Upscale chain brasserie serving a classically French menu devised by celebrity chef Raymond Blanc.
Quite delicious. Good service and friendly staff. Only reason its not a 5 is because it was a little pricey for what it was. There are better places in merchant city to eat out at but this was decent.
We walked into here by chance as a nearby, favourite restaurant of mine was closed for some unknown reason.I don’t like to walk in to random places. I enjoy the research, looking at menus, reading the reviews, however we took a chance on this place.I’M SO GLAD WE DID!!🙂As a longtime veggie, I usually feel fobbed off with subpar veggie options but I chose the cauliflower “steak” and my goodness, with all its sauces, beautiful toppings and the sweet potato wedges, I couldn’t have been happier. It was vegetarian food to perfection in a place that mainly caters for omnivores. Side dish of green beans steamed to perfection 😍Had a beautiful bottle of Pinot Grigio to go with our food.I also must touch on the service that was warm, yet not obtrusive, caring and just right. Thank you for looking after us:)All in all, very unexpected from a chain restaurant.I will certainly be back. In fact, I genuinely cannot wait to have the amazing cauliflower dish of yours again and to sample the other offerings.
Food was of high quality and very tasty. The staff were adequately friendly. Ambience was pleasant. Inpersonally got the chicken, I thought it was a great portion, quite healthy and very tasty - could have had more that 5 sweet potato fries though. However the ones that chose the Salmon were quite disappointed with the portion size, and left hungry at the end. The desserts were again quite high quality. For the prices being charged I think mains ought to be bigger. But I suppose you pay for quality. Over all pleasant experience.
Very good service, but do not get the paella as a main dish. £18 for a mini-starter-size portion, a literal half of which was stuck to the pan. When I complained about this, I was told its because traditional paella is served crispy on the bottom. I left the restaurant feeling hungry and like Id just wasted my money. Wont be returning. Plenty of other overpriced places in London!
I love this place, they are always really good with people who have Coeliacs disease and need to be gluten free. I have never had any issues here and the food is always really nice. If you get the set menu you can not go wrong. Brasserie Blanc is usually consitent for food, French bourgeois cooking with a good comfort factor after a busy time in London.Bookings work well and there are good views towards the Tower (TOP TIP:Ask for a window seat if free). The wine list is reasonable with soe good wines by the glass.
I chose Brasserie Blanc Tower Hill as a place to celebrate my engagement with my fiancée, and was very pleased that the restaurant was happy to move my booking at the last minute by 30 mins so that I was able to take a little more time pop the question (which was thankfully answered with a yes), once we got there, we had a bit of a mixed experience. The staff looked a little rushed, with no-one offering to take our coats, and seemed a little grumpy and confused at the start (this improved later on during our visit, as things began to quieten down). Despite having picked the restaurant beforehand for what I had hoped would be a romantic space for celebrating, upon arriving I realised that it was more open and vibrant, which felt a bit more like a diner than an intimate restaurant, the latter of which I had been hoping for.The menu provided some interesting choices, including some vegan options for my fiancée, which had marked this restaurant out for me. Once ordered, the food came quickly, and my fiancée was very pleased with her choices. Whilst I felt that the range of choice was good, my chicken liver parfait starter was somewhat tasteless, only lifted by the red onion marmalade it was served with, and my main course of pheasant was more flavourful, although came with three pellets of shot, which, while I am aware that pheasant often may contain shot, I was surprised to find no warnings about it on the menu. The dauphinoise potato was a little solid for my liking, too. Our desserts were delightful, and, despite my reservations, my fiancée was thrilled at the choice provided to her as a vegan, and loved the fact that her main contained truffle creme, and her dessert was sorbet, both of which she had been wishing to eat.Overall, we had a fairly pleasant time at Brasserie Blanc Tower Hill, and left feeling relatively sated and happy, but I would say that opportunities were missed to make this a special dining experience. It would be a serviceable place to take people for an informal meal, but not somewhere I’d recommend for an intimate, romantic evening.
Very impressed with the staff. Greatly greeted on entry & was seated within moments. It was a busy afternoon but the staff never let the service down very please. Compliments to the chef the food was excellent & at a great price too. 👍
Absolute joke this place is. Waited for 15 min to order. Placed order and 15 min later waiter came back to tell us that they dont have bottle of wine we ordered. Asked for another one and we were told they may have 2 glasses but not whole bottle. We asked for 2 glasses and 40 min later waiter came back asking if we want another glass even though before he told us they will only have 2 glasses. Ordered Grilled Cod that had no taste at all. Was also hard on one side -guess over Grilled. Desert was good. Definitely not recommended at all.
GOOD VEGGIE FOOD (at least for the afternoon tea& lovely service, go in the week and it can be not very busy and still have the wonderful ambience of a Blanc restaurant ✨
Came across this Brasserie by chance, from the moment we went in for lunch to the time we left nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Everything from the food to the cocktails was amazing. If you go to this place you will not be disappointed. Oh by the way I never give 5 stars.
