Brasserie Abode in Manchester
Description
Went in for breakfast as were staying in the abode hotel. Food was excellent, we were served by an exceptional woman, she usually works in housekeeping but was covering for the breakfast shift - was fantastic, incredibly personable, very helpful, she was a total joy to be served by. Looking forward to returning!
MoreFood was really good and staff were friendly and helpful. Prices pretty good.
Nice relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere. Good food and delicious wine.
Nice little bar with friendly staff and good drinks
Lovely restaurant, situated within Hotel Abode, which is very close to Manchester Piccadilly train station. The food was delicious, we had moules, frites and croque monsieur, both of which were beautifully presented. It was quiet at noon on Monday, but service and standards were high. Recommended for a drink, light lunch or, which we did not have, but was being served, afternoon tea which also looked inviting.
MoreAbsolutely Fabulous afternoon waitress was very attentive always had full glasses of Prosecco the meal was delicious we chose the roast beef and it was wholesome and plenty of it it I would highly recommend this place
MoreLovely ambiance. Delicious food. Excellent service. Had a delightful family meal.
MoreYummy afternoon teas for two, good service
The food is lovely here! We had brunch and it was very well priced. We were served by Scott and he really looked after us 😊
MoreSpent new years eve here..food and entertainment amazing along with the staff..worth every penny
MoreLovely £15 menu in January.
The food is good, however when visiting with a baby, asked where the baby change facilities were, I was told that they were not available and that I could find a corner of the restaurant to change. Very disappointing on that front.
MoreHorrible. The moules frites was bad, and the service was even worse.
Had drinks and snacks with impeccable service.
New Years Eve Party. Well organised and presented. Good food with excellent wait staff. Overall excellent experience.
MoreLoved it in here, the cocktails we had were the best Ive ever tasted, friendly staff, a cool vibe, and a great band on in the Ashton Jones experience 👍
MoreHad an Xmas lunch here. Service was good but food not so.
abode hotel was really nice with comfortable rooms, but the food and service both in the evening and breakfast was a disgrace cold food had to wait over 30 minutes for toast
MoreThe steak wasnt nice and it was grissley. Also the waiters werent very well trained and they forgot about one of my familys allergys even after a 2 minute conversation about it.they also forgot to take the £50 deposit off.
MoreJust love this place. Staff always lovely, food always good. Will be back and definitely recommend.
MoreAwful service - not at all concerned about customer experience. No substance, no heart.
MoreIn for breakfast. Great coffee food was under seasoned and a little bland. Beautiful decor.
MoreVery mediocre, mostly empty and over staffed but still a slow service, inattentive staff, slow food and very overpriced for the offering. Should have walked the extra few hundred metres, lesson learned and wont be returning.
MoreGood ideas but poor execution.Stayed at the hotel so experience was if breakfast.Chairs still had crumbs of food on, I suspect as this was breakfast they are not cleaned between the night before. Serving staff seemed capable and eager but inexperienced/poorly trained. They had to apologise that things didnt fit on the table.Cooked breakfast was overpowered by taste of pepper in the sausage. Seats had very low arm rests which made them more suitable for lounging in with a cocktail then sitting at a table eating.Nothing was terrible but just lacked an attention to detail. If your staying over for business the breakfast might be worth it for convenience. If your staying for pleasure then dont pay for it and goto the Ivy.
MoreWe came for a special family dinner and were left a little deflated. Initially our table reservation wasn’t there, to then be told we were due at 5pm instead of the 7pm (which had been confirmed via email). This got sorted and shown to our table. Starters were superb, but sadly the mains were not on par. We ordered 3 rump steaks, and 2 out of 3 were incredibly salty, to the extent that one of them was uncomfortable to eat. We notified the waiter of this and he offered us complimentary coffees which none of us wanted as we were having dessert. However Dennis (maitre d’came up trumps by offering his apologies and securing complimentary cocktails at the bar. Dennis made the whole experience better by going the extra mile for his customers.Overall we had a great evening, but left a little disappointed with the food, especially as the name associated with the hotel is so high.
MoreNot busy , food was great but for some reason drinks took an age to arrive. I then ordered a latte which never arrived. The Waiter did notice it had not been made but still no luck. When I asked for the bill the waiter explained he had deducted the price for a beer and cup of tea which seemed fair. I would go again but if I was desperate for a drink would order at the bar. 🙂
MoreThe group I went with wanted prosecco, which hadnt been chilled so it took ages to get a drink. The staff did however handle this well offering us a free drink and nibbles.
