British & international menu items in an art deco dining room with high ceilings & natural light.
Beautiful venue. The food and drinks were excellent (try the Eton cheesecake, you won’t regret it!but the service was patchy- had to ask the waiters to come several times. The bar seemed very busy as the drinks were more delayed than the food.
Booked for a celebratory dinner, absolutely loved the interior from the bar to even the toilets. Friendly staff. Great food from main to dessert & the tastiest mock-tails.Only downfall is it can be quite loud when busy, however I’d had ask to move and was able to be seated somewhere quieter. Definitely would recommend & revisit!
Beautifully designed and decorated, with very good drinks - relatively reasonably priced and fantastic staff and service.Margarita of Athena : 5/5Absolutely amazing margarita for those who appreciate a good tequila. This drink was so delicious I had to order it twice, both were consistently excellent.Fountain of fortuna: 4/5A very tasty g&t + sake combination, presented in an elegant wide margarita style glass with a peachy/pinkie colour to it. It was quite good, but lacked the ultimate punch in my opinion — DISCLAIMER: this could be because I ordered this after the margarita of Athena which was just amazing and a tough act to followSalmon tacos- 4/5Very tasty, high quality smoked salmon used. It gets a 4/5 because they use guacamole “Sauce” as opposed to real guacamoleDecor: 5/5Simply stunningStaff: 5/5I interacted with 3 or 4, all were extremely friendly and courteous. Special shout out to the lady at reception who seated me and even pulled a chair from one of the bar to the other for me! Thank youI visited on October 2nd
Very amazing interrior design and extraordinary service. this hidden bar & Restaurant in the selfridge building (sidestreetis a true delicious happening for thr eyes and mouth. Perfect place for lunch or some small bites or drinks between the shopping madness. Service is very very customer friendly and attentive. prices are little bit high and portions small but the quality of food and service is it defently worth👍👍👍
Great place, big windows, lovely decor, very attentive staff, delicious food. Not too pricey either.
Love coming here. Good food & good service- I wish the menu changed.. it has remained stagnant for 3-4 years!
I went here in April and its such a nice atmosphere to have a meal. Bar the curlish behaviour of Cassandra towards one of my relatives, the rest of the staff were lovely. The food and drinks were really good and right up my alley. Lovely lovely cocktails and a good menu with decent choice.Ill definitely find myself there again. Good value
Rather surprising excellent "liner" at the Brasserie this afternoon.Stunning interiors, friendly staff who went out of their way to make us happy (we were 1 hr early and picky about table).Good quality food and drink at surprising good value.Suzie our server looked after us and was attentive and friendly.Well be back!
I highly recommend for a perfect lunch or dinner, the cocktails do not disappoint and the food is spectacular. The miso black cod and chicken dumplings should definitely be a must try when visiting .The prices are quite reasonable and great customer service .
🦄Brasserie of Light 🦄Looking for an instagrammable place to eat?Located Inside Selfridges on the first floor 📍.Price range £30-40.We ordered: Malaysian prawn curry, Bang Bang Chicken Salad, chocolate bubbles, and the Orbit. The interior was stylish and classy and of course the restaurant centres around their colossal unicorn statue. This has a great vibe of you’re celebrating a special occasion. The prices are affordable and the service is welcoming. The ladies bathroom is beautiful and decorated with pink marble sinks.Ratings:* Taste: 7/10* Service: 7/10* Price: 7/10* Presentation: 7/10Follow my food account on instagram @best_restaurantsldn
Went for lunch on a Sunday. The food was hit and miss. The avocado sandwich so so but poached eggs were nice. We also liked the truffle rice balls. The side of “creamed” spinach was quite bad though - soggy texture and bland taste.Unfortunately the service ruined the experience. Slow and completely aloof staff. Brought one menu for two people. Had to ask that my companion gets one too.Coffee was really really bad. And two cappuccinos arrived with 5 min difference because the waiter decided to walk around with one backwards and forwards because they needed to “check something”. When the cup finally arrived it was spilled. As I mentioned it was disasterous - watery, no coffee in it, just milk which was not frothed but rather mixed with water.
