Brazos River Park in Channelview
Description
Privilege
Great place to go Mt Biking. Trails are well maintained and contain what I think is some of the best Mt Biking trails in Houston. Lots of fun but you do need to know where you are going to hit the full riding area. It can be tricky but follow the other riders and ask other riders if you are not sure where to go.
MoreGreat trails and very well kept.
Great trails for both walking and biking!
Very clean place, sad that I saw a lady eating inside her car at the parking lot and throw her trash out side on the ground next to her car... The trash can was just a few steps away from her....
MoreA nice park to take a walk. There’s two parking areas so a lot cars can fit.
I go 5 times a week I like week days and late knight when I got the trails all to my self lol
MoreAmazing dirt bike trails for all level of riders and different distances.
If youre into trail riding and mountain biking, this place is for you. Miles of trails that are will marked for all riders. A good place to ride due to lack of protruding roots along the trails. Highly recommend.
MoreThis park is such a great place to get outside and enjoy the trails and nature!I come here at least once a week to ride my mountain bike. Trials are geared towards mountain biking but hiking is also allowed and I often see hikers and joggers on the trails.I’ve seen armadillos, deer, and snakes on the trails.
MoreWe all love to go to Brazos River Park; great spot for a walk or bike ride! There is a smooth wide sidewalk path you can stay on or dirt trails you can go on to do some hiking or mountain biking! They also have a frisbee golf course and bathrooms available. The trails showcase a beautiful natural landscape, there are snakes around so keep an eye out!
MoreBest recreational park ever its got everything u need bike trails, picnic tables grills bathrooms dog parks dog washing area open space trails to run walk jog places to take your dog for a walk long as its on the leash cant go wrong here its got everything even pavilion so you wont be in the Sun sitting at the picnic tables plenty of trees to sit under when youre tired and hot benches so you can rest its quiet its beautiful green plenty of wildlife so many pictures you can take, its just an amazing Park.!!
MoreThese trails are so smooth you dont even need suspension!
First time on the MTB trails. Mostly smooth surfaces and some added hills make for a fun ride.
MoreNice place for a mtb ride or trail running. They have lots of parking and easily accessible from hwy 59. It has wide open spaces and not too busy.
MoreTheres a disc golf course! Plenty of open area and parking (more than 600 spaces). There are hike-and-bike sidewalks and trails, a festival site to the north, and a water tower to the northwest. The river is beyond the trees and runs west to east. The park connects to Sugar Land Memorial Park to east and together make about 5 miles of running if you do all the loops but dont go into the trees.
MoreWe went to the international art festival here last week. And had a good time. The kids enjoyed all the rides and ofcourse the kite flying.
MoreI love this Park! I go as often as possible. Its wide open, like a rural area, but in the city of Sugar Land
MoreSuch a wonderful place to get outside and see the beauty this side of Texas has to offer. There is plenty of parking with several entrances to the trails. Be mindful that the trails were built and are mostly used by mountain bikers. If youre hiking please yield to a rider that is usually moving at a much faster pace than hiking.
MoreThis park is a runners paradise. It has frisbee golf. Trails by the Brazos River. Great parking. It’s a 4.5 needs more trees.
MoreThis place has awesome walking trails along the Brazos river along with mountain bike trails. It has frisbee golf and also an amphitheater. There are restrooms and water fountains to add too.
MoreI LOVE IT !!!! CLEAN and Friendly. Theres a trail to walk by the river. I go hiking, for practice. There also bike trails
MoreExcellent park for having long hikes around and be safe in the city environment. Although a dead person was found here a few months ago, it’s presumed that he felt while biking. I would not recommend being at night here since it gets extremely dark
MoreWent to play disc golf. 9 hole course with long and short tees. Mostly open, but two holes start in the trees. I liked the use of elevation changes. If there wasnt so much poison ivy inside the wooded area, then it would be perfect.
MoreI always enjoy my visits to Brazos River Park. The local MTB association does an excellent job building and maintaining the trail system here.
MoreThe trails are well developed, many are one-way. A few sections with jumps. Plenty of parking.
MoreVery peaceful, less crowded, beautiful trail, well managed, my kid loves cycling here
MoreNice and space for panic or drone under 200ft.
