Brasserie Cafe Med in Estancia
Description
Privilege
Love this restaurant, was one of its first clients, always have my birthday supper here
MoreVery very very poor food quality for high price. I can make better food at home for a fiver. Dont waste your money here for disgusting food.
MoreCozy and elegant at the same time. The staff is very friendly and the recipes so delicious. I highly recommend this place.
MoreAlways good and nice staff and terrace area
A very nice cozy cafe with great food!
Had an excellent dinner at this lovely restaurant. Food was delicious and the service was attentive without being overbearing.
MoreBeautiful food, amazingly kind staff and atmosphere
Wonderful food and amazing service.. the waitresses are so kind and helpful
I would say its just about ok ish. Cant rave or feel the need to rush back like so many people do,so maybe its just me!
MoreBreastfeeding mother asked to leave by staff for expressing breastmilk on the terrace.Met a friend for an early evening drink on the terrace at Cafe Med. Later my wife and 6 month old arrived to join us. The terrace was almost empty (7/circa 10 tables free ).Despite the place being very empty, as soon as my wife started to express breastmilk for our son, via a concealed pump, the waitresses demanded the table back!We explained that we weren’t finished our drinks and that my wife needed time to pump. The waitresses at the request of the manager, still came back to our table two more times asking for the table back immediately. We explained that my wife was expressing milk and the staff repeatedly asking for the table back was putting additional pressure on my wife, forcing her to leave even when she wasn’t ready and there were no other customers waiting for the table.Really disappointed how the staff treated us.We complained via email to the restaurant direct and they simply ignored us.Is this how a restaurant should treat breastfeeding mothers?
MoreYup really good food and great outside space
Good food, a small, relatively simple menu, and while most tastes are catered to there isnt a vegan main course. The food is high quality, well prepared and presented, generous portions, and no skimping. We enjoyed our white wine at a reasonable price. The outside seating is spacious and comfortable, south-facing, perfect for long summer evenings. A great venue for a relaxed meal.
MoreLovely food! Hearty, excellently cooked! Everything tasted fantastic. The afogato ice cream was exceptionally creamy, so was the banoffee pie. The only criticism on the food is that the parmesan chicken could use a sauce, its slightly too dry.Cocktails were quite good as well. We had tried the negroni and the prosecco with elderflower. Both of them very good. The maitre could be friendlier. She’s quite cold and unapproachable.
MoreFantastic place, friendly staff, excellent food, good price & free parking.
Perhaps it was a bad night to go but the food was below average, especially for the price. The cauliflower fritter was more like an oily unseasoned pancake. The mushroom ravioli were over cooked and seemed as if they had just come out of the microwave. The prawns also did not seem fresh. However the dessert was good. I don’t believe at any point we were asked how the food was. We will not go back, which is a shame as it’s so close to our flat.
MoreReally good lunch here at this family-friendly local restaurant in St Johns WoodI took my cousin for lunch here on a recommendation and we were both really impressed with the stylish décor, nice menu with wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes, delicious food and super friendly and attentive serviceThe prawn linguini, chilli garlic prawns and their Banoffee Pie were all absolutely superb so for £75 including service you cant ask for fairer than thatParking is super easy as you can park for free on one of the surrounding roads like Boundary Road or Clifton Hill and the atmosphere is very relaxed.10/10 highly recommended - Ill definitely be coming back here again very soon
MoreThis was one of my most favourite places to come to for over 20 years - and I do not say this lightly. They used to serve warmed bread as a starter with virgin olive oil complimentary and it tasted like no other in year 2000 to 2016. The restaurant served me so many happy years, and I will be grateful for that always. Antoinetta was very patient with us today ... Excellent service 👌👋🙌
MoreCozy place: during winter, the fireplace and the velvet chairs makes the restaurant special. During summer, the terrace is just amazing, south facing and therefore full of sun.The dishes are good, but not delicious. However, it is the only decent restaurant of the area and it is very well adapted to the children: they even give out papers and crayons for our younger ones.
MoreGood informal restaurant with wide range of dishes. Was possibly better before the lockdown and Covid and inflation (brexit?seems to have increased prices.
