Ijen St No.25 A, Gading Kasri, Klojen, Malang City, East Java 65115, Indonesia, Singosari
Artifacts & exhibits on Indonesia's war of independence, including military weapons & tanks.
Good museum in malang city๐๐๐
Study about history. The place is clean. So many stories save in here.
History is always interesting to me. Not a big museum, and focusses on the struggle for independence. (seems to be a common theme in Asian countries). So always good to hear the other side of the story. No English display descriptions but I use the google translate camera feature and can work out most descriptions.
Interesting museum, mostly focussed on the many struggles the Indonesian people have had to endure.
Gowess
Brawijaya museum is one of historical place in Malang that must be visited. This place stores many things related to remnants of Indonesias struggle against colonialism. We can see weapons, uniforms, medicines and items used at that era.
The museum has various collection from photos, flags, paintings, uniforms, vintage newspapers and banknotes, official letters, artillery, rifles, pistols, vintage computer and medical tools, and traditional weapons, mainly keris. The collections are from the era of Dutch military aggression onward (please kindly correct if Im wrong ๐๐ฟ). The museum is located right beside the main road. An armored vehicle is placed at the entrance. There are nice toilets in it. The entrance fee is only 10,000 IDR.
Good museum housing weapons and historical items of the Indonesian Revolution.
I think this place need a bit more maintenance :but its cool seeing all the weapons and historical stuff. Even show the formations and all. Good place to learn history. And friendly staff.
great collection of weapons and vehicles. theres almost no English translation so I used my google camera translator. Couldnt grasp how the Dutch invaded this country and what the Indonesian did to stop them. the picture selection isnt that impressive. compared to war museums Ive seen in Vietnam and Cambodia this museum is a joke. Probably because the war was way less significant and cruel
The museum give my son experience about past, how hard we fight for freedom. And also lesson that nothings good from war and colonialism. I just bring us pain.
Good place to know some part of history of Indonesia. The place is prety comforable cause they have a clean toilet, mosque, and food court with many various type of delicious food
In this museum there are many relics of the struggles of earlier heroes. There we can also take a picture because it isa good place to take a picture.
Wonderful & informative army museum in Indonesia!
The museum contains artefact of Indonesian Military. It may looks like trash, but we Indonesian cherish it as a legacy. For it had witness the struggle of this republic.
Best place to seek out about our national history, especially on the local heros act during colonialism, independence, clash I and clash II. While in the front building the visitors can wondering about the things used/worn by the heroes, you can entering the library in the room placed near the boat.
First time visit there and im excited at all... Theres a place for seller and place for us to have an exercise ๐๐ป
I really love this place ๐๐ full with stories
Car free day jam 06-10
great for kiss, my daughter really love this place
Good place to find anything you need. Foods, clothes, other necessity, even plants. Definitely recommended to try out the snacks and soto bening there.
As a tourist, there was absolutely no point in visiting this museum. Before entering, I asked the guy at the ticket counter if anything was in English. He told me everything was in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. Of course, this was a lie. Absolutely nothing is. Between the two rooms there is a collection of old war time guns and memorabilia but not much else. Didnโt learn anything. Coolest part was outside the museum. Entrance is 5,000 rupiah per person.
Niceeeee veryy niceeee
Museum Brawijaya is one famous place to learn a chunk of vast Indonesian history. This museum display the captured event the past struggle for better Indonesia through war and battle against colonial government as well as domestic rebellion. Its small display room is still worth to visit to see the dark past of the country. Other than that, a humble hall is located behind the room for public use. Some martial art classes are having their schedule in this building including karate, kenpo, aikido and taekwondo. The new mosque was built recently in the area for locals and visitors to stop for a short while to pray.
Best place to learn about the Countrys history. Entry fee is quite cheap, you only have to pay Rp5.000. Open at 8:30.
many historical military collections, but so creepy and very low maintenance museum. i feel sorry for them, that doesnt seem appreciate their past.
This place is recommended for you who likes Indonesian history and military equipment. I would say there are so many weaponry (gun and artillery), uniforms, and even 40s carrier pigeon taxidermy. It does served as education and memorial museum for those who fallen during Indonesias independence era. Sometimes I got chill while walking in-between display rooms (those creepy aura). But then again its cool place to check out if you are visiting Malang.