Average food, dirty toilet with no soap, very slow service and too expensive because all of this. Edit: I will give one more star because of the starter and the desert, they were very good, both soufflés. But the pork belly was not good because of something they put that was very sour, destroying the plate...
Good food at decent price. Not too busy the brasserie today lunch time. The special burger was very good! Only disappointment, nothing special for Bastille Day ,no French music or at least a flag here and there...good thing we knew about the burger
Really good, tasty food and really good service.
We have just left the brasserie blanc at Trinity square and had a wonderful experience. Every member of staff was courteous and attentive and made our experience very special. We particularly liked Natasha. The afternoon tea was most enjoyable and truly delicious. We will definitely be back.
EDIT: At the behest of the restaurants manager (see below), I contacted them. Never received a reply.Lunch at Brasserie Blanc made for a fairly disappointing end to a trip to London. I have been a fan of Mr. Blanc for many years but this restaurant bearing his name needs a visit from the man himself. My wife and I reserved a table weeks ago but there really was no need, the place was empty upon our arrival - usually not a good indicator. We proceeded to order. My wifes chicken dish looked good if a little uninspired but she said it tasted OK. My lamb dish came with an overcooked shoulder piece, and extremely dried out lamb bon-bon and potatoes that appeared to have come from a packet - to quote my better half - "those are an insult to roast potatoes". The only saving grace of my dish was the mini shepherds pie. I would have eaten 2 of those and foregone the rest.Dessert was a little bit better, to be fair.Service was friendly.Would I eat here again? No.
It was not very busy and there is no prix fixe menu which I found odd as the venue is opposite the Tower of London. Perhaps they dont want to encourage tourists, again odd. I had a burger which was nice and the chips were crisp and tasty. My friend had salmon and she enjoyed her dish. The 2 men had pheasant and a side of spinach. They both said the dishes were not warm enough hence the lower score. However, staff were all charming.
The food is very good, service is great. This is a bit pricey but its worth it
Unpretentious place with good value food and very attentive service. We had a very enjoyable evening catching up with friends
In the past I have enjoyed my visits to this restaurant. Based on my experience last Friday though they need to pull their socks up. The staff serving the tables seemed to have no experience at all - some basic training is needed. Bottle of water spilt, plates in front of faces, lacking confidence etc and yet service is included as a default without asking. The food was a bit hit and miss. The Steak and Pheasant was well appreciated but the samosa starter was overpriced ( and in my case contained lots of hairs). I left it half eaten but no comments from the server.
Had a lovely meal and a couple of fantastic cocktails. Service was excellent, from booking over the phone, on entry to ordering/service.We had Thai samosas and another veggie starter which were both delicious followed by cod on squid ink risotto and a veggie risotto for me. The only comment I would make is that the veggie risotto was quite liquidy (so not stodgy like every other risotto Ive had). It left me feeling like I needed dessert (pear tart), unlike my sisters who had "normal" consistency risotto under her cod and squid and couldnt finish it.Even with a dinner party of about 20 people going on we managed to receive our food in good time.Ambiance was lovely and the view of the Tower of London and Bridge brilliant. Will pop in again if in the area.
I was invited here for a business lunch. The place was packed and noisy. My partner really liked the fish curry. I had the pheasant and couldnt fault it as such. Im giving four stars only because I would really have preferred salad or something with lots of vegetables, which the menu doesnt have. The staff were very nice.
The mussels source is extremely good! It’s Thai curry source
A very classy establishment with attentive staff, comfortable surroundings and great food. However, I must concur with other reviewers that I felt the food was not quite hot enough. It was clearly well cooked, but perhaps there was a delay in getting it from the kitchen to the table. That said, it wont stop me from visiting again.
We love Brasserie Blanc. For the food we eventually got I would have given 5 stars but on the first attempt our main courses turned up barely warm and one steak, ordered bleu, was well done. They took it all back and when up the replacements came the they were terrific. The problem was that we were surrounded by large Christmas parties, unruly and fairly drunk. While I have sympathy for the staff, when the booking was taken perhaps we should have been apprised of that. The management told us the meal was on the House but we insisted on paying for our wine and drinks. Would the experience stop me from going back? Not at all. We normally go to the Charlotte Street branch which is quieter but the Tower branch is within walking distance from where we live. The staff at the Tower were very good and once the order was corrected, the food was as good and generous as ever. But Christmas puts non revellers into a potential combat zone. Still, a good dinner when all the bits were right in a chain that to my mind is a cut above the rest in terms of quality and a bit of edginess.
Lovely place. Nice and friendly staff. Good food and cooked to perfection. A wide range of wine and liquor available. The cost for two persons with entree, mains and desert plus wine is around 120 pounds.
Nice service, nice venue but the food was really disappointing, I ended up paying over £50 per person for very bad meal and mediocre wine. The bread served was old and chewy, my risotto overcooked and served cold... When I mentioned this to the waiters they asked if I wanted it re-heated🤦🏻♀️ instead of offering to make a fresh one for me. The pistachio soufflé was way to sugary to taste like anything but sugar.
