was nice, pool was clean and the marina added so much to the experience. Will go back!

The staff is amazing, constantly working to keep the hotel property and rooms clean, hospitality is top notch.Pet Friendly.Great breakfast spread, waffle batter machine/waffle maker, precooked eggs and sausage, muffins, cereal bar, great coffee, fountain juices. Grab and go snacks. Staff tends to the breakfast area keeping it stocked and clean.