Exhibit artifact from pre-independence and post-independence era, mostly guns and military stuff. Cons : not well maintained, found a lot of dusty artifact. Renovation is gravely needed for the museum to attract more visitor.
Only pay 5k to enter this historic museum in malang. Have lot historical stuff (and originaland information about the past, perfect for children to learn history. but a bit too dusty, need more improvement.
Beautiful place, beautiful attractions every Monday. Such a lovely place to visit with your loved one!
Found a lot historical stuff here, such a cool place to remind our heroes, but it needs more lightning inside.
Got so much new information & knowledge from this museum. The service is very good, even this place isnt too clean, but still comfortable! I did enjoy here!
Visit on sunday morning during friday is the best.
People without know their past Culture, History and Origin like Tree without Root
In the sunday have car free day
Really good museum that sums up how Malang ppl and Surabaya ppl fought for Indonesia. Maybe in the future, you can add a big fan or even an AC bcs its pretty hot at noon.
Small museum with limited artifacts.
Historical place with good collections. But it seems more old fashioned. Best place to learn history about Military Aggression in East Java. The relics are still original.
This place is legendary. Still has its urban myth about the lost train back there, bleeding bricks, bleeding fallen uniforms, and whatnot. Used to play with the tanks when I was a toddler. Please keep it up to attract more people to learn about history.
I had visited this place since I was 3 or 4 years oldโfor almost 30 years ago. Aside from the collections, there were fishes in the pond.As a child I was interested to visit the museum for the fish. And still, I am. Unfortunately the pond is no longer as clean as years ago. Hopefully it can regularly be cleaned up.

#LetsGuideWhile museum as interest place to deja vu...mini dokar...
good place to educate about history of indonesian army
Brawijaya Museum is a museum that displays the history of nations armed struggle to seize independence. Much of the military equipment used by republican fighters is shown here. A suitable place to give an insight into nationality and nationalism in children. There should be more attention from Indonesian Army and local government to renovate and renew museum facilities.
The government should pay more attention to make this place more interesting and more attractive for young generation. We will realize that the independence of Indonesia was precious thing. It took much sacrifice and blood. Our former spent their everything to win the war over the colonials.
In this place there are various relics of the war era of independence of the Republic of Indonesia. This place is also one of the spooky places in Night Town. There is one train carriage called the "Death Car" (indonesia: Gerbong Maut). This story occurred on November 23, 1947. At that time, although Indonesia was independent, the Netherlands still has not left the archipelago. Prior to the incident, the Dutch made extensive arrests against the Army of the Republic of Indonesia (Tentara Rakyat Indonesia), paramilitary, underground movement, and people regardless of their role or not in the struggle. This resulted in a full Bondowoso Prison and could no longer accommodate the prisoners. The Netherlands also moved about 100 prisoners who were deemed to have serious offenses, from Bondowoso city prison to Surabaya town prison. The transfer of prisoners is done by train. The first carriages of the GR5769 with 28 people and the second carriage of GR4416 with 34 still have air vents even though they are very small, but the third carriage GR10152 with 38 people is not at all - albeit freshly made. The Dutch are closing tightly on train cars. This is because the raging guerrillas of Indonesia, if there are people who caught bringing the fighters of RI, will be directly killed.During the trip to Bondowoso from Surabaya which took a dozen hours, the three train cars only opened occasionally. That too briefly. The prisoners were also given no food and drink during the trip. Therefore, the prisoners suffocated one by one.Arriving in Bondowoso, as many as 46 fighters died from suffocation did not get food and drink, heat, and enough air. While the rest survived, although in a state of weakness and limp. The surviving prisoners were forced to carry the dead. They had to be careful because it could have been the skin of the prisoner who had died, exhausted, and roasted in a railway steel carriage.
Nice place tp know history of independent Indonesia and Malang
Mostly used for field trips than regular viewing.. Shows lack of care for history.. Nice place overall but I really think they should maintain the objects better.. There are ways to clean it without tampering it you know..Ok place
One of some military museum in Malang. The collection are good, many historical things. But they need to improve their services and make some interesting events there to make it more alive.