Excellent bike trails for beginners to experts. Parking lot is always empty, police patrols do rounds every so often. Amazing place for a picnic or a simple stroll
MoreIt is lot easier to get to now since it is now connected to memorial park. It is a great park for bike riding and walking trails. The middle of the park have a elevated section for picnic.
MoreThis parks main purpose is for large events and gatherings, but it is nice to walk there and there is also a nice walking/biking trail. On the walking paths, there is no shade, so come prepared with a hat. It doesnt really get busy, and one reason may be that it is somewhat hidden and There isnt a playground for children.Update. Recently construction has completed and there is now a connector road and sidewalk from memorial park to Brazos river park. This connection is wonderful because it is only one mile long and I don’t have to take 59 south and go all the way to the 99 signal to make a u turn to get to brazos river park. Now that the park is more accessible, I think more people will discover the park.
MoreBeautiful park. Extremely large walking and biking trails. Has a gorgeous dog park and sits right on the Brazos river good fishing as well. Bass, catfish, and Gar
MoreWe went there to watch a movie with the kids. The set up for auto cinema is great and of course everything depends on the weather. We loved it and the kids too. Everything is well organized, there are concessions and police help if needed.
MoreNice park :I discovered this place from Masala Radio Holi: festival of colors event and the grounds are large enough for big events. The park has nice walking and biking trails around the paved road and woods. They are extending the park to Sugar Land Memorial Park
MoreGreat place to ride bike on trails. Easy enough for the kids on they park side. Go under 69 for more challenging trails. Check the trail conditions first, dont ride if its too muddy, its bad for the trail (and your bike).
MoreAmple parking, a disc golf course, biking and walking trails. You can also take the levee to Memorial park to avoid the parking hassles over there. Definitely worth a visit to relax and be socially distant.
MoreVery clean park with great trails. The bathrooms were extremely clean for a public park. The trails were very nice. We walked down to the brazos river to fish and didnt catch anything, but had fun on the sand banks.
MoreThis new park is a hidden treat. Its got nice trails for biking and you can do mini hiking to the river. There are a few picnic tables as well!
MoreSmall gathering spot with picnic tables that are covered. Ample parking with BBQ grills available for public use. Public bathrooms for each gender that are decently clean. Next to large field with lots of ants pile. Trail with mountain bike trail behind large field.
MoreThe bike trail is the best among all trails I visited
One of my favorite trails.
This is one amazing park. There is no clear access to the River. We had to go through makeshift trail to river. And for kids below 10 years, this makeshift trail to reach water was a big adventure. They get like they conquered Mount Everest. Lol 😍
MoreLove the trails out here. Make sure you have a mountain bike since they have a lot of jumps and dips. There is an area called the Roller Coaster that give you a lot of options from beginner to experienced riders. Wanna go back someday to try out the Frisbee golf course.
MoreGreat place to run and bike along the trails!
On the surface there isnt a lot to this park. A huge parking lot. Restroom and walkways. Take a.one minute walk towards the river and it transforms into an awesome all purpose (but mostly mountain biketrails through the woods. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and it is glorious.
MoreGreat trails very well maintained. And marked clearly and large enough to see while riding. I will definitely be back to explore more of the MTB trails
MoreAmazing biking trails! Bring a friend! Trails are great for anyone who can ride a bike! Theres more challenging trails the further in you go. Make sure you have a trail map or someone who knows the way. The trails do get wet when it rains but it dries up quickly. Just make sure youre careful and have fun!
MoreVery nice clean park. Good walking trail. Signs warn of alligators. Park is OK for dogs, but must be on leash. There is a dog park in a different section for off leash.
MoreFantastic mountain bike trails. Fresh air, tall trees; a sense of being in the woods when in reality you are only a short ride from a bustling city. The best part is there are people dedicated to maintaining the trail systems so the trails are always clean, safe and there are several people that frequent the trails, so there is a feeling of community.
MoreWonderful park with lots of action. 4th of July fireworks are a sight to see and always a great night. Miles of hiking trails which have given me hours of pleasure. Well maintained.
MoreI love coming here to set up my hammock, fish by the river or any other chill outdoor activity. The parking lot is huge and the events held here by the city are pretty enjoyable. The trails are fun to hike, with river access at many points.