MoreThis is one of my favorite repeat places to go the food is incredible and the service is outstanding. I love the cozy feel of the place. (Especially during the wintertime and theres a table by the fireplace👍🏻 The portions are generous and the food comes out quick. There really is only one problem (if you want to call it thatthere are so many outstanding dishes thats its very hard to select just a few. Ive left with some takeaway boxes on many occasions because I got everything🤣.This is a great place to go and then come back again and again.
MoreGreat atmosphere, very good food. Good selection of wine.Somehow got the feeling we were being rushed, particularly weird because there were very few others in the restaurant.
MoreSpacious indoor and outdoor dining. Great choice on the menu. Welcoming friendly staff.Highly recommended.
MoreQuite average food - they dont ever care to warm up the patty in a burger (felt like pre-cooked one from Tesco). Same goes with fries. The waiter forgot to brink the drink I ordered.Nice outdoor sitting though, that is why 2/5
MoreAn excellent laid back restaurant with an eclectic take on Mediterranean dishes.A nice terrace for all weather dining.Very good pasta and really good desserts. My linguine with prawns was perfectly cooked. The Espresso Tiramisu was very light and fluffy.Wine by the glass is not a rip off and the coffee was perfect.
MoreWe went to Cafe Med last Wednesday and we had a great time and experience. The staff were very attentive especially the manager. The food was delicious and the ambience was very nice. We look forward to going back soon.
MoreFirst restaurant visit after lockdown, did not dissapoint. Excellent service and had a delicious lunch.Good to know,if you want to eat locally.
MoreSuper oily. Feels so heavy after eating there. Even a couscous salad was too oily. Mediterranean food needs to feel light and fresh.
MoreAn amazing meal, with fantastic food and great service and a wonderful terrace to enjoy it all on. I hadnt been for years but visited again recently and Im so pleased it hasnt lost its charm and the touches that I always used to love.
MoreWe had a meal here in Monday evening. The atmosphere was great, service friendly, but Im afraid the food disappointed. My starter, the goats cheese, watermelon and mint salad, should have been interesting and balanced, but the cheese did not punch through. The tuna for main was of good quality and cooked well, but the cold side veg salad was a strange combination for a dish on the evening menu.Wine was good and well priced.
MoreVery good and quick service and nice food and drinks
Cozy environment :)Staff members are very friendly and attentive.Starters were great! For mains we had the sea bass which was really nice and also a shredded beef burger, which was ok.The brownie dessert was delicious!
MoreToo expensive for the poor food quality. But my real reason for the review is the lack of interest to follow COVID guidelines. The waitress was handshaking and hugging people and then bringing our food. I didn’t enjoy the experience at all.
MoreI’ve been coming here regularly for years and years, and this was the first restaurant I visited after lockdown.Always a lovely welcome and plenty of room between tables.I’ve bought many friends here who had never been before and they all, without exception, thoroughly enjoyed it.The steaks, calves liver and fish cakes never disappoint and the French fries are amazing.I’m going tomorrow.
MoreGreat European food. Good menu and wine choice. Service was impeccable and good value for money. Also plenty of outdoor dining space facing the sun 🌞
MoreThis is a charming little brasserie in a lovely tucked away peaceful part of St. Johns Wood, with an outdoor area on a terrace, fenced off from the pavement, which is perfect during summer. Food is delicious and reasonably priced, with absolutely fantastic staff that are attentive and hospitable. Looking forward to going back for the filet steak and chips as soon as possible.
Morelovely place。nice staff。quiet and cosy。。。likes!!!
Im looking forward to going here again tonight. Excited to see if the staff are rude and unhelpful, as in another review, because Ive never seen this and I go several times a year Always been a very nice place in recent years. They do seem to attract some very demanding customers though.FOLLOW UP: The staff and meal were five stars. We had a lovely evening.
