A bit overpriced but good food

Delicious food and excellent service. Wonderful atmosphere. I will definitely return to try some of the other dishes.

Arrived slightly late (after telephoning several timesjust after 2200 (2205 to be preciseto be told by the greeter that the kitchen is closed. Restaurant was FULL of other diners still eating. We even tried to order our dishes by phone in advance. It’s inconceivable to me that you would risk losing loyal customers by a dogmatic application of a nonsensical rule. Very very poor service

Outstandingly bad food and vine for a rather high price. We ordered some white vine that we sent back. Onion soup is a joke.I more recommend a cocktail at the rooftop bar.

The food was OK and the service was a bit “special”.Unfortunately, when my soup arrived cold, the server proceeded to insist that it was my fault.I had ordered a French onion soup without the bread. Upon informing him that the soup was cold, he proceeded to tell me that the cheese made the soup cold—because it was lacking bread. Wait, what?Furthermore, this restaurant puts a touch of cream in their French onion soup—which tastes very strange.They did rectify it by ordering me another soup—without the cream or bread—but why did I have to insist? The second time it was hot, with the cheese 😂.There are too many great restaurants in Zürich for me to return to this one, which is a shame.

Walked passed this bistro and thought the decor looked cute and popped in for a quick lunch and the food was a wonderful surprise!Flavours were good, staff was friendly & accommodating. Highly recommend x

Really enjoyed our meal here. The room is nicely decorated with images from the local festival. Service is extremely prompt and polite. We loved the meal we ordered.

Lame. Open till 11 per sign. Came at 10.05. No host. Go all the way in. Waiter says they are closed. Found host. Last call at 10.30. Ok. Do you have desert? Kitchen is closed. Do you have to cook it??? Super lame imho..

The fish and the seafood were of excellent quality. I must say that I was quite impressed with the rudeness of the staff, particularly the person assigned to our table. Ive read some reviews pointing this issue out before going to this restaurant and could confirm it myself. Its a pity, since its a great place with great food. I hope the bad staff gets renewed.

Wonderful staff with excellent decorum. Very close to the worst steak I have ever had in my life. Was personally shocked.

Sole filet in butter with vegetables and potatoes at @brasserielippzurich 😍 Escape into a Paris-like brasserie to enjoy delicious fish. My dish was just perfect and worth going back! Next time I am very curious to try the entrecôte or the seafood (lobster and mussels)🤩👌🏼♥️

Literally, the worst experience ever on a Christmas Eve day. Me and my partner went there with no reservation and asked if we could get a table. They told us there is no problem, and showed us to our table. After we told the waitress that we are going to get drinks and dessert they literally made us get up from the table and leave if we were not ordering dinner even though the place was half empty. Their explanation was that ‘this is a restaurant’. Never experienced something more rude than that. The staff was very unprofessional and they could have told us from the beginning that they have ‘rules’. We just wanted to enjoy the evening in a cozy and nice place but the entire experience was very disappointing.

Best so far for fresh seefood fish Brasserie Style small Version of Gare du Nord Paris!!! Daily fresh and tarte tatin one signature dish the world of french pastries..and Desserts. Best.

Fantastic mussels, fluffy, tasty macarons, crispy chips, attentive and quick service, despite a full restaurant and at a fantastic price for an upscale restaurant in Zurich. All around a great experience.

It’s a good Restraurant with good food. The terrace is nice and cozy. Mussels are quite good and the rest of the food we tried was okay.

One of my favourite restaurants in that area. Very nice French flair and very capable service staff who have been at Lipp for decades. Its French cuisine and very nice for seafood and fish. But I also had one of the nicest vegetables plates ever at Lipp. (By the way my other favourite restaurant in this area is Hiltl. You should definitely go there if you are around.)

We know the food is good as in any Brasserie Lipp. For sure the mussels, entrecôte, filet, fries and wine were excellent. The escargots and desserts a disappointment. The reason why I’m disappointed is because they were very helpful with reservation and in welcoming our big group at 21:00hrs. Sadly, as time passed and kitchen closed (22:00hrsthey forgot all manners and they rushed us to pretty much get out telling us multiple times they were closing at 23:00hrs. Waiters brought desserts just to the beginning of the table and didn’t even wait for salted food to be finished. Took glasses with out asking, etc. we were out by 22:30 and it could have been 22:45 without being rushed out the door.Sad because for sure it’s one of my favorite restaurants in Paris.

