Laid-back family pub/restaurant chain serving classic dishes and international favourites.
A little disappointed.Went for breakfast, £9, unlimited buffet style including hot/cold drinks.Good quality was ok, the disappointing bit was that the hot food was rarely all available in one visit, ie you could get half your cooked breakfast but had to revisit back to get parts that werent ready when you first went. So a little more "stock control" is needed to keep the hot section replenished.
I visited today and i was served by Ryan his service was amazing and its really nice to have someone be welcoming.
Very disappointed with my food, not asked if I wanted any sauces, not getting the order right.waited over 40mins for the meal.Over charged on a meal. And the ladies toilets not cleaned nor even toilet rolls in holders the smell was awful.makes you wonder what is the kitchen like.Wont be going back there again,as I have been here before, had know problems before until now.
The place is clean and pleasant enough, childrens play area was good and kept the kids entertained, however food was below average and too expensive for what it is, things like dry microwave mash, 1/6 of a corn Corbet and then a £17 mix grill with rock hard steak and a 5mm thick gammon was just not good enough, refillable drink was sugar free (cheaper versionso all in all it is what it is.
We ended up here on bank holiday Monday, three of the meals were ok, smaller than they used to be, the 4th jokingly called winner winner chicken dinner, was like a shrivelled up kids meal to be avoided at all costs. On the plus side refills for the soft drink are free, a bit of a let down.
Been here for breakfast a few times. Good choice of food. Some food isnt always available, so a bit annoying. Play area for the kids to burn off some steam.
We had a party of seven which consisted of four adults and three children. On ordering we asked for childrens meals with our starters which is the only thing they got right. We had to wait over an hour for the adults meals and when they arrived were Luke warm at best. The front of house staff are great and couldn’t have apologised more, the major problem would appear to be in the kitchen.Several other diners also complained during our visit so it wasn’t just us.
Very bad as not told about putting car registration online so got a fine through the post even though as driver was disabled and parked correctly so will make sure everybody I no that goes there, which is a lot now dont now and would strongly advice you dont unless you also want a surprise fine for being disabled
Staff were polite and kind but the place was a bit disorganized. Long wait for food.
The breakfast was so good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The ambience was relaxed.
Cheap food, but quick and easy for the kids. Service ok.
Our meals took over an hour and they were luke warm. Not impressed by service or quality of meal.
I cannot express my dismay at the poor lack of respect for service on time by the staff. We waited for more than 45 minutes to be served our ‘sharing platter starter’ only to be told by a senior staff that the waiter thought that ‘sharing platter starter’ was a main course item. When the same server was asked about a main meal by another guest, it was mentioned that on 10/08/2022 at 20:25, the restaurant was ‘really busy’.It is now 20:56 and we have still not had our main meals. This after making sure our table was booked for 19:30 and we were there on time. This is most deplorable and not in the best interest of working in partnership with the Premier Inn with whom this deal was initially booked. Very disappointed.
staying in hotel for 3 nights went to restauraunt very disappointed very poor food and service with an attitude normally my premier inn experience is good this place is bad run down rooms that need refurbishment and bad brewers fair with poor food my wifes fish pie had an oil slick on the top my deep fried mushrooms under cooked and stoggy when i complained i got attitude very dissappointed
Waited over hour for starters which was lovely. All to be failed by our mixed grilled eggs was not cooked and asked for well cooked steak which was bleeding still.
Parking is plenty but remember to log you number plate on the tablet in front of the bar. We was served are drinks politely, however there was no wine glasses so I was offered a tall glass but I requested a gin glass as its better suited. Upon ordering at the bar we had a dietary request as the tikka came with rice and my missus requested if this could be swopped for chips, after the server looking puzzled we received a point blank NO! with a statement (its a set menu). Not had this before to be honest. The place is clean and a typical Brewers Fayer look and feel which I like.Food was standard, chips and garlic mushrooms slightly over cooked. Salad is just leaves with two quarters of tomatoe but plenty of it to fill a plate up. Grilled stuff ordered was tasty.
