Upscale chain brasserie serving a classically French menu devised by celebrity chef Raymond Blanc.
Absolutely lovely lunch, staff was very polite and curteous, the food snf drinks were fresh and perfect, the music was nice (and not loud at all). Toilets were very clean. Great, cosy atmosphere.
Really great restaurant, food was fantastic and staff were brilliant.
Catered for our party of 16 with different dietary needs and young children. Everybody commented how good the food was and any changes were made without fuss. Service was good, prompt and pleasant staff.
Visited here whilst on holiday in Winchester and decided to visit after reading the reviews. We werent disappointed, great service and fantastic food. Was a minor issue but the manager came over and soon had the problem sorted. Surprisingly good value for money too. Would happily recommend and certainly go back again.
Really good food atmosphere is fantastic. Staff is friendly.
Great atmosphere, food & service. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent short-notice lunch. Great table placement. Friendly staff and fine food. Even advice on dessert wine, which I over-rode, but was actually spot on.
Update: October 2022Visited after new refurbishment and Autumn menu. Was a busy Wednesday evening, however service was good, food was excellent as usual, Prices are up, but thats to be expected. Refurbishment has been tastefully done and the overall improvement in the decor is welcome.Excellent as ever. Christmas lunch with friends time.I can honestly say Ive never had a bad experience at BB. When things arent quite right they always sort it. Great service.
Great service. Attentive staff. Great wheelchair access. Thank you for also singing Happy Birthday to my mum when you brought the cake over!
Lovely restaurant, nice atmosphere, the food was really delicious.
Great food, staff friendly and efficient, lovely atmosphere
Really fantastic and friendly staff. Great menu and food. Nice dining room - a solid spot in Winchester!
Really nice, great ambiance, attentive staff, and a nice new menu. Will definitely go again.
Wow, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, absolutely wonderful to dine there. Thank you so much for a hard work.
Great food and excellent service! Good choice of menu for drinks and food. Staff were lovely!Definitely will go again!
Excellent food and service. Will be visiting again soon.
Every plate was perfect; presentation, quality and portion. Met 4 members of the team, all were highly professional but still friendly and chatty - the Manager has done an amazing job of creating a cherished family restaurant atmosphere under the umbrella of Brasserie Blanc.
Great food and atmosphere. Lovely staff. All our dishes were so good. Chicken pork fish curry and beef. Pistachio soufflé was amazing.
As always a lovely ambiance and friendly service. The makeover looks great. We visited for Sunday lunch so a limited menu but always a enough choices. Great value 2 course for £22.50 and if you fit it in with a 3rd choice for just another £5.I had two great courses, fish soup with cheese and croutons which is always lovely and dessert a lovely summer berry Saverin sponge. However, this time my main was not great, I chose the grilled squid with chilli & ginger. Great tasting but squid overcooked so chewy. I persevered for a while but gave up. What I must say is how staff handled my disappointment , so gracious, apology and a free dessert for both of us offered by the manager which was lovely.I always enjoy coming and will not hesitate to come back again.
Good service and an excellent meal in a friendly atmosphere.
Brasserie Blanch has beautiful interior. The refurbishment is recent and the colour combo of the interior is pleasant for the eyes. Their menu is great and so is the food. The staff is also excellent. I had ordered the Halloumi Burger with House Coleslaw which was super delicious. I also had dessert and ordered the Pistachio Souffle with scoop of vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate. And it was soooo delicious! Just melted in my mouth. No pictures unfortunately as it was a lunch with office colleagues. But it was a fantastic experience and I would go again to dine in.
Faultless experience. Very friendly staff. One of the best pork dish Ive had for ages! Even if you feel full, always try their pudding selection. You wont be disappointed.
Good service and choice of classic dishes. A good place for a nice meal with friends and family
Fantastic food and wonderful service. Will be back again. The steak was perfect and the wife had confit duck and loved it a credit to Raymond. Thank you for a great evening of food.
Very authentic french restaurant. just been refurbished and looks great. Staff were very attentive
Had a lovely visit. Good staff and very well priced. Only critique was the main could have been slightly hotter!
Absolutely smashing night. We had a large party and they were really patient and accommodating. Food was lovely and the atmosphere was spot on. Would definitely go back!
Amazing place! Food was brilliantly cooked, staff was accomodating and very knowledgable on their wine list and menu in general. Highly recommend! Definately recommend!
Have not been for a long time and our visit today did not disappoint! Superb attentive service by Jo. Lovely starters enjoyed by everyone and main courses that not only looked great but tasted exquisite. Drinks reasonably priced and overall value excellent - well done Brasserie Blanc we will be back!
Can I begin with saying, Brasserie Blanc used to be one of mine and my partners favourite places to dine, however, our last visit was nothing like what it usually is.Upon arrival, we were seated at a table in the bar area despite we pre booked and the restaurant being completely empty both downstairs and upstairs. I kindly asked if we could be moved as I was not happy with where we were sat and so the waiter proceeded to take us upstairs where not a single table was occupied. We continued to order our food, 2 starters and 2 mains. The starters were simply ‘ok’, however the mains were very disappointing. We ordered the Duck Leg Confit with Citrus for myself and a Sirloin Steak for my other half. The Duck had no flavour whatsoever, no seasoning, let alone any citrus flavour, and the steak which my partner ordered to be cooked rare, came out very over cooked. Not to mention the food came out lukewarm. We would normally follow by ordering desserts but the food was so poor we did not want to disappoint ourselves. Sadly we will not be returning.
Simply outstanding. The food was out of this world, service excellent as well. This place is worth more than 5 stars. Nice little part where we sat outside for a birthday celebration, a fantastic place and under 3 figures for a lovely meal out.