Perfect place for breakfast/brunch. I really appreciated their flexibility with substituting items in the “English Breakfast”. The high ceiling interior is bomb, loved how spacious it feels.
We had an okay experience at this restaurant given we went early (6pm before it filled upso it wasnt too busy. the tables were incredibly close so Id imagine it wouldnt be too pleasant when its packed. The food was good, although Id say just a bit above average. Personal favourites are the fried chicken appetiser and lobster linguine. The decor is certainly the best part of this experience. Unfortunately I didnt think the service matched up to our expectation. We were served by a number of staff who all seemed to have communication issues with one another. We waited half a meal to receive our drink despite asking for it multiple times. However, the Asian lady that served us was fantastic and checked in on us several times. If it wasnt for her, Id find it difficult to justify the 12.5% service charge.
We had a great time. Amazing food, decor, even the WC is special.Well worth a visit and very reasonably priced.
The atmosphere is incredible! The design and lighting of the restaurant are wonderful as well as the service. Food is very delicious, however I would not recommend the steak as it was nothing special. Salmon and chicken Milanese were more delicious. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
What great experience. Friendly staff. Everything was perfect specially the appetizer was delicious and new idea of serving beetroot. Really enjoy it the egg bendicit and the poached egg cooked as i like runny yolk with harden white egg. Thank you for having us and hope to had another experience in the near future
Nice stop off at the bar whilst shopping. Ordered a classic gin martini with a twist and it was very good. The cocktail from their menu was very tasty. Have a peak in the loos - very cute!
I can endlessly go there because of the standard of the food. It’s easier to book a table now than before Covid. I always go there when going to Selfridges. Not very friendly receptionists though. Three of them were standing and no offer of the cloakroom.
Really incredible spot for brunch fare - loved the Malaysian prawn curry, the popcorn shrimp and their drinksCame back for dinner and, while the menu is pretty limited for veg mains and our service was really slow, the food is delicious and the vibe is great - definitely recommend the burrata and the beetroot salads
Very nice and pleasant place, good atmosphere but something wrong with the staff. None of them smiles. From the hostess who cover her face with a menu to make a comment about customers to the other hostesses, to the bar staff. All look sad, not even a fake a smile. The food was good, great selection of wine but sadly need a happy staff to make it a happy place. I dont think we pay service charge for them to make that face, they dont deserve the tips TbH
I’ve heard amazing things about The Brasserie of Light. In my experience, the best thing was the decor. Prices were reasonable but I feel it is more for presentation. The food was unfortunately nothing special. The bread was fresh and warm which was nice. My dish in particular, The Baby Gem, Apple and Grape Salad, did not contain any grapes despite being in the name of the salad. It also had an amass of cheese which was not mentioned on the menu. Although fresh it lacked flavour. So overall, very underwhelming, and my fellow diners agreed. We saw some fantastic cocktails being delivered to other tables so drinks may be a reason to revisit. The tables are also situated very close together to make for as many diners as possible which can make it somewhat uncomfortable at times. Service was good in general but the restaurant was very understaffed.
The place is absolutely gorgeous! We went there for Sunday brunch and it was a lovely experience. The truffle croquettes were fantastic, the zucchini fries were very flavourful albeit more oily than anticipated, the chicken Milanese was great but get some fries with it and the egg dishes were ok.I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a lush experience!
Enjoyed my meal here. I loved the Malaysian prawn curry. Picturesque interior.
Bring your sunglasses when you come. The place is specially constructed with angles in the various mirrors and even the glassware to reflect the light. Hence, the bling bling is everywhere. Which makes it a fun place to come for a bite after shopping in Selfridges! Be sure to visit the washroom as well for the bling! We had the onion soup which was well presented and flavourful. I would recommend it. The maki with duck was not so impressive. Maybe they should go with a prawn or crab maki instead.
It was surprisingly busy for 9am but service was quick and it was a lovely breakfast experience. Staff were attentive and checked-in quite frequently, food was well-priced, portions fair and options were far from limited.