Food was good took a little too long to get our desserts but other than that good, oh and a little girl kept running up and biting my sons no parents to be seen.
Affordable food deals, suited for all, especially families. Good for celebrations. Staff always happy to help.
Clearly understaffed and overbooked. I waited nearly 30 mins for the cavery which was undercooked, and poorly carved into thick door wedge slices. Rock solid Yorkshire puddings. There was 1 person working on the carvery. The vegetables were bland and lifeless after sitting under the heater for so long. Very dirty and greasy tables. The staff appeared unmotivated and disinterested. The food we received for the children was not what was on the menu. A terrible disappointment. Money better spent elsewhere. I wont be returning
I planned a surprise for my wife and her dear friend Jean and booked a table for two at this"restaurant". Two for one. This offer was not available today.Roast of the day buffet? Not available today.Fish and chips? You guessed it, not available today!Burger and chips? Yes! Overcooked dry burgers, cold chips and upon complaining staff were rude and surly.
Had to wait a while for meals to come, but when they arrived it was hot and very tasty. Waiters fell over backwards to help. Enjoyable evening overall
Poor and very slow service. Took half an hour for the childrens meals to arrive. The Carvery vegetables were lovely but the beef and chicken were tough to eat. The gentleman carving the meat was making a right hash of it. Could definitely do better.
Arrived for brekkie,at 10-58. It finishes at 11, so we were panicking, there was no need,,,,,the staff Chris ,was so helpful and Georgia made us welcome and even had some fresh eggs cooked us.Was really appreciated.thankyou.
Fantastic value breakfast all you can eat, morning staff friendly and helpful. However evening dinner serving was slow. We ate there for four days. Each day we waited in excess of 45 minutes for our meal. Day one we chased after 45 minutes and our starter and main course arrived on a tray at the same time! Day three we waited one hour, we chased it and was told that our order was lost. so they had to retake it. Floor staff seemed to be working flat out. My two sons work in the catering industry and it appears to me, tho floor staff were doing their best, management control of the system. was lacking. Not up to the usual Brewers Fare standard.
We were staying in the premier inn next door so thought it would be easiest to eat here. Wish we hadn’t.There was a lot of food under the table from previous diners and the table didn’t look that clean. Not a great start. We then waited an hour for the kids starters only to be served our main meals. We said immediately to the person serving who said she’d find out what happened. We started eating the mains or they would have gone cold but she never returned.Mains were pretty poor quality. My husband had scampi and said it was tasteless and the worst scampi he’d ever had. It was over £10 so We would have expected something a bit better. The other mains were ok but nothing special.Someone came and started clearing the plates while one person was still eating. Perhaps it’s just me but I thought that was rather rude. We said that we were still missing the starters and the previous person hadn’t come back and she went to find out. To her credit she returned with them (said she found them ‘left on a side’but they were pretty pathetic looking and tiny portions. I think getting your starters after your mains deserves some sort of apology but I guess my opinion differs to theirs. Then desert. Well I ordered the Eton mess which was mostly air, had perhaps two scoops of ice cream, one vanilla and one strawberry, but sort of hacked up as if it was in the bottom of a tub, looked horrible. Maybe one spoon of cream, nothing I’d describe as frozen strawberry yoghurt, in total I’d say one strawberry cut into a few small pieces and NO meringue. That cost £5.29!!!! I feel totally ripped off.We left in disgust. Lesson learned, I will never eat in a Brewers Faye’s again.
The food was lovely and the service has improved a little. Its an okay restaurant to eat in but it would not be my first choice following a couple of poor visits over the last 12 months
Staff great, food great, price great... Just the kids running around screaming sucked. Understand its family friendly but dashing around peoples tables and even bashing into a staff member on one occasion is not cool.
Recent family Birthday meal. Hot and tasty food, promptly delivered and very ££reasonable. Excellent service throughout, as always!
Love their weekday lunch. Two mains for £8.99. Good deals with a lot of choices.I order curry rice almost every time while my friend will have fish and chips. Big portions tho’ cheap prices.
