Bridge Bar - Jazz club in Valletta, Malta
Very rude lady. Went to get a drink at 2.45 and was told it was lunchtime and not serving just drinks - didnt even ask if l wanted to see the menu- which l did. Walked out. 8 tables free at this point!! Have some customer service training !
Great live music , vibe and platters were perfect late dinner
We just had drinks here. The location is great, beside the red balconies and phone booth. They have great craft beers.
Nice bar for spend a time with friends, friendly staff and good food/drinks for a night.Loving the Fridays Jazz sitting on the stairs! Amazing atmosphere
Turned up at the end of their live music on Friday night and were lucky enough to get a table next to the band. Good cheap ish drinks and music was great. Really fun night and would definitely recommend if you like music and are around
Amazing place! Beautiful location with great jazz concert on Fridays. Drinks and food are simple but good at a great price as well. A must on Friday
Perfect for chilling. There is live music at the weekends I think.
Cocktails was just terrible. Mojito wasnt drinkable at all. Just plain lemon juice and mint, sugar and alcohol went away. Platers was very poor according the price.
Nice Location, good food! Love the cheese plates 👍
Generally nice location with good service. We went for Aperol Spritz and Mojitos and both were unfortunately lacking sparkling water. Also, the place is cash only and our overall bill oddly went from 40 to 43 and then to 45€.
The atmosphere is lovely, however the place doesnt accept card only cash payments
A cool bar in the town!Best moment to visit the bar is golden hour!
Nice outdoor atmosphere to relax with friends when a live band is playing, bars booze selection is lacking sadly and no ciders at the time, has potential with little improvements may visit again at some point just for the location
Its great if you get a spot on the bridge, to have a nice view over the narrow street under it.
It is placed in a beautiful área and the music always is good but they have to improve the service.
Great atmosphere, good chois of wine. To eat you can choos from platters. Prices are affordable. Outside selfservice and it is a need to reserve if you would like to have a table. Otherwise cushions on the stairs...yes again from me:)
Really nice, simple place. And smooth music in the background
I was take away a humous with bread to eat late at night because they were closing , 3 -4 hours later I was vomiting till death…. I was food poisoned… then I came to the worst hospital I have ever seen in my life but this is another chapter…
I went to the Bridge Bar on 29 March (2022and so it was just the start of the season. It was a lovely atmospheric place to be and everything was great, food , service and wine. There were several occupied tables out on the steps … It was a bit chilly but I would definitely go back if I return to Valletta and in the warmer weather it will be a fantastic place to go for cheese and drinks :)
In March it is a lovely and quiet place to get a well priced platter of meats and cheeses, with equally reasonably priced wines. The owner is a very nice man, who will answer any questions you might have about anything. If you want somewhere closer to the water and away from the hustle and bustle, this is it.
Rubbish service: Staff member advised no hot drinks, couldnt suggest any drinks at all so we called out names of drinks to see if they had them and when asked about food served and what was available, were told that it was too difficult to serve food at the table we were at. A good waiter would suggest, have drinks and if another table becomes available, well move you. Nope, nothing... a disappointing experience. Oh and the table seated next to us were apparently grumbling as they had been overcharged. Lovely location, away from the hoi polloi but Im afraid thats it. Shame.
No food other than some basic platters, no drinks menu (only wine menu), cash only which we were not informed of prior to sitting down, no receipt. The mixed drinks taste like a watery mess.
Live jazz was great, cash only venue
Great little spot for some live jazz and chill vibes. Its a bit of a struggle and line up to order and use the toilets but the relaxed atmosphere and music is worth it. Prices are really reasonable too.
Live music on Friday nights is fantastic but reservations are difficult to get on short notice. There is option to sit on the stairs but get there early to get a seat.
Great location. Cool crowd. Different selection of drinks to the usual fayre in Malta. Sharing platters available. Handy for the fast ferry. Looking forward to checking out the jazz next time.
I rarely give one star however I saved this place from my previous trip to Malta and wanted to try and check it out as last time it was closed. To my surprise, again it was closed even though an update on there Facebook page that very same day states they are open from 7pm Mon-Sat. We werent the only ones as we saw another group after us turn around. It is just poor management and no one likes wasting there time on holiday.
Great place to be enjoy nice Friday evening with friends and some live Jazz. Make sure you book in advance if you’re after a table.
Pretentious place which looks good on instagram perhaps. The choice of drinks is limited, no meals only platters which collect the most basic cheese types which can be pirchased in any grocery store. We came here twice the same week and both times were told by waiter to resit and take table for two (instead of table for 4- first time he sent us to other side of the bridge where waiter comes once per year, second time he moved me few metres aside to the staircase while more than half of the tables in the bar was completely empty. The mixed drinks are priced better than in other places, but once you get them you know why. That mango mojito and raspberry mojito saw bottle of rum from the train maybe. The place says “jazz” everywhere even on its platter menu, but inside plays some electro pop, so besides friday live jazz as I read here, I dont know what is jazzy about this place. Thanks, I will avoid next time.
We found this place by accident, but we decided to sit there because we liked the atmosphere and the candles. It was quiet and the prices were very very good. We would totally return there if we stayed in Malta for longer. The only problem was the cockroaches. They were many of them and but they didnt bother us. We even had some laughs about them. In addition to this, I dont think that the bar can do much about them, since the tables are outside. However, if you are scared of bugs beware, because you will definitely meet some of them!Overall, I recommend this place to couples and friends who want to relax, have a beer and talk quietly.