Great brasserie style food, good service from the front of house and a lively atmosphere. Expect to spend £30++ per person here.
Highly recommend . Beautiful food , lovely atmosphere and service ..we will definitely be back !I went back again today and was again so impressed ! The staff are on it !! Polite and we had such a friendly waiter .The food is delicious and I think excellent value for the quality ,service and ambience !! Its definitely a favourite and I highly recommend !!
Brasserie of Light is a very bright, clean and quirky place. The service is very quick and friendly and the food and drinks are tasty. It offers a broad variety of different lunch items, so theres lots to choose from. The breakfast menu is ending quite early, especially for weekends. We went at 10:30 and it was already on the lunch menu.
My sister and I have a new obsession recently which is brunches/ breakfast outing. The Brasserie of Light, has become my new favourite place to eat out. We went for breakfast, which was amazing experience. The food is always fresh, cooked well and delicious.Highlight of the breakfast was the pancakes, very light and sweet. The staff are always attative and friendly. The overall place has a beautiful design, and great for taking pictures. I will definitely recommend going here.
Lovely ambiance, lovely view, staff attentive, comfortable, meals presented well.Expected the food also to be "wow" to match the setting, but really disappointed.Regrettably taste was average, and not the best texture for either of the two meals. The tortellini was too heavy. The prawn curry rather bland.High marks are just because of staff and service. But I wouldnt go back.
Later afternoon snack inside of the beautiful Brasserie of Light and the experience didn’t disappoint. Inside is seductively lit with candle lit tables, food were bite sized and tasting menu portions
Had a nice brunch here, I liked the Eggs Royale. Quite fancy and unique decor, and its a good place for drinks too. Felt a little let down by the attentiveness of the service though. Expect prices in line with the area.
The ambience is great. It has a trendy vibe and artistic decoration. It is in Selfridges, so it is good to visit after shopping. The food seemed to be Asian fusion with European. We had scallops for starters, but they were served one dish at a time instead of together. I dont know why, as they didn’t explain it. We had chicken breast and lamb for our mains. The chicken was with teriyaki sauce. Overall, the taste was TOO salty and strong for me.The staff paid attention to our wine glasses to pour the wine. I liked the violinists who were playing live in front of the customers. It is an interesting restaurant to visit to chill out, but the food isn’t to my taste and below average. I would probably go back there for drinks after shopping to rest my legs, as I like the atmosphere.
Brasserie of light is based in Selfridges London.I finally got to visit for a breakfast one Sunday morning, where I was greeted by one of the friendliest and loveliest Italian doorman. The decor and aesthetics in this place are amazing (inclusions the bathrooms)You will be dazzled by the humungous pegasus that is on display. This makes for a fab selfie. The staff inside were friendly and attentivethe breakfast I had was delicious and accordingly priced i felt.
Great food! Was taken to lunch there by my sister for my birthday! Awesome!
Ok, so the location is very nice, decor is nice too. Now the food, pancakes were delicious, was a bit disappointed with the vege breakfast- poached eggs were far too over cooked. Coffee tasted more of milk than coffee, the strawberry kisses brink was awsome. Customer was decent and efficient. I wouldn’t be against going again.
Memorable experience. Had a breakfast, the food was elegantly presented and the service professional. What was amazing was the Art Deco surrounds and elegant mirrors throughout. It was truly an enlightening experience.
Yes, one of the most instagrammable place in London but the hype is not worth it (alteast for me)In Covid times the seating was so crammed that one cannot get up without hitting the other table! The place was certainly full but it would have been nice if the staff was a lil more patient. The food was average.Expensive yes, cause of the brand and name but nothing exciting being offered.I was taking my time eating and the staff asked me 2 times … are you done?Well, I know you have bookings, I know you have slots for everyone but why would you ask a customer who’s plate you can see is clearly full so many times that are you done?Sad experience. I personally would not recommend but having said the place was full so I am sure they are always super booked!I had a mint hot chocolateA Halloumi open sandwichZucchini FrittisA latteThe hot chocolate was decent other stuff are avoidable!
the scallops reminds me of a similar one I had in cafe Joel Robuchon back in HK, excellent quality. Cocktails were really nice as well
I am hunting nice places to visit that are pleasant for eye and serve amazing food. I’m giving 5 stars as Food, Service and restaurant have met all my expectations. Place is wheelchair friendly. Service very nice, professional and fast. I had very nice experience. Restaurant is Easy to find perfect for meal after exhausting shopping 🛍 Thank You!