MoreA group of us gave this place a try and I wouldnt recommend. The cocktails were quite bad, my friend sent her martini back a few times but it didnt improve much. I ordered the prosecco & elderflower cocktail but it was mainly ice and elderflower cordial. We ordered several starters for the table, prices for each dish ranged from £7-9. When they arrived they were tiny portions. The buratta was only a piece of a buratta and when I questioned this the person servings said a whole one would be too much... I ordered the risotto for my main, the peas were done well but it lacked flavour and I found myself adding salt and parmigian. There were 7 of us and we paid a lot, but we didnt leave feeling we enjoyed the food or drinks unfortunately.
MoreSo delicious food, we love it!
Spent an afternoon at the restaurant recently with members of my staff for a meeting and lunch. It was totally enjoyable, the food was wonderful and served on time, the staff attentive and responsive to all requests. Our speaker was given an extra room for his presentation with all the facilities he required, we even had a n open fire to keep us all warm on a cold day!Thank you so much for looking after us!Very pleasantly surprised by the high standard.Dr Spencer
MoreThis is a lovely restaurant, in the heart of St Johns Wood, London. The restaurant is on the ground floor within a beautiful, classic, stucco building, with an extremely comfortable interior. Its spacious, so diners are not on top of each other, with plenty of room to move about. On warm days, or evenings, you can choose to dine outside on the comfort of the enclosed, raised patio. The tables have large umbrellas, and outdoor heaters, if required. In winter, or on colder evenings, there is a lovely fire in the main eating area, giving a cosy feel. The lighting is sensitive and thoughtful and the staff change the lighting as the day goes on. The service is professional, polite and friendly. An excellent menu and wine list are available with a wide and varied choice. Its not surprising this restaurant entertains a full house in the evenings, so you would need to book in advance. Alternatively, there are usually tables available for lunch, or a late lunch. Highly recommended. Five delicious gold stars.
MoreA slightly more up-market spot that works for both formal and informal variations. There is a reasonable variety on the menu, with plenty of vegetarian options. It is normally relatively quiet, and has outdoor seating for warmer days. Although nothing revolutionary, the food is of a very good standard and wont leave many unsatisfied.
MoreDecor has changed cushioned chairs & sofas in pastel colours. Picked Tequila Lime Chicken expected a different flavour from a marinade. Got plain grilled chicken a shot glass of tequila with a wedge of lime. Really disappointed. Veg was chopped tomatoes & skinny chips that werent that great. Would avoid in future.
MoreThe pub has a good fresh menu (in particular the daily mains for fish is great). The restaurant is however very much let down by the staff and in particular the lead waitress - she is so annoying and goes a long way to make sure the place looses customers. After 10 years will now never come back and she refused to provide me the owner details so I can feedback the repeating issues of her attitude.
MoreAn old favourite for us. Cosy on winter evenings by the fire and lovely to dine on the terrace on summer afternoons or evenings. Small but well chosen menu generally well prepared and tasty. Easy parking, there is a small car park and lots of parking in the street. Excellent service from pleasant and helpful staff. Reasonable prices for the area. Recommended, you wont regret eating here.
MoreWe went as a party of 6 to the restaurant in June 2018. I agree with the numerous other reviews that the staff are exceptionally rude, and unprofessional. We were asked to follow a waiter to our table who went off to talk to friends. When we asked where the table was he just pointed and asked us to go back to the entrance! The restaurant wasnt particularly busy at that time. The food was mediocre. We wont go back again - one of the worse experiences weve had around the area.
MoreCome here for the banoffe piece! Its well worth it. Lovely terrace for outdoor eating in the summer and a cute fireplace to keep you warm in the winter :staff are always welcoming and the food is a delicious and healthy Mediterranean selection.
MoreLovely little place for a calm, relaxed Sunday lunch. Theres even a brilliant gentleman, Tim the magician, who entertains any little kids you may have with you at the table. The food is very good, if a little on the bland side for me. While not necessarily the best value for money Ive ever gotten, its most definitely not going to stop me going back next time Im in London.
MoreNice place, the food was well presented and the menu was very interesting. However the food did not live up to the pricing unfortunately hence the average rating.
MoreGood quality food. Attentive staff and also a good place to have a coffee during the day. They even let you have your dog with you if youre sat out on their terrace and provide them with a nice big water bowl