No cutlery brought to the table then asked for condiments none turned up asked again still none turned up very poor service might explain why this place was empty on a Saturday night very poor staff had no interest in being there and service was terrible
Was lovely for 2 year old grandson to play new menu was lovely staff were so helpful and kind even got me a take away box for grandsons left dinner he was to busy playing
Tiny portion for the price - my adult main was same size as kids one but 3 times the price. Puddings had terrible presentation - nothing like photo on leaflet. None of white wines on menu were available. Dont recommend.
We had a lovely meal our waitress was absolutely brilliant, I think her name was Rainbow very happy lady, so 5 star all the way.
Went for the carvery. Seriously slow. Supposed to be 3 choice of meats but only 1. Then had to wait ages for vegetables so had a cold meal. Not impressed. But the kids play area was a big hit with my grandson
The 2 stars is purely because the kids are entertained by the soft play. Food was awful. Took us 30 minutes to order it at the till as 1 member of staff was working. Table looked cleaned but underneath was toast from breakfast. Baring in mind weve arrived for dinner. Food was burnt or was cold depending on your meal. Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a can. After 30 minutes trying to place an order another 15 minutes had passed and some stuff i ordered wasnt even avaliable on the menu so had to reorder on the spot and pick something we didnt like. Lack of staff. Not very clean & toilets. All eere broken. Changed the baby on a changing table that was seconds away from coming off the wall! Not worth the money here. Dine somewhere else , soft play or not
What a wonderful restaurant. A warm greeting from the duty manager who managed to find a table even though I didnt have a booking for the day. The menu was varied and the table service excellent. Glad to see good customer still exists in the restaurant trade. Happily make a return visit if even back in the neighbourhood.
Waited an hour for food only to be told the receipt machine had broken and they hadnt received the order. waited another 30 mins for food to come out that was inedible, raw kids sausages, raw chips but burnt on the outside, chicken n rib combo was a measly piece of dried up chewy chicken. We know the food is always hit or miss but ribs were all bone and no meat. Very disappointed again!! We only come here because the kids love the play space.
One star because the staff we encountered were very sweet and are clearly overworked.Urine in the play area (which wasnt addressed by the management during our two hours in the restaurant), despite the height restrictions big kids dominated the play area, making it a bit intimidating for the little ones (and nothing said to parents by the staffpaint peeling off the walls, dust in the decorative cubby holes (which is pretty grim considering were still in a pandemic and its inches away from the table - clearly covid cleaning isnt happening here!), filth and gaffa tape on the ceiling, order came at different times, some orders were just wrong which the overworked staff just shrugged at, took 20mins to queue up and order food. Stale bread served with my starter. Took a photograph of the loaded nachos... Everything was sticky to the touch. I have pretty low standards, but the whole thing felt a bit like a social experiment, I kept waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out, screaming punked.I know its cheap, so am not expecting Michelin star standards, but this was grim. Ill be shocked if we didnt catch covid during the time we were there...
We stayed at the adjacent Premier Inn for 3 nights, had breakfast each day and ate dinner there 3 times.I was a bit concerned as Id read some bad reviews but I always like to make my own mind up.im so glad I did. The food was always hot and steak cooked exactly as requested. We had very little waiting time for meals. The Manager ,Rob was so helpful and ensured we were happy with our meals. He and all the staff were polite helpful and answered any queries readily. If we needed condiments these were brought to the table promptly. I have no complaints whatsoever.
Stayed in the Premier Inn, so decided to eat here as weather was terrible, so it was a quiet Saturday night, Plenty of tables available and service was quick, Reduced menu was disappointing, But we enjoyed our meals that was available, Found all staff, friendly, polite and helpful.
I almost didnt go because of the reviews. Im glad my wife and friends changed my mind. Wife and I travelled down to Hastings with another couple for a long weekend, and our friends booked the adjoining Premiere Inn hotel. We wanted a meal so the connected restaurant seemed logical BUT I saw terrible reviews. We decided to give it one try and if it was that bad, we would leave and go elsewhere. The staff were friendly. The food arrived quickly and was nice and hot. I had the mixed grill and it was great. My friend had lasagna, his wife had a sirloin steak and my wife had the smothered chicken. All meals were perfectly acceptable in taste and temperature. We also had breakfast each morning, again absolutely fine and we had another evening meal the next night, all great. I dont know if some customers have been picky but we all enjoyed the food and the service.