Visited: dinner, Friday, July 30, 2021.Despite having no reservation, I was warmly welcomed at the establishment.I wanted a quick and easy bite and opted for the "Lipp-Frankfurter auf Sauerkraut".The dish was absolutely delicious: the sausages cooked to perfection, the sauerkraut sweet and tender, mouthwatering.Service was fast and attentive: bread and mustard were brought straight away, thereby ensuring that there was no need to chase the waiter for essential staples that need to accompany the dish while its still hot.Memorable and worth every penny.

Would I recommend the Brasserie Lipp?Yes if youre going there for afternoon coffee and sweets. The pastries are really delicous and well worth the price. Plus the atmosphere inside the restaurant is superb.No if youre going there for food. The Vienna Schnitzel was extremely stale and paying 47 CHF for it felt like an insult. The lobster and fish tasted nice but there are better restaurants in Zürich which offer superior quality for a cheaper price.

Great mussels, good oysters, prawns were so-so and a bit sandy. The service was good but we had our own waiter. Before that we came to this place for a coffee and the waiter was quite rude.

A horrible rude placeWaitress brought me white wine and told its rose. Was very rude when I asked to show a bottle of this. I didn’t want to pay and was ready to go and they even kicked me. Super bad experience never recommend to no one if you like a service

Food is good but it is the rudest restaurant you can ever find. The man at the reception area is unfortunately a very very wrong choice. Even if when you have a reservation and he is not busy with anyone else, he makes you wait long. Just looking at his screen... Unfortunately there is no other explanation than his ego. I used to love this restaurant; now I don’t step in at all. I don’t recommend anyone to go there. The quality of food is one thing, the treatment you get there is another...For me both are important if I am paying at that level.

Eating in Brasserie Lipp is always a pleasure. Food is great, service fantastic and with an atmosphere that makes your believe you’re in Paris rather than Zurich. The assortment of Oysters is as the quality, really good. The digestif menu could be be a bit more extensive, there is decent choice, but nothing really high end. Same with the wine menu. It’s good assorted, but not great. There could be a bit more Swiss and French really high end wines. There are some, but not a lot. The food menu better, there is something for most, without being too much. But hey, for me this is one of the goto places when in Zurich.

Came here as first dinner stop of our Tour of Zurich. It was supposed to be a good meal to start our tour.The place was nice in term of their decor. The proposed menu looks enticing.Then what came later was disappointing. Their service was very slow. Very very slow. Our group was literally falling asleep, caused by both the slow service and jetlag.The food (we had lobsterBut it was bland. Nothing to excite us. Towards the end, when the dessert came, we had lost all interest in the meal.Pity. When we first entered the place, we had expected so much more.Lastly, I think the bill also was high.

The fish soup is sooooo good, oyster taste fine, and better with their sauce. My boyfriend loves their bread. We were served by a very friendly and patient lady (no idea of her name). Generally good experience and would love to patronise here again to try other seafood dishes.

If you are looking for a traditional restaurant with excellent service in the middle of town (Zurich), look no further. We had lunch there on a very hot day and their air conditioning saved the day. As I said, service was attentive and friendly, the food very good and they even agrees to serve the Wienerschnitzel with chips instead of potato salad. All in all, a very pleasant time was had by all.

We sat outside which was lovely especially considering the warm weather ! We had a lovely Waitress Conny who ensured our wine was topped up and we had what we needed. We ordered the seafood platter which was huge and delicious stand out was the mussels and clams so tasty - the crab was not that great but then again we have had the best coming from Australia. We also decided to prefer dessert I got the Lipp lemon tart and it was amazing and the chocolate mousse was also delicious. A bit expensive but overall we had an enjoyable evening. I recommend the octopus that was the highlight for me!

Wow. What a great service and choices in the menu. As usual at majority of Brasserie Lipps around the world. Recommend it 100%.Note that the service is excellent and they do not offer something on the menu unless they can be proud of it.

Foods we ordered were tasteless. We ordered mussels and they were still sandy! The mussels haven’t expelled the sands and a waiter said because they are from the sea. Comparing with the prices it isn’t worth coming. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

Great experience: my girlfriend loves oysters and here they have them in abundance! I enjoyed a salmon tartare, which was fresh and tasty.

Good restaurant, with an acceptable service but the price its high. Ill recommend to try the oysters and the entrecote, really good stake. The place has a great ambient and is in the center of the city and shopping stores.

Great oysters. Bistro fare was competent. I had their special of veal and kidneys in a cream sauce, tasty but nothing special. Service was attentive and fun.

Oyster is pretty good at set menu(5 different kind of oyster from Franceincluding one glass of white wine. Nice atmosphere and good location.However disappointed with fish soup and espresso.