MoreWatched a wonderful young singer called lyza and had a gin cocktail. Nice setting and atmosphere for a hotel lobby.
MoreVery arrogant staff, just paid € 14,- for a double shot. Which wasnt a double, the bottle was empty and the server couldnt be bothered to get a new bottle.
MoreA relaxing place to have a drink and meet up with friends.
This is my second visit to brasserie abode. They were very busy and service was a little slow to begin. We spoke to one of the staff, Josh, and he worked hard from that point on to ensure that we were served and had drinks when we asked. It did seem at times that there were not enough staff for the day. When other staff served us we would asked for desert menu etc and would be left waiting. We would then flag over Josh who would deal with the issue. A good day mostly due to Josh picking up when we had been left waiting by other staff. Excellent food and a good day overall.
MoreLovely food and great service,
Very Poor service in the restaurant. Front of house was fine
Excellent food and service. me and my wife was celebrating her birthday, we both really enjoyed our food. I had the rump and my wife had the fish pie. the waiter was very professional and friendly.
MoreLoved it, great service and very friendly, most importantly priced just right
Plastic Palace with surely barman. Expensive drinks, poor selection of whisky. Continually accosted by beggars should one sit outside!
MoreRelaxed dining. Group of 4 on a Monday. Service was friendly and efficient until we wanted the bill, but overall fine. Large wine list and acceptable beer selection. Food was mainly pub classics done modern.Burger was very tasty and beef of good quality. Worth the higher price than many other places. Other meals were also described as tasty and enjoyable.Overall enjoyable and left a positive impression of the hotel.
MoreWe booked a table in advance for 6 people through the website. When we arrived we were greeted and seated with a smile. Live music was playing which was outstanding. We all choose from the Sunday roast menu and a dessert, everyone enjoyed their posh meal. Fantastic service, yummy food. Definitely would visit again.
MoreAbsolutely delicious. Ordered for room service and didnt expect much, but it was the best meal Ive had on this trip. Bravo!
MoreFairly decent Sunday Roast, although beef was overdone a leathery. Chilled out atmosphere and live music made up for it.
MoreLovely hotel, bar and restaurant and a great place to meet up socially or with work
MoreWonderful cocktails in a relaxed bar. Presentation of cocktails was superb with one being served with a macaroon on the side and another served with chocolate coffee beans. Food is also good, and worth the slightly higher price tag.
MoreWe popped in here for some lunch and the atmosphere was lovely. Great service and drink choices. Unfortunately we didnt enjoy our food.
MorePopped in for breakfast, was a bit of a challenge to find a member of staff but once seated we were well looked after. Menu was decent with classics and a few unusual options. Was well filled with field mushrooms, jersey curd and baked eggs with some sourdough toast. Not cheap eats but nice ambience and quality food.
MoreWe needed a little feast to celebrate surviving January, and having received a £20 voucher in the mailbox, we decided to give this place a chance. We went for their 3 course prix fixe menu and it was well worth the money - lots of food and everything tasted exceptional, from the soup to the duck and the very delicate desserts (my mouth is watering just thinking about them now).
MoreVery nice burger and decent selection of wines by the glass. Very pleasant for a Monday evening.
MoreI didnt have high expectations for a £30 menu (2 courses and a bottle of winebut, honestly, it was great. French onion soup was delicious and both mains (moules frites and confit duckwere excellent. The duck didnt come with any carbs but it was a big portion. The moules frites could have had a bit more depth to the sauce but I cant complain at the price. Good service from and the atmosphere was ok. Would go back.
MoreWe had a £20 voucher to dine here, so decided to give it a try! The entrance was a little confusing because it looked like a bar rather than a restaurant. But soon later we were directed to downstairs which is the restaurant area. Surprisingly good service and excellent food. The staff were professional and polite. We tried 2 course meal which is served until 7pm. Food was amazing. Will definitely go back again. Shame I forgot to take pictures of the food (i was too busy enjoying the meal :D).
MoreNice looking place. Mixed up our orders, waited for 45 minutes and had to pay for everything
MoreNice and friendly. Decent food n drinks