Brewers Fayre was attached to our hotel so we did the meal deal which worked out for us as a family..However…. The food was a big disappointment! I think everything was cooked from frozen. It didn’t have a fresh taste to the meals. I enjoyed one meal only and that was the fried breakfast on our last day.Breakfast 👎🏼I was disappointed and quite surprised that they didn’t cover any of the continental food for breakfast, and there were flies when I came to get a muffin. So I avoided it all!, I was hoping for some nice hot and fresh danishes, the bagel was rock hard as it had probably been out a while and with no cover on!. So unhygienic…🤢 would not recommend the continental breakfast unless you like rock hard bagels and flies on your food!.Fry up- was better on the 2nd day…Dinner- the first night we waited as we was confused about their system!.The second night we was sitting at the table for 2 hours for our meals to be served.. 👎🏼👎🏼 not great at all. We ended up not feeling hungry as it was so long!.Some of the staff were friendly..
On holiday so decided to go for food,. What joke , no chefs until 6 pm . Just after the day time deals finish. Why have the doors open to turn custom away.
Came in today (9:30 AM). 5 tables were occupied. Took about 7 minutes to be seated. No hello, no nothing, just have you scanned the code? We were shown to our table, waited 13 minutes for our order to be taken considering that the menu is all you can eat English breakfast or continental. Waited 20 minutes for the food to come. Food was good but that was the only good thing about the service today. Quantity of beans was subpar. Asked for more beans, took another 5 minutes only to come with a bowl with 10 more beans. Appalling service!
A little dated in places. However the food was delicious and our waitress was really lovely. Just what we needed after a busy day!
I gave this place another chance after having a really bad meal here about two years ago. I was pleasantly surprised although they didnt have the beef pie we wanted. The meal that I had was very nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Good place to visit with kids as we did.Id say its like a harvester and a Wetherspoons mixed together.Food is not out of this world but its good value for money and enjoyable, we were all pleased with our food and we left with empty plates and full bellys.
A nice family friendly pub. The food comes up in pretty large portions and worth the money. The food was served fairly quick. The only problem was finding somewhere to park. The car park was very small. Good selection of food
I booked a table online to eat in this restaurant as I was staying local, upon arrival I waited almost 10mins to be acknowledged by the staff, who I found very cold & unfriendly throughout my visit with the exception of the young lady that took my plate away at the end, plus took the time to ask if I would like anything else, yet both the wine and the food I had was outstanding value for the price paid, nicely chilled Chardonnay, plus a very tasty, well cooked generous portion of haddock & chips with mushy peas plus tartare sauce that also arrived a lot quicker than I expected due to the amount of customers sitting at tables.I did find parking a problem when I arrived as the car park was blocked off which is very hard to reverse out from, as there was no turn around point, so it could be a good idea to put a notice up to say its closed as in the dark I saw no sign saying anything, overall a very uncomfortable experience yet with exceptional quality food & drink.
We were staying next door in the Premier Inn which is why we had lunch and breakfast there.I have to say, it let Premier Inn down. This is the first time Ive stayed with a Brewers Fayre pub attached, and Im not impressed.Lunch for 4 was £36 and un-tasty too. Really basic, really poor.Breakfast was even worse. Staff ignoring us while queuing for a table. Breakfast items unavailable (ran out of white bread, croissant, drink glasses, and tea spoonshash browns oily, black pudding dry. I did like the sausages and bacon, so not all bad.So, in their defence, it was a busy Sunday morning, on one of the hottest weekends this year. And the staff looked busy, but running around like heedless chickens, rather than organised chaos....The place also was run-down; definitely in need of some TLC. Paint peeling off, wooden frames and doors rotten (even the fire door leading to the childrens play area was rotten).First and last visit....