Although the dishes were good, there wasnt much creativity going on on the menu. I ordered the salmon, which got served with a thick, creamy sauce and chips. I wouldve liked some greens with that! All in all, a little pricy for what youre getting.
The staff were excellent, found me a place at the bar with no issue even though it was busy and I had no reservation. The set menu was superb value @ £18 for 3 courses and the food was beautifully cooked and delicious. Going to visit my local one in Leeds off the back of this experience
Quite good restaurant, expensive and fabulous food. Portions are quite small but delicious. Check is high. Sit is nicely located few minutes away from the Tower. You can spend nice time there, romantic atmosphere. Very good selection of drinks, great choice of gin. We enjoyed our time there with my colleagues
Absolutely lovely place. Delicious food. I could not recommend more. If you are looking for food and wine, look no further. I just loved everything about this place.
Hard to put into words how good this place is. Staff go above and beyond and all looked happy! If you’re around this area or looking for a special place this is it. You won’t be disappointed *5 Stars all day long*
Great food, great wine. Went to this place after a long day at the tower of London. Everything was clean, fresh and flavorful. Half roasted chicken with sweet potato wedges was perfectly prepared; steak and frites were yummy and so was everything else we ordered.
Great service plus tasty food. Cod with risotto plus a bottle of Riesling is a must here!
Absolutely fantastic! Pea, broadbean and red pepper salad was off the charts delicious! Add a fresh baggette with 3 spreads and you will be in heaven! Very inventive cocktails, too. Awesome summer menu!!! Loved lunch today!
Wonderful location with view to Tower of London. Excellent afternoon tea with great service
Went here without booking to celebrate my mum birthday. Friendly and welcoming staff, love the restaurant design and atmosphere, gives you really comfortable almost "home" feel. All dishes, from appretives to desserts were deliciously cooked, well presented and served! Selection is also great, they also cover vegan options.Super satisfied, will recommend and will be back again.
Excellent afternoon tea. The scones and sandwiches were particularly good. Lovely environment and friendly staff
A delicious sample of French inspired cuisine. The Moroccan lamb and chocolate mousse were both delicious!
Was alright for a central London Restaurant. The food was good. The staff were great, but the seating arrangements are letting them down.Really noisy, so I couldn’t really hear what the people at the other end of my table were saying. The tables are crammed in seemingly without thought. I was being constantly jostled by other customers and staff as they tried to move past my chair, even though my chest was pushed up against the edge of the table.
Came here for my birthday with my partner after we had an issue with a booking at another restaurant, and I must say we had a lovely time. The food was excellent, all of the staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was lovely. Everything on the menu looked great, we had a hard time trying to pick just one thing. My partner eventually chose the pork shoulder and I had the duck leg, both fantastic.Odd choice of music but it was quiet enough to ignore.Overall I had a fantastic evening.
Food was amazing! Best meal out Ive had in a long time. The pistachio soufflé was particularly good! Would definitely recommend this restaurant especially if some of your group can be difficult to please the menu has something for everyone - they have more than one vegan option too!
Came here on a corporate event. We had a four course menu with choices. Service was very pleasant and the food was well presented - it was interesting to see how a Beef Bourguignon was served up as that’s not a easy dish to present - see photos! Food was very tasty and we had a run down on all the cheeses. It’s very easy to find this place - straight across the Trinity Square Gardens just outside Tower Hill tube station.
The service and the souffle are amazing. Honestly the nicest souffle Ive had. Brasserie Blanc does not disappoint for fulfilling French cuisine. Now it can be a little busy due its popularity. Be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Lovely cozy french kitchen atmosphere.
Good food, good service, slightly bland atmosphere. Went to this restaurant for a company event. Had a very good French onion soup and a medium rare steak. Both very tasty. Marmalade Creme Brulee was a bit odd though!
Great ambiance, great service, very nice location bit above all... the most perfect food and drinks!
Me and my wife shared a tasty Thai salad and ordered two different steaks: a sirloin and a rump . Both were good. For dessert we shared a Pavlova that was disappointing: the meringue bottom was not home-made. Anyway, we have enjoyed this place.
Excellent cuisine and service well above average, good selection of wines by the glass, you dont all have to have the same bottle. In my opinion prices very reasonable, Mains from £13.50 to £21.50. Would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, so much so, we booked for a family birthday before we left. One of the best.
Had the most wonderful afternoon tea here. The staff were polite and very friendly and made us feel extremely relaxed. The surroundings are clean and up to date, making the whole experience a very pleasant one.
Good selection of wine availed by glassOrdered beef bolanaise, very good. Would recommend. Prices within range of other comparable restaurants. Figure to drop 30-90 pounds, depending on what you order (with drinks and a range of prices on menu).
Decent meal but did not impress. For a starter I took steak tartare: good taste otherwise with interesting herbs but the garlic did burn its way through overpowering everything else. Liked the lightness of cod as main, with good prawn potatoes (innovativebut hoped a bit more condensed taste.