Excellent food. Staff very caring to customers, worth going to for food and the excellent service.
Really good menu, great value. Friendly and good service. Slight niggles. Bread served with snails was not freshly sliced and it would be good to serve whole table in one go ratherr than plates arrive one by one. Will definitely come again.
Me and my partner we had a lovely time on New years eve 2021. It was an early dinner. Great tasty menu, excellent service, professional staff, great atmosphere.Thank you so much.
Fantastic! Excellent service and so attentive. I mentioned that the vodka I was drinking was really nice and they brought the bottle over for me so I knew what it was. The food was amazing. Id highly recommend the cheese souffle starter. Definitely going back again.
Amazing menu and food was divine. Staff courteous and helpful
@brasserieblancwinchester_ WinchesterWhat we ordered:CONFIT DUCK LEG WITH CITRUS SAUCEPAN-FRIED STONE BASS WITH BUTTERBEANS & CHORIZOThoughts 💭The duck was exceptional the meat just fell off the bone. If we returned I would 100% order this again. The stone bass was really good but I wouldn’t order it again. However, we did sneak a little taste of my nan’s smoked pork belly and crackling and think this may have been the nicest thing on the menu it was insanely delicious!
Easy booking for 2 on Friday evening.Lovely staff, great food, not all dishes are "French" but great cuisine and yummy dishes, we finished our plates! We had gluten free Jack fruit fritters (more salad than fritters), gluten free malabar fish curry and pork belly for main.
If I could put 6⭐️, I would. Amazing place for dinner, food was just delicious. Never had anything as tasty as this.Highly recommend the pork belly or the duck leg.
Had a wonderful evening.meal on a Friday. Service was good and the food was excellent. The duck was very tasty. The cocktails were also great.
Delightful Sunday lunch, great service, nice atmosphere, very good food and excellent prices.
What a beautiful night!!! ❤️ We booked table 2 hours prior arrival, on arrival they couldnt see our booking but accommodated us straight away after showing booking number. Great selection of wines and dishes, menu is not too much not too short. Atmosphere was great and staff was very friendly and efficient. Even it is a chain dishes were mind blowing! For starters we had cheese soufflé, liver parfait. For main course: duck and salmon, and for desert pistachio soufflé and crumble (cramble was a winner!. We ate everything to the last bit. Big thanks to chefs!Definitely recomend and will be back for sure.Food: 5Atmoshphere:5Value for money:4
Beautiful food excellent service very accommodated with 2 electric wheelchair users made a certain lady feel very special on her 40th birthday.
Absolutely lovely restaurant thoroughly enjoyed my evening. Compliments to the staff for being attentive and to the chefs for their fantastic food.
We loved the food and the dessert was awesome! This is a cozy place to go and eat with your family. We were also allowed to bring our little dog there but we were kept in a private room inside. Everyone was so kind.
We went on a Saturday night and it was crowded. There are two levels; the toilets, additional seating and the kitchen are upstairs. I wish we had a table upstairs where it was warmer from the kitchen heat. The atmosphere is lovely as are the table settings. But it’s extremely loud — so much so that we couldn’t carry on a conversation. Wish restaurants would consider noise reverberation when they build or renovate. Heck even some carpet or cork as decoration would help. The service was very good and attentive but the waitress didn’t know the menu and ingredients ad well ad she should have. They have a separate menu for gluten free and dairy free options which I appreciated but wish they had more options that were both dairy free and gluten free. I didn’t see any. I also had to ask for the allergy menu and only knew it existed because I saw it online. We had the olives which were ridiculously salty—even for olives—that I couldn’t eat them so my spouse had to. He loves salt and said they were the saltiest olives he’s ever had. Olives are not enjoyable when they’re that salty.I also had the bread with trio dips and asked for gluten free bread which was really good. The waitress wasn’t exactly sure of what was in the dips which was disappointing especially since people have allergies. I took a chance but kind of wish I hadn’t. One was garlic mayo—not sure how this is a dip as much as it is a condiment, two sort of tapenades but with a strange flavor reminiscent of Indian food and one had onions which ruined it for me. I wouldn’t recommend the dips. I do recommend their gluten free bread.I also had the potted crab with avocado. I thought this would look and taste differently than it did. It was just a small amount of crab meat that you can get at places like Waitrose or Whole Foods with a tiny amount of avocado in a very small glass jar. Definitely not an appetizer for two. The crab was very fishy so I had to mix it with the avocado to be able to eat it. It should be served with a lemon but was not. My experience was disappointing other than the gluten free bread. My spouse had the fricasse which he really enjoyed. The waitress couldn’t describe what it was exactly but I’d say it was like a bouillabaisse with mushrooms, white wine sauce and croutons. He also got the pheasant and thought it would be bigger than a tiny piece of breast meat. He didn’t love the sides that came with it but was hungry and ate most of them.We will probably return at some point to try other menu items. Their Christmas menu looks appealing.
Very lovely food. Staff very friendly. Lovely evening with lovely family. My sisters 60th. Xx
The restaurant is clean with a lovely atmosphere, The staff were attentive but not ott. The cocktails were delicious, the menu prices are ££ to £££. The food was delicious too, my husband had Moules in a Thai red curry sauce to start, and you got a very generous portion size. The meals were hot and tasty, the desserts looked good but we didnt have room for them😊
Excellent food with friendly and helpful staff.
My whole family love this place but Ive never been! Was soooooooooo nice. Food was lovely and not a long wait, good drinks too. Very busy as clearly its popular with locals. Will come again!