Great atmosphere and great jazz night on a Friday. Everyone sits outdoors on the steps or you can book a table in advance if you are quick! Many people opt to sit atop the Victoria gate next door, with views over the grand harbour.Loses one star as the service is very slow and there is a single toilet cubicle for the entire bar!On the plus side if you dont want to queue 30mins for the bar you can always BYOB, sit out on the steps and soak up the scene.
Perfect location. Drinks and service can be improved. Check out the live jazz gigs on Fridays
Ordered an aperol spritz (emphasis on the SPRITZ!!!!and it was completely flat on the first sip.By the time the waiter came by I asked for a replacement and then the manager came out and said it’s because I let the ice melt…Who waits for the ice in their aperol to melt before drinking it in 30c heat? (The fact that the ice has already melted before anyone came by is maybe a representation of the service?)“I’ll make you a fresh one but just don’t let the ice melt this time… it’s a fresh Prosecco”Brought out another flat aperol made with what tastes more like white wine than Prosecco. Everyone else around had exactly the same disappointing look on their faces at first sip but no waiter around again. It was funny. We paid and left.
Wonderful location and live jazz music on Friday. You need to book a table, but its possible to sit on the steps and have a drink. Very reasonable prices of cocktails. Relaxed atmosphere
Definitely not whats expected of a place in such a beautiful location. We attempted to book a few tables for a larger group of people (18and when we tried to add 2 more people strategically to keep in line with COVID19 measures, we were basically told to tell them not to come. Needless to say, we fit them in. The staff were also very rude on the night and while they did try to accommodate us, they werent exactly polite about it.Finally, it all came down to the bill. A good amount spent in total for 3 tables, yet no itemised receipt was given. When we asked for one, it was impossible to get one. For all we know, they could have added whatever they wanted to our bill. It was basically impossible to split it properly between all of us, especially when some on our tables didnt have a platter or had specific types of drinks. The bar only accepts cash or revolut which proved difficult as nobody really carries cash anymore. This bar is basically a money laundering or tax evasion machine.Avoid like COVID19.
I read a lot of good reviews on Google maps and thought - yes, Im going to go there and enjoy my time. However, when I came there, the staff told me that they only have tables for more than one person. I was literally standing besides two empty tables for two that were reserved, but, ofcourse empty. I felt awful... The guy that works there did say that he is sorry for this, but I felt just ashamed. I will definitely not return there and for all of you guys that travel in large groups (or two), sure, try this place... It looks amazing and people are having a great time. For all of you that like to travel alone - like I do - better find another place.
The location is nice however there are a few things wrong with this bar.Firstly, they accept ONLY cash and did not give any receipts.Secondly, if you sit on a table you are obliged to order a cheese plateau, which took 40 minutes to serve and the owners excuse was that its rush hour (for something that it doesnt require cooking...)Thirdly, it is self-service and the quality of the cocktails was not that good.Fourthly, the owner and the staff were a bit rude, not only towards us but also to other people who made the mistake to sit on an empty table, long after the reservation of the previous guests was due.In general, I do not understand the fuzz with this place apart from that it has normal prices and live jazz music only on Fridays. I wont go again.
Excellent platters and great value for money. I would have awarded them a higher star had they accepted payment by credit card. Cash only in 2021, get real ! Nobody enjoys paying taxes but dont make it so obvious.
Great live jazz and excellent mojitos on a Friday night in Valletta!
One of the coolest Bars in Valletta and a great Location. Every Friday with live Jazz Music in cozy atmosphere. Good Prices for a bottle of wine and a platter with some local Tapas. Make sure to call them before your visit, for a Reservation. It was very busy
Bridge bar is a unique experience and certainly great atmosphere in summer, you can sit on the steps outside (also inside seating but gets busywith a variety of wines, George (owneralso serves platters of charcuterie and cheese. 10/10 have to visit!
One of the very best bars in Valletta and a must visit place for any visitor. George is a superb host and this place is a cool chill out place to take in a drink and the essence of Valletta life. Jazz night on Friday night shouldnt be missed either. We always end a night out in Valletta here. TIP: get a drink and go and sit on the wall to take in the view of the 3 Cities.
Great environment, good music and nice service. Drinks are great! And the live jazz band is amazing!
Lovely ‘bar’ (cushions on the stairs outside a bar). Live jazz music when we were there in a Friday night. Great Campari soda and nice vibe.
Classic European self-service bar with free seating on the stairs.. Laid back set up and u get good vibes out of the place and the people... Best of all thr jazz live music on Fridays.. Loved the place ♥️
Enjoyed this bar the most during my vacation in Malta! Grab a drink from the bar inside and chill on the stairs infront of thr bar.
Such a romantic place! You can feel Malta here. I enjoyed relaxed Maltese culture with nice beverages. Its not a matter how many is in your party because you can find a place to sit on the stairs as well.
Nice spot for a drink, arrived when it just opened for the night so ample tables (8pm ish)... Might not be the same at 10pm!Would have given 5 stars if it wasnt for the missing toilet seat!! 🤔🤔
Relaxed vibe, sprawled on stone stairs, nursing an Aperol Spritz, listening to live jazz under the stars... What more do you want to do on a Friday night?Hungry? A pop-up food stall with hot dog bun or Maltese platter stops the rumbling. An altogether satisfactory night out with BFFs ☺
09/06/2017 Definitely one of the most maltas nicest places for young people. If you go on fridays evening you can have a very good jazz music. Its the best to relax yourself snipping a good wine and hearing good live jazz music. Its cheaper but put in your mind to sit on stairs. Anyway its fun with a lot of people and candles around you. Give a look to my pictures. ;-)