I have visited a few times, always a great experience and would recommend for dinner/lunch. The food is delicious. I have tried the roast chicken, lobster pasta, truffle balls, fish nachos, prawn bites, and mixed salad. I did feel there was too much truffle in the food. The Damien Hurst Pegasus looks amazing!!! Bathroom also good for selfies. Their is an entrance on one of the side streets with a lift that takes you directly up to the restaurant - to avoid getting lost in Selfridge.
Passing through the Art Deco mirror-lined and blush pink bar, to the dining room of the Brasserie of Light housed within Selfridges, you’re transported to the ideal for ladies who lunch.Seriously one of the most elegant and beautiful restaurants. Amazing and friendly staff. My favourite dish - King crab with avocado
Having a reservation makes dining entry easier as is the only way at the moment. Service was incredibly perfect. Starter was delicious as well as the main course except for a strong herb taste which was a bit bitter. Besides that it was a great experience.
Fantastic service, fantastic food. I was actually stuffed after having a main course and dessert. Had no issues with my reservation, even though I was running late. They were kind to keep my table as I had called earlier to inform them. The ambiance is also great.I went at night and the atmosphere was electrifying. It also looks like itll be pretty looking in the day time. 100% recommend
Loved it what an atmosphere based in Selfridges it is an up market restaurant i would say. They also do tea and there is a bar so cocktails and drinks. We went at lunch time with a friend and the service and food was delicious. We started off with a drink of Bellini which was followed by snacks and the mains. One of the snacks was zucchini dipped in a batter and fried and the lamp chops were also worth having. Not cheap but worth a visit if you want to mix with the upper class.
Came on a Monday morning for breakfast before 11am. The restaurant wasnt crowded at all and the service was faultless. Everyone was so welcoming and cheerful! Amazing hospitality. The breakfast was amazing as well. Highly recommend to visit!
I was very satisfied with the food. For the starters I’d go with the scallops and the mushroom balls. I had a ravioli with a steak which was also very nicely cooked. The service although was a bit too slow
Beautiful light, bright and airy restaurant situated in Selfridges. Lovely menu with light bites to classic dishes. We enjoyed our food and the cocktails were fantastic, we were given recommendations from the staff on things to try from the menus. The service was great from all the staff and the food and drinks were prompt to the table considering how busy the restaurant was. Definitely dine here again.
I had made reservation for two tables last night. I had tried to call them multiple times but no one answered to let them know we were running abit behind time. (only 10mins late)On arrival it was very disappointing to be told that you are only allowed 5 mins late arrival time on reservation and she had cancelled my booking (despite the email confirms a 10 minute windowand then made to feel like your not welcome at the restaurant based on looks, it felt like it was directed at our race and appearances. The hostess looks you up and down and be-littles you. (luckily she rebooked us in as if she was doing us a favour)I should think a respected establishment like selfidges should have equality and diversity in every race. we were made to feel like we’re not good enough to come dine in your restaurant. However, I would like to say the dining service and waiters were amazing.I would hope you review your front of house host etiquette is more welcoming to all customers regardless of your ethnicity - black white or Asian…I dont think I would dine here again or bring any friends. We spent all in all around £800 combined 2 tables they do not allow you to book more then 6 people at a table because they are unable to arrange the seating for you.
All restaurants in the ivy chain get a thumbs up from me. Good portion sizes and interesting dish combinations. Desserts are a must and not just great looking but great flavour combinations as well. Lovely decor and although very “Instagram” the food is what will keep me going back!
